Beware: Costco will sell tires that are 3 years old & then after 5 years, no matter the mileage, tell you that you need to buy new tires due to age. Not at all right so ask the age if you buy tires there. Also, be prepared to hear some real lines of BS about things. Some of those guys really like to sling it, especially to women. And, you will wait a very long time even with an appointment. Next time, I will go to Discount. And thanks to old tires, it will be much sooner than I wanted. read more

First time I was here, I was panicked because my tire had a steady leak in it. I drove it over pretty flat. I was told it's amazing I didn't damage my rims all too much. Yes, I'm aware I should have put my spare on, but I'm just a girl, I don't remember how to do such things when I'm freaking out about how much a new tire is gonna cost. Point is I was frantic and the tire guys were so nice. I was a walk in so I had a bit of a wait but honestly that's how every business is with walk in appointments so I did not mind at all. My car is old, so it was time to get all new tires but they didn't try to over sell me at all. They just suggested I replace both the front tires rather than just one flat one so it's balanced and because my other one will not last much more because it was nearly out of tread I think he said. I can't remember but it made sense at the time anyway, I was not able to afford doing all 4 tires so I was very grateful he was just suggesting the back two be done at a later date. Really nice guys who explain the whole process to you clearly and don't try to over sell. Second time, I popped my tire on a curb. Yes, one of the ones I just had replaced a year prior. This time though, I popped it and in my hysterical state, immediately tried to drive it to Costco since it was 10 minutes away from me. No sir, my car told me, and started smoking because the rim was just grinding against the asphalt. Again I should have destroyed my rim but Costco salvaged them. Thankfully some nice folks in the neighborhood I was stranded in put on my spare and I took myself to Costco. Once again I'm a walk in. They replaced the one singular tire. Once again pretty quickly too. Overall, so nice, so kind, so reliable. The first place I turn in times of trouble. read more

Disappointed in Prescott, Az Costco. Employees are becoming very rude, prices are high and the social engineering to make customers spend money is a huge waste of everyone's time. Customers do not need to enter the main entry, to have to walk all the way around to the tire center. read more

I am writing this review because this is the third time we have had an issue with an appointment for a simple tire rotation at this Costco Tire Center. We dropped our car off 10 minutes prior to our appointment time. The counter clerk told us it would be a two hour wait and he would call us when the car was finished. ( We were not happy since we had an appointment but what can you do?) After three hours with no phone call we went back and it was clear they hadn't even touched our car yet since it was in the exact same spot it was when we dropped it off. When we went in and spoke with the tech, they said they lost our paperwork and were unaware that our car was even there. This is totally unacceptable. This poor service seems to be indicative of this Costco Tire Center at 44th & Oak. We never have a problem at the Tempe or Queen Creek Costco tire centers. If you need auto services from Costco, do yourself a favor and book an appointment at one of the other Costco tire centers and save yourself a ton of aggravation. read more

I came here to get a tire replaced, and the staff was quite friendly. I didn't know whether I had to get it patched or replaced, and they called me to let me know before changing it. The wait time was quite long though, as they didn't call me until about an hour after I left the counter (although they did tell me the wait time would be 2 hours). I went to pick up my car after it was fixed, and at first, they couldn't find my papers and after they did, they had to wait for the manager to unlock the register to approve my sale. Tire works fine and I appreciate the benefit of getting credit for the new tire based on how much the tread was used for the old tire. read more

My rating reflects the appointment system, not tech service. My service was simple, a rotation. I had an appointment for 7:30 pm, checked in a half hour early. Didn't get out until 9:00, last non-employee in the store. I asked 'why?', answer was 'lots of people came in ahead of you'. However, I had an appointment. This is the second time this has happened recently, arrive with an appointment and finding an army of 'walk ins' checking in ahead of me. Last time it was to be a two hour wait, so I went home and rotated my wheels myself. I conclude this Costco Tire Center provides no special status for appointed service vs. walk in service, other than they stayed until after closing to finish my rotation. I suspect this Costco Tire Center banks on shopping time providing them a cushion, before a customer starts wondering why the service is taking so long. No complaint about the service, I got my wheels rotated without rolling around on my garage floor. read more

I went in on Wed 4/17/23 and ordered tires and payed for them. I made an appointment for 2:30 on Sat 4/22/23 to get them put on. I went in on Thurs 4/18/23 to tell them I needed to replace the sensors in the tires also and payed for them so they would have them on Sat. They already had my tires and they had the sensors so everything was good for my appointment. I showed up on Sat at 2:25 and gave them my keys and went out and sat where I could see my car. They were busy so it was 3:10 when my car was moved into a bay. They were busy so I get it, no problem. I just wanted to see them get the wheels off before I went in to shop. I shopped for an hour and bought about 260.00 worth of stuff we needed and went over and sat at a table by the tire center to wait for the call that my car was done. At 4:30 After watching two different people treat the guy behind the counter like crap for waiting 30 minutes longer than they were told I heard him say they were having trouble with a Mustang. I got up and said " what is the problem?" He said that they were having trouble getting one of my tires to set the bead. I smiled and said I used to do tires and I know it can be hard sometimes. At around 5:30 I tried to give the tech a pep talk and some hints. At 6:00 they told me they had to put my spare on my car and I would have to come back the next day and hopefully the new people could figure out how to get the tire to set the bead. I smiled and said I understood. So now it is Sun 4/23 and I get a call from the tire center and the guy laughs and says it took him 45 seconds to get the tire to set the bead. I tell him I will be able to come back about 2:30 so they can finish the job. He says to call when I'm on my way so they would be ready. I called 2 times before I left, no answer. They are busy, I get it. I get there and wait in line to give my keys to them. The guy behind the counter gave my keys to a tech and half way explained what had happened so I went out and watched the tech put my tire on and helped him put my spare back in my car. He wasn't told about the sensors so I had to tell him to mate them to the car or I would have had to go back for that. So when It was done I asked him to park it back In one of the spots so I could meet him inside to get my receipts. They acted like it was a big deal to give me a receipt with the date, mileage of my car and what they did. They never looked me in the eye, said they were sorry, nothing. I know that since covid it is hard to find people that give a crap but I was nothing but nice to all of these idiots and I will never but tires from them again even if I have to spend hundreds more. I will go to Discount Tire from now on. read more

Great selection of tires in stock for most cars. Some tires will need to be special ordered but it takes a few days to get them. This tirecenter only sells and installs tires it does not repair tires. Very busy place. Prepare to wait a short time in line. Customer service was excellent. read more

Don't even think about going to Costco Tire Center in Prescott unless you like waiting in line forever and listening to the phone ring off the hook that no one ever answers. Worst service I've had in years. Discount Tire is just across the street, go there instead. read more
