I purchased 2 pair of glasses for what I thought was a good price. The first pair came in and went to pick them up. I waited 1 hour and 40 minutes. I chalked it up to not a normal experience A few days later the second pair came in and I have been waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes and still waiting. The tire service people are so unhelpful. Granted, they installed the tires on my car aptly, I wouldn't mind friendliness with the service especially if I'm paying at a minimum $200 per tire. The tire service people are not customer-service oriented, which is okay with me as long as the tires are on safe, but dang, at least crack a smile or something. Anyway, this Costco gets 2 stars from me because of the inconsistency of the warehouse items. For instance, I noticed that some items are available sometimes, but unavailable at other times. Next, the food court is decent, but the service also lacks. Every time I visit the food court, the workers are always indifferent and help you without care. I feel like I'm being processed through. I don't really care for service most of the time, but damn I'm more than just someone ordering. I remember a few times the workers joke around amongst themselves and just ignored customers. I don't know, at least crack a smile. There's something about this Costco and not smiling. So overall, I don't need to shop at Costco because I don't normally buy in bulk. I try not to come here. Plus their produce food isn't as fresh as Trader Joe's produce. The only good thing about this Costco is the gas station. read more

Costco is good to shop in the warehouse as long as you go during non-peak times. Trying to order on line is another story. Same day delivery is fine as long as it gets to your house. Costco uses instacart and 5 out of the last 6 times we ordered, our groceries went to the wrong address. We even leave very detailed instructions to our house (nearest side street, color of house, rv in driveway and one in side yard). What a huge hassle! We call instacart, let them know what happens. We get our money back and, out of fear, go to Costco and do our own shopping. read more

Staff is always helpful, even when I need a new pallet brought down because they are out of something. Also recently when purchasing a large amount of flooring, they worked with me and let me come around back and loaded the pallet up right into the bed of my truck! I like Costco most of the time, especially when it comes to buying my meat, or stuff in bulk! Summer time the kids like a few of the frozen specialty items. We are bummed when they are not there any more. I try to avoid going here during rush hours if at all possible, but really is there ever any time that Costco isn't busy? I feel like it's a race to park! Even if it's far out in the boonies! And the customer practically run you over in the parking lot! The customers are like walking zombies, and are rude! I hate shopping here for that reason! Bumper carts anyone? Or does anyone want to play human frogger in the parking lot? The employees I have never had a problem with. I had to come here to get a few items and stock up on the Halloween candy so the kido's wouldn't be upset! The bad customers won't stop me from shopping here, but it sure lessens the amount of times I go here. Which is sure sad. We recently purchased a new LG washer, and dryer set from Costco online, and they were wonderful! They shipped straight to our house, and did the install in no time at all. Hands down the WORST place to shop at! Rude ass customers and even ruder employees. Our membership expired but we didn't know that (no reminders to renew, nothing) and when we went to check out the cashier made it loudly known our membership was no longer valid so everyone could listen. Nice public shaming Costco! Then as we were walking out, that same cashier actually chased us down to attempt to give us our card back. Why, we were no Linder welcome there and she may that blatantly clear. We didn't make and trouble, we just wanted to leave after being publicly called out and shamed for being there.. Thankfully my wife talked to the "employee" because I was ready to completely unload on her after the way we were treated. Like I said we received no notice our members had expired and they never cared to send a courtesy reminder (people do have lives to live and forget things). Incredibly unfriendly staff from my experience today - and in the past. All 3 people were unfriendly with bad attitudes. For example, I asked a lady near the table/chairs area about a product... she merely pointed in a direction and didn't offer any other advice or suggestion, or to show me were the item was. She was somewhat rude. Then I got to the check out counter... I won't mention the person's name but she didn't smile, basically didn't talk except to take payment, and was uncourteous. Rude too. Finally, I got the receipt / leave the building part... the lady was the worst. I had a few large items and she examined my cart for an excessive amount of time... it was strange given I had large items / simple to see what was in the cart. Is Costco merely a transaction business with no value in human? Definitely not. The staff should know this... but apparently they don't care. I recommend Costco for products but certainly not for the interaction with (some) of the staff. read more

I love Costco as long as it's not on the weekend or before a holiday. The parking is crazy and I actually seen fights in the parking lot. Hmm... must of been extra samples day. In all honestly I mean who doesn't need a 48 pack of cheese sticks? And their blankets and pillows are heaven. Honestly it's great for large families. They only problem is they try to upsell you to get the highest ranking card and says it pays for itself after the first $200 and at the end of the year you get a rebate check. Umm... mine must of been a typo because I spent over $5,000 there in a year and got a whopping $3.00 back there goes that dream vacation. But, thats for another review. Besides that the deli area is always stocked nice and fresh with grab and goes for quick party finger foods and let's not forget the snack bar on the way out. I mean who doesn't like a slice of pizza and a drink after spending $500 on seven items? All and all the customer service is great but the customers will run you over in a heartbeat for a parking spot so proceed with caution. read more

Of many of the Oregon Costco's that I've seen, I find this one to be among the best. The warehouse is spacious, the parking is solid, the customer service is good, and this one has a gas station. Prices are going to be same here as most of them, though, I find their bakery to be top notch. With all of the rising gas prices, this place usually has some of the cheapest unleaded gasoline around around. Not sure about the quality in terms of octane levels, but there is usually a huge line. Everyone has to have a Costco card in order to enter the facility and one must have a card in order to get the gas pumped. College kids who are looking for a solid job while in school should work here. The pay is real decent and is a good way to pay off tuition and rent. Usually there are a lot of younger folks working here as well, its a good opportunity to network while still in school. And of course, for the rest of us consumers, its a great place for a little bit of everything (in bulk). read more

Like most Costco's you usually have quite the adventure before you even get inside the door to the worlds largest bulk store, and believe me, this store does not disappoint. While taking your life into you hands even before you get in the door, you soon will be met with the show your card at the door and then the fun begins. Like most Costco's the really expensive electronics are up front, and all the housewares gadgetry to follow. Once to the back wall you will then have the bakery and meat departments before heading off to the bulk aisles. I do like the food quality here, and I will have to make sure that I stop in here more often as they have plenty of hardy premade almost like home meals that would be perfect for the all out of the house family that really is not ready to cook after being gone all day routine. As always, you will have to look and see what it is you will want versus just getting something that you really will not use. This likely won't get a lot of "likes" but a heads up for all of us who love Costco.. Last week we bought a large "fresh" Halibut fillet on a Sunday well before the expiration date. My favorite recipe is dipped in raw egg, place in a combination of Panko and Parmegiano then pan browned in an oven proof frying pan , turn over and bake to 130 degrees in same.. They are wonderful.. but this one was slightly fishy smelling when opened and the fillet didn't get better with baking.. We tossed it out after day one which was a terrible waste of great leftovers and a dip. Lesson learned: Maybe fresh fish at Newman's and Fisherman's Market is a safer bet as the earlier Costco razor clams were also a bit disappointing. Otherwise we love their 'prime" meat and virtually all other food products. read more

This review is for the Costco Vision Center, which is currently real high on my shit list. I bought a pair of expensive (several hundred dollars) prescription glasses and frames here in November, 2014. This part of the experience was fine. Two years and three months later, the non-reflective coating is peeling off the lenses due to a manufacturing defect. The optician acknowledged that the lenses and frames are still in good shape and hadn't been abused. However, they refused to stand behind their product to any degree. The optician flat said 'Sorry, I know they are defective, but the warranty is only one year.' He then went on to say that they couldn't / wouldn't repair them, and that the only option was to schedule a new exam (because conveniently my prescription expired in November) and buy all-new lenses, and potentially new frames as well. I'd understand if they were cheap Chinese mail-order stuff, but these were supposed to be their "premium" lenses with anti-reflective coating. For these lenses to last for barely two years of normal wear is ridiculous. I could have bought ten pairs from Zenni or another online retailer for the price I paid Costco. Poor quality, poor service, and a refusal to offer any sort of solution other than "fork over another several hundred bucks" earns Costco Vision Center a crap rating from me. read more

I purchased tires from Costco a couple years back. I scheduled an appointment to have them rotated recently, so I dropped off my car and went inside to kill some time. They called me about an hour later and told me my car was done. When I went to get it, the guy at the counter said, "Did they tell you what happened?" Apparently, they got all three wheels off, but couldn't/didn't take the last wheel off because one of the lugnuts was stripped/seized/crossthreaded and they didn't want to break it. The guy told me that this was the shop's policy because they don't have the ability to replace the lug stud there. I accepted this at the time, thinking it wouldn't be a big deal, but after thinking about it for a few weeks, I felt that this was just wrong. They were the last people to do anything to the wheels on the car, so if it was cross-threaded, it was one of them who did it, so they should make it right. I called the shop and spoke to an employee there who said he used to be shop manager. He told me that at the very least, they should have called me and told me what was going on and give me the option of having them take it off and risk breaking it or not. He gave me the name of the store manager and his hours, so I could call him to discuss my dilemma. When I called the manager, I asked him if he remembered the issue with my vehicle. He said no because this "happens every day." I told him the story and explained that they were the last ones to work on the car, so they should fix it. He told me that it had been over a year since my car had been in and they would not take responsibility for fixing the wheel. He also told me that his car would never go that long without having been worked on by someone. Translation: myself or someone other than Costco must have taken the wheel off and then cross-threaded the lugnut when they put it back on. I thanked him for his time and told him I'd take care of it myself. After calling two local shops, I'm now looking at about a $100 repair plus time away from work. The money I saved on purchasing their tires is now out the window. I won't be buying tires from Costco again. This is just bad service and a bad policy. If this is really something that "happens every day," they should have the capability to fix it regardless of whose fault it was. read more

GO TO LES SCHWAB IF YOU NEED TIRES! We are finally home after a nearly 6 hour ordeal at Costco's Tire Department. We arrived for our appointment to have new tires put on our recently purchased used truck. After waiting 15 minutes past our schedule appointment time, we finally were acknowledged and we went into the warehouse to kill some time while the work was being done. 30 minutes later we got a call saying that they were unable to change out our tires because the posts on the wheels were too long, and they didn't have the correct socket to finish the job. With that they suggested we go to a parts store on the other side of Eugene to find a socket that would fit. Since when does a business send a CUSTOMER out to purchase a tool that THEY need? I've never heard of such a thing! An hour or so later, we returned to get the tires finally changed. From start to finish it took, as I mentioned before, 6 hours. We didn't get an apology, a discount or anything. We are so disappointed with you, Costco Tires. We will NEVER go to Costco for tires ever again. read more

Finally when I was there yesterday, I was told by 'customer service' when I want my phone answered to contact the 'administrative offices' on the phone choice and ask for the dept.. I did that today and got "Jeff" that transferred me to automotive. Was hung up on at automotive and tried to call "Jeff" back, but no answer on my phone. I come here every other week. I always have a great selection of wine and beer here. The best part is the food is always good. Plenty of good quality cheese, meats, veggies, eggs, everything at low costs. I can stock up here with most of the protein I need for up to 3 weeks. It is pretty nice. The best part or second best part is the food they offer here. You can get a really scrumption and yummy churro here. It has a really nice texture, nice and moist inside with a perfect blend of cinnamon and sugar. The hot dogs here are great, filling and tasty. The pizza is excellent quality. If I had a family I would bring them here it is a good value for a great taste. read more

One gripe that I've thought of many times is their hours. I think they open at 10:30am on weekdays. How is this at all business-friendly? I blow hot and cold over Costco... No argument, they have great deals on necessities like TP, but the meat dept has always brought me in the door. As another reviewer just mentioned, their beef's always been reliably good - much better quality than any of the chain supermarkets - but with the introduction of their very expensive "Prime" beef, the quality of the regular steaks has really tanked. Our last 2 packages of carefully selected COSTCO tenderloin (bought a month apart) have been tough, tasteless and full of gristle. They've clearly changed suppliers or gone to a lesser grade. Too bad...when we spring for filet mignon, it had best be worth the price, and COSTCO's just isn't anymore. The odds on our leaping to buy their very pricey "Prime" are pretty slim - if I'm going to pay that kind of money for cow, I'll hit a real butcher who'll cut my steaks to order, not make me buy in bulk, and show me both sides of the steak before I sign my life away. read more

Costco is pretty sweet....Come on, everything they have is HUGE!! And it's at a price that's generally fair. We come here to get champagne for our weekend brunches at home. At Safeway for example....You can get a 750 ml bottle of Cooks sparkling wine for 6.99. At Costco, you can get a 1.5 ml bottle of Cooks sparkling wine for 6.99!! So literally for the same price....you get an extra bottle! HELL YAH!! That's value.... I love the Morton of Omaha tri tips they have. I've got a few that were VERY salty, but that was last summer, and I've gotten a couple since and they've both tasted just fine. The offer rotisserie style whole chickens for $5. These are really good, but again...they can get salty....but nice for a quick easy dinner if you dont feel like cooking. They have great return policies and everyone I've encountered has been very kind....FOR THE MOST PART. A lady who was checking us out was saying hi to my baby girl. This was about 2 days after Halloween....She kept saying, "Aren't you cute...You look like you've been kissing a smurf!" I had a straight face at this comment being my daughter has a hemangioma on the tip of her nose which has caused a blueish tint. She continued on by saying, "What's that on her nose? INK??" AGAIN...I bit my tongue... THEN she said, "I seen you guys in here yesterday, I thought it was just a bad paint job! hahah" Im guessing she meant paint job referring to Halloween being the day before. Not only was I ready to decapitate this lady for insulting my daughter repeatedly to my face.....But I was shocked at the STUPIDITY and IGNORANCE that she was displaying by simply laughing off the rude comments after I explained she had a BIRTH DEFECT on her nose. After sharing this experience with my wife she demanded that I give her the receipt from that day. "WHY?" I asked.......My wife got the name of the employee off the receipt and called the manager and RAISED HELL. To this day I haven't seen that lady checking....but then again, I haven't had anyone act like that since!!! Overall Costco is awesome for shopping and getting a good value. I love grocery shopping. This probably has to do with coming from a family of grocers, and having worked in grocery stores from age 13-16 or so. And so of course I love Costco, which is the mothership of grocery stores. Everything is enormous, even more so to my European eyes, and I love it. Plus: samples. Oh god, the samples. My favorite days are when they sample things like truffles or M&Ms. Did I -really- need to 'learn' what M&Ms taste like? Of course not. But hey, free candy! And the fruits and vegetables are especially good quality at Costco, I always find them to be perfectly ripe, especially the avocados. No grocery store in our area matches them for quality, and you'll pay much less at Costco too. The cafe is great too. Okay, so the tables are depressing plastic picnic tables that are always dirty (I don't blame Costco, their cafe is always packed), but the food is actually good. I especially recommend the berry sundae with lots of sweet berries and creamy vanilla soft-serve. And did you know that Costco hasn't changed the price of its hot dogs since its introduction in 1985 (!), and that it's only $1.50 for a very large hot dog? I'll stop rambling about the grocery part now, so I can tell you about the real reason I'm writing this review, an amazing little secret: THE COSTCO WIRELESS STAND What's so special about that, you ask? They carry mobile phones for all major carriers, and always offer the newest stuff (I just got the Samsung SIII). When you buy your phone here, you not only get a free goody bag, which includes a car charger, two carrying cases, a screen protector, etc., but you can also use the Costco return policy for electronics. That's right, you can RETURN YOUR PHONE, assuming it is still in good condition, and exchange it for a completely new phone of the same value, for NINETY DAYS. So I just bought my Samsung SIII. If a new phone comes out that I like better, in three months, I can actually take my three month old phone to Costco and simply exchange it for the new, cooler phone! No fees. A brand new one, not refurbished! There is absolutely no other wireless place that would ever let you do something like that. Astonishing policy. However, my favorite thing about the Costco wireless stand is the people who work there. For about a month I kept coming in twice a week to ask about the Samsung SIII's release date, which kept getting pushed back. They were always friendly, helpful and patient, and I enjoyed chatting with them. I recommend seeing if the manager, Brian, can help you. He's competent, polite and simply incredibly nice. (He also happens to be awfully cute. I hope my husband doesn't read this haha) Whoever you work with here, you will get friendly, helpful advice, a great phone, and by far the best return policy in America. In my first year of membership, I have been nothing but pleased and seen a fair return on the membership purchase. Some folks are put off because they don't necessarily have the use for too much in bulk. If you have at least one party, BBQ or family gathering a year, you'll benefit from the membership. We have an annual family BBQ and that saved me right there, on top of the things I've found along the way. It was also a savior when dealing with unexpected company. They're prepared section is lovely and has saved me from having to spring for something far less convenient when planning a memorial service awhile back. Of course you cannot go here if you're in a rush or have something specific in mind, since everything is packed and availability is subject to change. Wandering the aisles can be great exercise both physically and emotionally (patience, deep breathing). I'm annoyed they don't open until 10AM, that's my only gripe. I'm still shocked that getting there at 10:15 means you hit a huge line to get inside, even on a Wednesday morning, ick. I haven't had too much interaction with employees, they seem to be efficient and that may come across as rude/un-talkative to some who are used to lots of small chat at the check-out. I always appreciate boxing stuff instead of bags, the one place in Eugene you don't have to remember to bring your bags or get docked 5c a sack! Member only access, free samples, cheap gas, the ability to return anything without question, large bricks of your favorite cheese that otherwise would have cost you a fortune? Not to mention buying in bulk so that you only have to shop once a month. Granted, there are a few fresh things I can't get here and so the local grocery store is still handy, but otherwise, Costco it is. Costco's one caveat...you may fall in love with an item only to find that it is no longer sold there...I hate that!!
