Eugene is one of my favorite places to visit in Oregon when I'm away from my home base of Portland. I've been to numerous locations of Whole Foods & they generally feel the same: watch out for the prices, look for their 365 brand items, & hopefully, there are a good number of vegan items that aren't in the refrigerated/frozen sections of the store. I was pleased with the variety of what I could pick out from the salad/hot bar, understand it'll never be the greatest value, & will come back on occasion when I'm in town. read more

I have never felt so unwelcome at a store in my entire life. The other shoppers and the workers all looked at me and my husband like we did not belong there. Workers just starred at us and when we asked for help finding an item they were not helpful at all. I felt discriminated against, and have no clue why we were treated this way. I do not understand why a business would allow such behavior from their employees. I have only been here twice. I went a second time in case the first time was a fluke, but I had terrible service and was given unwelcoming stares both times I have gone. Will not shop here again. I have been to many Whole Foods and had great experiences, it's only this location that has the most rude customer service I have ever experienced. read more

The Deli food looks so yummy. We didn't get any but it looked so good. We got some snacks, we were staying at the motel across the street. We asked a person stocking the aisles for something and she kindly told us it was across from her. LOL It's a nice clean store, with some helpful people working there. I'm not a huge fan of Whole Foods; Market of Choice is my go-to and Capella's is good too, so there's really no need for this place. But I went to pick up an order from Amazon that I'd placed since doing so meant I got it a day earlier. But what is the point of Amazon pick-up if you can only do so during store hours? I was shopping around for the basic 15 or so items I purchase regularly, and decided to check with Whole Foods. There I found my staples at prices less than Fred Meyer! What a pleasant surprise. I was also surprised to find many items that MOC used to carry way back when, so this was a win win! (I don't know what has happened to MOC, but it's been in a slow decline for years now - an entire isle devoted to Tillamook cheese haha) I use the curbside service, which is very convenient. Pulled up, and let the app know I was here. The curb side employee was very nice and welcoming. After getting home, I found everything to be of the highest quality. I'd been buying two each of lettuce hearts, tomato's, onions, etc at FM curbside, in hopes of getting one that wasn't starting to turn. Whole Foods veggies were very fresh! In the future, I'm looking forward to only having to purchase one each of my veggies lol In addition, the A2 milk I purchased from Whole Foods had a further out expiration date on it, than the A2 milk I purchased that morning from MOC (figures). Also, WF has a large selection of Raos which is my go to for certain things like soups etc. And the best surprise yet, WF carries our favorite brand of pork products True Story! We had been bringing this Kurobuta bacon and ham back from Zupan's in Portland, when it was in our backyard the entire time! Also, the meats look very fresh! Hamburger, sweet Italian sausage, etc. There were only a couple of odd things that happened with this transaction. 1- the order was for ~$350, yet WF put a hold on my card for ~$400+. The employee said it was for things that needed to be weighed like hamburger etc, which is fine, but FM does not do this. I'm sure this is simply a corporate thing. 2- I use an iPad Pro exclusively for web things, and I was unable to go back and view my order. I could see a summary with $ total, and a line of really small pics of my items, but it wasn't representative of the entire order. Again, not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Lastly, since you carry our PDX bacon (True Story), how about getting in a French butter? Maybe a moulded sea salt Payson Breton? That would be lovely! Overall afaic, this was a 10/10 experience. I mainly come here to use Amazon services, and sometimes buy things in the store. My main complaint is the attitude of the staff. It almost seems like their real job is to remind the customers of their place. Not just what they say, but their body language is pretty aggressive. It is the only store I have ever been in where you are walking along minding your own business and an employee speeds up or changes direction just to make you stop while they walk in front of you. It is almost comic now, as I will see an employee walking towards me and think in my mind "Turn suddenly, important things to do!" And almost invariably that is what they will do, stepping right in front of me, and I have to stop and wait while they pass. To be fair, this kind of attitude is endemic to organic grocery stores, as employees seem to think they are not just grocery clerks, that they are following a higher calling, and the customers are somewhere below them. It is just that it is exaggerated at Whole Foods. Day before yesterday I bought a sandwich and asked an employee if they had packets of mayo and mustard, and she literally wrinkled her nose at me and said, "No, we don't do that. There is mayo already on your sandwich." I felt like I was an underclassman at a British private school being disciplined by the headmaster. Although I really didn't feel that way. I felt like I was dealing with a silly person. It is a very interesting situation, the way stores take on certain cultural attributes, and now that I know what to expect, I take it in stride. This location feels like a discount outlet version of the brand, a Nordstrom Rack to a flagship Nordstrom if you will. Small, dimly lit, and about half of the selection you see at a normal Whole Foods location. The staff here is invariably apathetic to their work, their customers, and their personal appearance. Between the homeless begging at the front entrance and the rag-tag staff it feels like a halfway house that happens to also sell groceries. I shop here because it is the only healthy food option within walking distance of my office downtown. If Market of Choice were closer I would never step foot in the Eugene Whole Foods again. read more

I placed a Whole Foods delivery order at 1:30PM for delivery between 6-8PM. At 5:55 I received a notification that they were shopping my order. At 8:30 with no delivery I checked the Amazon website and it said my order was delayed. At 8:57 I called customer service for an update. Got absolutely no help after 34 minutes on the phone mostly on hold. At 10PM I was notified my entire order was cancelled. I was also notified Amazon & Whole Foods are keeping my $115.00 for 3-5 business days. 1. Why was there zero communication? 2. Since they put a hold on my money why didn't they reschedule the order for the next day? 3. Why would I ever shop here again? Thanks for nothing Whole Foods! Other than food being pricey (I am from out of town & have never shopped at WF before), it was a delightful experience compared to the Safeway on 18th (see review just completed on that disastrous experience), where I had driven straight from to get my items. I saw the store a few days before during an early walk around downtown, and considered it for future shopping needs since it was close to my friend's apartment. However, they have a reputation as a chain for being quite expensive. All of the staff were helpful & cheerful. It was easy to get the restroom code, weren't gender specific & they were not only clean, but were cleaned often. I was looking for mini cucumbers, but the produce manager said the store's order was not filled by the WF warehouse, however another staff cheerfully showed me alternatives & made recommendations. Lots of variety in eggs types & dairy. They carried many items I was unable to find at Safeway I had just come from. While the produce prices seemed a bit high, they had good quality & variety. We came back a few other times to pick things up since they were just down the street. WF is a nice addition to downtown area! read more

I went back to see if they experience would be better, so October 3 I was there and I noticed the rotisserie chicken that sits on the warmer was turned off from October 2 left over from the day before. So you can't leave chicken like that overnight and not on the warmer and left out on the shelf you can get food poisoning so I'll let the cashier know about it and you guys need to get your act together and pay attention management shouldn't be walking around paying tension to details like this whole foods has gone downhill specially this location read more

Their takeaway and prepared food game is not great, particularly for the gluten or dairy free crowd, and plastic containers all over the place. I use this Whole Foods like a fancy convenience store when I'm in a pinch, doesn't feel like it has the selection or nicer shopping experience of some WFs I've been to. read more

How refreshing to have a Whole Foods in Eugene! Store is clean, especially enjoyed the bulk items with local suppliers. The prepared foods are still somewhat limited in their selection and perhaps that's due to the fact that it's still new. The produce has a good size organic section although a good portion of the produce is from out of the country. Compared to the Whole Foods Stores in Los Angeles, this store seems like a little satellite although the square footage seems large. The amount of groceries within seems smaller. Parking is readily available in their private lot . All in all, however,so happy to have Whole Foods in Eugene. read more

A pretty decent Whole Food location. Love the selection of local cheeses, wines, and other speciality items. Their homemade dip, salsa, and guacamole section needs some improvement in terms of quality and selection. They also don't have as large as a prepared food or cheese selection as in typical Whole Foods. During COVID they had pretty decent protocols in place. There were some line spacing designations, an employees were wearing masks, and the employees were actively cleaning when we were there. Employees were respectful of distancing. Customers? Not so much. But that's pretty typical of Whole Foods customers and nothing you can do to control them. There were more people in the store than usual and it did not appear that the store was regulating numbers in any way. Overall I give their safety protocols a 7.5/10. read more

I have been to at least a dozen Whole Foods nationwide and this has to be the least pleasant. Why? #1. Bathrooms!!!!! There are 2 tiny bathrooms for this mammoth store which always seem to have a line out the door. C'mon Whole Foods! Seriously?!?! Purchase is also required to use them. I can't say I blame them for this as, I believe they were having issues with the... #2. Hoardes of outside vagrants using the restrooms to shoot heroin. This has gotten slightly better since they have hired security but I have still been hassled by them multiple times trying to shop here. #3. the parking lot is a complete sh@tshow, but I can't say this is unique to this specific Whole Foods. #4. Selection at the hot food and salad bar is a bit lacking compared to other Whole Foods that I've frequented but the quality of the food is just as great as others. It's possible that the selection isn't as great as before due to the pandemic which is understandable. Also, restrooms require a code to enter. read more

The employee denied my son the right to purchase an alcoholic beverage because his California driver's license was vertical. she said it was store policy not to accept them but never once did she look at the information or authenticity of it. He turned 21 in July and has been in school in Oregon since then. His frien was able to buy be he had an Oregan DL and just turned 21 a week prior. I called corporate and asked what their policy was and they agreed that it should have been looked at and not dismissed. He has not been in state to get a "Horizontal Real CA ID". He also had his digital CA ID and was still denied. I was told that my concern would be passed on to the store. I am guessing it was not. read more

Yesterday I asked "Chloe" the same, she stopped what she was doing, checked with the other staff and came out with a great pie... Your website states masks are required and yet yesterday a group of anti-maskers staged a protest in the store and your Manager allowed them in to shop regardless of the fact they refused to wear masks he blatantly ignored your policy and the mandates of the Governor of Oregon putting the health and wellbeing of his employees and shoppers including myself at risk. Whole Foods of Eugene, wow, who would have thought this place would be this RAD? Last night I decided to get a whole bacon, onion, & chicken pizza pie for the low, low cost of $18.00 + two beers which came out to the low price of $22.00 OTD. SCORE! Keely helped me out, who was super gnarly about giving me all the best pizza suggestions and ended up making a SUPERB pie. Super cool to talk shop with, loves the pizza trade, and is prime for a raise and promotion! She was very diligent about getting me my UPC early and had my pizza in my hands 5 minutes later! WOAH!! Keep her at that station and do us all proud! Also another employee I'd like to write about is Max, whom is the Lord of Beers and a great guy! When I came in on another date he helped me out with a selection of cheese which made my life that much better and was a great person to talk to. He's a deep individual & has a wonderful work ethic. Another candidate for a fat raise + promotion, hint hint! This is what customer service should be like. Also if you're tired of paying $35 - $50 for a pizza + beer at Sizzle Pie, come to WFM to get a hot pizza with multiple toppings that you can bring from ANYWHERE within the store and they'll prep it for you - if figs are in season try that on your pie! I know that there was some skepticism about opening a Whole Foods in Eugene but I have to say that I am really happy they did. Not only is the store brand new and very well laid out but they have an amazing produce and bulk section. The employees are helpful and ready to answer any questions about their products. If they don't know the answer they will quickly find someone who does. They have a decent looking hot bar with sandwiches, burritos and pizza as well as a yogurt bar closer to the front of the store. They are still working out some of the kinks just like any new business would but they are doing a great job at it. The bulk section has great options when it comes to granola, nuts, sugars, salts, grains and flours. They also have many of the amenities other Whole Foods stores have like a bakery, cookie bar, deli and meat market. While some things may be a little overpriced there are some items that I will definitely be back to buy. They also plan to do a lot for the Lane Foods project including giving customers the option of donating 10 cents per reusable bag they bring for their groceries. read more

In town for a couple of days and have stopped in a few times for a couple of things. On our way to go kayaking yesterday, I ran in for beer and sunscreen. Got in the car and couldn't find my sunglasses. My $300 Maui Jim sunglasses. Wasn't 100% sure I had them before going in because I knew I wasn't going to wear them on the river, thought maybe I had left them at the hotel. Got back to the hotel after kayaking and they weren't in the room or in the car. My son kept telling me to go back to Whole Foods to see if they had them so I went back today and they totally had them! Locked in a drawer, good as ever. I am beyond happy! Additionally every time we popped in the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Beyond impressed with their honesty and helpfulness. read more

This place is similar to other Whole Food stores that I have been in. I really liked the large beer and wine selection. We stopped by to grab a quick meal to go. I ended up grabbing a caprese sandwich from the deli section. It was nice one was already made so they just had to toast it. The sandwich was good and I felt like it was a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly. It was an overall great experience. The only thing I didn't like was how there were only 2 one stall bathrooms for how big of a store it is and you had to track down and ask an employee for the code in order to use it. I absolutely love Whole Foods; our family lives in organic lifestyle and it is so nice to be able to have a place where we can go to get all of the things we need and want.
