He wrapped them in plastic, rolled them out and helped load them up -- he was friendly the whole time! Great service, kiddo! You made your store some money it would have lost that day!!!

The other day, I needed a few things and decided to try there instead of WalMart nearby. They had a ton of stuff on sale. I bought 10 pairs of shoes for 25¢ each (CENTS). No, I didn't need 10 new pairs of shoes, but c'mon. I was able to get a lot of grocery items on really good clearance. They didn't have a great selection, but good enough to get me through the weekend. They had a lot of stuff marked down to 25¢. I ended up spending $50 when I went in to buy about $3 worth of stuff. WHICH IS WHY I DON'T COME HERE!!! The guy that checked my stuff out was quiet but really nice. I had signed up for a Big Lots card a long time ago, but didn't have it. He really wanted me to get credit for the big purchase I made that day so volunteered to take the time to fix my old account so I'd get those "points" even when I told him he didn't really have to go to the effort if he was too busy. He wasn't that busy, so was perfecty happy to do it. I'll definitely go back, although I'll have to be careful not to buy too much.

This store reminded me of going to your local department store. Reminiscent of my youth. I admit I do enjoy the experience! I understand this isn't for everybody and I also realize some folks would feel they may not get the same treatment. I think that's something important to acknowledge in reality and something I hope Von Maur takes very seriously. I did note that they offer an interest free card and that is incredible and unheard of these days! I didn't think to look but I really hope they offer a layaway plan as well. And hopefully for a very small fee since some folks may not qualify for credit but would still like to buy a nice gift for someone. I absolutely signed up for the interest free card. This is very smart of this company because they will get your business but not charge you absorbent interest! Refreshing! I did enjoy my couple of hours there. Not being from the Midwest, I had never heard of Von Maur but I wondered in because I was curious!. It's very lovely and they had decorated for the holidays. Unfortunately, I did not see a live piano player on the first floor but the piano was there and they had lovely piano music throughout the store. They have numerous departments with many fine offerings in apparel, cosmetics, accessories, and more. I didn't see any home goods which I would have enjoyed as well but it's not a huge store. I'm not sure if that's offered at any other location but maybe 1 day, it'll be added. I also wish they had a larger selection of petites but at least they have that section! Let's talk about price... There are a lot of mid range (nice but not outrageous) designer brands. You can easily spend over $100 on a pair of jeans or $200 on a dress or coat. BUT, they also have sales (I saw a lot of 30% off on some brands) and they have sale racks with markdowns. By wondering around I figured out there's 2 levels of sales racks. One is a first mark down. Here you'll find the $160 jeans for $80-$125 (as an example), but there's also a second section of mark down racks in the departments (usually 2-3 racks) with a second mark down. Here I found a $120 dress for $35 as an example. I think while it's definitely a more expensive, luxury brand place, there are some more budget friendly options. Everything I bought that night was on sale. AND I found a pen mark on a dress I really wanted that was on double mark down. The incredibly nice sales lady in the department walked the dress all the way upstairs to the alterations department and they all tried to get the mark out for me. She was equally attentive to me as a customer buying a $35 dress as one that cost $200. Even when she could not get the mark out, she helped me decide on another one from the sales rack that was also $35. I really loved that and when I need that $200 dress, I'll go back to Von Maur and when I want to have fun buying a few super sale dresses, pants, etc, I'll also go back to Von Maur because they valued me no matter what my budget was that night! I wish I had gotten her name. Just in case, she was around 5'3-5'4, shoulder length blonde hair, and was wearing a cute set from the store which I want to go back and get now. lol she was working in the downstairs juniors and women's department area on the night of 11/29/25. She is great! Make sure you treat her well! All the sales associates I encountered were terrific. Another one helped me open my interest free card. We closed down the store that night but were never made to feel as if we had to rush out even though we were respectful and paid and left right after they closed. The selection of spa/beauty items is ridiculous. And you can typically find higher name brands here for a fraction of what you'd find elsewhere. Be warned that on weekends they can get jam packed to the point that the line snakes out into the store.

I was expecting a lot larger footprint, especially since this is the only Halls and it was in the Crown Center. They had one section for Kansas City stuff and sadly it was all Chiefs/Royals related. As in years past we stopped by to pick up several ornaments as part of our holiday tradition for family, friends, and as a promise to my late mother. We picked up a woof doggie bone for a friend who lost her fur baby a couple years ago(I figured she needed a snack, lol). My husband also helped to shop for a dear friend, who just recently lost her son the very beginning of this month(I found an angel happy and he found a male elf ornament to go with it, to honor her angel this holiday season). We also found ornaments to honor our cats and dogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge and that are still here with us. Finally, the last is a promise I made to my late mother.To continue her egg tree(so I picked up the latest eggs to add to the collection.I added 13 more.I will be adding pictures to make another picture book as soon as I can. I try to make a book so I know which ones I have and don't get duplicates). The ornaments are an affordable way to bring a piece of Kansas City home with you.

This is my experience at this location and with an assistant manager and using credit card points…read moreto get gift cards to use at Bath and Body: I got these gift cards on a Tuesday before I went to this location the first time which was a Wednesday. My boyfriend had points on his credit card for spending so much money on it. So with the points we got $200 in gift cards so that I could go shopping for hand soaps with it. I was only there for the necessities that I need for the house, and a couple things that I am really wanting I live in Paola and work 6am to 6pm I'm not there to make grief, I'm wanting to get in and out so I can go too bed by 9pm. I go in there I pick everything out, this lady swiped my 4 gift cards 4-5 times each. But, anytime they were swiping the gift cards it was taking the money off the total. They tell me that there machines must be down. I understood that, so they tell me to come back the next day and they were gonna call customer service and figure it out. So I do, I'm waiting behind 2 other customers, the girls at the register had gift cards! They used them no questions, didn't tell them to come back tomorrow. They went through just fine. It's my turn to do the whole checking out my items for the second time. They start swiping away trying to "figure out what's wrong with these specific gift cards." They end up calling customer service again to figure out why it's not working. Now this same lady I had the previous day (she was the one who swiped my card 4-5 times) is telling me that there's no money on these cards and to come back on Friday to go through the same trouble. This lady was pretty much telling me to ask around and make sure they were activated thinking I might've stole them if I'm having this much issues. I confront this lady and tell them, "that's funny, I just came in here yesterday with $200 on these cards ready to purchase my items I chose, I checked them. I come back in and conveniently there's now no money on my cards. Your machine took the money." Of course she's telling me that they'd never do that, questioning me if I was sure that these were activated cards, she ends up calling customer service AGAIN. She ends up telling me to write my email and they're giving me my money back with e-gift cards. Perfect situation, right? You'd be asking yourself why I only gave them 1 star and not 5 because they "took care of the situation" I only got partial money back. They lost 3 loyal customers to this Bath and Body we will not be shopping at this location again. We'll make the effort to drive the extra 10 minutes to get to the Oak Park Mall location. They at least know how to use gift cards, but they did know how because they literally had customers IN FRONT OF ME that used their gift cards without ANY ISSUES. Please take my advice and learn how to look back at transactions so you don't have to call customer service 4 times. Saves ya'll the trouble and hassle. Funny part is, is this lady claimed to be an assistant manager. You'd think somebody in that store would know how to look back at months even years of transactions, just to make sure that the machine didn't take the money. Hope people never have to live through the anxiety and very stressful experience I had to experience with you guys all because no one was willing to look at transactions just to at least make sure somebody is making a mistake in the situation. Might've saved some time.

Once I got to the register I was completely ignored by the cashier who acted as if it was an inconvenience to check out my two items because she was gossiping with another co worker about the people in their neighborhood. I tried to ask several times if I could get two fives in exchange for a 10. Completely ignored that I existed. Just pointed to the pinpad when it was time to pay. The only time she looked at me or said anything to me was giving me my receipt which I then finally got her attention/eye contact and asked for the final time to exchange the bills and she told me that it was too late. Working in retail myself I know she could have easily opened her drawer and exchanged them, completely rude and lazy. Won't be returning to this location. I hope a conversation about customer service is had with this employee. Cashier 340618
