Most Costco's are pretty standardized and all are very handy for their purpose. On our quick drop-in here for reason unstated, I noticed three things compared to the Costco's we frequent around Chicagoland. 1) They don't sell gas, as gas pricing is fixed across Canada by the government and there is no advantage to Costco. 2) Based on this one data point, the checkout area seemed a lot more open than what I'm used to seeing. Maybe weekend traffic is even heavier up here IDK. 3) They sell Costco fries (and of course poutine)!! The End. read more

Who doesn't love Costco deals, food and samples? I frequent this location and they definitely have a great selection of items that are sold. Things get sold out quickly here, especially when there's a sale on certain items going on. So definitely have the "buy now, think later" mentality when shopping here. Items are usually such a great price and super affordable. Groceries here are fresh, come in larger than usual portions but great for larger families or meal prepping. Some go to items are their rotisserie chicken, chicken thighs, salmon, green beans, toilet paper and garbage bags. You can't leave any Costco without getting some food, especially their $1.50 hotdog combo! Food is usually good for food court style and again, very affordable. The parking here is atrocious, I can never find a parking spot inside the actual parking lot. 90% of the time I have to park on the streets. It doesn't matter if I come on a weekday or a weekend, it's always busy. The selection here is fine and I think I only come here because I see deals posted by Mr. CME on Instagram lol. Costco is costco, but this location honestly sucks because of the parking and how crowded it is. I typically prefer going to the other Markham location or the one in Richmond Hill. Swung by on a weeknight about an hour and a half before closing. Not a bad time to come through as there were parking spots available and the lines around the store were minimal. I was looking for contacts which they do not offer online, hence why I was forced to come into the store. The Optical center was pretty well staffed so there wasn't a wait required. If it's your first time ordering contacts from them or it has been a while, they'll ask you to try on a pair in front of them just to make sure you know how to use them. They also do a quick (not even 5 minutes) exam of your eye once they're in just to make sure everything is good. It was a pretty good experience overall. The optician that helped me was a little condescending at first but kind of warmed up in the end. One disappointment at this location was that they were out of the frozen Korean hot dogs! I actually saw a mountain of empty boxes but the goods were nowhere to be seen. Still, lots of other stuff to see at this Costco. read more

Not my usual Costco but this might change! I usually go to the location at Woodbine/7 which is insanely crazy even on a weekday afternoon. Surprisingly, when I dropped by yesterday afternoon. I able to find a lot of parking spots which were close enough to the entrance! When I checked out, there was only 2 carts in front of me and I was able to cash out within 10 minute wait! Selection and pricing is similar to the other Costco, but with less shoppers and shorter lines. This make shopping at Costco a more enjoyable experience! read more

My dad with the membership got me new tires from this location. A very busy place even on weekdays during work hours. It's like people don't have to work! My experience with the tires...Great prices! Done in a timely manner (they told me about an hour and a half). The people behind the counter were fairly courteous. Note that your old tires are given back to you since it's your responsibility to dispose of them. However, they do take the time to bag each one to avoid dirtying the inside of your vehicle. The best deal for a 1.2Kg seasoned oven rotisserie chicken is at Costco! It's $7.99 ($9.03 tax in) and the ingredients listed are Chicken, Water, Rice Starch, Sugar, Vegetable Oil, Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate, Sodium Triphosphate, Spices, and Silica; the phosphates is a saltwater solution (...a brine). Sounds fairly healthy to me! In 2016, Costco in the USA apparently sold 6 million cooked chickens which are shipped from suppliers to Costco stores seasoned and ready for the store ovens. During this routine weekend grocery shopping with family. I decided to treat my niece and I to some desserts at Costco. The price of two Sundaes came to about $6, not bad. I noticed that they just started self kiosk serving like McDonald's. Awesome! The sundaes were smooth and we loved it. I would say that they were better than McDonald's. The parking lot is a disaster....for whatever reason, the clientele that shop at this location think it is okay to leave carts all over the parking lot. Carts are left in aisles, hanging on curbs, in parking spots. They need to do some targeted educating at this location. People are plain lazy and leave garbage in their carts, expecting an employee to clean up after them. I blame Costco....but only because I think they need to address the situation with their customers. They know who buys there, they should all be sent an email or perhaps a letter when they walk into the place. As well, I think all Costcos, Walmarts and Grocery Stores should encourage their customers to bring a cart in them from the parking lot. Seems pretty simple to me. read more

It's funny that I don't have a membership to Costo but I end up either eating food bought from there or tagging along with friends and buying groceries from there or taking advantage of their many available free food samples; you can easily get full off of all the samples. Costco is a membership club where you pay a yearly membership fee. The majority of items you buy in bulk which works out cheaper per unit/serving. The reason why I don't purchase a membership is because it's just me and my hubby so there's no need to buy in bulk and I don't have the storage space to keep extra stock. I can however appreciate the many benefits it offers: groceries (they have THE best store brand - Kirkland), prepared foods (pizza and rotisserie chicken are my favorites), electronics (big screen tvs), baby equipment, fresh plants and flowers, even a massage chair. It's a HUGE warehouse so if you get tired or hungry you can hang out at the food court where you can find bargains like a large cappuccino for $2.99 and a 1/4 lb all beef hotdog combo with 20oz pop with free refills for $1.50! Quick lines and friendly cashiers; you'll need to put your own groceries in your own reusable bags or you can take their used boxes like at No Frills. Keep your receipt in hand when you leave because they'll be staff to take a look at it. I wouldn't recommend going during peak hours unless you don't mind the crowds and fighting for a parking space. read more

I love this Costco! Markham is graced with two Costco locations. This one opened in the mid-2000's. I have been shopping here for a long time. Staff are always helpful. I like when vendors come in to showcase products. My best story was shopping at Costco a few years ago. Lug was there, selling its colourful line of travel bags and purses. I had been eyeing a purple laptop rollaway bag from Lug for a long time. I found the exact model that I had wanted. Happy day! I asked the woman if she had a purple one. She said that she didn't. I was bummed. She had black and red left, but my heart was set on the purple one. It was also $80 cheaper at Costco than on Lug's Web site. After shopping up a storm with my parents, who love tagging along with me because my Costco membership helps them, too, we had lunch at the little food court area. I love the hot dogs. One is filling. My mom also gets the hot dog, and we split an order of French fries with gravy. The fries are amazing. They are lightly battered with some magical, yummy coating of goodness. The gravy complements them nicely. My dad gets the chicken fingers and fries. He loves them. He gets barbecue sauce for dipping. Anyway, we were eating away. The woman at Lug walked up to me in the food court and was thrilled to have found me. She walked the entire store to look for me. She had my rollaway laptop bag in purple! OMG! Of course, I immediately went with her to see the bag. Sold! She brought it up the cash register for me. I didn't have to line up. I paid for my purchase, thanked the Lug woman for making my day, and joined my parents in the food area as I continued eating lunch. I still use my Lug bag for work. It had been nearly four years since I've had it. I love it. Costco is wonderful for buying bulk items. It's also nice to find foods that open up my eyes, such as crispy baked pea snaps. Costcos are pretty much the same everywhere. I love Costco in general and there weren't any pressing negative interactions at this particular location. There were suitcases for sale so we picked up one of those and then got in line for some fried chicken wings. It seems as not every knows there's fried chicken to be had at Costco. Prices were reasonable at $6 for 10 wings or $20 for 30 wings. The wings tasted great with some pizza for dinner but were on the salty side the next day. Maybe I never noticed the saltiness the night before. Tip: you don't need a membership to buy hot food. Just go through the exit for your fried goodness fix. read more

This used to be a fairly quiet Costco with shorter lines than most other locations, but not anymore! With all the new condos and other developments, it's crazy/busy! The parking lot is much easier to navigate though, and when it's full, I just park on the perimeter of the road (safer too)! I find the price of organic milk, bananas, chicken, organic baby spinach, organic coffee and some other items are cheaper here. Best to avoid weekends if you can, but not always possible! read more

This Costco often runs out of buggies, especially on weekends so make sure to get one nearby at the parking lot after you park your car, because you might be in a big surprise of no available shopping carts at the entrance and will have to walk back to the parking lot to get one. I rarely go to this Costco since it is a little further for me but whenever I do, I find this Costco does not carry enough stock so once the item is sold out, there wont any stock until a week later. Surprise, on my last visit, seaweed salad was nowhere to be found on the shelves or was it just my bad luck that it ran out? I had a lady trying to cut in line to grab a fresh chicken even though there were tons out of the oven...lady, relax! The good thing I like about this Costco is the parking lot is welll designed ..u can get in and out easily with so many entrances and exits. Good job to whomever design this lot. read more

Always find some of the best deals here, especially when trying to source for more healthier options, I find this location to carry an array of products to choose from which helps me be able to still enjoy varied flavours and tastes. I'd say the best time to come here is very early in the morning and any time before the weekend to avoid long line-ups and parking delays, as this location can get ridiculously packed during prime times and holidays - already experienced it. Costco in general is a great place to buy bulk in terms of food and housewares. All Costco's carry similar items, but I found that the one at Markham Road 14th Avenue caters to their resident population. For example basmati rice, chickpeas, matcha ice cream etc. quality is either a hit or miss. I sometimes find their veggies and fruit can be fresh and sweet and at times sour and poor quality. I find the most busiest times that people come and shop are when the samples are out. I Try to avoid this time because I usually am not here for that but actually buying things. In terms of returns, this Costco is probably one of the WORST. Customer service is poor, lines are long and slow. Returning one item can take 45 minutes at the least. Which is quite frustrating. Food court food never disappoints as their hotdogs is the cheapest and most standard in terms of flavour. The pizza on the other hand is the most nastiest thing I've ever eaten. Cardboard and dry. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I could probably rant forever but I think I will stop. Writing this is frustrating. read more

Costco, if you have never been is this huge warehouse that sells almost any item you can think of, in bulk and usually at a discounted price from regular price (though no offense Costco, sometimes I can get way better deals at supermarkets outside at a smaller quantity than at Costco). My family also can't eat as much as Costco usually sells. We don't really keep much in the freezer, so it's usually useless to us to get a membership. The pharmacy here is really good, though it does take around an hour on weekends before I can get my prescriptions. I'm pretty happy that when we visited this Costco with a cash card. When we visit and purchase items, we usually get a man bugging us extensively to get a Costco membership card. Yes, I get it, it's their job, but it can get frustrating when we just want to pay and leave. read more

Not much of a review needed for shopping at Costco. Who doesn't love shopping at Costco?! This place has everything. Most recently, I found out they sell whole lamb carcasses for $99.99!! My review is for the fast food they serve (pizza, hot dogs, sausages, fries and ice cream). I had a Polish Sausage and a poutine. The sausage tasted like a beef Weiner and didn't have much flavour, although for $1.50, it's not bad. It even comes with a refillable pop! If you ever had Costco fries, you know how awesome it is. I decided to add gravy and cheese curds to their awesome fries to make it a poutine. MISTAKE. The cheese curds they use has no taste whatsoever and the gravy was barely warm. I went for an eye exam yesterday at their optical center located on the outside of the building on the right of the entrances. Very friendly staff and great service. I booked my appointment for 5 pm and got there at 4:50 pm. The secretary sanitized the eye pressure machine and then checked my eyes. After that I was called into the office for my comprehensive eye exam (which only costs $85 and you don't need a Costco membership); it only took a couple minutes. The doctor then asked if I wanted to dilate my pupils to check my eye health. Very friendly and very quick (there was only one other client). I finished my appointment around 5:15 pm. I was told to come back in 2 years or if my eyes worsen before then, I could come back sooner. Although I don't think I'll need to come back, I would definitely choose to come here again. read more

Only downside to this place is the parking, carts are scarce & lines can be long. You can find so many things here that are good quality, especially their fruits. Don't think I've ever had a bad fruit that I bought from costco, so in my opinion it's worth the expensive price. So many snacks you can buy, both healthy and unhealthy. You can even get everyday things, such as fans, batteries, blankets, pjs, and the list goes on. I'm mainly here to review the food. Costco has some really good food to get, so waiting in the long line to cash out isn't really that bad. I've tried the chicken strips with fries which is one of the more expensive meals & the fries are really good but the chicken strips disappoint. I would just buy the fries separately, with gravy ofc because it's really good. Normally, I get either the sundae or the $1.50 sausage . Always go for the sausage not the hot dog, makes a world of a difference. For $1.50 you get a sausage and a large drink, what a great deal. They used to have more toppings such as horse radish, onions, etc. But now they've simplified it to hot peppers, mustard, ketchup & real basic things. Regardless amazing deal. The ice cream is also really good!! I think at the woodbine location they actually give you more ice cream in the cone and sundae. It's still cheap though $1.99 for a cone (vanilla, chocolate, twist) & $2.29 for a Sunday (chocolate, berry). I always get the berry sundae so refreshing and good, as far away from artificial as a syrup gets. The cones are also good. read more

It's Costco. How could it not be awesome? You can get everything here from life to death! Outdoor, indoor, recreation, food, crafts, etcetcetc. I love that it's always organized for self serve shopping. Food samples are always a bonus, especially since we all tend to get hungry when going grocery shopping. My parents tend to get prescriptions here as well which is great! Good prices, and it takes a while to fill the prescription so we just end up shopping around! And they have a mini food court so you can have a hot dog or a nice pizza while you wait. I love the soft serve. Best part of dinner is coming here to get a giant soft serve cone!! Delicious! :) Staff are amazing. Years of coming to Costco and I have yet to meet a cashier who is rude. If you are lucky, you'll get Deanna, a particularly friendly staff that I've seen a few times. She's nice and really really friendly, no matter how stressed she is. :) I hope her supervisors know just how wonderful she makes our Costco visits. read more

I prefer this Costco over the Woodbine location in some ways. For one, it's much easier to find parking here as the lot isn't shared with other equally busy establishments. The store is about the same size as the Woodbine location, but much less busy. The lineups for the cash are nowhere near as hectic as the other location, so you're in and out rather quick. The selections are about the same, though the setup is a little different, with the food aisles on the left side looking from the entrance instead of the right side. With the added bonus that it's near my house, this would be my main Costco location if I need to buy bulk. Though I don't really shop/travel on Markham Road much... read more

This by far is my favourite Costco. It's remote enough from the TTC and the Chinese community so it isn't as crowded. In addition there are a few plazas with a variety of food aside from non Hakka (ie non-ridiculously spicy Chinese) that I can partake in either before or after shopping. They have a larger variety of food and have a separate dairy walk in fridge with larger versions of the natrel milk lactose free. It still lacked their old Kirkland blue colour packaging bacon aka the low sodium bacon. read more

Didn't find out what all the hype was about until I finally set my foot into Costco 2 years ago when one finally opened just 2 mins from my house. My initial thought was "IS EVERYTHING ON SALE?!?!?". Everyone in the store was stalking up like they're waiting for the zombie apocalypse! So as a noob, I tried to fit in and loaded my cart with items just because I have never seen bulk sizes at ridiculous size. Big mistake, most of the food I bought end up either in the garbage cause they expire or somewhere hidden in the very back of the kitchen cupboard cause I was so sick of eating it. But back to why I like this location over other locations around the GTA... specifically compared to Woodbine location. 1. Parking is easy in and out. 2. Much cleaner and tidier on most of the aisles. 3. Less busy and chaotic inside and outside I never had to use their auto service but apparently they're prices are quite competitive and service is also timely. It's quite hard to tell if you are saving much since you will be paying $100 annual membership and buying more just because it's in bulk. But I would totally recommend it if you have a larger family and you enjoy grocery shopping. It beats going to no frills or walmart. So if you're Woodbine Costco goer, give this Markham Rd location a try. I have coworkers that actually drives the extra distance over the Woodbine location lol Go bulk or go home! read more

Costco is the place to go for quality groceries at a value price! I come here to buy the items that I usually need in bulk such as bottled water, frozen veggies, and eggs. SERVICE: very efficient when busy on weekends as the cashing in and out moves quickly. There is usually one person assisting with moving the groceries onto the scanning lane and transporting them back to the cart. FOOD: all locations serve hot and ready foods such as oven baked chicken, pizza, hot dogs, and fries which all taste great at a very affordable price! You can get a 1/2 footlong hot dog and soft drink for $1.50....now about a cheap tasty lunch? During the lunch hours, there are food demos with free samples so come here if you're hungry!
