    Pop Mart is coming soon

I'm impressed that Westfield Old Orchard continues to bring in new tenants, even though it seems other traditional malls are dying. I'm excited for Blue Bottle Coffee, Sweetgreen and Pop Mart. I just went to the new Lego Store and I saw that Abercrombie & Fitch is here and open.

03/08/26 - Beautiful winter day @ Westfield Old Orchard. Everyone is out enjoying the brief break in the winter cold. It's been a harsh winter in quite a few years so everyone is out trying to get some sun. Out in da sun having some fun.

First time here. Really large in door and out door mall. Really nice walking areas and with lots of shops. I really think the koi pond is so pretty. We will be back in the future to shop more.

I love the idea of open air malls so I had to give Old Orchard a visit. What a great collection of anchor stores and smaller boutiques. Whether you are looking for home accessories or clothing for your next work out, you will find it here. Plenty of parking made the shopping experience a breeze.

Westfield Old Orchard has everything you could think of--a great selection of stores from books, food, technology, and high-end retail. I've had pleasant experiences with staff from every store I've been to. This area is great in general for shopping but Westfield Old Orchard makes it cute and fun!

Going to Westfield mall is always a good time. They have a ton of stores to shop at. Whenever I go, I always feel as if I am out of state shopping somewhere. It's my favorite outdoor mall. They also have plenty of dining restaurants to visit after a long day of shopping. I love the common area where there is seating snd the pond with coy fish. What a nice added touch.

Being an outdoor mall expect that the parking is going to be difficult on good weather days. The mall seems to turn over a lot of stores, but it does seem to be improving it's retail and restaurant choices. There are a lot of high end stores, and a lot of stores that are up and coming (ex. Vuori, Fabletics, ALO) that don't have any other easy to get to Northwest Suburban locations. So the selection is definitely there. The service needs to be judged separately for each of store. However the additional 1% mall tax on an already high tax area is what is contributing to the lower rating. You can generally find similar stores at other Northwest Illinois shopping areas and you may already get a 5% savings due to lower overall taxes.

Not sure if this place is renovating or just gave up on itself. Not many options... lots of construction.

Ask the Community - Westfield Old Orchard

Does anyone know when they put the Christmas trees up?

I believe right before Halloween or right after. 2022 was before Halloween

Is this mall dog friendly for well trained dogs? The westfield's in California all are so I wasn't sure if that is the same for all outdoor westfields

Yep! At least the outdoor part of the mall, some stores may let you bring a small dog inside if you ask. I've been to an art fest here & there were several dogs walking around outside.

The massive area was previously the site of the Glenview Naval Air Station and this shopping center is the heart of the huge Glen residential community as well. There are numerous shops and restaurants here and it's always a pleasant experience to visit. Like Fashion Outlets in Rosemont, every time we visit there is something new here. One business or another has left and another has stepped in. The rent must be high here, and if you don't continually draw the requisite traffic, you won't survive. We've seen a lot of businesses come and go. Remember Ted's Montana Grill? - it was a favorite of ours and also one of the first to disappointingly close in our earlier years, and that's now The Oak at the Glen, and in a prime location. Some of our favorite and long standing and still standing businesses here are Von Maur, Dick's Sporting Goods, and the Yard House. I could probably name another 20 shops or restaurants we liked or tried here, but that have all since closed. Jibek Jolu is a relatively recent addition that we like for what that's worth. We were going to try Dee's Place (soul food) one day, but dang, they closed before we even got to it, and that was a big investment in a large space for that restauranteur, and too bad. It can get busy and crowded, but nicely there is alway parking to be found in one of their parking lots. Oh well, business is tough here for the tenants, but for us consumers, this is a great upscale town center.

The only reason I'm giving it three stars frankly is because even in the last almost 20 years I believe that they've been open unfortunately there's been a lot of turnover when it comes to the restaurants. I'm not sure if this is simply due to high rent, but there's really nothing that the Glen or its Landlord are doing in order to provide any real stability and it's rather unfortunate. Also, since this place was built, the parking situation has always been a challenge and it continues to be. In fact, it just gets worse with all these special parking places and reserve spaces that continue on the main strip. I do hope that things get better, but with the way that it has been structured and built there really is no opportunity for expansion whether being retail and restaurant space or even for parking I will say it's been great to see the movie theater Von Maur as an example of two establishments that have been here I believed the entire time this place has been open Similar to a lot of other moles, there's a lot of empty spaces and vacancies and it's very sad especially when it's surrounded by million dollar homes in a suburb of additional multimillion dollar homes

I see that the Bear Paddle Swim School is under construction, Rock Star Nails recently opened and one of my faves, Barnes & Noble, continues to do well here. There are also some small boutiques that I love--the Half Price Books is a terrific store where I always get good deals on hard to find books and rare CDs. The food options are good and well-placed, for what is essentially a series of wonkily-positioned strip malls. You won't go hungry at this shopping center. There are a bunch of fast food places clustered in the north-east section of the shopping center (Panda Express, Corner Bakery, and a Penn Station East Coast Subs), a few on the north-west side (Subway, Jersey Mike's), and sit down, stand-alone restaurants that ring the parking lot (Chili's and Outback Steakhouse). Near the AMC Movie Theater, there's a Buffalo Wild Wings, Village Roadhouse, and a Red Robin. I still have nostalgia for the huge CompUSA that used to be here. It's where I bought my first "real" computer--the Bondi Blue iMac in 1998. I also miss the Pier 1 that closed back in early 2000 (the sign is still currently up). If you're taking public transit from the city, catch the Pace 290 from the Howard Station of the Red Line, and it'll drop you across the street from the mall. If you're driving, good luck--this mall has a reputation for the roads and parking lots in front being oddly placed. I think there's also a parking garage for the AMC Movie Theater, too.

Number one I think the old school aesthetic that really makes it feel Homie and less like a modern factory. Also, all the people who work here are so super nice and there's always a lot of people working here so this looks like the opposite of any other department store Also, during Christmas, they will wrap anything that you buy there for free and you even get choices which is so incredible because no place offers that anymore outside of Neiman Marcus They always have something good to select from and when I first started shopping there in my 20s the younger section was always very much on Trend. They have some really good brands that they care that you can also find at Nordstrom for example, you can find UGGs Nike Adidas coach, great beauty and fragrances, etc. I'm not giving them a perfect five stars because I do wish that part of the store had been renovated over the years or just kind of updated would've been great And also for people who don't know, they also have their own credit card and if you need a department store credit card, they actually charge you 0% Not sure if that's still the case today, but it was back then so what that meant was as long as you paid the minimum they didn't charge you any APR or finance charges.
