I've not had the greatest of luck at this store, especially since they just rearranged the entire store again. Not sure why Costco corporate tells the stores to rearrange everything. Either way I'm writing this review to address an amazing feature that I love. As I was looking for a self checkout or a service lane to checkout I pushed my cart to the shortest line and a very nice woman whose name was Helen offered to scan all items while I was in line. This feature is the greatest thing Costco has added, Helen was very nice, and scanned everything fast and instructed me to tell the cashier that everything was already scanned. Helen(member since 2025) probably in her late 40s early 50s, she was the nicest person at this Costco I've dealt with. I've had plenty of encounters with management on items that had no tag and made me go back and find another one, instead of looking it up in the system. I've had bad service just walking out and being profiled by the receipt checkers taking extra long and counting my items 3 times. But by far by a long shot Helen was the best encounter I've had with any employee at any Costco on the east coast. Costco thank you for hiring Helen and thank you for adding this scan while in line system. But also Costco corporate please stop moving the entire store around. This store generally does have some really great selection, cast iron pans, black and white cookies, boiled eggs already peeled, and some other items that are generally hard to find or out of stock at other locations, and the value you get for most items is quite amazing. I hope in the future Costco starts stocking the fairlife milk products. I just wanted to shed a light and make sure you take care of my new favorite employee Helen. Like most reviews say - this store is HORRIBLE! mainly because the crowd demand is much greater than capacity. Every time I come here, I dread just parking alone, as that can take some time due to the traffic ON the facility and shoppers who constantly walk in front of cars looking to park. Then, once you finally find a spot and start to head towards the entrance, you once again dread the harassment of scanning you membership into the machine, and if you do not - the workers will literally harass you about not having done it! I actually had to let a few of them know to leave alone. I came to shop - not to get harassed! My card is on my phone and I just hate going through to COME INTO the place. Then, once you are in, it is so crowded that the only reason to be there is to get something that is on sale for better prices than other places or if you have a lot of shopping to do. If you find yourself only wanting a handful of things, it may not be worth the hassle. The other shoppers don't watch where they are going and most shop as if they are the only ones in the store. Then if one bumps into you, they will act like it's your fault. Then when you are finally ready to check out, if you want the self-checkout, you have to muscle your way into the line and maintain your position, because unaware shoppers in front of you may let someone cut the line because they were not paying attention. Then, the self-checkout attendants will watch SOME of us while not looking at others. I could have 3 things, others could have two carts full, but somehow I look like I might be the thief. On top of that, Costco does treat their members like thieves, as you have to check in to come in, then they watch and check when you checkout, and check you again when you leave. In fact, leaving is another problem, because the lines can be so long and some people walk so slowly or even stop while leaving, holding others up. Don't even bother getting a pizza either, because no matter how early you ordered, you might always find yourself being an afterthought, even once customers have cleared, and you still have not gotten your pizza made! They may not have spots to do this, but they did expand the parking and added a tire place, but they need to build another location, because this parking and traffic are insane! There is on in Port Chester, and in general you feel better about going there - in you are there, but it's two floor setup can be a pain too, but at least parking and checking out are not problems. Then again, their traffic is about half as much as Norwalk's, with what looks to be almost twice the size. I had a membership years ago, and these points are why I left Costco, but I did forget the most annoying parts - until I got the card again! I will not renew again, because I don't like fighting for parking and getting hassled while going into the place. Sam's and BJ's don't do this. read more

Recycling machines require regular repairs and maintenance. While we promote recycling, the machines often malfunction when it's time to use them, and the staff responsible for replacing full bags isn't always available. We aim to set a good example for our children by demonstrating the importance of recycling, but we're often confronted with long wait times and frequently out-of-order equipment. The staff giving out the samples are lovely- great free samples today, Cheetos, boba tea, kombucha lemonade, Coq10 liquid, turmeric liquid, granola, dressed salad, Gouda cheese. Etc etc. The hot dog was fantastic- first time trying it. The chicken bake was salty AF and barely edible. Excited to try this bulgogi beef that was on sale. Update: The bulgogi beef was overall okay. Unimpressed with the texture and the flavor could have used some more heat/spice, wouldn't buy again but was happy to try it at the sale price. read more

First of all the parking lots are complete disaster. It's the worst Costco parking lot I've ever seen in my life. Once you park and go in it's not too bad. I bought Yankee tickets and went home and registered them and then they were not in any of my accounts. I tried three different places. I had to send them an electronic message to say WTF. Then I went to the optical section on a Sunday, which is my primary reason for being there. It was closed. I've never been to a Costco in my life where the optical department closed on a Sunday. There is a sign that basically said they weren't able to hirer enough employees and that's why they're not on standard hours. I got a suggestion; pay more F'ing money. It's 1-2 star as a Costco but a 3* as a store. read more

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE IN ALL OF NORWALK and clearly, their pharmacists did not take the Pharmacist's Oath, as if you dare go their with the wrong insurance (you know, the kind for poor people), they have **no issue whatsoever** simply denying you medically necessary prescriptions. That's **perfectly in line** with putting a patient's needs first -- especially when they called (because they have Covid) and would not let you give them the information over the phone, so you had to have someone go to that HORRIFIC thing they call a parking lot and navigate the savages that roam free in that place, only to have them not get your prescriptions because of your AUDACITY, ABSOLUTE AUDACITY to be poor. I just wanted to comment on the customer service that I got from calling about an item that was out of stock at the Nanuet NY location. After countless calls in the tri-state area and speaking to the most UNHELPFUL administrative staff members I've ever encountered; I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Luis at this location. He was extremely helpful and very personable. It turns out that they have 6 of the items (contrary to 2 phone calls I had where they LIED claiming there were none left in the NY/NJ/CT) Costco needs to hire more people like Luis who actually appreciate their job by delivering excellent customer service!!! The recent announcement of the changes to the rotisserie chicken is misleading as they attempt to have the customer focus on the packaging. The real change is that the original weight of the chicken was close to 5 lbs. At $4.99 that was a real value. The customer will now pay $4.99 for the much smaller chicken at 3 lbs. That is a massive price increase! And yes, the new packaging is a huge problem to transport as leakage and difficulty in cleanly removing the bird once it is brought into the home is very messy. Still very tender and flavorful but not nearly the value it once was. read more

This Costco is a...Costco. You know what you're getting when you go: bulk items, maybe some new glasses, 15 minutes of waiting in line, and a churro to go. The lines are pretty long so beware of weekends. Parking is insane unless you go to the basement (stop being lazy and just go down there...you'd be surprised by the amount of spots open). They always have what you need in stock. It makes you feel awful when you pass the hundreds of plastic water bottles and you secretly judge the people buying them. The samples are delicious (and no one is judging when you grab two- one for the S.O but it's really for you). The optometrist is great, they're my go-to since I don't have insurance. And at the end of all of the hullabaloo, grab some hotdogs and enjoy your gallon of mayonnaise and 300 count bottle of Zantac! Did I make you stressed reading this? Good. I had an extremely negative experience with the Hearing Aid department. Trying to get a replacement for my mother who is now wheelchair bound living in a nursing home. After several phone calls, and two in-store visits to sign paperwork, I got a call from the "doctor" there telling me that I cannot order a replacement (they were seven months old). I offered to pay full price and she said no, and that my mother would need to come in for a hearing test. What part of "living in a nursing home wheelchair bound" don't you get?! Plus, since moms membership had expired and they wouldn't accept mine, I had to renew my mothers card before they could help me. So I rushed back to the store and demanded a refund of her membership fee since she's 91 wheelchair bound in a nursing home. She could have been nice and helpful, but chose to be rude and defiant. Little Napoleon complex Costco audiologist, hope you feel good about yourself. An old lady struggles to hear because of you. NEVER GOING BACK. The parking lot is a war zone. The produce is awful. A fairly basic Costco. The parking lot is a complete disaster. It has an entry/exit choke point where people who stop and wait for a space to empty can force you to sit for fifteen minutes to get into the lot. Unfortunately that makes this a destination to go to only if you must. I compare it to Brookfield CT which is infinitely better and even has a Costco liquor store using the same building and a Costco gas station offering consistently lower gas prices. In my travels I have gone to Costco in different parts of the country and they are definitely set up differently. The best I have been to are in Southern California (LA and San Diego). read more

Having been going to this Costco since 2012 I can confidently say that they have literally fed and supported my family for a decade. The employees are hard working, friendly, and helpful. The selection and produce are high quality and their Kirkland brand top notch. The parking lot design is awkward, but there is a parking lot beneath accessed from the northwestern end of the lot which always has many spaces available and allows for walking to the front door under a covered walkway. This best part about this Costco is Jimmy. He's the best. Oh, what's that you say? I know the employees names? Why yes I do, since I've been shopping here since the store opened like 15-20 years ago. Also, none of them recognize me. Ever. I don't know what a horrible review for Costco does, but worth a shot as I recently been told about all these new rules this warehouse has. Fascinating. You can't return expired food even 1 day after it expired even if it went bad before the expiration date. You cannot return clothes after you shop only before you shop. Who knew? There are many questions here when a customer returns. So be ready. When I asked where these rules are posted - the manager said many of their warehouse rules are not in writing. And, there are many more unwritten rules, so better bring your magic 8 ball! The returns counter is horrible. They actually accused me of stealing once. Shocked, I asked them to look up the purchases and they found them. WTF?! The pharmacy is the worst. Optical, the grumpiest people of all time. Photo is decent but their machine breaks a lot. The parking lot feels like a school for the blind. But, the food quality is why we shop there. So yay for delivery! read more

the eyewear department is poorly run. they use a numbering system and then fail to use the numbers for the customers' turns! i've never seen that done anywhere---why have the number machine and the number board if you are going to ignore it all ? Five people standing in line with numbers and the board wasn't being updated. We all stood there like dopes. Two of the eyewear employees are rude. The two young guys are very nice. Love this Costco. No matter how crowded, we're always in and out and the self checkout is quick. The parking is never a problem if you park on the lower level and love the wide parking spaces. Great to do lower level if the weather is lousy and you don't want to be outside. Store staff is usually very friendly so don't know why there's negative reviews about them. This isn't the closest costco to me... but I make sure to find my way here in norwalk anyway! The selection of electronics is pretty great here, compared to the one in Port Chester. The underground parking is great and the service was pretty good today. Some people say that the TV's at costco are a little behind on the times, but honestly... the selection is awesome. I've purchased two TV's from here at perfect prices. The PIZZA in their little food stand is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Super cheesy and nicely balanced with the sauce and the crust. The chicken bake is ANOTHER favorite of mine! Make sure to take one to go and have it at home. When you get lucky, sometimes they'll have the FRESHLY DIPPED ice cream bars -- and they do it right in front of you. If you like nuts, they give you nuts too! Make sure to keep your receipt out until you exit the building! Just like all of the other wholesale companies out there, they check your receipt prior to you exiting. Oh, and I suggest you go "Executive" with the costco membership. They guarantee that you'll get a minimum rebate/cash back of $50 if you go with the executive membership. Does anyone at Costco corporate care about this location? We all are going to Costco anyway these days but note that this particular Costco experience kinda blows. Been to many Cc's across the country and this store ranks amongst the lowest in service. Some very nice checkout folks mixed in with some half assed workers. The "help desk" seems annoyed with the clientele. Not good. The biggest negative though is the parking situation which is confusing mess for those arriving and a rat trap for those trying to get out. read more

This Costco is rather clean... the lines tend to move fast... and I do love the no questions asked policy on returns. Last year, I purchased a $750 item; long story short, it broke over a year later. I took it back, and they settled the matter in a matter of minutes. In less that 15 minutes, I had a new one, loaded in the car... again, no questions asked... My only issue, getting in and out of this place can really be a pain in the ass!!! they really should post people outside to control the traffic flow... someone will get hurt trying to get in and out of their parking lot. read more

I have seen this place both packed and pretty empty however the vast number of register means the lines always stay short. The parking lot can get busy But there is an underground garage with an elevator that can make your trip easy. Also you can never go wrong with the free samples.....And you can spend $100 here easy!!! My only complaint is that they do not well any alcohol...Not Even beer! But I have a feeling that due to CT state law instead of Costco. The food court is nice. Service is fast and the food is always good. I have had better churros so I would Skip out on that but otherwise the Hot dog and soda for $1.50 is a steal! read more

Please do something about the optical section. I went to pick up my glasses today and waited 74 minutes in line. JUST TO PICK UP MY ORDER!!!! One optician spent more than 55 min with a single customer to help him pick out frames while ignoring everyone else. The other optician then took a break and no one was helping to address the 8+ people in line. Maybe one optician taking care of pickups and the other taking care of new orders? Or give us a pager so we can shop while we wait like restaurants do? Or add more opticians during peak hours? Or have the opticians wait on other customers in line while a person picks out their frames? Or something!!!!! This is unacceptable. read more
