Marshall's is great - they have a very wide selection of merchandise at great prices. The store is laid out easily so finding what you are looking for is simple. Don't expect to see employees waiting to help you out - Marshall's is really self- service. But the layout will help you locate what you need. Once you find what you were looking for, they have a lot of checkout stations by the exit. Each is numbered and, while you are in line, as the line moves and stations open, the number of station that opened is called out for the next person in line. Their checkout process is very efficient. While I don't go there often, when there is something I need that I believe Marshall stocks, I do check it out. read more

Located in the Woodfield Village Green Strip Mall, across the street from Woodfield Mall, Marshalls-Schaumburg was very well stocked with designer clothes at the expected marked off prices. It was also very nice to see a huge selection of men's clearance items, with Ralph Lauren Polos occupying large rack space. This resulted in the same style being available in different sizes and colors, though I wouldn't consider the prices yet to be bottom clearanced. I've been going to this Marshalls location for YEARS now (literally 15+ years - whew!) First off, their parking situation is great and easy; they have tons of parking right in front of Marshalls and for the strip mall Marshalls is located in in general. Finding a parking spot is never an issue - only when it gets super busy on weekends, you may have to park way in the back but it's still an easy walk over. The staff here is usually really nice. I've never had any issues with rude staff members. The only thing I noticed over the years is that I don't think I've ever seen the same staff member here more than twice, so I expect they have high turnover as most big shopping chains do. Also, I'm always impressed with how quick the checkout line goes. Sometimes there's a 15-person line in front of you and you will be at the front in under 10 minutes. Other times there is 0 people in line, it really all depends when you go! They usually have a few cash registers open, too. The clothes and products here are a hit or miss. Yes, I've definitely seen my fair share of ripped or stained clothes and half broken or chipped products (home decor, kitchen equipment, etc.), but seriously, isn't that at every Marshalls and TJ Maxx? Usually with clothes it's way less often, but I probably see at least one tainted product per visit. In general, I do like their home and clothes sections. The store itself is spacious and has a plethora of products for you to choose from. I get most of my gym attire here, along with candles, fuzzy socks, various clothing items (jeans and tops mostly), blankets, and home decor. They seem to put more effort into the women's side. This particular location I have good luck at. Once upon a time for office clothes, now its great for home clothes. This is store is on the small side so selections are limited . With that said, the store is very clean and organized. The staff was amazing. They are very welcoming and very helpful. Full price + in season + first run clothing? Too rich for my blood. In fact, if I go to a store and see something that isn't already in a bin and doesn't have a deodorant stain or make-up smear already on it, I don't even have to look at the price tag to know I can't afford it. I mean, there was an era where I could take part in those luxuries, but then as time went on those little nice things that I so often liked to buy really started to add up and eventually I was no longer a mid-twenty something forward-dressing fashonista on a seemingly limitless budget. Today I stand before you a (oh god, this is the first time I've typed this out) late-twenty something broke-ass bargain betty who has worn the same black jeans covered in cat hair and over-sized denim button down for virtually the past 3 weeks. What!? I've been busy. And I have every intention of wearing something different on Thursday this week. So, myeh. Anyway, I come here in lieu of my former days of endlessly perusing the real realm of retail (Woodfield Mall) across the street. Now I find myself scavenging for tags with yellow dots or red sharpie lines drawn through them. The selection here isn't great by any means and I swear on my life this location is some sort of meet-ups.com location for gypsy caravans as I've seen gypsy families on more than one occasion come in in a large group, cause a loud scene arguing in the store, children grabbing at everything, loading carts, switching price tags, and then standing in line to try and bargain, haggle and hornswoggle the cashiers over every item. It can be amusing, but not when you're in line behind them or when you think you might be at risk of being pick-pocketed by a 4 year old while you try to eyeball the prices on jars of old artisan olives. Lucky or unlucky for these all too frequent cray cray customer instances, it's made the store staff pretty hardened but at the same time very tolerant. Even this past weekend when I had taken a Nerf gun I'd found on the ground there and began aiming kill-shots in the menswear accessory section mirrors, the employees took one look, walked right up and asked my boyfriend if we needed any help finding anything. A ballsy move by the Marshall's team, and I can appreciate that. Just do yourself a favor and never shop retail on the weekends. It's never worth it. read more

The store was clean, quite organized and a bit busy on my last visit. We are looking for stuffs we need for the holidays and the we were able to get it in here. We got different home decors for the holidays at a fair and reasonable price. It was also in a good condition and I think we would be still able to use it for the next years. We also found sales on wonderful selection clothes and shoes and I bought some because it is a great deal at the same time perfect gift since we are planning to give some for the less fortunate people. There is a line when we where in the checkout but the staff in there was fast and friendly too. It was a nice experience in the store. Talk about a great clothing store for shopping. You will find the best deals ever going to marshals. The best part is that the closing is all really good brands. I don't know how the story gets all of those items but it is always significantly marked down. You will find items that are up to 50% off the retail value. Brands such as Nike, Adidas and Michael Kors are found here. I suggest that you hit up the clearance section 1st because those items aren't even way less expensive. Sometimes the sizes are tough to find but if you have enough time and patience you will get the clothes that you want. They also sell luggage and jewelry and other items. Gift cards are also available for family and friends. The return policy is pretty flexible. So you have nothing to lose by buying something even if you don't like it you can later always return it. read more

How can you not like Marshalls? You get great deals here, so there's a lot to like. However, great deals attracts a lot of people. A lot of people creates crowds and long lines. The 1 thing I don't like about Marshalls is when it gets so crowded you are on top of each other. Almost every time I'm there, I have to go around someone looking at the same items I'm looking at. I go to marshals A lot and this is I would say my primary place to go shopping. So was it getting a three star? Even though the prices are well the customer service isn't always the greatest and the lines are not always the quickest. I say not always because sometimes they are but most times they are not and I've actually left and said forget about it rather wait in line to get something. The main reason this is getting a three-star not a four-star is because every time they've asked me for a donation of a dollar, which is not a lot and I understand that, and I say no they act like I'm a cheap person and is the worst thing I could've done. I have a literally donated tens of thousands of dollars and to be made to feel cheap not cool. Plus, if I give money I'll choose to do so and have myself rewarded. Not give Marshalls money at checkout for them to turn around and say they donated the money and get the tax break. While it may seem a good deed they are doing I am quite sure the are getting a nice tax break for the money people donate. read more

11/2021 2* AVOID MARSHALLS! Store itself may be ok. I did not shop this time. Had to return an item that we received as a gift. Bad move! We normally buy things, not return them at Marshalls. We were not going to use the item we received. Have a gift receipt and we know the people who bought it used either cash or a credit card. So in most places, we get cash back. NOT AT MARSHALLS!!! Company policy. They give you a gift card. So you MUST come back here. Great marketing ploy. However, BAD for customers or potential customers. We will come back and get our money out of your company. But you have lost us as customers. We never knew the return policy of our gifts was so bad. We will not spend more than our gift card. My new go to nail spot. I get dip nails and they look and feel very natural. Not the big bubble nails like at other local salons. I've had almost all of the nail techs so far and what I'd say is everyone in the first row of the salon does a fabulous job. I had one woman in the back corner that took sooo long and made my nails very spiky rather than almond shaped. But still it was better than other local places. I would highly recommend. read more

If you like treasure hunts, look no further. The prices here are pretty good, and I always get caught up in looking at all of the eclectic items they have in stock. They have a wide variety of clothing for the entire family and they seem to be priced pretty well. I usually end up looking at things that I do not need. Then I think I need them. This particular Marshalls offers a huge selection. I was able to find a number of books, videos and toys that my son wanted for dirt cheap. I also bought him several pairs of Levi's, shirts, and socks for back to school. For myself, I bought 3 dresses. I was completely happy with what we purchased. I spent about $200 for 15 items. A total bargain. My complaint however, is with their cashier, Rebecca. Clearly, I had no issue with what I was spending. She did not seem to be happy that one of the dresses that I was purchasing was marked down to $7. She seemed to think that I had changed the price tag and requested that a price check be done on my item. She claimed that the yellow sticker did not match the sku. There was an entire rack of the same dress marked down with the same labels! I thought that it was insulting that she would think that I would try to save a few bucks on one dress when obviously money wasn't an issue to me. We had to wait 10 minutes in line while another sales associate searched for my item and validated that I was correct and not in the wrong. Seriously, she needs to take a lesson in customer service and word her accusation more carefully. P.S. Upon arriving home, I inspected the price tag. Their item numbers consist of the department, season, category, and price. The yellow sticker matched all of the above except that it had the new price at the end. Just had a great experience. I think we all know this kind of shopping is hit or miss, but I hit the big one today. Sam Edelman Lorissas (the super spikey heel, peep toe) $60! Shut the front door!...I don't even say that. But seriously. WOW. I also went to another one of the discount stores right next-door and they did have the same shoes still at over $100. I got super lucky. They only had two sizes, and one of them happened to be mine. I did snag a fancy collapsable lunch box and skull candy headphones though along with my Edelman's. You can totally find good deals, you just might not always happen to find something....or in your size. If my friend Keith R. hadn't suggested Melanie R. and I meet him here it wouldn't have even crossed my mind. Just reminds me that you have to go in and check these places out every now and then. I stopped in there yesterday and the shoe side of the store looked like a hurricane went trough it. I couldn't find anything. There were opened boxes and shoes all over the floor. Everything was out of place. What was in the boxes didn't match the display shoes and were off by a whole isle. I quickly walked trough and left. Extremely unorganized. Who needs to find much needed school bags and new school shoes for the kiddies at reasonable prices that keeps the bank account in the black? Me. Shopping at this location you can find varied styles for all the family members from head to toe. I had to find backpacks that fit the styles of my kids and shoes with hard to find sizes. Lucky for me Marshalls had styles and prices that ranged for every need. My kids found a backpack that was not too 'babyish' and I found that the backpacks were priced in wide ranges. This allowed me to give my kids 3-4 selections to choose from. The range of shoes were just right and although the pickings were not that of your local shoe store there were pretty ones with straps and gym shoes with cool laces. We found the hard to find sizes in shoes that fit the utility need and were up to date. The location of this Marshalls is ideal for wanting to find items that are in season at prices well below the full price tag. Of course if this is not what you are looking for go across the street. Full price items can certainly be found at the mall. Note: The bathrooms are located by the shoe department. Easily handicap accessible as my daughter was able to use the electronic push plate against the wall that opens the door automatically. Just make sure you use the lock when getting inside. We accidentally surprised an older lady who failed to lock the door behind her for the use of this single facility. Since the door is automatic the ease and speed of closing the door was halted from the handicap features. The unknown bathroom patron was displayed like a Macy's window during the Holiday season along State Street! I apologized with utmost grace and proceeded to use the other bathroom and securely locked the door. read more

This particular Marshall's is my favorite, I always find great things, especially in the home goods. On the downside, the aisles are narrow and crowded, sometimes so narrow you can't get a cart through. As with other Marshall's, the checkout lanes are slow and they never seem to have enough open, but if you can get past that, this place is great. read more

For Men's wear the best Marshall's I have visited bar none. The one on River North may have a few more suits at times, but this one is close. Outstanding quantity of men's shirts and ties. Plenty of Ralph Lauren dress shirts (polos, too) and not just in crazy sizes. Another brand I have terrific luck with is Forsyth of Canada in men's shirts. Nice deep spreads on the collars, easily accommodating a full Windsor knot, interesting textures,and sharp tailoring. Be sure to check the hanging rack, as any shirts that are opened usually end up there. The necktie selection is flush with Haines & Bonner, Beau Brummels, and Countess Maras., all brands I have good luck with for durability. Usually stocked with a good sized amount of Nautica as well, though I have had terrible results with shirts falling apart after only a few washings, so I steer clear of that brand now. Deep in belts as well. Great part too is there are other "outlet" shops such as Nordstrom Rack, Off 5th, Neiman Matcus' Last Call, and more in the same strip mall. Makes foor excellent discount shopping excursions. read more

This Marshals is pretty great. They have a better men's selection than any other Marshals I can remember ever going to. Not to mention I'm also 6'6 so the fact that they have a big and tall makes it that much better. The store was jam packed with customers yet stayed very organized and the checkout line moved very fast. I actually scored a Brooks Brothers suit for $300 (usually $899)! This is by far and away the best find I've stumbled upon at a Marshals. Anyway this place is worth the trip, plenty of good finds throughout and you've got other great stores in the same shopping center (Nordstrom Rack, Bloomingdales Outlet, and Saks off 5th). You can easily make a day out of it then hit up one of the local restaurants nearby. I hit up Maggianos! read more

My workplace is pretty casual but, from time to time, I need to dress up a bit for after hours work events. I saw the same style in a fashion magazine so these styles are pretty current!
