I've been consistently disappointed with my experiences at this Costco as of late. While the prices can sometimes seem appealing, the overall shopping experience feels stressful and inconvenient. This store is often overcrowded & currently under construction, parking is difficult, and the checkout lines are extremely long, turning even a simple shopping trip into a frustrating experience. Customer service also feels inconsistent, with employees sometimes seeming too busy to properly assist customers or flat out being rude a**holes The membership fee no longer feels worthwhile considering the limited product availability and frequent out-of-stock items. That said, I've visited other Costco locations that were much cleaner, better organized, and had friendlier staff, so I know the experience can be much better than this particular location. I was hoping to get some gas for my car, but the lines were ridiculously long. Parking was extremely limited, but after driving around, I was lucky to find a parking spot near the entrance. This location is going through some construction and I would avoid it at all costs until construction is completed. I learned my lesson the hard way... I am not usually in the Tustin area anymore, but I was passing through and had a few errands to run in the area and was going to stop by Costco first and then other stores in the immediate area. I wasted so much time trying to find a parking spot to visit Costco and then circling around to find the line for the gas station - and when I found it, it was an extremely long line... I gave up on getting gas, but had a hard time trying to leave the Costco plaza afterwards since some parts of the parking lot were blocked off. read more

I like this Costco location because it has a wide selection of Asian, Vietnamese, and specialty products. I often find items here that aren't available at the Garden Grove or Fountain Valley locations. I've been here twice, and one thing to note is that this Costco either does not carry the $5 rotisserie chicken or it was sold out during my visits , which is usually my favorite Costco item for its quality and price. Customer service is friendly and helpful. However, the gas station is inefficient and often very crowded. This location is also usually busy, and parking can be challenging . read more

Be aware when driving your car in the parking lot of Costco in Tustin at El Camino! Construction is going on. If you get a staple in your tire and need repair, Costco will NOT credit or reimburse you. The contractor is adamant that the construction staple I had in my tire was not theirs. I heard someone else (I do not know who this person was; I just overheard this) had a nail in their tire, and the contractor also said they do not use those nails..... I did not drive anywhere else; I just got gas and drove through the parking lot to Bryan Avenue, and a few hours later my tire was flat. If you had a similar experience. Post it! read more

This Costco has a basic food court with no tables around except for the outside area. You have to place the order inside, the. Walk outside to eat. I ordered the Calzone which is really good, but their salad selection has egg, cheese, bacon, and chicken; I definitely recommend it. It's a different salad from other locations. I don't like their line situation to get the food either, pretty every other Costco has a better line setup to get food, you won't be able to top off your drink or get a re-fill either unless you "re-enter" Costco and walk all around. I love Costco for their huge selection of products, from home goods to alcohol to fresh and packaged foods to tire center to optometry to pharmacy and more! Costco is all about providing value to their customers, so if you need something, you always know that the prices will be pretty good. Sometimes you are better off looking for sales at both Costco and other retailers but in a pinch, you can't really go wrong with Costco, especially with their return policies. Over the years they've gotten slightly more strict with certain return restrictions so just be aware when buying. The parking at Costco is always somewhat of a zoo, but at least the spots are all large. Samples have gone way down since Covid, but they still exist on certain days...just appears to be shorter timeframe and fewer options. That used to be my favorite part of going to Costco...trying all the samples, and many a times I would end up purchasing something I really didn't need...but that's the point of it, right? Lines can sometimes be long especially on weekends, but the self checkout goes relatively quickly, so that's where I usually go. read more

Eyeglass are junk and customer satisfaction is a joke here. Hinge screws loosen immediately. Lady who worked at counter said her pair did the same thing so she is saving for a new pair. Recommended I bring them in to retighten as required. Many times a day? Then carry a screwdriver and other glasses to retighten myself. Came back to department manager he said that I was using the glasses wrong but did a temporary repair so I wouldn't lose the screws if they fell out. Put a thru screw with jam nuts. Issue continues. Custom satisfaction guarantee does not cover eyeglasses. Employees can't repair eyeglasses. They sell no curve junk. West Coast optometry can't believe the lack of quality and service. I'm here to tell you about not only once, but twice, I have received excellent customer service from the tire and battery center at Costco Tustin. Recent battery purchase, everything went excellent. The one thing I want to tell you about, in this particular instance when I came in and bought the batteries, I bought two, Luis pulled the batteries, got the order written up, and the printer went out, so Luis had to take me inside the store. We had to run everything through the cash register inside, just another example of how well Luis handled the situation, not having a working printer and still took care of me. I returned later in the day with the battery cores, and Eddie gave me the refund , once again with courtesy and excellent service. (2) The second example of the finest customer service that I received from anyone in the last 25 years was displayed by "Scotty". On or about 7/28/25. I had to bring in my car because I had a hole in the right rear tire, Luis looked at it, said we had to replace it. It's under warranty, $30. See you in an hour. I came back in an hour, I had a brand new tire. Only there was one small glitch, The rim now had a good portion of the plated chrome missing from the rim which appeared to be new rim damage . A long story short, Luis had me fill out a an incident report, said someone will get back to you, I thought to myself, I'm not gonna hold my breath on this one. Well, guess what?, Scotty, from Costco, Tustin contacted me on 7/30/25 said , that he had reviewed the actual video from the tire center, and that Costco would replace the rim. He then instructed me to get a new one, and Costco will reimburse me, and then Costco will install it. The new rim arrived on 8/10/25. I made an appointment with the tire center for 8/12/25 @ 10 AM. To install the new rim. It wasn't 10 minutes after I put the car in to get worked on and there was Scotty, with the necessary paperwork, and a reimbursement check for the new rim. He was there and gone in three minutes. The main compliment I want to submit to Costco corporate is that he was professional, very considerate throughout the entire process and it restored my faith that there are still people in 2025 that still know how to do business in a professional, respectful, courteous manner. Please forward this response to corporate, I know they have great employees, and they work very hard and hiring good employees, but it's my pleasure to tell you I got the good fortune of having to do business with Scotty, Luis and Eddie at Tustin Costco tire and battery center, and I have had the pleasure to pass it on to everyone I know. We aren't regular Costco shoppers, but once in a blue moon, we stop by to pick up cleaning supplies or electronics because of their excellent return and exchange policy. As many have noted, this is one of the smaller Costco locations, so the product selection isn't extensive, but it's very clean. It's busy, but the lines are manageable, and we've never had a bad customer service experience. The staff has always been pleasant and consistently goes above and beyond at the register to help with any issues we might have. Has anyone run into a big decorative boulder placed at the corner in front of the Costco entrance parking area ?? Well, I did a few days ago when it was raining and traffic was jammed. Turned right a little prematurely and the rock being so tall it jammed into my front door lower panel. Made a claim with Costco but was denied. Said it's not their responsibility at all. Mario, the employee, is not good at customer service. Every Sunday, when we go out for our grocery routine, we end up at his register. He doesn't even say "good morning" or "how are you guys doing" to acknowledge us. He doesn't smile, instead, he gives us a dirty look and seems annoyed with his job. I understand what it's like to have a temporary job, as I do myself, but that doesn't mean you should treat customers poorly like he does. Even on my bad days, I set my feelings aside and deal with them later. While I'm at work, I make sure my customers are satisfied. If he doesn't like working as a cashier, he should be assigned to stocking or another role that doesn't involve customer service. Had an appointment for tires to be mounted and balanced. Was given an estimate of a couple hours. It took way longer than it should have literally almost 6 hours in total. I was even questioned by their tire techs that the tire size I picked was too big and wont fit on the vehicle. I know it will fit because that is what I run on the car. I have aftermarket wheel and run a wider setup but they tried to make me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about that the tires would hit the suspension. I understand if the car had factory wheels and someone is asking something way too wide or something that would stretch but I came in with the same tire as I was getting mounted. Again it shouldn't take 6 hours to mount and balance tires when I have an appointment. read more

My wife and I are very regular Costco shoppers and frequent the Tustin warehouse mostly for the convenience of being so close to home, although it's not our favorite due to the realtively smaller size and fewer items there. We were there recently and in line for some returns. We had just stepped through the small door and were already inside when I decided I needed to go to the restroom whilst my wife stayed in line. I had walked about 10ft when the elderly Asian receipt checker started yelling out LOUD at me to STOP! At first, I didn't know she was calling out to me, but eventually turned around out of curiosity. She went on and on yelling at me, telling me that I had to go throught the front entrance! For goodness sakes, I was just going to the restroom!....we hadn't even begun our regular shopping yet, and had fully intended to exit after our returns were done, and go through the front entrance after we picked up a cart from the outside anyway. I told the lady that I was just heading to the restroom, but she insisted that I had to go throught he front entrance. How ridiculous! Firstly, if we are standing in line, inside the warehouse, it stands to reason that we are Costco members and not just strangers off the street. Secondly, I understand that this may have been Costco's policy and she was just doing her job and following it way too strictly. However, the exit was very crowded, as usual, and I felt so embarrased to be yelled at so loudly in front of everyone, as though I was a little kid at school. She could have use some common sense and better judgment on how to handle this situation much more discretely, like coming up to me, being courteous and professional, and telling just me. Being in initial shock, I just got back into the returns line with my wife and held on to my bladder till we were done. Needless to say, I was rather embarrased, angry, and disappointed with the way this lady spoke to me, and this lingered for much of the day and into the evening. However, upon further reflection on what happened, I started to change my feelings toward this checker lady....whom I had seen at this Costco many dozens of times already. It occured to me that perhaps she was having a bad day at work, at home, and this likely caused her grumpy, rude, and disrespectful demenour. I get it, the world is desperate need of more love, compassion, and understanding, but unfortunately, this not the direction we are heading......it's sad, but this is now the world we live in. So, I am not going to harbor bad feeling toward this checker lady, but would just like to hope and wish that the problems causing her grumpiness, whatever or whereever they may be, are soon lifted, and that she moves on to be happy and enjoy all the wonderful things this amazing world has to offer. Unfortunately, this location is going down the tubes. I was in on Monday 6/2/25 midday to avoid the weekend madness. Oh boy was I wrong. The produce area looked like a garbage dump. Empty boxes everywhere and no one around making any effort to clean it up. The employees that are working I feel bad for because they are working twice as hard to make up for the employees that are there to socialize with other coworkers. Let's be honest... between fighting thru crowds, and searching for relocated products in the warehouse, shopping at any Costco can be a chore. But this location goes the extra mile and makes the shopping experience extra unpleasant with their outrageously rude staff. I can't recall how many times I've asked a worker to locate a product, only to be answered with a strong unwillingness to help. Their response can range from: - an eye roll - points you in a general direction but the item isn't even in the area - "I dont know" - lie and tell you the item isn't available (only for me to stumble onto the product somewhere else in the store) One time I asked for help locating granola bars and the worker immediately looked annoyed that I even asked. She gestured her hand and pointed me to a general direction. I couldn't make out precisely what she was pointing at, so I asked her to clarify. Then she rolls her eyes and mockingly replied with an imitation of a mentally disabled person, "ovurrr DERRR!" And aggressively pointed at a nearby aisle. I don't know what it is about this specific location. Maybe it's the management culture because almost every worker I've interacted with is extra disgruntled, irritable, and disrespectful. Everyone has a look on their face like they REALLY don't want to be there. I get that it's just a job but taking it out on customers is unprofessional and accomplishes nothing. However, it's worth mentioning I have witnessed a handful of instances where the staff have been engaging and helpful, but that seems to reserved for Spanish-speaking "abuela" customers. I guess that shouldn't be a surprise since 90%+ of the staff are Hispanic. Another reason not to frequent this Costco location is they carry a noticeably smaller variety of products compared to other local Costcos. A lot of standard products like their rotisserie chicken aren't available here for some reason. Although I will say they had all the soft serve selections so I was happy but I've noticed it's this person in particular, because it's not the first time I've been given a cup 3/4 full, that doesn't give what you would expect. The person at the other register filled the cup properly. I wouldn't say I got what I paid for considering you can obviously see that there's quite a bit of empty space. Not all Costco locations are created equal, much less able to keep themselves maintained even on a typically busy Sunday. That's my experience with this smaller store in Tustin. We needed a bag of ice and it's already hit or miss whether a given Costco sells bags of ice, usually the freezer is located after the checkout stations towards the exit. Since I did not see one I asked to be certain and was told 'no', so that was one mission canceled. Still, I wanted to look around and see if this location had any unique features, none except a smaller wine selection as far as I could see. It's definitely a smaller size than comparable locations in Eastvale or Alhambra. Nothing essential left one thing to do, get hotdogs! Order at the little kiosks and wait until your number is called, I suppose that's a familiar process by now. They're faster than before too, so no complaints. However, however.... we paid the ultimate price for that $1.50 deal when I discovered, first, that neither of the two soda dispensers had ice, nor was any being created when the lever was pushed. Then, after asking and being told the ice shortage would resolve itself, I knew then they didn't care or bother to follow up on customer complaints. I wasn't the only one who said anything. Finally, insult to injury, being forced to drink something I discovered that carbonation was out or so low that every single nozzle dispensed flat, slightly cool, but not enough, soda. While that's not the only deal breaker it certainly does stand out after 20-years' experience shopping at Costco. read more
