Workers didnt know where any of their items were. Completely useless since i had to ask multiple times and got the same useless answer.

Costco has great prices and sales policy; the Union store always has a long wait at customer service; only complaint but still worth going.

Went to Costco Optical at this location and received incredibly rude, unpleasant treatment from the second I began my interaction with the two employees. They had a problem with my prescription so I called my eye doctor (who is very sweet) to sort it out and they were rude to her as well then proceeded to bash her in front of me after they hung up with her. When a second prescription was finally faxed over, they coldly completed my order in a surly demeanor. I don't expect every employee to be upbeat all the time, but I do expect some politeness and friendliness and I did not receive that here. read more

This is my local costco and I must say it is a good place to stock up. There is a variety of foods and other items one can find enjoyable. The only con I would say is the parking. I find it best to park far in order to avoid the hassle of people. read more

I used Costco's Photo Center to have posters made for an exhibit. I purchased 16"x 20" poster boards and they were ready in one hour. As always they were easy to upload and the outcome was exactly what I expected. I love the customer service! My only gripe is that they no longer allow you to upload via their website. Will definitely use them again for their photo services. read more

While it is convenient. It is more geared toward restaurant business rather than do summers when it come to food. They haven't really changed assortments in at least ten years same old corn tomatoes and string beans. Be careful with meat and chicken prices. Others marts like shop rite often are less expensive as fir seafood no wY. Way overpriced. Glad they finally sell gasoline though. Very overcrowded. And they close registers at the worst times. Love costco but made the mistake of buying tires here. Thought wait time was way too long for 3 customers (2.5 hours) but left happy with purchase. Took out on highway and car shook badly(balance). Took back after another 2 hours rebalanced front tires explaining their machine had been out of balance. When I asked them about the back as I had purchased 4 tires, the technician explained I only mentioned vibration in front! . . .??? Ok I left as it was late. Front was better but guess what, continued shake at 60mph. Brought it back, not bad wait about 1 hour the tech rebalanced all four and checked air pressure. Guess what, car shook again! Brought the car to my regular tire place. Cost me $86.00 dollars to rebalance. He said he had 5 costco customers in with same problem. He showed me multiple weights on wheels and tire pressure ranged from 42 to 25. Dangerous. I saved 70 bucks at Costco on the original purchase and it cost me 86 bucks and 7 hours to get problem resolved. Net 16 more dollars more plus allot of time on the costco hard bench. Bye bye costco. Just had the worst shopping experience at this Costco (1055 Hudson St/Rt 22, Union, NJ.) I have been a member of Costco for years and my family spent a lot there. Today, when I was checking out ($71.69 in total), I ran into a problem with my Amex Costco card, and the cashier couldn't process it. So I drove back home and picked up a joint card and went back to Costco. But the cashier said she couldn't do that, and a supervisor even told me something like "we have to follow the law!" I was really pissed off at that point and felt insulted. I took extra time driving back and forth, trying to solve the problem in good faith, and it is reasonable to expect Costco to take another step so we meet in the middle. But they just treated me as if I was trying to scam them out of $71.69. Of course there are rules, but there are also exceptions. And there is something called common sense. you don't win customers by throwing rule books at them. You win them by using your common sense and making customer-friendly exceptions. Look, Costco, you have membership information on file, you have access to a lot of purchase history data, you can ask for driver's license for verification, and you have a lot of ways to cross-check and make a small bet on this $71.69 charge to please a loyal customer who already spent many times more at your store. Once in a while, a customer will run into payment processing problems for whatever reason. Use your common sense to see if people are trying to defraud you, or they just have an inconvenience that you can easily accommodate, rather than making them jump through the hoops to complete a purchase. They will appreciate your flexibility. What you choose to do at those rare moments will leave a lasting impression on people. Some businesses handle things differently. I also shop at a local grocery store. One day I left a case of bottled water I already paid for in their parking lot, and I only realized that when I got home. So I drove back to the grocery store and told the store supervisor. He just gave me another case for free. He could have told me "well, we are not responsible for what you lost in the parking lot", but he chose to use his common sense, and wins a loyal customer. This is the worst shopping experience I have ever had. In the last 10 years, no other stores treated me like this. This is my tipping point. Costco is no longer on my preferred store list. read more

People here are weird. I just grabbed a box of waffles at this Costco, and it was only after I opened it at home that I noticed that the top wasn't supposed to be taped up like that. Sure enough, one of the bags (out of 6) were torn open, and one was missing. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would go out of their way to steal a single bag of friggin waffles, and how this Costco could have "missed" it and resold it to a customer. It's kind of gross. Imagine someone buying a box of drinking water, taking a swig from each one, and just returning it to be sold to some other poor soul. read more

The optical department is inefficient. Expect to wait a long time to be helped (without so much as an acknowledgement), even if all you have to do is pick up contact lenses you already paid for. read more

If zero stars rating was available would rate Costco Union no stars. Four registers were closed, lines were literally halfway down the store aisles, people were leaving their carts and walking out. Twice I tried to order TWO new Smart Samsung TVs from Costco.com and after accepting the orders, they e-mailed me to cancel them claiming that my delivery address did not match my credit card number. This was absurd. I am not new to online purchasing but I called my credit card company anyway and they said there wasn't a problem with my address. To my amazement Costco (after 3 calls) could not remedy this glitch!! I finally gave up and ordered from Best Buy online within seconds. Sorry Costco you lost both a sizable order and a new member. 11/11/2010 In the afternoon I went to Costco to purchase four tires and once i got there i was told by the technician to go to the front of the store to place my order, upon my arrival there the person that was working there did not acknowledge my presence for over 30 minutes, i went inside and they call someone in management and after 15 minutes the guy came and went to the tire dept and to my surprise he disappeared once he got in there and never came back. 3 people were there and told us that they have been there for pratically over 6 hrs, dropped their cars and upon their arrival 6 hrs later they found out that nothing was done in their car. If you need tires, find yourself another place that is reputable, they have TERRIBLE SERVICE. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, I went to another place on Rte 22 and less than 15 minutes later my tires were getting installed. Don't waste your time to get any tires at Costco. read more
