It's a very rare occasion I find myself browing the racks at Neiman but I had a black tie event coming up so, I shopped! Besides the GORGEOUS dress I walked out with, the rest of the experience was kind of frustrating. I had to search and search and SEARCH for a fitting room, all with 3 big heavy dresses in my hands. There was no one in the department I was in, and sales associates in neighboring departments continued to point me in different directions. After a bit of a hunt, I finally found a very sweet associate who unlocked a room for me, hunted down different sizes and offered suggestions. I was so happy to have found someone kind and helpful after the whole ordeal. I did find a beautiful dress, and I do have to say I loved that the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. But Besides the one man offering some help, I was a bit peeved. All and all, yesss I will be back because I am a sucker for a nice dress. read more

DON'T BUY SUNGLASSES FROM NM! They sold me a defective pair of Dior glasses ($600!!) that not a single optician / eyewear boutique was able to fix because of a deformity with the glasses. They refused to honor an exchange or even store credit because it was outside the 30 day window. This chain has gone so downhill with quality checks that they'll carry defective stock. The were received by NM on 7/18. I am still awaiting a refund. I was told by a Custy rep that they were reaching out to the vendor inquiring concerning a defect. I wore these shoes once and I paid Neuman Marcus, I didn't pay the vendor. I want my refund asap! I'm willing to give a bad review of how NM does business on every Social media platform. I wanted to purchase the Chanel J12 and was helped by a very helpful SA in the fine jewelry department at this Neiman location. I had trouble knowing which size I wanted (33 mm or 38 mm) and although they only had one of the white ceramic diamond 38 mm in stock, she helped me get a better idea of sizing using a Chopard piece. I ended up getting the 38 mm, and her help made for a very quick and effective trip, which I always appreciate. I will return to her for my fine jewelry again. read more

Last time, I've been to the Neiman Marcus café was in my pre-yelp days. Totally enjoyed my lunch today. I dined alone and was never ignored. I was escorted to my table. The server Juan pulled out my chair. Juan provided excellent service throughout the meal. For starters, the complementary fresh monkey bread with luscious strawberry butter and consommé was served. Next, I had a delicious peach lemonade ($5.00) which was super refreshing on today's warm day. Ordered the Neiman Marcus Special Chicken bistro sandwich ($17.00). The delicious sandwich consisted of grilled chicken, garlic alioli, yellow peppers and greens on super fresh focaccia bread. All the flavors complemented each other beautifully. Definitely recommend the sandwich. The café has other entrées consisting of meat and seafood. Other items include wine, cappuccino and desserts. The food and service was wonderful in my pre-yelp days and continues to be excellent. read more

I've been interested in a pair sneakers which finally came on sale at Nieman Marcus with 40 % discount. Went online and placed it in my shopping bag because I had to go to Nordstrom for another pair of shoes and didn't want to forget to buy them while I was in Nordstrom I saw the same sneakers and they were willing to honor the price but would have to order them so decided to go next door to NM. When I went to NM and spoke with the saleswomen I showed her the sale items and she said it wasn't on sale I said that's impossible here it is in my shopping bag I even refreshes and repurchased it. She said she would inquire with the manager (Hany Daniel). After about 10 min she came out and said that it wasn't on sale and would not be able to give me the sale price at which time I proceed to buy the sneakers online with the 40% discounted price. After my transaction I asked to speak with the manager and asked he if he would honor the price and he said I could not. Hany Daniel I found had no interest in honoring the price after I showed him that a placed the order and was confirmed for delivery. My question now is why he didn't honor it? or is it that NM does not In power their managers/employees to do what is right for the customer service experience and be done honor pricing I'm quite disappointed for a store such as Neiman Marcus would have a manager that would not honor pricing wether online or in store. I approached an associate asked her a specific question, if they price matched . first the female associate told me NO then said Im not sure, I asked to speak to a manager. the manager was very rude and said it depends. i asked to speak to the GM when he came out he looked at me as if i wanted to steal the coat, I'm an African american man and i felt very uncomfortable. Not bad I had Giovanni in shoes talk me into a pair of $2499.00 pair of Louboutin shoes. I originally went in for a new pair of beige pumps. Got great service from him. My husband insisted i wait until Valentines Day To make sure i loved these particular crystal pumps. We got his info. I will have to wait, but I'm thinking they are a little busy and i won't wear them as much as my $695 beige. Numerous occasions where I haven't been able to find a sales associate on the floor to assist me ... and there have even been times when I have visibly noticed associates get upset because I decided not to make a purchase (shoe department!) I've been a long time customer of Neiman Marcus in various locations but rate the Short Hills location at the bottom. This is due to their extremely poor customer service in the beauty and women's fine apparel departments. I was ready to buy multiple items but left the store empty handed. A beauty specialist / sales person was MIA, despite multiple attempts to swing by the counter within two hours. A colleague had to text the salesperson to confirm her whereabouts, and then asked me to wait 20 minutes until she returned. Are you serious?! No!! I'll go to any other retailer to buy the same product but actually wanted to ask a NM salesperson for their experience/feedback on it. What a disappointment. In the fine apparel department, a designer dress I wanted to purchase didn't have a tag. They had no idea how to ring it up (they had no record of it) but promised to call me back the next day to confirm the price. 5 business days later, and I have yet to receive a response. I called multiple times to leave a message but still nothing. I emailed the sales person but also got no response. This is the worst experience ever. NEVER am I returning to this location again. It's such a shame as it really drags down the Neiman Marcus brand reputation. read more

The setting lacks charm but that perhaps is to be expected in an in- store lunch venue. Menu is quire limited. Servers are unsophisticated but very pleasant. A burger ordered rare is well done. There are two desserts on offer...a chocolate chip cookies which is cookie dough taste and a dense carrot cake. This is a menu in need of an over haul. I never felt so unwanted in a store anything I asked for she would respond "nope, out of it" At first I was very embarrassed when I realized I was interrupting her conversation with another employee- She was very dismissive and very rude to me When I realized I could not get her to check and see if she had any other Products I needed to refill from my mother- I ended up going over to the Armani counter-there was a nice brunette lady who I told her what it just happened to me at the Chanel counter. She said that that was unacceptable and that if the manager was there that day she would've called them to deal with it and I told her no it was fine. I found a counter and was waiting for a few minutes for the sales associate for help but she completely ignored my presence. I then decided to walk around to a different counter since this sales associate completely ignored me. Every other counter was empty, so I went back to the same counter I initially waited at. She finally looks up and me and I politely asked if this is where I can make a return and she snapped at me saying, "I'm working on someone else's right now". Very cold, no greeting, no smile, nothing. Awful customer service skills. Honestly you could've just said "I'll be with you shortly" or whatever. I wasn't in a rush. There was only one person at the counter and I was waiting behind that person. On the other hand though, I like the brands they carry at Neiman Marcus, would definitely do online shopping than in stores. They need a feedback service for their sales associates. As we all know, this is an expansive department store. But I didn't think that It'd be that nice, walking through here. I'm used to shopping at a Rockaway Townsquare, so this was different than shopping at JCPenney or Sears. The exterior was beautiful, with nice glass doors and some trees covering the walls here and there. When you walk in, all you see is luxury. Everybody is dressed nice in there, and you see all those sets of escalators. The department store has 3 floors, and is located right next to Crate & a Barrel inside the mall. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't sell clothing my size. The kids sizes only go up to a 6. But the lady was really nice, and was understanding. Lots of parking garage and parking lot access around all the floors. The Neiman Marcus also includes an NMCafe. I really love this store, and when I get older I would certainly shop here! read more

There were many sales reps but the only rep (young African American guy from NY) that asked if he could help was the only rep who was already helping a different customer. Meanwhile, all the other sales attendants just stood around. He asked a young lady to assist me. We walked to the register, she placed an order for delivery for my shoe since they didn't have my size in stock, gave me my receipt and I left. I went early in the day. So it wasn't crowded. The shoe department is staffed with very helpful and friendly salespeople. They always offer to find shoes that are not in stock. However, the cosmetics department salespeople at Chanel cosmetics and Estée Lauder are not as helpful, at least in my experience. The restaurant in Neiman Marcus is wonderful. Love the popovers and strawberry cream cheese spread. I love Neimanmarcus.com. They frequently run promotions such as gift cards and extra percentage off sale items. Our family and friends have been regular shoppers here most of our lives and never have we been so mistreated and disrespected as we were today. We purchased a shawl for 1,000 and it was really cheap quality and fell apart quickly. When we came in to exchange it for something else or store credit we had to speak to the manager and she couldn't help us. When the next person above helped us she was rude, disrespectful, and she damaged the scarf even more when her bracelet got caught and snagged a new hole. After ruining the product even more, she tossed it back on the table in front of us, literally stopped speaking and walked away, like who does that? And at CHANEL non the less. The sales associate Michael was more helpful and dignant than the awful and arrogant hr manager. I've been shopping at this location for years. They have a beautiful selection of merchandise especially shoes. But this past weekend the customer service was absolutely atrocious. The associate that help me with Lucas, he was very unapproachable and seemed very bothered that I asked for his help. My mother and I asked him to get us a couple of different boots in our respective sizes. He did unwillingly and with a very snotty attitude. The pair of shoes that I like they didn't have my size I asked him to look up if he could order them for me. After about 15 minutes of past I asked him if they were available to order he said oh you were serious you wanted me to look that up. Why should I shop in person if the sales associates are going to be so rude. We ended up buying three pairs of shoes because we generally just love to the merchandise. As a long time customer of Shorthills Mall Neiman Marcus I will no longer buy anything in this store because of poor quality staff training. While trying to make a return of the shirt that I purchased in this location, the manager in the ALC clothes department was called. They needed to look me up using my phone number and then discuss with me my online purchases . This manager then criticized my bikini purchases I made over the summer and said to me it was returned 3 days late. Therefore he cannot accommodate my return that I purchased in this store for being a couple days late. The 30 day returns policy was strongly enforced and because I am now 10 days past on my return the manager will not return or even exchange the shirt. He said to me that I am now stuck with that shirt. This is how Neiman Marcus Shorthills Mall Clothes department handles me on October 4. Beware shoppers!!! read more
