They charged me for "soak off and removal" after I sat with my hands in acetone for 15 minutes while they finished another customer. The woman who did my nails then handed me a nail file to remove the remaining dip MYSELF. I'm in the service industry, and I always give people the benefit of the doubt but I made a yelp account just to leave this review. This wasn't my first time, I go out of pure convenience here and there. I usually do dip in another salon on Queens Blvd which is great but I was in a rush. I just wanted gel which is usually quick and easy. They asked what was on my nails I said dip, asked soak or foil and I said soak is fine. I sat for at least 15 minutes and then took my hands out when the dip was mostly dissolved and my fingers started to get irritated. She kept telling me to put them back in and I said no it's good. She then handed me a nail file which I honestly was fine with, even though I've literally never had that done before. When I went to pay, she charged me an extra $2 for soak off. It's $2, I know places charge for that now and normally I wouldn't care. It's time consuming and they have to use an electric file half the time. It was the fact she did such a half assed job on my nails and literally I took off my own dip. The tech got annoyed when I said "wait really? I did it myself." Got loud, and then took off .50 cents and then said "taxes". It was $30, and I being in the service industry I always tip. I had a $10 bill in my hand and her attitude completely changed when I still gave it to her as a tip. This is probably the 4th time I've been there and the owner was more concerned with looking over at the other employee while doing my nails. Not just a glance but on every nail she would look up over and away. My nails came out terrible, and I will never be back. read more

I've come here numerous times. I must say this is one of my favorite places to get a mani and pedi. I brought my 8 y/o daughter with me to get a mani and pedi as well. They always do a good job, never any complaints. Also not to long of a wait , I waited about 10-15 minutes. It's a very nice and clean place and also the staff is very sweet. I ended up getting coffin shaped acrylics with gel and stones on 2 nails for just $60. they were really nice and did a great job. the place is clean, cute and comfortable. my only complaint is that when i got home i had to file a few nails to perfect them but they came out nice regardless. i would recommend this nail salon to a friend and i would return as well. read more

Diva had been going down hill for the past few years in my opinion, and when I saw Cosy take over, I'll admit, just on visuals alone, I thought it was continuing to get even crappier. They took down a bunch of the nicer decor, the space over all just looks way...dumpier? I even remember seeing giant letter cutouts up on the window for weeks that said "Day Sap" - which they later fixed to "Day Spa". I'm assuming Tina, who opened up the Dolls Lounge on Austin helped with Diva's more classier look. This is sadly mostly gone now. I already walked in with low expectations...but surprisingly, the service they offer is good, better than Diva good! One of the things that pissed me off about Divalicious, is that they started getting lazy with gel nails. They would paint all the nails at once, and stack one hand over the other in the UV light box to save time. I understand that time is money, but I don't want to spend my own hard earned cash on a manicure that starts chipping after a few days. That's not why I pay the extra for gel. I'm SO happy that Cosy does gel nails properly, one finger at a time. My gels have been lasting well over 2 weeks. I hope you guys get nicer decorations, and please take better care of your fish! I came to Cosy Nails and Spa by accident while wandering around Forest Hills and looking for an affordable but good mani-pedi services which seem so hard to find nowadays. Initially, I was a little put off by its underwhelming exterior and started to feel reluctant but couldn't resist the good deals so I decided to give it a try... As soon as I stepped inside, my first impression of the place was immediately changed as I was impressed by how spacious, clean and organized (very important for Covid social distancing protocol) the salon was. All the self-massaging chairs were placed distantly (not elbow to elbow) from each other and divided by a ceiling to floor clear curtain. The same went for manicure tables. Lucy was my manicurist, who was extremely careful, skilled and communicative with kind manners (I spoke a little Mandarin but Lucy could speak English too) She took time to cut and trim my cuticles, gently cared for my beaten up feet and even wrapped the heels in paraffin (part of the regular mani-pedi set $26) while polishing each and every toe nail with consistent pressure and precision and speed. Same went for my finger nails. I love their heat driers which made drying exercise a breeze, fast and solid dried nails in less than 10 minutes. When I was about to leave, Lucy came over to help put on oil and wrap my feet in plastic bags and even put shoes on for me to make sure my hands were completely free and newly done nails remained perfect! I can't say enough how pleased I am for having found this salon, a little gem on Yellowstone blvd! I had been to every single salon on Austin street and always paid too much for too little service! I believe the ladies working at Cosy Nails salon must love what they do based on the way they genuinely care for their customers. Highly recommend the salon and Lucy. read more

New to the neighborhood so I thought I'd try this place out since it was on my way home... never again. Went inside - there was 1 person working and 1 woman waiting. No one said a word to me after I'd walked in so I went ahead and picked my color. The women working finally acknowledged me. I asked how long (I only needed a mani). She said 10 min so I sat and waited. Another woman walked out from the back and started work on the other woman. I've now waited for 15 min then the 1st woman comes and tells me it'll be another 30 min. I said no I don't have the time and asked to have a cotton ball to remove the color I've tested on my nail... the woman looked like confused... So I asked again and pointed to my nail. This place was horrible. I went for color gel and the guy didn't know what he was doing. The nasty lady in the first chair was yelling at him in Korean because she noticed he was making mistakes. When she got up to help him he motioned to her to go away, Then they began are arguing again. I asked what's going on and they ignored me. It took him 2.5 hours to do my nails and they are dull and bumpy. My nail beds are sticking to the sides of my nails too. I finally spoke up and asked them what they intended on charging me for this horrific manicure and the nasty woman said $35. I told her I am not paying full price for this mess. The guy came out and said "pay whatever you want" so I slammed $20 on the counter and walked out. He's lucky he got that. Disgusting place, disgusting people. ZERO STARS read more

I used to attend Bess Nails which is on the other side of the boulevard but I began frequenting here since it is much closer to where I live. They are all kind and very sweet people. Quick, efficient, and they do a great job. Not to mention they are nice and quiet, with either calming music or a movie playing on the TV to relax you. I really enjoy the quiet ambience because many nail salons often have tons of people yelling at each other with loud chatter. Will be back! Thanks Cosy! :) read more

Today I went in today for a fill in and a gell Mani ..there is the first lady when you come In that does fill ins and tips .. as soon as I came in she asks what I need I tell her ,she looks at my hand and rolls her eyes .. calls someone from the back , I sit at her table , tell her what I need ,they say something to eachother ... Lady from the first desk leaves her customer sitting there ,she again comes over to me looks at my hand under my nails rolled her eyes again with the nasty looks I MEAN NASTY .!!!! I want to give this place a real 4 stars due to the friendly service and time spent on me (nice 2 minutes or so foot massage and hand massage) but the manicure only lasted 2 days. I think maybe this has to do with the top coat brand. Not sure. My toes lasted 2 weeks so that is fine. Also noticed some of the nail polish is separating in the bottle. Maybe they don't change them enough. Overall this is my local place so I am happy to come in but if I need my manicure to last 3-4 days I have to go elsewhere. read more

The owner is unfailingly pleasant, as are the staff. I have never had a bad manicure here and am really surprised by by the bad reviews. I've had regular manicures and pedicures and gel manis - never a problem. The nail polish is always fresh (stopped using F&T because their polish is always old and they have fewer and fewer color options). I have to say, the last time I was in, they added a wax pedi treatment without charge because it had been quite a while since I'd had a pedi - I guess I really needed it, LOL! read more

Called on Tuesday to make an appointment with her again for a manicure/pedicure at 6:45 today. Just went in for my appointment at 6:40 and the idiot who barely speaks a word of English says to me tomorrow. I said no not tomorrow I made it for today. 3 acrylics came off less than a week later. The first nail I asked if they could glue it back on, the owner had me wait 30 minutes for one freaking nail that would've taken 2 minutes. The same day the second nail popped off and then the third. She's careless with her work and barely puts enough glue. The nails also didn't come out how I had asked her to do them. Horrible experience!!!!!!! The nail tech did a horrible job at painting my nails. The polish was not distributed evenly; there were blobs of paint in some places and in others there were missed spots. Nail painting is an art, this nail tech is completely inexperienced.
