Carne Asada Fries, Pollo Asado Taco, side of carrots, 6 red sauce
    Cindy I.

I ordered through grub hub and typed a note throughout asking for 2 of each sauce. Immediately after putting the order through, I called the restaurant to also verbally make the request. I did this because past experiences at other locations, I tend to not get any or the type I want if I don't type and call follow up to ask again. When I received my order, I had 6 sauces. Of ONLY red. That was extremely disappointing and changes the food. Everyone knows the sauces make the food better. I will say that the carne and pollo were delicious and the flour tortillas tasted fresh. I would still go back, I'm just dissatisfied with the lack of sauce when I was sure I covered my bases.

Love the generous portions. My kids love coming here for a quick after school meal. Staff is super friendly. And the inside dining is always clean and tidy.

    Bean and cheese, all tortilla

Lately this place has been disappointing. It used to be great but the burritos are getting smaller and smaller. I ordered a California burrito and bean and cheese burrito. My toddler could have finished a whole burrito they were that small. Picture is of the bean and cheese. All tortilla.

What a shot carne burrito. Asked for rice and guacamole. It's like they put a spec of guacamole. This is bullshit.

This is a fingernail that was inside my Carne Asada Fries

Extremely overpriced for what it is. Go half a block and find yourself a better spot. Servers aren't the nicest.

Food is just okay. Very pricey. This is the first time I have gone there in years hoping for good shrimp tacos. Sadly disappointed.

This place has the most delicious Mexican food I've ever tasted in San Diego County. I highly recommend it. I'm Mexican; I should know.

They have a menu on yelp that isn't even close to accurate. Prices are twice what the yelp menu says.

Ask the Community - Cotijas Taco Shop

Do they still offer rolled tacos? We called them taquitos back then, but they had me driving from Riverside to get 6 for $1.99.

    Are the beans vegan?

The majority of beans you find at taco shops in San Diego will either contain lard or bacon grease, to enhance flavor. Best bet is, if the menu doesn't metion that they are lardfree, they most likely are not vegan.

We are bar sitters and found the "hook" open, so we took our seats. Luke was our bartender/server for the day. Luke provided excellent service. Super friendly dude. We hope that your knee is fixed Luke! A mimosa for Becky and a Modelo "NFL" for me to start. Bex ordered the Meat Lover's Skillet. Diced ham, bacon and sausage sauteed with bell peppers, onions, and home fries. Topped with scrambled eggs, Jack cheese and green onion. I chose a side of Biscuits and Gravy as I knew I would be sharing in the skillet. After about a 10-minute wait, our food was delivered. It was piping hot fresh out of the kitchen. Bex decided that she wanted a side of sourdough toast, Luke had it to us in less than two minutes, despite his bum knee. The skillet was a very large portion and easily fed us both with plenty to take home. Every component of the skilled was excellent. From the breakfast potatoes on the bottom to the gooey Jack cheese on top. The eggs were scrambled and seasoned well. The biscuits were super dense and really tasty. The gravy was thick and peppery. I did not need two biscuits. I only finished one. Only One biscuit with an additional ladle of gravy would have been perfect. It had been a while since our last visit to Broken Yolk. We were very impressed with the food and the service.

Inside the shop they allowed people to bring their own trading card collection to trade with each other. They had specialty drinks made specifically for the show, Pokemon themed. There's a good amount of seating inside and seems like a good place to hang out or study. They have different books and board games around the shop too. I tried two drinks when I came. I got the coconut matcha because it was one of the themed drinks but wasn't impressed with it. I probably should've known better than to order matcha at a coffee shop but I'm a sucker for coconut. For my second (redemption) drink I got the Samoa which was a mocha, coconut, and caramel latte. This one was delicious. It had a great coffee flavor with a nice smooth caramel companion. It wasn't overly sweet and not bitter at all. The baristas were all great too. My drinks came out quickly despite it being busy with the show. Definitely a great coffee shop to check out!

Becky and I are not well versed in the world of fancy coffee, so we typically rely on those we are with to provide recommendations. Saturday we were on our own. We wanted a late afternoon pick-me-up and Kaffee Meister is a very short distance from our house. I walked in and was warmly greeted by the pleasant young woman behind the counter (I did not catch her name). I asked for two caramel iced coffees. She very nicely and patiently explained to me the different options of my generic "iced coffees" term. Lattes, cold brews, espressos, etc. Her recommendation was Caramel Frappes, so that is what I ordered. One with whipped cream (for Becky) and mine without. As I waited, I looked around the room. It was really cool. Very homey, neighborhood cafe vibe. A few tables and a couch and comfy chairs along with some tables and chairs dotted the room. The room was really nicely decorated. I liked the spiral staircase shelving. They have some outdoor seating as well. In addition to coffees, they offer a food menu. Pastries, bagels, açaí bowls, sandwiches and the like. I drive by Kaffee Meister almost daily and often I will see that they have live music which is cool. I waited maybe three or four minutes for my name to be called, and I was handed my two frappes. I like a simple cup o' Joe. Black, no sugar, no sweeteners. At home I drink Kirkland brand ground coffee from a drip coffee maker. That said, I really enjoyed the Caramel Frappe. It was not too sweet and retained subtle coffee flavor. Becky very much enjoyed hers too. Neither of us had ever had a frappe before. We were surprised by the milkshake-like creamy texture. They provided the perfect pick-me up we were looking for. About 17 bucks after tip. We'd return for sure.
