The sausage patty was large had a nice flavor. Two eggs were a little too runny. Pancakes were good; fuffy, sweet, and nice size. 2) Bacon cheeseburger: very tasty juicy burger that came with all the appropriate fixins. the entire burger was covered with crispy bacon. it also arrived with a ton of hot fries. 3) Monday special: Homemade chicken enchiladas. this entree comes with two shredded chicken enchiladas covered in a mild sauce, basic refried beans, and seasoned spanish rice. Not the best but decent. 4) spinach salad: this entree looked fresh and inviting. fresh spinach leaves, covered with fresh strawberries, pieces of cold chicken, avocados slices, and real crispy bacon bits. dressing arrived on the side. very nice salad even with the cold chicken. 5) garden omelette: filled with veggies(spinach, bell peppers, onions, zucchini). my only complaint: slightly overcooked which makes a fuffy omelette into a somewhat tough scrambled egg omelette. This dish also comes with 2 large pancakes. there were a few little mishaps. it took some time before our wait staff took our order and even longer before our food arrived. I was blown away and sooo full, after savoring every bit, that I needed to save some for another day. The duck spring rolls and ginger cranberry chutney were so delicious that I wished I could have more! The Thai grilled chicken was juicy and PACKED with mouth watering curry spices and flavors, while being perfectly paired with the ginger noodles. The ginger noodles had a kick, and I am a weakling when it comes to even mild spice, so I was relieved by the rolls that balanced out the noodles and chicken. I have enjoyed many scrumptious baked goods, including my fav breakfast biscuit sandwich with eggs and lemon squares, made by the students and sold in the Oak Café, so it was such a treat today to finally be able to enjoy their cooking talents for my lunch also. My favorite has to be the mushroom chicken because it has that characteristic smokey Chinese flavor. For the less adventurous people, their Nourish Salad and Homestyle Chicken with quinoa and green beans also make decent choices. Combo meals cost a very acceptable $8-10. Admittedly, the cafe sometimes gets carried away with their ambitions. I chuckle a bit seeing Mapo Tofu and Chicken Bulgogi on the menu. They're nothing like their authentic counterparts but still taste miles better than typical hospital food. That's what ultimately gives the cafe its 5th star; one for creativity, four for healthiness, affordability, and taste. I took one bite and went to the caterer immediately to tell him how amazing the sandwich was. The meat was tender and well seasoned and the bread was not only the perfect texture but it had a flavored butter that was memorable. I have since gone to try their tri tip at their dealership location. That was also amazing. If you have trouble finding them, the GPS for some reason leads you to a thrift store. They are in the dealership next door.
