The Mill is a beautiful little cafe located in midtown. It is sparsely decorated, but what it does present is very charming and minimalist. There is seating inside as well as some tables and chairs outside as well. I found the coffee and food at The Mill to be excellent. There are many coffee and tea selections as well as some pastries in the front section and waffles. The waffles seem to be the only hot food item there, but it is very popular and is an item totally worth getting. The waffles is an excellent size and has a crispy outside and chewing interior. It comes with powdered sugar all over the top and your choice of jam or maple syrup. I went with the jam and I really enjoyed the waffle with it. The coffee was of very high quality. I had the cold brew with their sweet cream on the top. The cold brew was strong and the cream had a premium stiffness to it that standard coffee places don't do. It was not very sweet and for those who enjoy their coffee with less sugar, this is great. I found the coffee enjoyable throughout my time with it as I sat in the cafe hanging out with my friend. I've passed by this coffee shop so many times, and we finally stopped in on a Sunday morning. When we stopped there was a run club out in their driveway area (they were blocking the way onto their parking lot) and we ended up getting a parking spot on the street. It's good to know that they do have a small parking lot though. It's a small cafe with a few bar seats along the window as well as a cute little outdoor patio in the back. The team members were very nice and I made small talk with the person taking my order, and ended up ordering their favorite- an iced honey latte. I've been coming to The Mill for years and their quality has always been consistent. They're known for their coffee and waffle in hand. On Sunday, I arrived at 7:30 and there was a couple of people enjoying their coffee. I was greeted by a kind barista and I decided to order the cappuccino and a croissant. My croissant was handed to me on plate and my drink took about 5 minutes. That first sip feeling was amazing. I'm still dreaming of the cappuccino that I had. The croissant was good. This is a cute and small coffee shop right outside of CSUS. The coffee shop has good AC so it's toasty when it's cold outside. They have good indoor and outdoor seating. Came with my best friend for a coffee date for her bday. Super cute inside and the outside area is nice and covered. Parking is a bit difficult as there aren't a ton of spaces and backing out can be difficult, but there is also some street parking. We had the iced chai and iced matcha. Both delicious, would recommend the wildflower syrup added to the matcha as it is unsweetened. The chai was spicy too. We also had the chocolate chip mochi waffle which was delicious! For me, the cookie was just ok. It is nice and thick but the flavor just isn't there for me and the texture is interesting. Will def be back to try more things! read more

Love the coffee here. For around $6 I get a high quality cappucino. Coffee taste fresh, they use organic milk. You get small and quality here which is what a coffee should be. At Starbucks and the chain coffee, you can get a large or XL coffee but it is mainly just burnt coffee beans and milk fluff or nowadays they make coffee with tons of sugar which is why Americans are fat and have lots of diabetes. Just a heads up for those coming to study, there isn't much space to sprawl out, so it's great if you're only using a laptop, but not as much if you need to write in a notebook. The shop was filled with the sweet aroma of their fresh waffles. We got a Wildwood Flower Latte and a Matcha Latte! Both were mediocre, nothing special. The WFL had floral notes, but overall bland and tastes mostly like milk. However, it is a great spot to study and chat! Tight knit corners inside, but plenty outside seating! I visited the coffee shop to purchase a drink before attending a workout class at Sacramento State. When I returned from my class, the gate to the property had been closed, leaving me unable to access my vehicle. There were no visible signs on the property indicating that the gate would be closed, and the employee working at the time did not inform me of this policy.
