Finally sent my wife to pick the pizza up after calling for the second time at 4:53pm to see if the one driver had returned to deliver our order and was told no. Also told our order was not made yet and would be made fresh when it's actually delivered. Wife got a refund on the delivery fee but still left the 25% tip ($6.67). When she got to the site there were two girl employees sitting down eating, one working his tail off on making pizzas and one sitting at the front register "servicing" her. Normally I enjoy Cottage Inn but tonight they delivered me a half eaten container garlic sauce with my lasagna meal. You can even see the leftovers from the previous owner, some kind of boneless wing, if I had to guess. Of all the times I've been to this location, I have noticed they don't have a consistent pattern for the toppings and how they are placed. Some days my toppings are on top of the cheese cooked perfectly to the crisp but melting in the cheese. Other times they put all my topping under the cheese which leaves me with a soggy pizza with soggy toppings covered in sauce. Today was one of those days. Okay 2 Star is a rough rating, hear me out. I ordered at 11:11pm and received my freezing cold incorrect order at 2:45am. I called probably 5 times and each time was told my pizza was up next and would leave any moment. When i finally got word it had left took 45 mins to get to me. This would explain why it was freezing cold. I usually give places the Benefit of the doubt especially in the current environment but this was ridiculous. I'm not sure what all the hate is for cottage inn but it's by far one of the best pizzas in town. And that's coming from a 270 pound man who has eaten at literally every single pizza place in MP. Their gourmet pizzas are great and inventive, I personally love the bbq chicken pizza. Their crust is great and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch. The sauce is perfect too. And yeah the topping pattern and layout can be wonky but that's mostly from delivery. Not sure what you exspected it to look like after riding in a box for 20 mins after. It's pizza, it's not a gourmet meal. All pizza is gonna be greasy, that said the grease factor here is pretty much zero. Their side options are good too if pizza isn't your thing. College Inn has five dollar pizzas after midnight which is a great deal. However, do order in advance. They claim that it takes 45 mins to deliver and they mean it. It usually takes closer to an hour. Now for the actual pizza. I have ordered two types of pizzas here. The thin crust and the regular hand tossed round. Neither is very good. I ordered the thin crust with pep and it was very dry and very greasy. I even asked for extra sauce on the pizza hoping it would help, which it didn't. The crust on the regular round pizza was very hard, it was crusty to say the least. There wasn't much flavor to the pizza. I haven't yet to be satisfied with my orders at Cottage Inn. read more

I love ordering from this Cottage Inn location. I like to think I'm a super relaxed guy, so when my order arrived 30 minutes after the estimated arrival time I was like, cool, that gave me some extra time to chill. Speaking of chill, I didn't even have to worry about burning my mouth on my food because it was already cold. Normally I have to leave the box on the counter for an hour, but not with Cottage Inn, it was nice and room temperature on arrival. IMO this is the best pizza in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Quick delivery, reasonable prices, lots of coupons available, great crust and tons of toppings. Delivery price is very reasonable as well.
