I had a group of 80 people camping at Fall Creek Falls for a 4th of July Family Reunion. My sister,…read moremyself and my Sister In Law ran to this Walmart to purchase a birthday cake and other items and while we were there we decided to get some beer and Lemonade drinks with alchohol in them. We approached cash register 4 where an elderly cashier proceeded to check us out. I had the beer at the end of the belt with a seperator stick so I could pay for it separately. About halfway through ringing up the food order, the cashier asks for ID for the beer. I give her mine and she says, I need ALL of your ID's. I said, what? Since when did Walmart start carding EVERYONE in the party and not just the person buying the beer? She stated that the store started that in May and it's their way of preventing sales of alcohol to underage people. ?????? The two other women handed over their ID's and at this point a young red headed lady with glasses interjected in our conversation with the cashier saying, Yeah, we have to ID everyone in the party, it's our procedure. She was snippy and abrasive. When it came time to ring up the beer, I didn't see her scan or ring in ANY of the ID's for that purchase. Being that I have lived in TN for 15 years and have shopped at many Walmarts wihin the state, this interaction was bothering me because it was off putting and so random and targeted. The attitude of both the Walmart employees was abrasive and off putting and when I vocalized my discontent, they both were flippant with their response with one saying, "There's nothing I can do about it, its store policy". I understand TN ID laws regarding alcohol and I would never complain as there are laws in place for a reason, HOWEVER, in this case, my party had 3 Hispanic women, speaking Spanish, tan skinned and we are the ages of 66, 58 and 48. As flattering as it may be to THINK we look under 40, we don't although we try our hardest. After the transaction and leaving the store, I got to the car and thought, I need to go speak to the Manager about this so I went to find him. I approached 2 men at the service counter, one young and one older and balding. I asked for the Manager and they said they are BOTH the Managers and the older man gave me the once over, up and down look and sneered and walked away. Now I know we were in casual wear but I was well put together and not looking like a vagrant so I didn't understand his reaction to me. I asked the young Manager where I could find the Walmart Policy and Procedure on their alcohol ID policy because I was on line at that moment looking for it and what the cashiers had told me (they had to ID everyone in the party), did not match the policy I was reading on the Walmart website. He goes on to tell me the policy of ID'ing everyone in the policy was implemented on July 1st of THIS year, (my visit was July 2nd).....???? So I said......you're telling me that if 1 person out of the 3 of us DID NOT have ID on them, you would have refused the sale of the alcohol? He responded.....yes! I told him we drove 45 minutes to get to that store and if this is, in fact, their policy, don't you think you should let your customers know?? Where's the signage?? I mean, to drive that far and be denied because we didn't know we would ALL get carded would be just as off putting as the treatment we recieved. He told me that I would not be able to find that particular policy on the Walmart website because it is NOT available for customers to see??????????????????????????????????????? This kid thinks I was born yesterday obviously. He apologized and I told him I would be contacting the corporate office because for the first time in my 58 years, I felt discriminated against. He told me thats fine and to have a nice day. A few days later I called the store to speak with the Manager again and this time I had the displeasure of speaking with Mark the Manager. I reminded him of who I was and asked for the cashiers names that we checked out with and he refused to give their information to me. I explained I had called the corporate complaint line and the operator told me Walmart policy is to card the person buying the alcohol, NOT the whole party so the cashier SHOULD NOT have asked for ID from all of us. Mark responded by telling me that he is not giving me the cashiers names, he stands by thier decision to card the whole party AND that I CAN CALL CORPORATE ALL I WANT TO, HE DOESN'T CARE, he said he's been doing this for 26 years and will not have this conversation with me. ? So much for customer service, I guess that explains the 1 star rating on this store. I filed a complaint with the Ethics Division of Walmart and hopefully they will retrain these employees on consistent and equal treatment of customers because we conducted an "experiment" of our own and sent in 3 different groups from our family reunion to buy beer. They only carded the purchaser of the beer. Hhmmmm. Shame on you Mark and Walmart cashiers, failed policy!

At about 8pm, on 7/31/25, my son and I attempted to check out at the Sparta, Tennessee Walmart…read more There were no registers opened; so we went to the self checkout section. We waited in line where two Walmart clerks were assisting a customer. When that customer left, both clerks walked away to a different register where another Walmart clerk was standing. As they were talking, I asked for help and explained that I've had eye surgery and needed assistance. The clerk dismissively threw her arm up to indicate all the open self-checkout registers, and muttered something. Her behavior, and the fact that 3 clerks would rather talk then help someone asking for assistance, set me off. I started out a gate and that clerk (heavy-set female) grabbed the gate to prevent me from exiting there, and said I could not exit there. As we headed for the customer exit, I said 'Have fun putting that stuff up'. She responded that she didn't care: which was very apparent. I believe there were 4 clerks in the self-checkout section: but we were unable to get help. Many years ago, we started doing most of our food shopping at Sams Club. Tonight was a perfect example of why we avoid the Sparta, Tennessee Walmart! Unprofessional and deplorable service!

Have you ever tried a sandwich from the Publix Deli? OMG. Always so good :) The meat, the veggies,…read morethe toppings are always fresh. You can truly taste the quality. You can also upgrade to Boars Head meat, but I honestly prefer the standard deli meat from Publix. My observation is that most people order regular subs, or the daily special - but an employee showed me the best deal in the house! It sounds confusing, so I'll try to explain :) Subs & Sandwiches: You can order a "whole" or a "half" ... same like Subway. HOWEVER!!! - here's the fun part - you can also order a "whole" or a "half" on regular bread. If you order a WHOLE sandwich on "regular bread" - like wheat, rye, sourdough, or my favorite WHITE MOUNTAIN - they give you TWO WHOLE SANDWICHES that are generously sized :) IN MY OPINION, that's much more fun than any sub. The sandwiches are nicely wrapped and bagged separately. So really, it's like two meals in one!! The sandwiches are always delicious. It's a great, healthy option to all other fast food. Give it a try next time you're at the Tullahoma Publix deli :) I promise, you will love it. Last time I checked I think it was $8.99 for a "whole" - which translates to $8.99 for TWO full sandwiches on regular deli bread. It's delicious and a great deal. Love!

I had been trying to find my EAS AdvantEDGE low carb/high protein drinks and the places that used to have them no longer do... so I was hoping that Publix would. When I moved from Murfreesboro to Shelbyville four years ago, I really missed having a Publix. I've eagerly awaited the opening of this one! From the time one walks in where you're greeted by smiling faces... and handed the latest sales circular... take note Kroger; you who have the worst customer service ever... it was a deluge of happy, smiling employees who were greeting me just like at ALL the Publix stores I've been in. One would ask "Is it because it's a new store?" My answer to that is a resounding "NO!" I've always had a pleasant experience at Publix. Never a grumpy employee to be found, and they will bend over backwards to assist you in whatever it is you need. Looking for my EAS product... horrors!... they didn't have it either. As I was headed to the deli to get a bit of something to eat on the way home... by the way, their subs were rated THE BEST by something or another... sorry I can't remember by whom... I was greeted by a customer service rep who asked how my shopping experience was going. I told her I was a bit perturbed that they didn't have my protein drinks. She, Carla, said we could attempt to rectify that problem if I had a minute or two. Awesomeness! Of course I do! She grabbed a form to fill out with the specifics of what I needed, and it would be turned into the manager and whoever did the ordering. I got a copy and they'd call me if they were able to get it and it arrived. SWEET!!! Again... TAKE THAT, KROGER!!! Headed to the deli area... woooooooo... so sad to be on low carb/keto for once. Must've gained weight from the smells and visuals alone! Got some unbreaded fried chicken wings that were mega delicious! Didn't mess up my meal plan at all. Prices are great. The checkout people are darlings... the baggers as well. I had to laugh. I had my purse, a tiny bag of chicken wings, and a drink... and was asked if I would like assistance to my car. Was I that exhausted looking? (Probably... LOL) It's just how they are at Publix. Smiling. Happy. Ready to assist you at all times. I'm so glad they're open!!!

You can tell it's all hometown people, with a hometown mentality, wanting you to feel at home. Everyone is more than helpful. Hello, I am writing to let you know about my experience last…read morenight at Store 4414, April 8 in Smithville, Tn. After preparing for a fishing tournament that day I returned home, about 25 minutes from this store, and realized my boats battery charger had died. I arrived at the store around 8:12 pm and went to the automotive department where the battery chargers were locked up and there wasn't an employee in sight or anywhere in between the rear and the front of the store. I went back to the front of the store and asked for someone to unlock the cabinet. This was just after 8:15 and the store is closing at 8:30. The cashier called the MOD on the radio and she said we are closing soon, sorry I'm not walking back there. I stood in total disbelief and asked if she was serious? The young man said, "yes, we are closing soon" and I replied, "but you aren't closed yet". I couldn't believe it, either they are open or they aren't and I needed a charger that was around $100 and the "manager" was too lazy to walk to the back of the store. I went elsewhere today after missing the morning start of my tournament to purchase what I needed. I passed this along to corporate in the event anyone in this company cares....
