I don't expect Cotton Patch to be gourmet, but I do expect it to be okay. We were traveling through town on Mother's Day and stopped for dinner. This could have been the problem because maybe they ran out of things. It was rather busy. Staff were very nice, but I had rotten tomatoes in my salad. I also ordered the one fork pot roast and it was mediocre meat and gravy served over french fried potato wedges. The menu mentioned vegetables like carrots and potatoes. Pot roast is not served over what looks like french fries... If they were somehow lacking the appropriate food on the menu I would have rather been steered to some other item. Hopefully it was a one time thing, but not serving quality food is how you get people to not come back. The rest of the family seemed to do a little better with their food. read more

Man o' man.....this might be my most favorite location. Definitely MUCH better than the Flower Mound Location and the Ennis location by a LONG shot!!! The food is always fresh and hot here and the service has always been great. The new building is pretty nice too! Unlike the previously mentioned locations the Corsicana CP has great food. The chicken tenders are great. The Chicken fried steak seems to be a favorite of my husband, and the broccoli rice casserole is always fantastic! Corsicana resident and I frequent Cotton Patch! My favorite "go-to" for closest thing to a "home-cooked meal. Great food, service, cleanliness. Never a long wait compared to other chain restaurants. Never been unhappy with any of my food choices. They also offer regular sized portions and half potions. "It's ggooooodddd!" Glad they added new parking. Need more dining area and eliminate noisy kitchen area in back dining area...just wishes! Oh yes, another restroom would be nice....convenient. All in all...a very nice family or date night experience. Never uncomfortable eating alone either. Friendly staff. Miss the homemade cobblers and coconut cream pie. read more

For people who eat out often and enjoy some good greasy food on a road trip, this is for you! For us, the chips were a bit too salty and the dessert too sweet. For the average American, this is a pretty good restaurant, but my family and I prefer foods that are higher in flavor and easier to digest. The star rating is about the service. I came home to see my family & take my mom & granny out for Mother's Day! We walked in and were greeted right away and seated immediately. We sat down, talked, spoke to a few tables around that we knew & started looking over the menu. We talked for a while...and it dawned on me...no one has been by to say "I'll be with you in a minute" or even take our drink orders at least. Any time I have to get up & go ask if we're going to be waited on today....we have a problem! Keep in mind, there were quite a few waitstaff, some working at the work station right by where we were sitting and some just standing around visiting and some that kept passing by. I went to the manager to ask if we could get service & our waitress was just standing up there talking to him...along with about 3-4 other servers. OK. Our waitress was apologetic & came over right away to take our drink orders & appetizer order. She brought our drinks back & took our orders. The appetizer was brought out & about 10 minutes later came the food. I ordered the fried catfish basket, my mom had a steak w/ mushroom gravy, & veggies and my granny had the chicken fried steak, mashed taters & green beans. All of the food was great!! Our waitress came back over once to check on us....I had to get her attention to ask for the check!!! If you are starving and must eat then okay give this place a try. If you can wait then wait. The service here was excellent and our waiter was very knowledgable and polite. Unfortunately the food is under par. The vegetables are steamed with a lot of butter and still managed to still be under seasoned. The pot roast was over cooked and dry. It was topped with a salty thick sauce that did not remind me of any home cooking I know of. The fried shrimp was at par but for all I know it came from a frozen bag. Bland bland food. Very closely resembles something you would get from a cafeteria at an elderly home. Very unclean if you happen to look closely. There is always a wait for some ungodly reason. Other than being dragged here a few times as a kid once on my own was enough to decide I will not be returning. This is my favorite restaurant in Corsicana so far. We moved into this area in January and have not tried many local restaurants. We have eaten here many times already. Good food, good service and we have not had a bad waiter/waitress yet. I not only would recommend this location but I would HIGHLY recommend this location. Stoped here on our way to Dallas for dinner. I had the chicken and dumplings and husband had chicken fried steak. Both were delicious. I'm pretty picky about my chicken and dumplings so almost didn't order it. So glad I did they were wonderful. It was prime dinner time, the place was full and we had our food in less than 10 minutes. For me I'm all about the service! Sadly this trip , the service wasn't that great. The waiter Alex, I don't know if he was new or what but he seemed very distracted. Had to ask for my husbands drink twice. They didn't bring my salad when my husbands mushrooms were brought and had to ask for it. Had to ask for refills on drinks. Ordered another margarita at time he refilled tea. It was never brought and had to ask other waitstaff for it. The entire time we were there he never actually checked on us to see if we needed anything . This is the only time we have ever received poor service. I'm hoping he will improve and still tipped him as he wasn't unfriendly. The food was excellent as always!!! And the margaritas for the price of three dollars were awesome!! read more

Had a gathering of about 14 family members from out of town here which was a surprise for my Mother since it was close to her Birthday. The service was great, the food arrived quickly and everything tasted exceptionally good. This was my first time eating at Cotton Patch Café and I was just there yesterday but I am already planning my next trip because there are so many things on the menu I would like to try.
