BBQ was great, but the star of the show was definitely the signature pickle pasta salad. They do a great job of balancing sweet and sour and surprisingly the dish was so refreshing. I had the ribs and brisket. Brisket was good, ribs were decent, just a bit dry for my liking. Portions were a bit small as well. Overall, food was good! read more

Hubs and I love this place. We live in Chenal Valley but we gladly travel a few miles to eat their yummy food. Awesomely good 'cue, brisket, sausages, and excellent sides. We order our Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. Guest love it all! Imagine corn soufle, collard greens, deviled egg potato salad, pasta, and especially love the smoked sausages. Oh and the turkey! We had my sons rehearsal dinner at Count Porkula on Saturday, October 28. Upon arrival, we were directed to the self service drinks and shown to the bar if we were interested in imbibing. They had our buffet style meal on tables in a section where we all sat at tables near each other. We were offered pulled pork, chicken, buns, bbq beans, & potato salad. I chose the chicken and beans. Everyone agreed it was fantastic! I loved the chicken so much I ended up going back for seconds. I have no clue as to the cost, but my son said it was quite reasonable. The restaurant was clean as were the restrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. On my way to Smoke Shake which was closed on Monday we ended up here. First time and it was awesome. We split the brisket and pulled pork combo sandwich with fries and a single rib. Sandwich was piled high with meat. The rib was huge. Their sauce is great. I went back last night and ordered the same thing with my wife. The sandwich was still great but not close to the same amount of meat. The rib was smaller as well. I was a little disappointed it wasn't consistent from our first visit. I had a difficult time choosing what I wanted to eat because everything looked amazing! The lady at the register was so sweet. Upon walking into the restaurant, I didn't notice a sign in regards to where to order or someone to ask. I attempted to get the RUDE bartender's attention and she abruptly turned her head. I initially thought, perhaps she just did not hear me. So I tried again, she looked DIRECTLY in my eyes and abruptly turned her head AGAIN. I then walked up to the bar and she glances at me as though I was bothering her. Then, she says I can order at the bar or over there (flops her hand in the direction). After "bothering her" to inquire on where to order, I walked over to the counter counter to order. Eventually, a lady pops up to take my order. This lady was sooooo much more pleasant and helpful. I've been here twice since they've opened, and both times my wife and I have ordered their trio plate to get a good sampling of their meats and sides. First off, the folks are very friendly and service both times was prompt. The food, overall, was really good. My wife and I are BBQ snobs and are very particular about our 'cue. So let me give you the lowdown on what I had. The pulled pork was good - a solid "B" in my book; so were the ribs. (Keep in mind that I'm a pretty harsh judge of BBQ so a "B" is a pretty darn good rating in my book.) The sausage was outstanding - an easy "A" and the surprise standout to me was the brisket - "A+" both times I had it. That surprised me, because here in Arkansas it's all about the pork, so I was especially impressed by the brisket! I tried the smoked chicken and it was fine, but not quite as good as everything else. The other big surprise is that I've found myself addicted to the pickle pasta. My wife ordered it, I turned my nose up at it until she talked me into trying it. WOW! Just amazing stuff. The seasoned fries are really good as well. Will we be back? Absolutely! Visited at four, out of the rush. Pretty empty except for the bar. Pulled pork plate with Mac and cheese and fries. With drink and $2 for complete self-service the total was $20. Pork is not hot, not cold... an unappetizing lukewarm. Slight Smokey flavor. Sauce is fine but I wouldn't buy a bottle. Fries are hot as is the Mac which is the star of my plate. I'll pass on the raw onions, raw jalapeño and wonder bread slice. $20? Really? I would have given three but went into the bathroom and it REEKED of weed. Bring the kids at your own risk. Whole Hog will not be challenged these folks in my book- except hard alcohol is a nice option. Looks like the positives are only coming from ribs and brisket. Finally tried the BBQ here. I'm not one to crave BBQ but when I do, I want GOOD BBQ with a nice selection of sides. We ordered the BBQ salad (skip this), brisket sandwich and the burger. Also ordered the pasta salad, Mac and cheese and an extra side order or fries. As for the salad, the spinach didn't hold up to the heaviness of the pulled pork so it just fell flat for us. However, the meats ON the salad and IN the sandwiches are the star of the show which is why we ordered takeout here to take our BBQ craving that night. Everyone in the family LOVED the fries while I can pass on them. They were seasoned with what I assume is their house seasoning. There was a little sweetness in the seasoning so that threw me off and I couldn't get beyond the sweetness. I just didn't enjoy it. I wanted to desperately LOVE the dill pickle pasta salad. I really wanted to love it. It was not my thing. BUT, the BBQ is delicious and there was enough meat on all the items we ordered to make additional sandwiches the following day. read more

Ordered and paid online. My card was charged, but the restaurant said they had no order for us. But they sure had my money. Asked to speak to the manager to try and figure out what the issue was so we could get our order. Manager told the lady who answered the phone (very rudely) that he was busy, had tickets, to take a message, and maybe someone would call us back tomorrow. The lady didn't know my wife overheard the exchange. So, my wife left and we paid again for dinner elsewhere. For my first time trying the new Count Porkula on the Boulevard, I ordered the Almost Famous Nachos with chicken and a side of dill pickle pasta salad. Everything about it was perfect. The nachos were hefty and very filling! They had delicious coleslaw, fresh jalapeños, bbq sauce, and yummy chicken. The dill pickle pasta salad was also amazing. Best barbecue in Central Arkansas. I do not give cheap endorsements for barbecue, that is a sin. until now, Whole Hog has been my number one spot, and rightly so. They won second prize and ribs out of 10,000 contestants and first prize and pulled pork and Whole Hog got a 10,000 contestants. But after having count Porcello, I'm convinced this is clearly the best ribs, the chicken and brisket were amazing as well, I don't eat pulled pork. my daughters barbecue nachos were cold but they immediately rectified the problem and the owner came out and made sure it was up to par. I had the baby back ribs plate. Fall off the bone delicious. My husband had the brisket plate. It too was excellent. The sides were also good. We sampled the potato salad, coleslaw, and corn pudding. The barbecue sauce was good. The spicy barbecue sauce is a thinner vinegar base. So nice to have two types to choose from. Highly recommend. read more

I stood out by the labeled carry out window for a bit. a few employees walked by and went in the back but I was already calling at this point. They said to come in to the bar. No problem. Was just disappointed the window wasn't open or sign saying so while I waited. I paid almost $17 for a loaded potato with a brisket upgrade and 25% tip. The potato was good. Very little meat and unfortunately 5 of the 7 bites were too fatty to eat. Very little slaw.
