Just played two of the games at Countdown Games, Shock & Awe and Time Bomb. Both were very well thought out, and included multiple rooms and floors. They incorporated some really neat technology, not relying on simple lock and key puzzles. Will definitely go back to play some of the other games. read more

Countdown Games has been an incredible experience. My wife and I have escaped from every room and last night did our first masquerade experience. Let me say, Masquerade is genius. It's a room with massive replay ability. The game really puts you into the atmosphere, and I truly believe it was so great because the guide that was with us. Kirby made the game very understandable, and he worked/joked along with us to make sure we were all having fun along the way. It's not my first time having Kirby as a guide/host. I have to say....This place is awsome. It is a great time for a group of friendly or family or co workers even. It is a simple concept really. A group of people gets locked into a room where they get a series of well placed clues to figure out how to get out of a room before their timer runs out. We do have another "escaping" place in Lexington, but this one specifically puts a different twist on it. This one specifically uses technology in a few of the rooms and also has different levels of skills to get out of specific rooms. Very impressive. I have been in a couple of these rooms. One of my favorites has to be the one based loosely on clue. You are locked in a room with many little rooms inside of it. You are given a tablet with your profile on it. This profile will tell you what skills you have and what role you are playing for that round. This one is a great one in my opinion. I wouldn't suggest this to quite or shy people to be honest. It takes entire group to help catch a killer in my opinion. Stop in here and check this place out. you will love it. read more

My absolute favorite place to hang out with friends whenever we can! I have been to this place thrice and my experience has been nothing short of awesome every time. We have played 3 games so far - The Curse of the Pharaoh (difficult but can be cracked), The Masquerade (too much fun) and the Bank Heist (good but difficult). The guys that run this place are good fun too. The first time we came to this place was to play the Curse of the Pharaoh and we had originally booked the game for 10 but only 4 turned up and the folks happily treated us to free goodies. The Masquerade was a real party - it'a a murder mystery and an awesome game if you are looking to just have fun without wanting to rack your brains a lot. But the Bank Heist is where we were stumped. It is very logically built and you have to solve very well thought puzzles to rob the bank - definitely doable but not as much fun as the other 2. They have also launched a new game - Castle and it's supposedly one of the best in the country and I can't to wait back here to play it. read more

I have done 50+ escape rooms and exited the room instantly thinking that Abduction was the worst room I've ever played. The room was very clean and well put together but the majority of the time you spend escaping is simply attempting to put puzzle pieces together... literal physical pieces. The actual riddles were lazy and obvious, ie, "How many people had _____ ?" The puzzles that were placed in the room absorb most of your time and require no brain activity but a lot of perseverance and frustration. I can't speak for the other rooms but if you want to do Abduction you might better well be off saving your money and ripping up paper and putting the pieces back together. read more

This escape room location was honestly one of the ABSOLUTE worst I have ever been to. I have done over 75+ escape rooms all over the U.S. and this ranks in my bottom 5%. I would rather be abducted than have to suffer through "Abduction" again. It's literally manual labor with little riddles or clues. I'm confused how this is even considered an escape room considering how it is designed. I didn't pay to put together a Rube Goldberg machine. Also, at the end, my group of three did not escape, to which a worker randomly entered and said "You didn't finish. I can take a picture of you guys but it be like you're losers." Meh. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Was Quite Incredible, never done any Escape Room of this quality. Intricate puzzles to solve and use of advanced technology rather than just a bunch of combonation locks. Did the castle puzzle was 3 stories tall, with puzzles on all the levels! Cant wait to go back read more

I brought a group of 14 kids, and the Countdown Games could not possibly have been easier to work with or more accommodating with my group. We ended up playing in two different rooms (Shock and Awe and the Bank Heist), and all of the kids (ages 9-14) had an awesome time. The clues and rooms were high-tech and super fun and challenging. Hope this place can give the Breakout Games a run for its money! read more

Super friendly staff at this place! They are very knowledgeable about their games. Our party has done close to 10 escape type rooms in the past and this was VERY different from any of them. There was a TON of money spent at this place. Very high tech rooms (we did a total of 2: Pharaoh's Curse and Time Bomb) The facility was definitely the nicest we've been in so far. Like I said, the games were very different from traditional escape rooms. There were no locks in Pharaoh's Curse; lots of tech with doors sliding open and Pharaoh talking to you over the speakers...even live critters in both rooms! If you're an escape room junkie or just looking for a really cool team experience; this should definitely be your next stop! Very reasonable priced too :-) read more

We went with a group of six people & had a blast! This is like the "breakout games" and I have only done one here but it was really fun. By the way six people is a great amount -less than that and it's hard for just a couple to figure out the clues but more than that and everyone is arguing! We did a game called "shock and awe" (which supposedly is a science game and I am terrible at science) but not to fear...you don't have to have memorized the periodic tables or know how to breakdown molecules! They give you 60 minutes to get out and we got out in 51 minutes so we conquered this room! They also give you a walkie-talkie and you are allowed to ask clues if you get stumped. I know the breakout games give you three clues and I don't know if this one was unlimited or not but we only used three clues. They are always watching you and you can always get out of the door if you need to before you solve the puzzle, so don't fret if you're claustrophobic or think you are locked in a room -that is really not the case. I would recommend this and I'm looking forward to going back and trying one of the other room experiences. read more

I was contacted by the manager at Countdown Games, who was extremely gracious and asked for any advice I had for improving the game and making the slide more safe for the future, as well as offering a complete explanation for everything that happened and apologizing for the injuries myself and my aunt got during the game. He offered us a refund and invited us to come back, which I will definitely be taking him up on sometime in the near future. I am extremely satisfied with this response and am updating my review and rating accordingly. read more

UPDATE: The manager of Countdown Games spoke with my niece yesterday and sent me an email regarding our experience there Friday night. He was most apologetic and has refunded our money. He let us know that the issues we had were resolved on their end. The manager was very apologetic and professional. I am very glad he contacted us. We will definitely give this place another try. Thank you, Countdown Games! I went to Countdown Games, Pharaoh's Curse, with Ryen W. and everything that she has written about our experience is true. There are several disappointments she left out, but I cannot repeat them now because I still have a headache from banging the back of my head on the floor at the end of the slide. Since several of the clues were not working, maybe they should have fixed them before they allowed people in to play the room at $20 per person. Whoever was supposed to have been watching us was possibly distracted by the group of children who were running around and yelling in the hallway where he sat. Which would explain the slack in his reaction time to trigger those doors that didn't open once we had solved the relevant clues and prevented him from hearing what we were saying in the room, especially with regard to those of us who had been hurt going down their slide. There is absolutely nothing to cushion your landing at the bottom of the slide. There will always be people who will have very different opinions and reactions to the same thing. It's a part of life, and Countdown Games should be prepared to, once in a while, receive a negative review. However, their reaction to my niece's review on their site caused them to respond to same in a very childlike manner, accusing her, and therefore all of us, of being liars and spies from another game company, while, at the same time, removing the "Reviews" page from their Facebook page. I have to say that for my first time in an escape game it was absolutely terrific! Even though we didn't finish within an hour, they were nice enough to let us finish. It's a lot harder than you would think. It is also much cheaper than the competition. Bring your friends because the more minds at work the faster you'll escape! We did the Abduction Room. The room was really impressive and intricate. Very clean and expansive. We were able to escape, but it was a good challenge. The story didn't really line up or seem to closely connect with the clues, but it was fun and I would recommend it. read more

Time Bomb blew the house down with puzzles that made us crazy. Great concept, great room. We failed to escape the room but will surely get back for revenge. This is by far the best escape game in Lexington. I have played probably 30 escape rooms across the country, and this is right up there with the best of the best. The facility is outstanding, the manager was very accommodating, and the puzzles were unique and very creative. We're only in town for a few days and we're already planning on coming back to play another room. The bathroom could have used some attention, but otherwise this place is 10/10. read more

I did Pharaoh's curse with four other people. Really unique room! I've done seven prior to this one and the multi-level, keyless, lockless room was definitely unique. This place is far and away better than any other venue I've been to (did Breakout Games a few times and a different brand in Vegas once). The rooms are much bigger, the puzzles harder, and teamwork is necessary. I wouldn't try it with less than 4 people, but we did it with 4 (2 were first-timers) and made it out. It's such a great place. We will be going back soon to do the second puzzle and again once they build out more. Book this over Breakout; a better experience at a better price!!! read more

A group of friends and I went to Countdown Games, it was very disappointing to say the least. After finishing our game we took a picture with the time and room we escaped from. My friends and I were joking and i was getting called names, a worker, who's name i did not catch, joined in on the "fun" of calling me fat and ugly. He proceeded to crop me out of the photo and claimed "he was taking one for the team." I cannot recommend this place to ANYONE while this man still works there. read more

This place is EXACTLY what I would expect from an escape games place! Very spacious compared to the claustrophobic rooms of the competitors. I can say that I really loved both the games there and can not wait for them to get more! The designs of the games, and technology were far superior to others. Hidden pieces and locks, compared to just walking in a small room and visually seeing every lock you need to get unlocked to get out with other escape games. Really enjoyed it. read more
