Awesome spot. We heard about the pies here and it did not disappoint. Lots of options and large portions. Our means were fresh and promptly served. The waitstaff was friendly, welcoming and helpful with menu choices. It's a great spot if you're traveling Route 66 as we were with some great photo-ops outside and another place to get your Passport stamped. We stumbled onto the restaurant while staying in LeEoy, IL on our way across country. Our waitress was very friendly. Broasted chicken was delicious and the pie! I'm not generally a pie eater but couldn't resist. And good prices too. While talking with the waitress she told us to visit downtown Atlanta to see the other giants (there is one at the restaurant). It's old Route 66 and there is a museum and more giants. All in all a serendipitous occasion! read more

The food here is good overall. However the last 2 times I have eaten breakfast here I have not even been offered a single refill on my coffee. This is unacceptable during normal breakfast hours. As a result I did not tip either time. If you can't refill my coffee then you did not do the basics let alone go above and beyond. read more

Service at this little spot in central Illinois was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean and decorated for an upcoming holiday. They had the broasted chicken special on Sunday, so I figured I'd try it. The chicken was well cooked, but bland. The fries were not crispy enough and also bland. They are known for pie, so I got a piece of the strawberry rhubarb, which is my favorite. The crust was decent, it overall it was bland. What a delightful stop along Route 66 this has been - so good we've made it a point to return. Country Aire is a spotless spot with solid food and incredible desserts. It seems that the whole operation is a positive place to be as the staff are both very friendly but willing to suggest great places to visit in the area. The kitchen is on point with food coming out quickly and fresh. I had a club sandwich which includes bacon and that bacon could have starred in its own show - very flavorful and plenty of it. This wasn't your ordinary club sandwich. We also had a chicken salad sandwich which was first-rate as well. Very flavorful and plenty of chicken salad on the sandwich. Fortunately we planned ahead as I saved room for cheesecake which was, no exception, the best restaurant cheesecake I have ever had. We also had a slice of peach pie and it was outstanding. Apparently Lumi, who is the co-owner and pie queen, has won a bunch of awards for her pies and I would give her an award if I had one to give. We came upon this restaurant while traveling south and looking for a place to have lunch. The food better than expected and the potions generous. My husband's fried catfish plate was really good he said. Our waitress Natali was exceedingly friendly and attentive. The clientele on a Sunday afternoon was mostly families out for a Sunday dinner. Ordered the Deluxe Breakfast Burger tonight. A burger topped with a fried egg, American cheese, and bacon. What I got was a burger with absolutely no flavor to it at all!! Besides the flavor from the bacon, the fried egg was over cooked, so I didn't even have that delicious yolk from the egg to help this poor excuse for a burger. I didn't even eat it all, all I ate was the bacon portion of it. Thankfully their fries have always been good. Why I paid for a deluxe burger, when I didn't even get anything extra on the burger then what was stated on the menu is beyond me?? I had to remind the waitress that the meal came with a cup of soup, which I had the cheddar broccoli. The cup of soup was good. Let's hope their cherry cheesecake tastes good. One of the best family owned restaurants you will find! I recommend all to come eat the fried chicken, great all around people who make you feel at home every time you visit. Great good, large portions, fair prices, super friendly fast but patient service when it took us awhile to figure out what we wanted to order. My daughter and I stopped during a long drive, and they were great. The fresh pies looked amazing and the pan cheesecakes, though we were too full to order any lol. If we lived closer, would have taken some to go. They were happy to let us rest and chat for a bit, made us feel very welcome not rushed out the door. We had the house skillet and the gyro skillet, each were fabulous. Family oriented. Not fancy and we were happy for it. Loved all the kiddos that were being doted on during our visit. Easy to write about being underwhelmed. I found the restaurant on a chat room about places to eat between Chicago and my hometown. This place was recommended twice. I must believe the writers actually meant to praise the gas station nearby. Everything I ordered tasted as if it was unfrozen and reheated. The flies were everywhere as I sat at the lunch counter. I asked the happy server to make a recommendation for the meal. The "Horseshoe" seemed like something they were proud of so I went that direction. The bottom layer of white bread was untoasted. There was a healthy amount of deli sliced turkey. But not like tasty sliced turkey. More like the processed, vacuum packed type turkey you can remember from elementary school nightmare lunches. Atop the protein was your basic paper pouch- just-add-water yellow-ish gravy. I enjoyed less than half of the dish before the flies chose to try and eat the rest. I had mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. They were the frozen and fried type, who can go wrong with those. The only high point was the pie display. These fruit pies were set up wonderfully in the well maintained glass display case. I purchased a slice of blackberry pie for the road. Pie was a good choice. The food was not great but the flies really killed my meal. Unless I was extremely Pie-Hungry, I would not stop at this restaurant again. read more

We were passing through the area at lunch time on a Sunday on Route 66. A local resident told us this was the best restaurant in town. Bless their hearts. What we were served made us glad we were not locals. Our soup was tepid and tasted like it was straight out of the can. The lettuce in the salad was so wet, it diluted the salad dressing. It appeared that most everything on the menu was prepackaged for a fast heat up. We wish we had read the reviews and kept rolling down the road. I hope they choose to do better. read more

My breakfast for my wife and I was under $15 with an extra juice added, & we were very full and left food on the plate! PS get a slice of pie (even to go if you must) you won't regret it!!! Complaints? Ok the parking lit can get full during busy times, and the entry doors don't do justice to the new interior face-lift a couple years ago.
