Love this place! So many great finds! Candy, dressing, hot sauce, and a million other things. A little pricey, but it's not like we come here everyday. They have very good hot dogs. Fresh buns, good quality condiments, and fast service accurately depict what you can expect. But as good as their hot dogs are, their cheeseburgers are twice as good. The COOLEST stop ever! They have everything lunch, ice cream, candy store, bakery, fresh produce, deli, and a ton speciality food items. We had a blast looking around. We had ready hd lunch but the food looked awesome! They also had a huge variety of packaged tamales and salsas. We were leaving the next morning but i so wanted to load up! We flew home with a roasted sweet onion mustard, a bottle of Carolina bbq sauce, and a bag of homemade chocolate dipped biscotti. If you want authentic Mexican Tamales look no further! These are the best! I love the pork ones. They are a little spicy, but not hot. The chocolate covered pretzels with caramel are to die for! We loved stopping here for some sweet treats, they have great customer service and normally I would say they earn five stars but this weekend we bought three Caramel Apples, and the first one we bit into was MOLDY!!! The worst part is that we had them sliced in the store and the worker told us that she switched out one of them out because when she sliced into it she noticed it was bad. I guess that should have been a warning. I'm really disappointed because I was sharing it with my two year old, I'm glad I bit into this part because I instantly spit it out. It could have made my little one sick. When I went back to look at the core it was clearly bad. I don't feel comfortable eating the other two now. I really love this place. I drive by it a couple of times per month for work and always make a point to stop. They have plenty of friendly staff to assist you, homemade chocolates and candy, fresh fruit, a gift shop and a great deli. They also serve authentic Mexican food that is really delicious. I especially like the homemade Tamales that you can eat in the restaurant and buy a package to take home and make. Another bonus is all of the free samples. This is a great place to stop and stretch your legs in the middle of nowhere Washington. They even have clean restrooms, something you can't always find on the road. read more

You won't find a better place when in the area. The deli/food is awesome, ice cream yum, handmade chocolates & candies holy crap. Then it's off to peruse thousands of jars of everything - from 10 kinds of pickled eggs (okay anything you can think of pickled is here) to sauces (sweet, savory & super hot - couldn't count them all) to salsas made in house (and tortilla chips to go with it). Trust me when I say bring your wallet, once you start walking through this emporium of goodness, you will have more than you can hold in your arms. Oh yeah, and then the produce... I stop here on work trips every time I'm out here and wish I had a bigger stomach so I could try more stuff. My wife and I love Country Mercantile. Any time we pass it on our travels, we stop. There are so many good things to buy! I will stick with what we have tried. The different fresh salsas are tasty and most of them are available to sample. The same section also has packaged enchiladas, burritos, and tamales. I like the tamales best. There are more sauces and marinades than I can describe, but the sriracha aioli is delicious. There is a huge candy section and something is always being sampled. There is also a full service deli counter. Everything I have tried there has been good. Prices could be a tiny bit lower, but for this kind of freshness and quality, I am willing to pay. read more

I love this place. I really do. They have so much amazing stuff in there you really need to a lot a good 45 minutes to walking around the first time you go. My hubby has been working up in Spokane so when I go up to visit I stop there going and coming back or he comes down to Boise to come home I have him stop to grab my favorites. I always make sure to go through when I'm hungry because their deli counter has some delicious food. You want a yummy lunch? They got it. You want some amazing chocolates and candies? They got it! Enjoyed this little hole-in-the-wall off the side of Highway 395 last week. They have chocolate, fudge, various fruits and vegetables, jams and jellies, some country-type items, tamales, salsa and other Mexican food items, and much more. The prices are unfortunately quite expensive...almost tourist-trap-type prices. I did get a large jar of blueberry preserves that I will hopefully enjoy. This place is amazing, when ever we have to drive through the Tri Cities we always stop here. They have the best farm fresh products from local farms as well as lots of sauces, jams, spices and they even have a chocolate factory!! It is all so amazing and fresh. There are some take home meals and fresh salsa's that are to die for make sure you try the Mad Maxx it is our favorite and grab a bag of the fresh tortilla chips!! The Columbia Basin has a very proud farming community and this store is a celebration of it and the surrounding NW. The store offers mainly food items from the area that you can't find at most stores. If your driving 395, its a must stop- at least its always been for us. On the outskirts of Pasco, with many road signs ads is the Country Mercantile. We stopped by expecting to find fresh fruits and may be some veggies. We are in for a huge surprise. This store has everything, fresh selection of fruits, asparagus, home made chocolates, gifts, salsa, sausages and seemingly endless array of hot sauces, preserves and jams of every fruit you can imagine. Deli was extremely disappointing. If you're considering ordering a mexican dish, more specifically the Tamale plate... don't. The "authentic" beans came in the form of water and two blocks of clumpy butter, Looked like old clumpy dumpling soup. The rice was very greasy and gross, the pork tamale was decent too bad it was mostly masa and about the size of a sliver. The beef was not good, still just as small. Disgrace to Mexican food. We've been going here for years and are never disappointed! In a nutshell, they truly have an impressive selection of WA and OR preserves, sauces, baking items, pastas, and ciders. Their house-made chocolate delights and caramel apples would also satisfy ANY chocoholic out there- far better than Rocky Mtn Choc Factory with quadruple the selection. I suggest trying the lemon chocolate truffle- surprisingly superb! The only drawback is that its really expensive. Their local produce especially so. However, they literally let you sample EVERYTHING and have created a store culture of encouraging ample samples...lots of self-serve access.. its why the experience is always so much fun! Plus, their lunch sandwiches/wraps are the only thing quite reasonable priced. So... if you indulge in ample sampling and grab a sandwich (they are all good!), it almost evens out. I also appreciate that they have lots of staff on hand (always friendly) and you never really have to wait in line even on the busiest days. As long as you understand this is a place to splurge and not count calories, you should absolutely check it out! read more

How did I drive by this place hundreds of times without ever stopping? Unbelievable. We were headed to a BBQ at my parents house and needed to pick something up to bring. "Why not stop at Country Mercantile?" we thought. We picked up a bucket of delicious rainier and bing cherries for around $13 and then continued browsing through the store. OMG...THEY MAKE THEIR OWN FUDGE. We had to try some and decided it was just as good as the delicious fudge from Cabelas. Then, we saw the selection of hundreds of homemade chocolates. We noticed they had sugar free options and also pretty much everything had the option of milk or dark chocolate. You put a glove on and help yourself. Be careful...we ended up with 5 lbs (well over $50 in just chocolates)...oops. Man, everything we brought to the BBQ was a hit. People raved about the chocolates, some even stated they were the best they'd ever eaten. I will never buy chocolates anywhere else. They honestly make Boehms and See's taste like crap. They also had a huge assortment of jams, fruit syrups, fresh produce (fuji apples the size of softballs), homemade salsa (wish we'd bought some), and much, much more. Wish we'd had more time to explore! There was also dining area upstairs, fresh deli, ice cream shoppe, and a giftshop tucked away in a corner. I had no idea we had such a tourist attraction right under our noses! Tons of out-of-state plates in the parking lot. It's like our own little Wall Drug. If you like good salsa then this is your place! They have a bunch of different varieties and a sample station to taste them. The Country Salsa and Pico de Gallo are my favorites. They also have a deli with all kinds of sandwiches and salads and tamales. Tons of other sweets, baked goods, canned goods and gifts. Ice cream and milkshakes and gelato too! Would have given 5 stars but men's room had no hot water. When I brought it to the attention of an employee they shrugged and responded that it hasn't worked in awhile.
