an omelet and biscuits on a table

Country fried steak was unappetizing & hubs felt it was almost frozen food reheated. I got the philly cheesesteak omelet and it basically large chunks of green bell peppers, onions and cheese glued together with slices of the similar beef from the country fried steak. Then the omelet part was a flat pancake like scrambled eggs holding the cheese meat combo like a taco. I was so hungry I ate as much as I could and the best part was the hash browns. Hubs for country fries which were cubes of potatoes & tasted meh. Overall we ate as much as we could and continued on the road to regret not waiting until exit 187 for a Dennys. My stomach was upset from the greasiness of the food.

I came here because i had a sudden urge to eat with truck drivers, as i admire their long haul. The food was okay, as I just kept it simple: scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast and orange juice. The eggs were cooked as i ordered them, but the hash browns were a bit greasy, but it was manageable. The waitress, Blondie, saw me sit down, so i didn't have to worry about waving someone down, but their booths have large walls, so one could easily be ignored, if not seen. I didn't stay long, and I most likely won't eat here again, due to the high price of a simple breakfast. The waitress was nice, but seemed disconnected, like she had other things on mind, but overall, it was a good experience.

    So good!

Came in stomach growling, ordered the chicken and green chili omelet, left very satisfied. Cost about ten bucks including tip.

I decided to stay with the Mexican food theme. I had a taco, an enchilada, and a chile relleno. Everything was good! I haven't had a good chile relleon in a long time, and this one was good. The sauce was good on the enchilada. Everything was good. I had a tickle in my throat, and the chile was a bit spicy and made me cough, but it was good. I enjoyed the food and the company. If I am in the area again I will come back.

The restrooms were retro, very 90s, run down but clean, and if I was running from the Sinaloa Cartel...I could picture myself hiding in a place like this. Almost like a mix between the films Memento and Breaking Bad. But yes, Lisa's Grill. I had to stop in at this Southwestern Flare Diner! It's situated inside the truck stop, with a very 70s & 80s atomic age diners vibe like that one scene in the Kingsmen movie. Loved the ceiling, bold colored red, glossy, with silver...makes Johnny Rockets look artificial. So I had to try their top picks on the menu. The Red Rooster -- country fried steak with red hot sauce, and their hatch chilli burgers. The food was ok, Id probably rate a 3.5/5. Menu is heavily influenced by Spanish cuisine. If your looking for a quick breakfast along route 66 in Central New Mexico, this is a good spot to take a break. Overall service, environment food I'd give it a 4/5. Seems pretty popular amongst the locals, and place is pretty packed for a lunch run. Yea, definitely come check it out!

Without food, but you could bring your own or order in. Nope, the brewery closes at 5:00 on a Saturday. We asked at our lodging about options, and Blackie's was on a list they gave us. Blackie's was classified on Yelp as only a liquor store, so it didn't show up on any searches. They do have a package liquor store on site as well. The front entry that is shared with the liquor store had bars on the doors. Inside, Blackie's had VFW/event hall vibes. There was not much to speak of in the way of decor. They did have food and you need to order from the Double C dining room server, which shares the space, and if you're sitting at the bar you'll have a separate tab. I was glad to see they had enchiladas with green or red chile sauce, and burgers with green or red chiles (1/2 pound or 1/3 pound). Prices were reasonable at $12-ish for a meal. The bar and neighboring large room featured pool tables and darts, and a 20-ish year old TouchTunes but there was no music playing. Sounds like after the dinner crowd leaves the music might get turned up. Our vantage point view was staring into an empty room with booths and wooden chairs, but eventually some people filed in there to play pool. There was no internet on our AT&T phones which led us to watch rodeo tv and talk to some of the customers. I drank vodka tonics and the Mr. had Coors Banquet. Our bar tab was cheap. Mr. R ordered the nachos, and they were pretty huge. I ordered enchiladas with green chile sauce and the presentation was quite nice and the beef tasted fresh. It was a good choice. People had to wait a bit at times for drinks, but overall this turned out to be a better stop than we expected!

Great servers! Everyone was helpful and kind so front of house manager must be doing their job!…read moreFood was delicious. Crispy Brussels sprouts had great flavor but way too much cayenne pepper (which adds nothing but heat) my husband ate them but said he would prefer less heat. I had 2 bites and gave up. Baked brie was amazing I loved the granny Smith apples! My husband loved them too. We also got the hummus duo which has dates on it and I used a date in the brie that was fantastic! I'll ask for that next time! It was the bomb. Hummus duo was good the watermelon radish was beautiful on the plate but gave both hummus a bitter flavor. Shrimp and grits. We live in Alabama currently and this was our least favorite dish of the day. Shrimp were cooked well and so were the grits but there was just something else it needed. Parmesan cheese and some onions maybe. Greek salad delicious. The flash fried chick peas made it. We needed more dressing and the wait staff was prompt and sweet about it. Spicy Lime Ceasar was ok till he requested more dressing then it was amazing. I was afraid of ordering it but the dressing wasn't too spicy . White sangria I had was disappointing it was more of a 1995 wine spritzer than a wine infused with citrus which is the very essence of sangria. It was ok and had I ordered a wine spritzer I would say yummo but I ordered sangria. Pork Belly flat bread was the winner of the night the tomato jam made that dish. I would love more on it next time but we will definitely be ordering that dish again! Yes we had a lot of left over food! But I love sampling a menu and this menu has a lot to offer. We will be back to try 4 or five other things. I look forward to my return.

(Except for the noise from an occasional loud vehicle that drove by!) We ordered two appetizers: Korean Chicken Bites and Parmesan Zucchini Ribbons. The chicken bites weren't our favorite. Just okay. But the zucchini ribbons with the lemon basil aioli were so good! I would go back just to order that starter again. One disappointment is that I really wanted to order the Shishito Peppers. No longer on the menu. My meal was the Pastrami Reuben with fries. I switched out the Swiss cheese for cheddar. I liked the meal, and it was enough to bring half of the sandwich home for lunch the next day. The other two ordered the Crispy Pork Belly & Tomato Jam flat bread. One liked it, the other was just okay with it. Two of us ordered sangria. It was white, which came as a surprise to us. It was less sweet than we prefer. Another in our group ordered a mocktail and quite liked it. Got a second one and I don't believe they charged for the refill. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of it. It might sound like I have too many issues to give a 4-star rating, but I stand by it. The amience was nice. The wait staff was pleasant. The menu was creative. I'll definitely go back.

Awesome wifey found this spot during her research, so we had to check it out. The restaurant had loads of parking around it for cars and a reasonable sized lot next to it for trucks, buses and trailers. Our server managed the section of 6-8 tables well and refilled my sweet tea without request. She also brought out a basket of thin restaurant chips and salsa that was mildly hot and refreshingly flavorful. We ordered a stuffed Sopapilla which was very interesting--like a superior version of enchiladas; The Duke Burger which was bursting with flavors; and a Green Hill Chilli Burger which I found fascinating. The fries were superbly golden brown and had a particularly crispy exterior! We were so thrilled with our lunches that we ordered a piece of pie from the case. We were informed that a lady who was not an employee of the restaurant makes and sells them there. We did not catch the hint, and went ahead and ordered a Rhubarb Pie. It was a 2 star. Doughy crust, insipid filling--$4.50 mistake... That said, we will certainly return to visit whenever we pass through.
