Tulas is the kind of place I'd take my parents to on a visit. It's nothing outlandish or wild on the menu, has a fun atmosphere without being Rowdy, and they have lots of seating and parking. The portions are fine, and the meals themselves are solid but not impressive. read more

Tonight, we went to Tulsa's Kitchen for a lite dinner and a dessert to celebrate my wife's birthday. We shared a club sandwich and cup of tomato bisque soup. It was very good and they didn't skimp on the meat. For dessert, we shared a bread pudding with vanilla ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauce on top. It was very tasty. It's an okay place with a good ambiance, though the kitchen can be a bit slow. Likely better for lunch. We got the prime rib that they only have on weekends. I would advise not getting this, since we later found out that it's not made to order. It's pre made (although it seems this is standard in restaurants) and sits in the warming area all day. Our prime rib was over "well done," it was "congratulations." Dry as a bone. Tough as nails. No way to get a prime rib there any other color since it's already premade. It's definitely not a steak place. I'll get a salad next time. read more

This was our first experience at Tula's, and it won't be our last. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated in a comfy and clean booth. Our server appeared quickly with water, our menus, and took our drink order. He returned just moments later and brought us a plate of complimentary green chile biscuits! Yum!! A few minutes went by and our drinks appeared and our food order was taken. About 10-12 minutes our food arrived hot and tasty! We both had the chicken strips which came with a side salad. It all was so good and filling. We had leftovers to take home. I do want to say they have a very nice wine list that is affordable unlike many more expensive Albuquerque restaurants. read more

After my PT today I needed a nice peaceful sit down lunch spot. No drive thru or fast food. Tulas came to mind since I hadn't been there in a while and I had good memories from before. I ordered the Cesar Salad w the Pan Seared Salmon on it, iced tea and the Panne Cotta w fresh fruit for desert. It came w cute yummy little onion rolls and soft butter. Everything made for a healthy early dinner. My servers were both very nice and efficient. Nina and Brandi made me very comfortable and took good care of me. We had been in once before and we returned today. Todays experience was outstanding even though we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. I had the kabobs with a BLT side salad. Everything was delicious! I especially liked the BLT side salad. Nice champagne vinaigrette. My husband had a bowl of green chile soup and he liked it ! We topped it off with panna cotta and espresso. The panna cotta had a nice consistency but was fairly bland. Nice raspberry sauce on top helped, as well as the fresh berries. More than sure we go here at least twice a month, Dion's really did the thing with this place. There's not one thing I've had or my husband has had that's not good. I love the Italian sausage pasta. The best pink sauce I've had in town. All the sandwiches are yummy. My husband loves the dipper and the turkey sandwich with green chile! There's the best little cheese green chile bread you can get before the meal that is just the best. Recently they've added some new things to the menu like an appetizer of meatballs. The best! We usually sit in the cocktail area vs the restaurant itself. The bartenders are always great servers. The mangers are especially great. Always attentive. I appreciate Bill, he's a wonderful manager. My husband really likes coming here cause he said he loves the layout and the decor. That it's all very down to earth! Let's start off with these complimentary green chile cheese biscuits with honey butter... I could eat these for the rest of my life, so delicious. Ordered the prime rib sandwich and quinoa salad. Thick slices of meat with amazing flavor. Salad was good. The mac and cheese is phenomenal, they had me at breadcrumbs and pecanwood bacon. Order a side of it, thank me later. I did contact her and we've had a lovely back-and-forth email exchange for the last week or so. Although I'm not here to review the food or the location I just want folks to know that Tula's does actually care what you think about their food/restaurant. The customer relations specialist was incredibly professional and interested in learning about what was not working for me. I really value good customer service, which seems to be lacking in many establishments nowadays. So let me say this... whether I go back to the Tula's Restaurant in-person or I order delivery from them, I will give them another chance simply because they clearly care about their customers and I will always support that, especially from a local business. I thought it was pretty good, even though I didn't care for the crispy chicken tenders that I ordered. The crust looked good on the chicken, however, under the crust it had some sort of weird herbally coating that I did not care for. Not saying it was bad, just not for me. I'd never tasted that herb before (it was not parsley that tasted "bad", maybe marjoram?). Also, the tzatziki was weird as well. I love tzatziki and have had it many times, but I think that same weird herb was in this. I had the Tula's Village salad as a side, and it was super salty. Perhaps this was from the olives, but if so, they should have been rinsed the olives, because mouthfuls of salt aren't what I paid for. That having been said... the Duke City Grilled Cheese that my husband ordered was pretty tasty. I question if there were 3 different types of cheese in it, however. This reminded me of middle of the road, diner stuff, maybe slightly elevated. The service was decent. However, all the girls looked alike and it was hard to know which one was our waitress (haha). Overall, it was ok. We could end up back here as it was very clean and comfortable. There were a good amount of people here, but it was not very noisy at all!! Call me old, but I think it's because the clientele we saw were mostly middle aged. There was one very polite young couple there with a child. So we finally came back for a second time and I have to say that it was just as Amazing if not better than our first visit. Our waitress was absolutely amazing and on point. Our drinks never went without refilling and she came around several times to check on us. She brought us out some complimentary green chile biscuits that were so scrumptious. I don't remember getting any the first time we visited but that was over a year ago so maybe this is something new. My husband ordered a Thai BBQ sandwich that he kept raving about and let's not forget his delicious lemonade with Hibiscus. He was in heaven and was very pleased. I had the turkey club with the tomato bisque soup and it was just as fantastic as I remembered. The soup actually got better and it was already near perfect and the sandwich tasted so fresh and delicious. We are definitely fans of Tula's and we will be coming back more often. We weren't sure what to expect heading to Tula's. The name almost suggested Italian or other Mediterranean cuisine. I've been back a couple times now and have enjoyed my meal each time. The patio is a great place to hang out with friends when the weather's nice. Ambiance Went to the one off I-25 . Nice and new. Very spacious. Lots of booths and tables. Feels clean and looks clean. Clean mens bathroom. Great location. Service Was ok. The gal seemed super busy had a lot of tables. Asked for extra tzatziki never got it. She was not very attentive but not her fault. I will chalk up to busy Sunday lunch rush. Food Came with two others they ordered the beef and chicken kabobs respectively. Both were one skewer with veggies and potatoes very uneventful for over 20 bucks a plate and meats were dry. I ordered the slouvaki chicken for 17 was basically a chicken gyro. Chicken was dry but had good taste. Also had tots on yhe side just your normal frozen tots nothing special did not even bring out ketchup. The best thing was the little biscuits and butter they give you when we sat down. Price was 72 bucks for lunch for 3 that is with drinking only waters and tip. Overall I give this a 3 stars. Ambiance was great. Food was so so. I will give another try there were some other food items that have possibilities. We will see. read more

Met family here for a nice dinner yesterday. We grabbed some seats at the bar and had beers as we waited for a table. We were seated outside which the weather was perfect for. I ended up ordering the Chicken Kabab which comes grilled vegetables and potatoes with a side of the tzatziki sauce. The chicken was tender and cooked just right. Dipping the chicken in the sauce is also really good. I really enjoyed my meal. The rest of the table enjoyed their dinner as well. To cap the night we ordered the Ice Cream Sunday and the Lemon Icebox Pie for dessert. Both were good but I would highly recommend the Lemon Icebox Pie. Tula's Kitchen is a new-ish concept coming from the same owners of a decades old beloved local brand, Dion's. I've only been once but I would go back again if it wasn't so far tbh I know I know, however, they are in the middle of opening a second location on pan American freeway that I certainly intend to visit. The food was good, I got a green chile turkey sandwich which tasted familiar. I asked my server for recommendations and he suggested the Mac n cheese stating it was the "best" he'd ever had. Now listen I am a self appointed Mac n cheese aficionado, now was it the best I'd ever had... no, however it was still really tasty. The service was great, they do have cocktails which I did not try but the bar was cute. The ambiance is nice, very clean, and still new. We were very satisfied with the experience overall, I look forward to their new location which will be much larger. read more

Since the wait was so long, I asked if we could sit there and she said that is part of the wait list that you are on. Although she never say anyone. The server was super sweet and attentive. There is so much to enjoy about Chula's kitchen. Table side service, very open and airy atmosphere. Not too loud, and not interrupted by servers every five minutes. Went to Tula's on Sunday on Paseo Del Norte - a real disappointment. I had the Reuben with tater tots. The Reuben had very little meat, not even enough to cover the bread, seemed to be sitting around waiting for pickup because when it came to the table is was lukewarm, may as well have been cold, it was just plain unappetizing. Still absolutely love this place. I tried two different options over the last two weeks. The airline chicken and the blt chopped salad with steak. The sauce that came with the airline chicken is heavenly~ the chicken itself was cooked to perfection. And who doesn't love mashed potatoes???? As for the blt chopped salad. Visited Tula's kitchen for the first time and was completely wow'd by the decor and colors of the restaurant. Absolutely loved the interior and wish I took more photos of the decor and didn't... Fast forward to the food! It was awesome! I got a prime rib sandwich special paired with the Greek cucumber salad and my husband had a chopped salad. Both plates were delicious! The service was good as well although it took a few minutes to get a table. The table we were seated at was a booth and one of the things I didn't love was that the booths were very narrow. It felt very tight and perhaps we had a smaller booth than others but my long legs hit my husbands who sat across from me. Probably sounds silly but it's wasn't the most comfortable. Loved the heavy cutlery as silly as that sounds. And looking forward to trying other menu items. They have a full bar, plenty of parking and it was clean! read more

Prime rib was good except for the big chunk of gristle. the au jus was flavorful. the horseradish sauce was good on the side, but would have been too much on the sandwich. The tenders had a nice breading on them and were cooked perfectly. The tots could have been a little bit hotter temperature wise. Because we did split these, we got the piñon brownie with ice cream. The brownie was good but very rich but the ice cream tempered the richness. Even though we told our server we were splitting both, we had to ask for an extra plate. Our waters could have used a refill too but overall service was good as well as our food. Restrooms were clean. In the bar area the bus person was wearing gloves to clean the tables. The meal was good for what it was! It's an easy, comfortable place to get a meal with a group. Our waiter could have been more attentive but overall was a nice guy. Kind of a chain restaurant vibe. The food was good but not great. the Reuben was SUPER salty. The feta dip could have been better, and the prime rib was super rare. I think that's the standard way it comes but my dad did need to send it back to be cooked more-- they were super nice about that and instead of just cooking his already bitten into piece, they brought him a whole new one. Tula's was pretty busy when we rolled jn at 1pm. That's usually a good sign. We had a 15 minute wait to be seated. The restaurant is nice sized with the dining area to one side and a bar. It has a warm, modern vibe to it. It's a small menu with a decent variety of fare from soups, salads, sandwiches and a few plates. Not super pricey but not cheap either. The service was fine. Our server did a reasonable job. So then the food.... What a mixed bag. The soups were amazing. Both, the tomato bisque and the green chile stew were hearty and tasty. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, one child loved it and the other would have liked a stronger flavored cheese. Sadly the entrees my wife and i ordered both had issues. The chicken scallopini was very tasty but needed more sauce as it was dry. The airline chicken breast was overcooked and not that flavorful. The accompanying mashed potatoes were killer. If the entrees were cheaper or better, it would have been an easy 4 stars but i had to dock it for that reason. I would not, not recommend it but we just didn't have a great experience. read more

Tried Tula recently for an afternoon lunch and felt like it was just okay overall. The space is beautiful and the vibe is definitely nice for a relaxed meal, but the food didn't totally live up to the hype for me. Some dishes were solid, but others were just kind of average, especially for the price point. Service was friendly but a little slow -- not a huge deal, but noticeable. I really wanted to love this place, and while I had an enjoyable lunch, I'm not sure I'd rush back. Maybe it was an off day, but for the cost, I was hoping for a little more wow factor.
