I got it with over easy eggs. I am super picky when it comes to adobo fried rice because not many places can execute it well - their fried rice is even better than Elena's! Way more flavor. Came with our neighbors, 7 of us total. It was our first time here. It's an ok location, though not much to look at in terms of a restaurant. The menu looked really good and we were all excited. Reality, meals came out via a very nice waitress, but just weren't that good. My meal was completely forgotten so when I went to ask about it, they put it in. One of the staff brought me a little treat (Biscuits in some type of a sweet sauce) it was very good and an extremely nice gesture. I've come here on 2 different occasions both with very different experiences. And I'm just going to make a general observation based on what I've seen. This place has amazing comfort food, there's no doubt about that. My favorite is their white gravy that they pour all over their Countryside Steak and Loco Moco dishes. I will drive all the way from Kailua to Waianae for this! Their fried rice is also good, one of the better ones I've had on island. It's on the sweet/savory side, so if you don't like your fried rice like that, then opt for their other sides. And those Lilikoi Biscuits are so yummy too! As for the service (which is why I gave it 4 stars) it's not consistent. When they're slow, they're great, with personable customized service. But when they're pumping, it's chaotic and stressful watching it all go down. This time we went hiking up Pink Pillbox and then came to eat breakfast here around 9:30am. We assumed people would still be at church or sleeping in for Father's Day, but that wasn't the case. It was packed, every seat in the house was taken. Luckily our party of 8 got tables, we had to split up into 4-tops but we didn't mind. Our table ordered at the same time as our friends' table. We got our food within 20 minutes, but our friends' table never got their food until 1 hour later and we ordered almost the exact same things. Don't know if there was a mishap in the kitchen or the server forgot to punch it in. But this time it didn't look like any of the servers had designated stations or tables. We had 3-4 different girls waiting on our table, which was not a problem. But that 1 hour wait for our friends' omelettes and fried rice was a little scary. Anyways, there's about 10-12 stalls on the street side of the place, and more parking stalls in the back. I've never had problems with finding parking here. It had been over a decade since I moved away. Although I grew up on the Leeward side my life hardly ever took me out this way. Waking up my first morning back in da aina there was no way I'd dare entertain a "chain" coffee shop or drive-thru takeout place. This couldn't have been a more perfect choice. So much so that I returned 3 days later on my bday to bring my hubby and brother My best description of this place is the "Hukilau Cafe" from the movie "50 First Dates". The atmosphere gives you the feeling of the "local's best kept secret" but where everyone is told to go anyways! If it weren't for the fact that my family's and my time was short on island and we all have been away for a few years to catch up to other places to try in our short time this is definite place to return. We love Countryside! The staff is so nice. We came within the last hour they were open and we were seated immediately. Their trio of pancakes, French toast, & waffles is the perfect size for sharing. Drove quite a way from Aulani along the coast to this local cafe as it had good Yelp reviews. So I am adding my two cents worth for this local modest establishment. Entrees are Teri Chicken Kim Chee Fried Rice, Banana Macadamia Pancakes, Local Moke-O and Meat Lovers Scramble. Side of Garlic Fries (best I ever had). Wife claim the Local Moke-O is the best she ever had also. The Kim Chee Fried Rice was perfect as you can see each grain of rice and not clump together. Son enjoys the scramble and the DIL and granddaughter enjoy the pancakes. The waitress notices our wrist bands from the Aulani and appreciate we drove to taste their food. She told us she prepares the Character Breakfast and work at this cafe afterward as her second job. Nice hard-working lady! read more

Oh, my gosh, just had the best breakfast at Countryside Cafe!! I looked at their menu before going, so I already had in mind what I wanted (although it was hard to decide). Surprisingly, my husband asked if I wanted to split our two orders (he *never* wants to share), so I got the Countryside Steak that included chicken fried steak with sausage gravy, two eggs, potatoes, and the lilikoi biscuit and he got the "Walk Through the Country", which was a threesome that included the Banana Foster French Toast, Lilikoi Pancakes, and Strawberry Waffle. Both orders proved to be awesome! The country fried steak was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and the sausage gravy was mouthwatering. The potatoes were good, too, but I think I'd order rice next time to sop up all that delicious gravy. The eggs, which I ordered over easy, complemented the whole dish and the lilikoi biscuit was drool worthy! My husband's "Walk Through the Country" included the most delectable strawberry waffle; it was really crunchy on the outside, but oh, so tender on the inside. The strawberry compote that came with it was heavenly. The banana foster French toast and lilikoi pancakes were excellent, too, but didn't grab me the way the waffle did! The waitpersons checked on us multiple times to see if we needed anything else. They refilled our coffee cups when they were halfway down and were friendly. Most people ate at their outside tables, but it was a bit chilly (I know, how could it be chilly in Hawaii?!), so we opted for an inside table; hardly anyone inside, so it felt pretty safe. If you go, just be aware that there's no big sign telling you you're at the right place. It's on the corner and we wouldn't have known we were there if it wasn't for our GPS. There's a big sign for Staxx that you can see from the highway, but nothing that says Countryside Cafe! Really a great place for a meal and the prices were so, so fair for what they give you! I am disappointed about this location. The pic I posted has a hint of sourness. The corned beef specifically, but everything is good. I verified with the server if the taste usually sour since it is homemade. She said it should not be sour so I stop eating it. She also check the kitchen and they told her its new batch and nothing is wrong.she tried to help me and get her manager Kudos to the server which is very nice. However the manager refuse to talk to me and just told the server to take it off from the bill. I think it is good that they did not charge me with the food. But I am there to eat and was not offered for any other option. And I ask for the manager but she did not tried to talk to me. I could have given new food at least. So my one star is for the nice server or else I I would put zero if I could. My friends got the " walk to countryside " which looks good and the other friend got "garlic shrimp omelet". Normally I love this place the country fried steak is my favorite. But when I went recently I ordered a side of corned beef hash for $9.99 thinking it was the one in the can but it turned out to be fresh corned beef which is what the menu should state so people know exactly what they're getting. I let the waitress know and apologized I said I thought was the can corned beef hash she said she would talk to the cook and when she came back she said it wasn't the cooks mistake so they cannot take it off the bill but I can keep it and take it home, I asked if she could check with her manager and she said okay but they will only say the same thing. After checking with the manager she said they said the same. I've never been to a restaurant that had such horrible customer service on top of that they charged me regular price for a papaya bowl but ran out of papaya so it was just the fruits on a plate that would have been in the papaya bowl. Business must be really bad if they can't refund a simple mistake especially if the wording on the breakfast menu is not correct and adjust price if they are missing the papaya in the papaya bowl. Terrible experience will never eat there again. Plus it was so hot no breeze going thru and flys all over while we were eating. If I could give no stars I would!!! read more

Must try if you're on the west side as I totally recommend! The vibe is very local/homey! It's got both indoor and outdoor seating that lets you sit across the street from the beach. They give you the option to choose between fresh air or conditioned... The entrance is kind of confusing though because it's in the middle of the patio, but the service is good, so were sat immediately. The food ... BOMB! I tend to think of myself as a waffle-addict, knowing and loving all things waffles...and lemme just say this place did not disappoint! It was hot and crispy, and i enjoyed every bite of it! I also tried their west side omelet which I killed as well and my friend had one of the burgers... we didn't have any leftovers so that says a lot. I didn't take pictures of the juices we ordered (pog&oj) but we had 2 juices, a burger, a waffle with whip cream and Nutella, and an omelet and spent less than 50. Countryside Cafe is by far my favorite place to get breakfast. With a lot of choices for breakfast and lunch and for the price they offer, you can't go wrong coming here. All food here is made to order so all your food is coming out freshly made just for you. The staff here are really great and they check up on you quite often for water refills and if you're enjoying the food. I suppose the only downside is the drive for some people since it is kinda in Waianae but let me tell you the drive will be so worth it. I love to order the adobo Benedict. It consists of adobo on top two buttery English muffin topped with mini diced tomatoes and a poached egg on top each with hollandaise sauce. Such a beautiful creation isn't it? You also get a choice of rice, potatoes or pancakes to come with your order and their potatoes are really good and cooked perfectly I'd say. But if you don't like adobo on your Benedict they have other options you can choose from but let me tell you this you will certainly fall in love with their English muffin. My other half ordered the bradahs breakfast which is eggs cooked the way you want it, Portuguese sausage, bacon, spam and your choice of starch. We were also recommend to try their ube pancakes and I thank her because it really is a great addition to your entree. Overall, it's a great place to have breakfast, lunch or brunch. Not gonna lie the eggs were more than over easy and the dish was a little salty. But the flavors were all there and it didn't stop me from eerier it. I loved that the gravy was creamy and almost a little cheesy. The corn beef hash made in house and it's fatty and yummy. The pickled onions and bell peppers hit the spot. Simply WOW! First off, just gotta mention to take the first turn especially if your car is low to the ground because if you take the second turn you might scratch the bottom of your car like I did... My bf liked it the best out of the three cuz it was nice and crispy/crunchy. I also love strawberries so it was a nice pairing. Scrumptious! I love my carbs, but I also love my meats/proteins. For that I chose the Adobo Benedict and got the Country potatoes as my starch. Amazing, gotta try (thumbs up). Bf got the Corned Beef Hash Local Moke-o w/ fried rice as his choice of starch. We eat here all the time. Best place for breakfast or lunch on the West side. They used to have a Vegan restaurant attached, now its just part of their menu. We like to sit inside because I dont like flies when I eat. Sometimes it gets really busy so prepare yourself. They just renovated the parking lot so much better parking situation. Fried rice was flavorful, crab cakes were nice and crispy paired with hollandaise sauce.. but wait.. what's this?! A hard poached egg on top of the crab cakes? I was pretty bummed since I like my eggs benedict runny. We also had furikake garlic fries.. crinkle cut and very soft (fell apart when picking it up with my fork ) No crisp and not a lot of furikake, but at least the taste was okay. We looked at the food they have & it looks good, & it was on the same building as kalo bombs (best dessert). SERVICE: Very friendly staffs. They are the first person that makes how I feel about the place. I cant have a good time eating if the workers have an attitude like they dont wanna be serving you. PARKING:The parking is pretty small & gets packed very fast. But this place has a drive thru, Yes! A drive thru so i love that they have that. Helps so much if your just picking up. If you have a small car i suggest you enter on the side, we entered the parking on the main road side & i swear i thought our car was gonna break from a BIG POT HOLE. FOOD: The kids werent so hungry so we decided to just get the maili point special & im so glad we did. The food was just so good. The chicken wasnt dry at all (love that) usually other places the chicken is dry. But im a noodle girl & the noodles was yummy. My fiance & oldest are kalbi lovers & they thought it was juicy soft. The wipes were pitch black after rubbing them just where our arms/silver wear would rest. The service was spotty & our waitress never came back to check on us. I 100% will not be back.
