We had heard this place was good & tried to go to this place before and it was packed. We drove by this time and not too many cars in the parking lot! We had the fried chicken wrap & French dip. Both were very good. For sides we had the taters & broccoli - both good but the seasoning on the broccoli was a bit too salty. I had to dip the broccoli in the jus to remove a bit of the salty taste. I haven't loved the entrees here. The difference between a 4 and a 3 star is in the sides. Creamy Mac and cheese, crispy fried okra, seasoned fries, and some of the best broccoli I've ever had in a restaurant with a great seasoning that was cooked well. However, the meatloaf was quite dry and had way too many bell peppers in the meat. Could have used some extra glaze or sauce. The chicken fried steak was pretty cold and tasted reheated. And the all you can eat catfish on Fridays only gives you two small pieces, so you really don't get to eat your fill as it feels like an inconvenience on the staff if you ask for more catfish. 3 adults dinner. The restaurant has a good American menu.....but we came for the all-you-can-eat fish and shrimp for $14.95. This picture represents what happened in the FIRST serving. Our meal came to us piled high with shrimp, generous portion of fish, fries and hushpuppies. For our party, normally "healthy-portions" sends us back for seconds. We've dined here several times over the past year. Close to our home and it always feels comfortable here. For the most part we have really enjoyed everything we have tried. Grilled cheese brisket is really good and we haven't had a bad burger yet! Food is always fresh and hot. Service has always been great. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. We wanted to grab a bite before going to look at today's progress of our new home build and really wish we'd chosen McDonald' across the street. I ordered the grilled Ruben sandwich and my husband the Patty Melt. The bread was grilled with way too much grease. It did look good on the plate but when taking the first bite, the grease overpowered whatever was good about the corned beef. I'm a slaw lover so tried theirs--it was like soup. The flavor was ok but couldn't get past the thick white dressing. My husband's Tater Tots were also loaded with grease on the outside as well as the inside. We will not be back. Service keeps getting worse. Slowest lunch I think I have ever seen. They have specials on some days. You would think that would be the easiest to get in and out. I mean chicken tenders are pretty simple but to order and sit for over 30 minutes is unreal. This is why I rarely come here anymore. But I decided to see if they got better. Nope. Our first time to visit this establishment, first thing I see as I enter the door is the cook vaping in the kitchen -- not impressed! Love this restaurant!! We stopped in here 2 years ago and they left a good imprint to try them again. So, here we are!! As always, right on top of customer service as we was seated right away close to the salad bar- the salad bar is really good. Fresh veggies and hot soup. Today they have ham n'bean soup. Very good!! I chose the all-you-can- eat catfish, bone in- just as I love them!! Yummmmm the fish came out rather quickly and was cooked to perfection. Nice and hot. So we stop in here to get a good home meal only to get cold food. When we sent it back they asked us if we wanted it reheated or fresh and we both said fresh as any cook worth their grain of salt knows that you can't reheat fries, shrimp, or steak. Not even a minute later they bring back our same plates that they put in the microwave so guess what, yep rubbery food. Great fried fish and fried chicken tenders -- the chicken tenders are breaded in-house and not those crappy frozen things. French fries are good. Coleslaw has some good flavor; add pepper if that's your thing. The slaw is very finely chopped with a hint of horseradish. The fish is Alaskan pollock, for those of you wondering (not catfish). Very flavorful and fresh. The homemade breading is light and savory, not at all greasy. The shrimp used in the all-you-can-eat plates are little popcorn shrimp. Larger butterfly shrimp are available as their own entree. The tossed salad one of our table got was fresh and tasty. Personally I think the hushpuppies fall a little short. They're a bit dry and bland. Could be larger so they will cook more evenly, and some extra onion would be tasty. The all-you-can-eat fish+shrimp and fish+chicken plates are a bargain even if you only eat the first serving they bring you. You'll be stuffed, I promise. They come with tartar sauce, and then cocktail sauce if you get the shrimp, and honey mustard if you get the chicken. My husband and I were visiting the area because of The Lost Sea attraction and we wanted to stop in for lunch before driving two hours back to Gatlinburg. We popped in around 3pm on a Monday afternoon and the place had a few people that were probably locals. Our waitress was super sweet and very attentive. We got seated right away and our food was delicious. I ordered a Reuben sandwich with Mac N Cheese and my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger. He swears the Mac N Cheese was the best he's had-outside of our family's homemade recipe (and that's saying a lot for him). Super cute place and nice people. Given all the neighborhood chatter about this restaurant being under new ownership, combined with the line out the door the first night we tried to get in, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, this restaurant just didn't deliver. The staff was nice enough, but the food, burger and a steak, was just okay, rather bland and not very flavorful. In addition, the restaurant seating felt crowded, the ambiance outdated, and the overall facility in need of a deep cleaning. We stopped by recently for a late lunch/early dinner. Another restaurant we usually frequent was closed so we thought "let's go with a new one." Glad we did as we had a very good experience. We hadn't been there in years so we thought we'd give it a try. We were quickly met and seated and drink orders were fulfilled as were our meal orders and the actual meal. The service was decent. However, my companion and I both got fish, which comes with a salad. The lettuce was wilting and very dry and browning. When our fish was delivered, it was warm at best. I didn't see our server, or any server for that matter, for a good five minutes to request warmer food. Also, our unsweet tea was topped off with sweet tea; my companion is a diabetic and this can be detrimental. We gave it a try, and we won't go back. Please serve hot food. read more

It looks charming from the lot and had a cute little garden and chairs to sit outside while waiting for a table. They had 3 separate eating areas. We ordered a hamburger and order of onion rings. The rings were fine. The hamburger patty was thin and preformed like at a fast food restaurant but drier. The fries were cold so they tried to make it right and ordered some more. Those were not warm either. The service started off fine. Then 3 groups that came in after us received their food and we were still waiting. This was during Covid. We noticed that the cooks were not wearing masks. All servers were, but our server used it as a chin guard instead of over her nose and mouth. What a fun find! A friend of mine lives in this area and we had Sunday lunch here one day...it was delicious! Simple and yummy comfort food. I had butterfly shrimp with fries and THE FRIES ARE BATTERED. Why does no one do this anymore? Battered fries=best life. This place is right near the water, so I could see starting or ending a lake day here. The interior is so unassumingly simple and old school that it almost feels novel. It's worth a try!...
