I almost gave 3 stars because I ordered a Reuben sandwich and got home only to discover they had given me a club sandwich instead. Since it was my first visit, I had no idea what the Reuben would have been like, and there was no way I was driving all the way back. But honestly, that club sandwich was SO good! The bread was delicious, the bacon and other meats were amazing, and every bite was worth it. For $12, including chips, it was money well spent. I rarely eat out, so when I do, I want it to be worth the calories and this place definitely was. I guess I'll just have to come back someday and finally try that Reuben! read more

Dave and I were driving on the Foothills Parkway around dinner time. It's been really hard with our RV Fridge not working this entire trip. So we have been eating out and decided we would like something warming like soup! So I looked at my Yelp App and several places were closed. The Soup Kitchen was nice enough to serve us even though they were almost closed. I got a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup to go and Dave got the Chili. We also ordered two pieces of jalapeño corn bread too. I really didn't have time to look at the menu board when I saw they sell Beef Tamales. So we got two Tamales too. We ate in the RV and were able to heat everything up. Everything was very good, warm and satisfying. The corn bread had pieces of corn inside and chopped jalapeños. The Tamales were very good filled with ground beef, very different than the Cuban ones we get in Cape Coral. We appreciate how everything was packed up to go with plastic utensils and napkins. This is the perfect lunch spot for someone on the go. I love that they have a large variety of soups! They also have sandwiches and a salad bar. I love the location in Knoxville however I feel that this place has a little bit of work to do before it gets to be as good as the Knoxville one. I've had 2 good meals here and 2 under average meals here. The main reason why I had 2 under average experiences is because they made my grilled cheese on stale bread. I get that putting it on a flat top and browning it you would think it would cover it up, unfortunately the answer is no. Stale bread is stale bread, just don't use it and start w/ a fresh loaf. This specialty restaurant sounded appealing with their variety of soups. They only had a selection of four soups which I was disappointed. I had their chili soup which was pretty good and their grilled cheese sandwich was bland. The table/seating area seemed outdated and dirty. It wasn't very inviting. The staff were friendly but when asked their opinion how one of the soups they offered tasted, they hadn't tried it. Which tells me to stay away from it. read more

I too was excited to eat here when I heard about it. I disagree though about the staff. Our experience was good. The lady was helpful and friendly. I like basic GOOD home cooking. We had the chili and the potato leek, both very satisfying in amount and flavor. I had a grilled cheese and it was as good as mine at home (mine are the best). I am not into trendy deconstructed hipster foods, so that may be the difference. It was cold and rainy out, and we left feeling warm and satisfied. I believe they said this place opened in August. I went for the first time yesterday. I and several other groups of customers walked in right before closing time. Great food! And such a friendly staff! We had many questions about what to get and the ladies here answered them with lots of patience and smiles. I absolutely adored the pimento cheese sandwich. It's made with real shredded cheese, not that mushy processed stuff. It did cost 45 bucks for the four of us to eat lunch. So, prices are kinda high for sandwiches and soup. Couldn't wait for this place to open! I loved the old one, but on my first visit, I was very disappointed. Soup was "OK"....but the BIG TURN OFF....INSTANT TEA! What?! Visited here for the first time and let the staff know that as well. I didnt feel very welcomed here. They werent very friendly towards me at all. I was the only person in line. If a person tells you its their first time, most times they let you know specials or how things work but they just gave me a look like "okay what do you want"...i ordered the clam chowder which was very thin and had way more broth than potatoes and clams. It was new england style as far as it being white but wasnt rich and creamy like i was expecting. I got a basic grilled cheese with white bread, a drink, a bowl of soup, a bag of chips and a slice of cake for about 12.50. What upset me the most was that some girl came in after me that they knew and they greeted her very nicely but then she asked to taste a soup. So i guess you can sample before you buy which would have been nice to know before I ordered a whole bowl of this mediocre clam chowder. I wont be coming back nor will i recommend this to my coworkers. One star for bad customer service and plus the soup wasnt anything to write home about, I mean you had one job, soup.
