I tried to do something nice for my cat, and made an appt for a lions cut, so she could be cool for the summer. Unfortunately, the groomer cut her whiskers off to 1/2". She has had a terrible time and is just feeling better after 8 days. She is afraid of her water dish and I have to get her to drink from a tablespoon. She is also afraid of her food bowl and I have had to change her diet to liquid treats mixed with water. She has always used a litter box but nothing in there for 7 days, she gets scared and runs away when i place her there. She did poop on my bed pillow tho. Unknown where she is peeing....... I am writing this review because no one mentioned that the whiskers were gone, or prepared me for how disoriented and anxious she would be. No one apologized. I called the vet and his opinion was that it was trauma from being shaved. This is not what anyone else says. And my kitty had a lions cut 2 years ago and there was no trauma. A cat needs their whiskers to navigate the world. It will be 2-3 months before they grow back. I miss my happy kitty! read more

When my husband and I moved to this area we almost immediately needed a vet for one of the two cats we had recently adopted. Lets just say we went elsewhere, and PAID for it. In searching out options that were more suitable to our needs, a friend recommended Countryside. We made appointments for wellness visits for each of the cats immediately....I should note, one of our two furry friends comes here more often then we would like, but he is an outdoor cat and we can't seem to keep him away from the coyotes, squirrels, chipmunks, moles, mice, birds and i'm certain ALL the other small animals that inhabit out neighborhood- that keep taking a teeny tiny bite (or in the case of that coyote- a big bite) out of him... so we visit- often... We have seen both Dr Keller's on our visits here and are quite happy with them. As I mentioned earlier, many of our visits tend to be of the unplanned variety and the staff is always willing and able to fit us in within hours of calling. We have not been asked for unnecessary tests/ xrays/ etc....the offices are very clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. They offer pet adoptions as well....I recommend them to all my friends in need of a vet...! read more

Very unprofessional in dealing with owners. They don't take responsibility from problems they cause to pets. Dr Bay doesn't return calls and Dr Keller doesn't respond to letters of unsatisfaction even after 2 attempts. They caused an infection from the IV in my dog that cost me $thiusands$. No compensation or care to this matter. DONT GO HERE if you love your pet!!! read more

This is the most unprofessional vet ever both. Staff and vets are very nasty never board your dog at country side they will lose your leashes and the dog food and your dogs will get sick I boarded my dogs twice the first time they had lost my dogs and there leashes took them almost and hour to find the dogs. They said that some mix up happened both dogs came back sick I called them as soon as I realized they were sick answer to me was need to make an appointment what I brought you two healthy dogs and now both sick after a two day stay you need to take care of them now so I did get them to give me meds for whatever illness they had at the time. A few months later i had a family emergency I had no choice I boarded the dogs again this time i brought food picked up pups two days later which was a Friday the younger dog started to show illness Saturday called no one was there the emergency vet was closed due to covId staff shortages had to wait till Monday morning. So I load my pup up in the car Monday morning rush to country side to have the receptionist tell me it's not an emergency clinic I need to schedule an appointment and I need to take my dog that was there to the emergency vet. As I carried my 70 pound dog out of there one of the other receptionist chimes in and tells me I can leave the dog for a $150 charge so when the vet has time they can look at it. Took my dog to the emergency clinic she was severely dehydrated and had gotten some bacterial infection from being boarded at country side they kept my dog for 24 hours on an iv drip $2300 later my pup survived no thanks to country side Then the vet finally decided to call us and tell us how is it possible for us to spend so much money at the emergency clinic and said that his staff never told me to leave and preceded to call me and my wife liars. Horrible experience. I was seeking to shift to a Vet (Internal Medicine) who has some background in Oncology and Cardiology since my cat has an aggressive form of cancer and severe heart disease and is under the care of a Cardiologist and Oncologist (in Boston). This would allow me to have a local vet who understands my cat's situation(s) and can provide him with general care he may need as he moves through his protocol. Unfortunately, this was not well received by Dr. Bay, who entered the exam room (not even introducing himself or without any greeting), stating (in an extremely condescending manner) "I am trying to figure out why you are here." This, after I spent over a half an hour answering questions from his nurse about my cat and after sending over all of my cat's records to their practice before my appointment. It was evident that his ego got in the way of his bedside manner since he made it clear to me he does not want to serve as the "middle man." When I made the appointment, the receptionist asked me: "You do know Dr. Bay is not an Oncologist, right?" and "You can see him, but your cat won't begin treatment the same day." Dr. Bay's reaction when I told him what the reception stated to me on the phone was that everyone is having a hard time finding quality help, "even McDonald's." The fact he is not an Oncologist was stated AGAIN by his nurse during my visit today. So, I am unclear as to why Dr. Bay was dumbfounded as to why I wanted him to serve as my cat's general vet, offering insight on his health in the context of his cancer and cardiac diagnosis since he has some background in those two fields and why I wanted my cat to remain with his Oncologist for his treatments. DO NOT GO HERE. We were referred here as a specialist - this was not our regular vet. Our dog DIED because of gross negligence from the owner of this facility. The owner Dr. Bay withheld critical lab results for FIVE days from other vets including the veterinary hospital. The other vets said that it was a clear case of gross negligence and malpractice. Our dog suffered unnecessarily because of the incompetence and lack of care. Our dog was the center of our lives and we lost her too soon because of the sheer lack of care and professionalism from Dr. Bay. We called the line numerous times icnluding the emergency line and absolutely no response. read more

A few years ago I took my ferret here and received great care. Dr Keller is knowledgeable and honest, plus the staff is friendly and caring. A little pricy, but worthwhile. My ferret had insulinoma and we were able to extend her life for over half a year before the quality of life become too little. They helped me put down the first animal I've ever had to make that decision for - with deference and respect. I would recommend Dr. Keller to anyone with small animals! read more

Since Countryside has turned off the review function on Facebook, I will leave another well deserved one star review here. While I have been bringing my animals to this vet for close to 10 years now, I am thoroughly disappointed in the treatment my senior dog has received there recently. Bear with me, this is a long one. My dog has recently (a month ago) been diagnosed with diabetes. In order to determine a proper insulin dose, he had to stay there overnight for observation and so they could test his blood and administer insulin. I had dropped him off and two days later my family went to pick him up. He was covered in dried urine and scared out of his mind. He had been drinking a lot at home, which is a symptom of diabetes. It was apparent that he hadn't been taken outside for long periods of time, despite them knowing about his increased thirst. You would think that as he's supposed to be there for "observation" that he would have been...observed. And perhaps they could have made an effort to clean him up a bit, as they offer a grooming service there as well. They also failed to return the blanket I left with him and the left over food I left with him. Stay number two lasted SIX DAYS. While I was away on vacation this past week, my family was with my dog. He had a bout of vomiting and wasn't eating or drinking, so they took him to the vet. Apparently, he was very dehydrated and his blood glucose level was over 700, so it needed to be brought down slowly. I had received a phone call from Dr. Keller while I was away and whether he meant it or not, I felt like he was accusing us of letting him get that way. While they made an effort to keep us informed while my dog was there, I felt like getting his level down was taking an insanely long time. They also failed to provide any specifics as far as what his blood glucose level was currently at in comparison to what it was when he arrived. Six days, over $1200 later, yesterday, my dog could finally come home. I was at work, so couldn't pick him up myself, so my mom went to pick him up. Again, they sent him home without the things he was dropped off with. Only this time it was his medications, including his insulin. With the current snow storm, we were unable to travel back to the office to get his meds, so my mom messaged the office on Facebook (office was closed). This is where the intelligence level really shines. My mom explained to them what happened and gave the dog's name. The person who handles the Facebook account proceeded to call my dog by the wrong name (even though it was written RIGHT THERE in front of them in the message) and told her the office was closed due to snow (side note: but who is there taking care of the overnight patients???) but they would call in the local (people) pharmacy to authorize us to pick up insulin for him there. They left a message at the pharmacy with the wrong name so it wasn't until this afternoon that the pharmacy authorized the insulin. As I write this, he has been forced to miss two doses of insulin. Long story short here: communication there sucks, I feel sorry for the animals that have to stay there overnight (and they offer boarding!!) because are they really being watched/taken care of?, and lastly, don't trust them. We will not be bringing my dog or any other animals back to this vet, and I encourage those who have made it through to the end of this review to seriously consider another option. read more

We were visiting Lake George after my dog had surgery. We were hoping to be able to wait to get her stitches removed when we returned home, but they were driving her crazy. I called Countryside to see if someone was available that day to take out her stitches. Not only did they squeeze me in, but also they did not charge me! The office looked brand new and the people who worked there were so nice. If you need a vet, definitely check them out! read more

From emergency care to routine vaccinations they're my go-to place. We started seeing both Dr Kellers ( they're a great husband and wife team!) when they were fairly new to the area. Now, more than 10 years later I can't think of a reason to take my pets anywhere else. read more

We took our dog here before for short notice shots for boarding when we couldn't get her into Glens Falls Animal Hospital and didn't have a problem so I figured we could try them out for nail clipping too...well steer clear of this office!! I told the receptionist that sometimes my dog is difficult to trim ( not biting or mean but just pulls her paws away and wiggles around) I know because I've done it at home. Well she said oh don't worry I'll sit on her if I have to...thinking she was joking I laughed. Well 20 minutes later, my dog came limping out, her back had welts and you could tell she wasn't doing too well. I couldn't believe how crappy she looked, she was terrified and not to mention her nails were barely clipped. On top of this I got hit with a $30 bill!!! $30 to hurt my dog, do a crappy job, and terrify the crap out of her! Needless to say I will never bring her there again!! Also I'll mention it in case the owner of the office happens along this review, your staff upfront are completely unprofessional! Always on their phones when there's tons of customers in the lobby waiting to check in. You should really tell them texting and Facebook is a big no-no! read more

Over charged, and not great care!!! GO somewhere else!! A week later our other dog ate a piece of clothing, this experience was awful. They told us we had to keep him till he went to the bathroom, we did not want him staying over night there, our dogs sleep in bed with us, he was not under sedation, the first night we picked him up, and brought him back in the am, the second day we called at 1 pm, and told them we would be picking our dog up at 5 pm, when they close. They said they would call us back, in a few hours with an update. They never did. At 430 we called, and told them we were coming to get him, and were told that the doctors had left, and we could not come get hi, no one is even their at night, we did not want our dog there, scared in a cage. We do not put our dogs in cages. When we picked him up the next morning, obviously quite angry, we were charged $800 dollars, and the piece of cloth still had not come out.$200 of it, was from the overnight stay. We got are records and made an appointment with a new vet. When our dog came home, he was flea ridden, which none of 4 dogs had fleas prior to that day, we had a major flea issue for two weeks after this. That is speculation, but it just seems the events go together. He also drank water for about 45 minutes, and was panting for first 6 hours he was home, which leads us to believe that it is not air conditioned, we put AC's in our in May, due to our dogs hating the heat. They were once again unbelievable rude about the situation. That was it for us. We have heard good things about Pets Sake and will be going there. read more
