The lights display at the village is gorgeous and you can spend at least a full hour walking around and taking everything in. There was so much for the kids to get excited about -- train displays, igloos to run into, visits with santa, trucks to climb on, gift shops, hot cider donuts and hot cocoa. I could go on and on. My daughters (3.5 and 1.5) had a blast and I'd say this is really age appropriate for any kid. Just a few of the logistics -- parking is plentiful and someone is there directing cars. Once you arrive you'll be on the side with the Christmas trees and farm store. You'll take a tractor out to the lights display across the field. There are ample porta potties on both sides. The holiday village sells some treats but it's sweets only and no savory. Tickets sell out so I definitely recommend planning ahead. All in all this is absolutely worth a visit around the holidays. We'll probably make it a yearly thing.

Not sure what happened but being our first time there, not sure we'll be back. They overcharged a smidge for the tree too, my husband measured it to be 6 ft they said 7, I guess wouldn't have bothered us if the check out issue didn't occur. $90 for 7 foot. But the tree is gorgeous and holding up great. I recommend it for the selection and location. They have a small store and hot cocoa. They have some farm animals in the back too.

It is the gold standard, IMHO, as someone who has worked at farms and greenhouses over the course of decades, these are the people from whom I have sought counsel the most when. In New Jersey. Their plants are beautiful and healthy, and suited to local conditions because they are greenhosed on site by an expert horticulturist. The 'book learning' aspect of the son, Alan, is beautifully balanced by the depth and breadth of knowledge from Don himself, a local farmers with hands on experience and an ear to the ground, full of local lore. Excellent customer service to boot. If you're looking for substance and quality and knowledge, look no further! An extraordinary enterprise much appreciated by us dedicated fans.

So we googled and came across Wolgast. Here is how it works..... You arrive and park off the gravel road, cross the road on foot over to the giant field of trees. Once you choose one you can either opt to cut it down yourself with a hack saw or wave for an employee who will cut it down with a chainsaw. All trees are $45 from little baby ones to the 15 footers. We took a few laps around the field before making a selection. I bought the tree the weekend after thanksgiving and it's still going strong today. Beautiful. Happy to support a local farm as well.

Although it's December 1st, I felt like I was in a holiday time warp today. Why? Well, my family…read moreand I went out this afternoon to get a real tree. None of the places we've gone to in previous years (Sears parking lot, Main Street in Milltown, etc.) were set up. I know it was raining, and rain can deter tree shoppers, but Thanksgiving was late this year, so not only is it quite common for people to get their tree sometime during the holiday weekend, but Christmas is only about 3 weeks away -- so where were all the trees?!? We decided to drive around and see if we could find any place that was selling trees. We almost drove right past the sign for Harris Farm, but, boy oh boy, am I glad we didn't! What a great selection of super fresh trees! And despite the fact that it was cold and raining cats and dogs, the young men who greeted and helped us were warm and sunny. The tree prices are reasonable ($49) and actually less than what I thought a "farm tree" would cost. I still can't explain why there were no Christmas trees to be found the weekend after Thanksgiving, but this bizarre day led us to the farm we'll definitely go to for our tree from now on.

Honest and genuine people, they were so helpful to me when I came by in a pinch looking for some flowers/plants. They helped us out with choosing flowers and were very patient with us. They showed us a good variety to choose from & were very informative and transparent about everything, which I appreciated. The young man also helped carry out the large plants to my car and gave us some plastic to set it on. I will definitely be returning to this nursery whenever I need flowers or new plants.
