a bakery with a display of baked goods

Soft and chewy cookies, traditional and interesting flavours. A bit on the pricier side but kudos to them for donating some of it to do good in the world. Service was friendly and efficient. Location is in the Stakd Market so there's other stuff to see and it's pretty accessible. Stop by if the cookie mo ster in you needs a treat!

I was exploring the area and saw the sandwich board menu that showed the $5 cookie & coffee special. When I took a second to look around, I noticed the cheerful yellow table + chairs outside, the cute design of the sign, and the colourful display near the window. I was like wow, whoever created the design/decor here needs a raise! LOL. I was so happy to look at it and felt naturally drawn to go inside to order something. The person at the counter was very friendly and answered my questions about the chocolate chip cookie. I opted to order 1 of the chocolate chip cookies and an iced americano for the $5 special. The cookie blew my mind. It had crunchy edges, a soft / chewy centre, smooth melty chocolate and salt sprinkled on top. I love salt on top of cookies because it balances the flavours so well. I decided to eat the cookie and enjoy my drink outside while sitting on the cheerful yellow table and chair. I was just visiting from Vancouver and felt like this experience was one of the highlights of my whole trip :)

Overall I had a good experience and I appreciate that they strive to give back to the community continuously. My favorite flavor was reconnect which I thought was the most adventurous flavor cuz I wasn't really sure what was in it however the cookie dough was tasty and there was a lot of different things nuts and chocolates inside and it paired really well together My least favorite cookie was the mini egg cookie the dough of that cookie had no flavor at all it was bland and if there was no mini eggs in it there would be no point of this cookie LOL. The oatmeal cookie was good it was chewy and sweet. The feeling inside the red velvet cookie was super delicious! These cookies are a bit on the half baked side so I did put them in the oven because I like my cookies to be a little bit burnt on the edges they're also thick which I love as well.

I was a little skeptical as I couldn't tell the flavor profile at first glance, but biting into it, I realized it was a WHITE CHOCOLATE CANDY CANE COOKIE! So festive! Though white chocolate tends to be overwhelmingly sweet for me, this was not the case. Sweetness was actually perfect, balanced by a slight saltiness and subtle peppermint notes from the candy cane. I personally would have loved a chewier cookie base, but this was soft with a slightly crunchy edge.

Courage cookies made an appearance at the Culinary Market at the Festival of Trees. Their chocolate cookie was my favourite cookie from that entire event! This will be a weird analogy but it was like a perfectly rare steak. It had just the perfect amount of a crust to the cookie while the inside was chewy-soft. It had that lovely cookie dough taste and just the right amount of chocolate chips. It was the Goldilocks cookie!

But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

I love the little hole in the wall vibe and the modern look they've done with the space. The staff members were a little on the quiet side and a little tough to hear (and may not have fully understood me?) but were very kind and polite. The pastry selection, while maybe a little on the small side, is absolutely otherworldly in appearance. If I could have taken home one of everything, I absolutely might have. I ended up getting the creme brulee tart, pistachio croissant roll, and the tiramisu latte. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until I opened the box later that I got the one cocoa dusted matcha tart instead of the pistachio roll. Oh well, I'm not going to complain too much since, as I said, I was happy with literally anything I got. The creme brulee tart - 10/10 would recommend. Crunchy, flaky tart with creamy creme brulee hit all the right notes of layers of flavor and texture. Mmm, delicious. The matcha tart was decent though I may have been slightly bummed from not getting what I had been expecting. Regardless, another delicious treat, though definitely more on mellower side flavor-wise than the creme brulee. Still good but not quite what I was hoping for. The same went for the tiramisu latte. While I absolutely loved the presentation with the lady fingers on top, it did make it a little difficult to actually get in there and use them with the cup being so full before they got soggy and eventually disintegrated into the drink. The drink itself was OK but again pretty mild on both flavor and sweetness (and I definitely like things a little on the sweeter side). I feel like maybe a sweetened mascarpone whipped topping or something to really cap it off would have finished the look and maybe rounded out the drink a bit. Oh well, maybe next time. All in all, maybe not my go-to coffee shop in town, but definitely a great little place to stop in for a treat or two!

My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. You place your order at the counter and bring it to your table. Someone will come around to clear the dishes when you are done It is a great place to have a nice casual time eating and socializing. They make all their food in-house in the basement. There are products for sale such as coffee beans, fruit syrup, maple syrup, smoked sauces, olive oil, scented soap, wine glassware, etc. I will definitely come back again to try other items. There is free WiFi. The neo-bisto is not wheelchair accessible since there are stairs leading up to the entrance. There are two gender-neutral washrooms. There is free street parking on their one-way south-bound street. Review 2023-017

Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
