Fantastic service! Fantastic people! I called hoping to get my 2014 Nissan Versa in for a same-day set of new tires and whatever brake repair was needed. Tim answered the phone and did a great job taking care of me through the entire process! I was able to drop it off within an hour of calling and had it back not even 3 hours later! Tim let me know what did (and didn't) need replacing on my brakes and recommended some great all-weather tires that were on special. My car hasn't run this well in a long time, I'd highly recommend this service center to anyone! Hard to say too much about this business other than they are simply great. I called and asked for an appointment for an oil change. They said they could try to squeeze me in that day. I left the car and inquired about a failing tail light/turn signal, which they said they could look at. Few hours later, I get the car back with the tail light fixed (just something loose; no charge) and being charged the coupon price for the oil change despite not telling them I had the coupon. Used my name every time. Were super courteous (I guess that's the name). I even got a little popcorn to go for my two-year-old. They're just great. If you like where you take your car, by all means enjoy it, but if you are looking for someone in West Seattle, you'd be hard-pressed to beat the level of service at Courtesy Tire. I am always impressed with the front desk. It seems like no matter who answers the phone they know the vehicle, remember you, and then take the time to give you the scoop. They always complete the work in the time specified and seem very accurate in diagnoses. We had a truck in and were worried that we were going to have to spend a lot of money on repairs. They were honest that the truck had more problems than were worth fixing and gave us advice against spending the money. Not every shop would tell you that. We will keep going back. Call ahead of time. The word is apparently out. read more

Taking cars in for maintenance is usually right up there with going to the dentist. But the crew at Courtesy makes it a lot more pleasant. We've been taking various vehicles there for many years and unfailingly had good results and friendly service. Just took our Subaru in and dropped a bundle to fix a suspension problem. Got it back but there was still a minor problem. Took it back in and they found and fixed the remaining problem, no charge. Knowing you're dealing with honest folks who will make things right goes a long way to ease the the car repair blues. read more

So I went in to have my wife's leaking tire repaired. I told them it was one of the two rear tires - wasn't sure which, could they check them both. It was a Saturday and they were slammed so Mike told me it would be about two hours. No problem, to be expected on a weekend day. Mike called me just shy of two hours later and told me that they couldn't find a leak in either rear tire but they did pull a screw out of one of the front tires and repaired it. When I told him that while I appreciated his proactively fixing the front tire, I was sure that the tire that we saw leaking was the rear. Mike said they couldn't fix a problem that they couldn't find. Again, understandable and actually appreciated even if it was a little frustrating. When I went in to pick up the car Mike told me: "no charge for the repair of the front tire since that's not what you came in to have fixed. Just bring it back if/when the front starts losing air again and we'll fix and charge you for that one." Even though they couldn't fix the problem I was complaining about I felt that they treated me fairly and honestly. I was scrambling. With a move letter from my company putting me in San Diego the next week and no AC in the Accord I was out of time! I hit up a local mechanic with solid reviews on Yelp (he was slammed) and so he recommended Courtesy Tire. First they refilled the AC and it worked for like 5 min, they called me and said, hey bad news. Its probably the compressor but only the clutch, we will replace the clutch only on the compressor to save you some money. They pulled all of it out replaced the clutch, put it all back in and again it worked for like 5 min. Called me back a second time and let me know what happened. Returned the clutch, bought a new compressor and replaced the whole thing all over again and only charged me for the Clutch. And they did it in like 2 days. I mean these guys saved me like $500 bucks!! Not only are they super professional and informative talking you through all the issues on the phone, they are NICE!! I had the pleasure of dealing with Glenn and especially with Kelly. You guys are awesome. Thanks for the ICY AC in July! It was 110 degrees driving down through LA! read more

I bought tires here twice. The first experience was good but the second time has been very poor. I made sure to tell them I wanted the tire pressure at 28 psi as recommended by the tire company. The salesman said they recommend the car manufacturers specification of 26psi. I agreed to 26. When I picked the car up the tires were between 58 and 62 psi. This isn't a typo, they were really between 58 and 62. I called them and asked them how they could be so far off the specification. I took the car back and asked them to double check everything I paid for including balancing and alignment. I just had the tires rotated there and there tires were set at 33 in the back and 29 in the front. For some reason they can't find manufacturers recommendation on the door jamb, owners manual or web. When I bought the tires in the fall I had 20% brake life left. When I had the tires rotated just now I have 40% brake left. Somehow I gained brake lining in 6 months of driving. I want to buy local and support West Seattle, but it will never be here again. I cannot trust these guys. I tried twice but there won't be a third time. read more

I've been coming here for many years and decided I owed a review. Friendly, fast service is the norm here. Most occassions they are able to do the work and the fees have been reasonable. I've never felt "taken", and was even told "we'd love to sell you brakes, but you just dont need them yet!". On several occassions (like today) they've looked over my car and had to send me away (like to the dealer), and DIDN'T CHARGE ME A THING. Now that's what I call great customer service. I have nothing to say other than high praises for Tim, Kelly, Blaine and the crew of Courtesy Tire. I have taken many cars to them since 1986. For work ranging from tire repairs, new tires, tune-up's. buyer inspection and repairs from the simplest to significant repairs. I not only trust them to take care of my cars but the cars of my children. The only time I had problems with work on any of my cars was when I went to another company for brake work because it was close to my work (I have never seen a wheel glow red hot after a brake job before and never wish to again). I will never make that mistake again just for the convenience. I have never felt mislead or disappointed with Courtesy Tire. Telling them "Keep up the good work" would be a waste of breath only because that is already the part of their work ethic. So all I can truly say to them is Thank You. read more

I took my BMW in for overheating issues. I had replaced the thermostat 3 weeks earlier at a different shop, yet it was still overheating. Firestone claimed it was a faulty thermostat and charged me over $400 to fix the problem. The first shop's repair bill was only $250. After taking it to a mechanic, I learned that the cause of the overheating was a bad head gasket. I spent an additional $400 at Firestone for nothing. They fixed a symptom that had already been fixed once, without looking into the problem further. read more

I am writing this review because I am so surprised and hurt by my most recent experience with Courtesy Tire. I first moved a few blocks from the Junction a little over a year ago and this place was perfect because it was right within walking distance and had good reviews. Within a few months of going here, I had gotten a few oil changes and new tires with no problems. When my car began making some old-car noises, I took it in for a check up and they told me two things that could possibly be causing the noise. I opted to fix both (to the tune of almost $600) and the noise still persisted. They told me that's just what old cars do (yeah, yeah so I've heard) and I dismissed it, hoping I hadn't just been taken. The next time I went in for an oil change, my check engine light had just come on and I asked how much it would be for a diagnosis. The man at the front desk at the time told me they charge $169 for an engine diagnosis. $169...WHAT??? That's outrageous. Especially since I had already given this place almost $1500 in repairs and tires within 6 months of moving here. Needless to say I did not pay the fee and instead got an engine check at Pepboys. Sad to say that I probably will not go back now. Only giving two stars instead of one because (as other reviews have pointed out) they do have some exceptional customer service and are relatively quick. Good place to go if you're not worried about how much money you spend and want someone to smile at you. read more

I wish I could give them no stars........I had $3000 worth of service, new clutch and Cat converter......the exhaust to the cat converter was not bolted down properly and the bolts came loose on a road trip to SW. It ruined the trip.... They fixed the damage when I returned but changed me 150% of the MSRP for an oxygen sensor they had to replace. So they not only ruined my trip with their poor workshipmanship but overcharged me for a part. I had been going to them of routine service for years and had not had a problem but this has left such a bad taste in my mouth that i will never go there again. I can't imagine what they may a screwed up when they replaced the clutch.....I guess I will find out. read more

I've been taking my car here for 13 years. They do good work. They are a little more expensive but they are local and reliable. However, there are a few things to know. They are a bit slow to get you in. And they always start you with a much more expensive recommendation than you need. ($850 tires for my $750 truck?) You just have to know that going in, push back on their recommendations and do your own research to find out what you really need. Then you're OK. read more

I love this place!! Really. And who can say that about their mechanics??? I have been there on and off with my 2003 Mazda Protege 5 and each and every time they are kind, accommodating, and trustworthy (can you believe it?). Once I went there for a new headlight (the set up on these Mazdas make it impossible to replace your regular bulbs without midget hands). Not only did they help me install the bulb I brought in with me, but they did it for free even though it took the guy (sorry I don't remember his name!) a while and it was out in the parking lot where he had noticed I was struggling to do it myself and just came out to help because that's the kind of people that work here. Another time they simply fixed a bad connection on a brake light and told me the exhaust leak I thought i had (and was braced to spend major bucks on) was just a loose hose that they re-tightened! It was done before I got back to my house and cost only $35!! They could have really up-sold me but didn't and were honest. I will always bring my car here. I actually have an ongoing list of things my car needs and they always help me prioritize the items to what I can afford that visit. Courtesy Tire is the best! It's the only place in Seattle to go for an oil change or car maintenance! They are affordable and genuinely nice. I've taken my car here multiple times and have always had a great experience. Today, they were able to fit me in for a last minute drop-off appointment to get my oil changed. After thinking it would take a few hours, they had my car done in less than an hour, and they notified me that there was a hole in my tire that they offered to fix! Discovered a flat on my admittedly well-worn and overdue set of Goodyears on my Blazer yesterday, and Courtesy squeezed me in before closing time on a Saturday to get me hooked up with a great set of Bridgestones. Totally reasonable price (installed), great service (they gave me a compressed air tank to help me fill my tire enough to bring it in), and cool guys. I've had my fair share of automotive-service nightmares, but Courtesy lives up to their name. read more

Not once, but twice have I been screwed over by this place. The first time, I was headed on a winter road trip, so I stopped by for an oil change and to get my snow tires put on. When I stopped by after they never called to tell me my car was done, they had it sitting in the lot with the original tires on! The manager was very apologetic and got the tires changed right away...the "24-point" oil service I paid for was pathetic. They didn't fill the wiper fluid, so I ran out in the middle of no where on slushy muddy roads....safe! I thought I might have just had a bad experience, so I decided to give them another try. I took my other car in to have the battery terminals cleaned and the wire from the alternator replaced. They got it all done and I took it home. On my way home, the lights dimmed, radio quit and car died. I opened the hood and OBVIOUSLY saw they didn't plug the battery wire into the alternator, so I was running off pure battery. Even I could see that. Plugged it in and the car ran fine. NEVER AGAIN will I visit this place. read more
