My previous review of Courtesy Tire was after a visit to repair a screw in my tire. The careless employee who worked on it scratched the wheel and way over inflated the tire pressure. I was annoyed by the sloppy work and damage to my wheel. When bad luck struck again with another screw in the tire last week, I went back to Courtesy since they had an opening right away. I mentioned the wheel damage last time and said please be very careful. Kelly, the owner, remembered my previous review and was very apologetic about that experience and told me that employee has been let go. He really went out of his way to make up for it. Although the tire couldn't be patched due to the location of the screw, Kelly gave me the best possible price on a new tire that he could and didn't charge to mount and balance. He kept me updated on when the tire would arrive and got it done quickly once it was there. I get my oil changes here every time. Great pricing and I trust them to give it to me straight. They've done work on my Corolla and a old VW Golf I used to have that I had towed to them several times. They always are able to fit me in and get things done in a timely manner. read more

Most commercial mechanics always try to oversell you or claim all your fluids need to be flushed even if it's a brand new car. Kelly and the team have never tried to upsell me and have even told me I can wait on certain services to do them at the same time. I've only come in for oil changes and to get a battery replaced, but once I have a major service needed, I will definitely be coming to courtesy tires first. I would recommend getting an appointment first as they are usually busy, but I have also dropped off my car on a Friday morning to be on their "wait list" and my car has always been ready to go by the afternoon. I've been to Courtesy Tire twice lately - once for routine switch out of tires and rims, and again for an emergency today for a slow leak in my tire (which turned out to me a nail in my tire). The guys are polite, quick and efficient, and the shop and waiting room is nice and clean. They managed to fit me in this am for the leak/nail and had the tire fixed and me back out in a half an hour so I could get to work. Highly recommend!!! read more

Great customer service at a great price. Brought my girlfriends Honda CRV in for diagnosis last Monday because the steering wheel was vibrating badly at all speeds. Tim had his mechanics look it over and found that the front tires had the steel belts coming thru. As it is an all wheel drive car, all 4 tires needed to be replaced along with a front end alignment. We got a call an hour later explaining situation and by the end of the day all work was done at a great price. Tim even noticed that the spare tire had a nail in it and they patched it for free! I have been having service done here for about six years (oil chnge and lube), The first problem I had was when I took my "84 F 250 in with a stalling problem. They diagnosed the problem as the automatic choke and told me they didn't have a manual but connected it to the ignition. It lasted a couple of hours and the battery started to go dead. it was the end of the day and when I pulled back into their lot it died before I could get into a parking place. I threw the keys into the key drop with a note and walked home. They called me the next day and said they were able to find a manual and the automatic choke should have been connected to the alternator. Not their fault. Pay again. The next issue I had was when I had my "05 Vibe in for regular service and after driving it for a couple of days a huge vibrating sound occured under the hood. I pulled over and there was a pair of calipers lodged between my block and the fan that had been left in the engine compartment. When I took it back to them for the next service I returned the calipers and told them they were lucky it didn't do some major damage. The response was that calipers weren't necessary for my service. Must not be their fault. Last month I took my girlfriend's '03 Camry in because it failed the emissions test. They said $150 to ensure it gets passed (DEC requirement for expenditure and subsequent exception). OK. After that I go to get gas and the tank won't accept fuel. I called Courtesy and they told me there was nothing they did that could have caused the problem, but if you want to bring it in we will diagnose and fix it at the regular shop rate. I got it fixed elsewhere. The vent required in gas tanks, I guess to prevent spills in the event of a rollover had gotten shut, thereby not allowing fuel to be put in the tank. Was it Courtesy''s work that caused my problem? I don't really know. But anyone with any sense customer service and dealing with a regular customer would say bring it in and lets take a look, not we are always right and it will cost you again. What I do know is that these asshole's think they can do no wrong and I have painfully found out they can. They clearly do not stand behind their work and they will never see my sorry ass again. I've been bringing my car to Courtesy Tire for years and I have no complaints. Not only do they prioritize repairs when I ask them to so that I can fix things as I can afford them they are always very fast and friendly! I can't say enough about these guys! You may be able to get work done cheaper if you go to White Center or Burien but you definitely get what you pay for. At Courtesy they have a comfy showroom with popcorn and free WiFi but most importantly they are HONEST - something that can be hard to find these days. Plus it's in a great location being in the Junction. You can do some shopping or catch a bus downtown. Love it! read more

I have been coming to courtesy in West Seattle since I moved here14 years ago. I recommend them to everyone. All my friends bring their cars here and everyone I used to work with. Fantastic service, totally honest, even when the expense is huge. I have brought my Ford, Mercedes, and Volvos here. "The boys" as we call them are all so honest and they know what they are talking about. I have had transmission, exhaust systems, head gaskets, bushings and of course tires replaced by Courtesy. You would be crazy to go any where else. Alas, I am bummed.. If I could give these guys 6 stars I would. I've been in multiple times and each one was far and away better than what you'd expect from a tire company. I drive a 2006 Touareg, which is a pain in the ass to work on. But here are a few examples. 1) My mechanic told me brakes are about done (he does not specialize in breaks). I took it in, they told me I still had about 35% life in the pads. Have a nice day. 2) My tire was punctured. I took it in, they put on my spare, ordered the new one, gave the original manufacture hell, and worked out a nice discount. No charge to put on the spare. 3) When I did have my braked done (front an rear), got it back, they squeaked. Took it in, they upgraded to a more expensive 'something" (I'm not a car guy). No squeak. When the break started to shake the wheel, they had to upgrade another part (which would have cost me $150 to begin with), they charged me nothing and apologized for the inconvenience. These guys are like the Robin Hood of brake and tire repairs. If they say something needs to be done, I trust them knowing they're right, honest and fair. If I move from Seattle, I will probably miss them more then most of the friends I've met here! read more

So many people have trouble finding a good mechanic. Especially people like me with very little skill in the car department. Well this place is not just good, it's great. Kelly has taken such good care of me. My car is what you might call, an anomaly. A Honda Civic which is normally a dependable, solid car. Well my Jasper is clearly a diva with an attitude and loves his check engine light like fish like water. He has been in 10 times in 15 months. Most would say "why would you give 5 stars when the car is still not fixed". Well, it's called integrity, ownership and the best customer service I've ever received. My car has had many problems. Many Problems that have been resolved by this amazing establishment and for far less Benjamin's than expected. One problem has been nagging. Relentless to both Kelly and I. Kelly has been working tirelessly getting my car to be right. And am I paying each time? No. I paid to fix this nagging problem once. Every time Jasper hiccups with his damn light and damn evap vacuum issue, in he goes and Kelly works to make it right. No extra charge because he has integrity and pride. You cannot do better than these guys. My little sports car with the specialty wheels found a large pot hole on a dark, rainy night. We had it towed to Courtesy Tire that night, then went in the next morning to explain our problem. It turned out the wheel was bent and they couldn't fix it. But they let us take the tire to a wheel repair specialist to see if we could fix it. All this took a week or so while our car was taking up valuable space in their parking lot. It turned out the wheel was not repairable (thank you city of Seattle), so they kept the car in their safe keeping while we tracked down and ordered wheels (plural because we could not match the wheel that was ruined). When we got the bill after the new wheels were mounted with the old tires, we pleaded with them to let us pay more but they refused to take it. These guys are first class. read more

We took our 08 VW Beetle there to have the tires swap out to winter tires and an oil change. I called 2 other places to get the oil change quote. The VW dealer $75 + tax, Hans VW $57 out the door and Courtesy Tire $49 + tax. When we pick up the car, to swap 4 tires and an oil change cost us $165.19!! They charged us $70.15 (including tax) for the oil change! If I knew that is how much they are going to charge us, we will take it to the dealer instead! We will get a car wash and vacuum at the dealer for the oil change! By the way, we purchased those winter tires from them last season. They charge us over $90 each time we swap them out. They must be always busy because of lack of competition over there. Every time I call them, they trend to give me the vibe "we don't need your business because we are very busy and all booked!" Oh and please don't ask when your car will be done because we are too busy! We will call you when it is done! Go somewhere else if you don't like it! I think I am done with this place! read more

CT has handled not only anything revolving around tires but has done my mechanics or sent me to specialists and have always performed oil changes at an extremely reasonable price. CT is honest, and they work with the highest of integrity. They always give competitive and fair pricing quotes and take extraordinary pride in ownership. These guys are really hit and miss. I would trust them with tires, but each time I have taken my car there, they are desperate to "adjust" something under the hood even though I have reported no symptoms of a problem, and each time I get it back there is something much greater wrong with it. The last incident took me 6 months and nearly $2000 to un-do their fixes. Needless to say that was the last straw and I am not going back there. If you do take your vehicle to them - I suggest restricting them from doing anything more than an oil change under the hood. read more

They don't call it "Courtesy Tire" for nothing! My tire pressure light came on so I rushed right over. I was reassured and my tires were quickly examined.
