Everything we ordered, we could have made at home and made it better! Frozen items for cook to order was unimpressive. The shrimp were tiny and way over cooked, the chicken nuggets & fries were to! This is an establishment that's going to appeal to a certain clientele. The clientele isn't me. The spaghetti, for instance, I felt was sub par, but my husband liked it. I feel if a small county restaurant has a dessert, it should be homemade, not boxed (and poor quality). The salmon cakes weren't bad and neither were the beans. The hamburger steak tasted burnt and the macaroni and cheese and deviled eggs lacked seasoning and flavor. The raspberry vinaigrette for the salad was tasty. It's a place that the locals likely love but not a place for travelers stopping through looking for a gem. Great food and a local favorite. Known for their home cooking an good cheeseburgers its a great place for lunch. When I'm visiting my family we usually try to go for lunch when we are in the neighborhood. I've tried everything from club sandwiches to cheeseburgers to other sandwiches and it's all very good. The service is great an food always comes out quick. There are few tables as it's not a big place but we have never had problems finding a seat when we go. They also have homemade desserts. Good home cooking. Four of us were out riding our motorcycles and stopped here for lunch. The food is simple but very good. This is exactly what we were looking for - a good down home meal at a very reasonable price. If you are a fan of onion rings make sure to get them as a side. You won't go wrong. Mine and my wife's first time eating here. Bacon cheeseburger with fries for me and the special of the day, taco salad for her. Cozy seating of about 27 places with 5 of them up at the diner style bar. Place is clean and what I am guessing is the husband/owner at front of house. He's a constant state of movement as the only front person, orders and cleaning at a steady pace. The bacon cheeseburger is all kinds of good. It's not a gourmet burger, but I don't think you're going to get that style of food here. What it was though is the kind of burger you wish you could make at home, good sized patty with fresh, crisp veg, quality bacon and real cheese. The fries are out of a bag but that doesn't hurt my feelings because they are crisp, hot, fresh, and the oil is clearly clean. Down home food that is worthy of a definite stop and eat. It was really good. The taco salad was like a plate of nachos, with ground taco meat, cheese, big slices of tomato, sour cream, salsa, fresh and crisp lettuce, and jalapeños. We stopped for dinner Friday night. The waitress did not bring our drinks until another food order came up even though the entire dining room is not more that 5-10 steps from the open counter. The food was dry and overcooked. I knew we were in trouble when I saw the cook microwaving the french fries. There were three older gentlemen loudly debating politics with another man and using ignorant racist language that I have not heard used since the 1950's. I am not sure if my digestive issues today are from the food or the patrons. Beware! read more
