Wished we lived closer to this place and was not just visiting for the weekend! Everything about this place from the ambience, weight, staff, and food was perfection! Our waitress, I believe her name was Emily, was so sweet and very helpful when it came to deciding what to order. She was very personable, and we chatted with her about all kinds of things whenever she'd come by the table. This place had comfortable booths, and a lovely bar. They have a great happy hour menu, which we ordered from. Do not miss the truffle popcorn. I am still dreaming of this! Truffle oil and parmesan cheese on perfectly poppers and salted popcorn. We also had the hot honey and Parmesan chicken wings which were crisp and delicious, and a harvest salad. So good. We would be here all the time if we lived close. Bentleys is so good! I grabbed a burger and fries when we visited and they were both solidly good. Portion sizes aren't massive for the price you pay, but the quality is definitely there! I'll spare you the suspense... this was THE best meal I had while in Lynchburg. I started with glass of the Gran Familia Rioja tempranillo. Slighly tart and so juicy. I need to add this bottle to my home bar ASAP. The brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked: nice and crunchy with delightfully crispy skin, and drizzled with a sweet orange glaze. I sprinkled a little bit of salt on top, and the sweet/salty combination just took it over the top! The gnocchi was chewy and cheesy and oh-so good. Loved it! The smoked, dry rubbed wings were ever so slightly crispy on the outside, and perfectly cooked on the inside. I would have liked to taste a little more of that smoke flavor, but they were still good. The flourless chocolate torte... Unbelievable. Rich, but not heavy or overbearing. The chocolate was delightfully dark but not bitter. Just when I thought my meal couldn't get any better... This dessert was the perfect conclusion to an already divine dining experience. If "death by chocolate" tastes like this, well then I'm all ready to go. As delicious as the food was, the staff was even better. They were so welcoming-- smiles and all-- from the second I stepped in. They seemed genuinely happy to see me and I immediately felt comfortable. Emily was my server and in addition to being an absolute delight, she allowed me to enjoy my incredible meal in peace without checking in incessantly. Of everything I enjoyed about this dining experience, I think I enjoyed that most of all. Listen, I don't care what you're doing or what's on your agenda... We stopped by to enjoy their happy hour. I ordered a cosmopolitan and my husband ordered a manhattan. You can't beat the $6.50 price! Brian did a great job making drinks! We found all of the staff to be really friendly and welcoming. We tried the truffle popcorn which is part of happy hour and it was amazing! Brian and the other staff gave us some great recommendations of what to do in Lynchburg and we made dinner reservations based on their suggestion and they were spot on! On May 11th, my family and I visited Bentleys on Bedford Avenue to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, we chose the wrong restaurant for the occasion. When we arrived at 5:30 PM, the restaurant was relatively empty aside from a few people sitting at the bar. Before we had even looked over the menu, my family casually asked if there was a kids menu available. From behind the bar, a staff member loudly yelled, "There's no kids menu!!" Ironically, once we actually looked at the menu, the kids items were listed at the bottom. While looking over the menu, we also noticed a $3 PER PERSON charge for any OUTSIDE dessert brought in. Honestly, that seemed a little excessive. We also saw that gratuity is automatically added for larger parties, which we completely understood and had no issue with. Unfortunately, once our food arrived, several items were messed up. The Brussels sprouts, which sounded amazing on the menu, were undercooked, and the she crab soup had an unusually tart taste. Drinks sat empty for long periods of time, even after we asked for refills. At one point, members of our party had to go find staff themselves just to request another refill, only to be told, "we got busy." There was very little follow-up regarding how the meals were or whether anything needed to be corrected. If a plate sits relatively untouched by the end of the meal, wouldn't you ask if something was wrong with it? When our checks arrived, the automatic gratuity had not been added. We politely pointed this out to the server, she was very apologetic. She spoke with her manager and then returned, explaining that the manager told her to collect all cards and cash first, then bring back updated receipts with gratuity included. Because of this process, we never actually saw the finalized totals before payment was taken. We had a general idea of what our bills should have been, but not being shown the final amount beforehand seemed unprofessional. At that point, we honestly just wanted to pay and leave. Tonight was my second visit to Bentley's, and the experience was great. Firstly, the service was wonderful, and the waitress was super attentive and friendly. On both visits, I've ordered the She Crab Soup to start, and on both visits, it was a perfect 5 Stars! The sherry they bring to the table to top it with just adds the perfect touch every time! Tonight, I had the smoked turkey breast melt, which came on a warm baguette topped with onion, lettuce, cheddar, and BBQ sauce and was served with fries. While my entree was good, the truffled mushroom risotto I had on my previous visit was better. I also was able to sample the blueberry crème brûlée, which was their limited-time dessert, and I honestly loved the blueberry flavor. read more

My mom , niece and I came here for a late lunch. I' loved that their lunch specials went to 4pm. This also overlapped with their happy hour. I was pleased! The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived. We were seated immediately by the waiter. Despite it not being busy , service was kind of slow to me. Other than this I have no other complaints. We all ordered something different. I ordered from the lunch menu - 5 dry rub smoked wings , fries and a drink included for $13. My mom had the chicken bites from the lunch menu as well and my niece ordered a corn dog and fries from the kids menu. Food portions were generous and the food was really good. Bentleys is decorated nicely and spacious, with a patio as well. There's a bar with a casual atmosphere. Their happy hour and lunch specials are definitely worth checking out! My friends and I came for happy hour on a Friday and had a great time! The patio is super cozy in the winter. The cocktails were $6.50 which is a steal and they were decent cocktails. We tried the margarita, Cosmo and bourbon manhattan. I'd choose the Cosmo over the Margarita if you're in between. The server was very nice and gave us space to just enjoy our drinks. Went in for a Sunday lunch/brunch. We were greeted immediately and asked to sit anywhere we wanted. The seating setup was the same as it was when it was the previous restaurant. Big screen TV's were over the bar. We were given a regular menu as well as a brunch menu. I chose the Bentley Burger and my wife got the chicken wings and waffle. I was asked if I wanted my burger pink in the middle or well done. I chose pink and it came that way. Looked very pink but the juices were clear. Wow! Just about the best burger I've had in quite awhile. Excellent flavor! My wife really enjoy her chicken and waffles. read more

I have to admit I made Schweety take me here so I could be first to review as I've been anxiously awaiting the opening! On day 5 of opening, they are rolling out Happy Hour beverage specials with food specials to come in the near future! On this visit we only had a couple of draft beers and the fried oysters but the entire menu looks great. The oysters were fantastic! In search of the perfect burger we landed on Bentley's. We arrived late in Sunday night, it was very quiet, just a couple of tables watching the local football games, it was perfect for a quick dinner. We sat in the inside/outside area when you first enter, I really liked that it felt so private. Service was great, he came right over and was very friendly. We both ordered the burgers with Caesar salads, no up charge for the salad which is also a plus. For apps we got both the wings and potato pierogies. I love a good homemade savory pierogia and dessert was the only homemade option on the menu crème brûlée. The wings were excellent, a little spicy and crispy. The were cooked and prepared perfectly. The burgers were fantastic definitely one of the best I've had so far in Lynchburg. If I'm being really picky, the Caesar salad was attached dry and could use some homemade croutons or something but it was fine. The crème brûlée was creamy and the portion was nice, but it could've used more sugar on the top. This is me being extremely critical because overall the meal was solid. We will return! read more

We enjoyed it! Food was great! I had the Pan Seared Salmon and it was wonderful! Everything about it! I had leftovers because I filled up on the Fresh Fried Okra, but unfortunately, in our haste to get to the next event, I left it behind. I am so bummed because I wanted to have it for lunch today. I'll have to go back and order it again! My husband had the Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich. He said it was very good, but he was not a fan of the chopped giardiniera.
