I genuinely cannot believe this hotel is willing to rent rooms in this condition. There is an extreme heat wave happening, yet when I walked into my room, the air conditioner had been left on heat and set to 78°F. Instead of getting relief from the heat outside, I opened the door to what felt like an oven. The bed was equally disturbing. The mattress had so many strange lumps and raised areas that it looked like there were gremlins--or worse, insects--hiding beneath the mattress. Whether that's actually the case or not, it certainly didn't inspire confidence or make me feel comfortable sleeping there. The bathroom was just as bad. The bathtub had a long black streak running down it that made it appear dirty and poorly maintained. Behind the toilet, there was a large section of drywall missing, leaving a huge open gap into the wall. It was unsettling and gave the room an uncomfortable, almost voyeuristic feeling, as if someone could look through from the other side. To top it all off, the HVAC air filters were absolutely caked with thick gray fuzz and dust. They looked like they hadn't been cleaned or replaced in ages, which is both disgusting and concerning for anyone with allergies or respiratory issues. This wasn't just a disappointing stay--it was an unsanitary, poorly maintained room that should never have been rented to a guest. Basic cleanliness and maintenance appear to have been completely ignored. I would not stay here again, nor could I recommend this hotel to anyone expecting even minimal standards of comfort or hygiene. read more

Nice size parking lot and a cozy welcome feel when you enter the building. There is a lot of extras like big marshmallows for the hot chocolate packets in the hall or the apple cider tea bags next to the hot water. It just a little extra. We were greeted kindly and given a room on the third floor. The pool and hot tub area was clean as well as the gym. The room was clean with fresh linens. Not a fan of this hotel. Came here to stay because I am flying out of Cleveland early morning. Walked into the room and instant smell of animal urine. A little outdated. Horrible water pressure and water temp in shower. Hair everywhere in the shower as if it wasn't cleaned. There must be an ac unit outside my window because it's very loud, bangs and runs every few minutes. Had another reservation here in few days and canceled it. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. I really enjoyed the restaurant. The breakfast sandwiches were really good and enjoyable. I will offer a tip. If you need to separate your restaurant charge from your room charge, you may have a problem. Do not charge the restaurant charge to your room then expect to separate when you check out. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. The assigned rooms were fine; clean and in generally good condition. (One exception: my room had sun-damaged sheer curtains on the bedroom windows. When trying to close them, their shredded condition became apparent). Had to hunt for the hair dryer; finally found in it the closet, hanging in an unmarked black bag. The mattress was medium-firm; pillows were the typical soft, fluffy hotel-type. Towels were the standard bath towels. There were enough sockets to accommodate multiple cords and chargers. Next to the check-in, they have an alcove where you can purchase sodas, beer, wine and snacks. I wanted to get a bottle of wine and some beers for the room and had chosen something from their limited wine selection. When I was about to pay, another staff member saw what I was about to get said she could offer me a better selection from the lobby bar (she was the bar manager). We walked over and indeed, a better selection awaited. I really appreciated her willingness to open the bar and offer more choices for wines a beers, plus she offered decent wine and beer glasses to accompany the beverages. She mentioned that she was available to help with anything we might additionally need. I didn't catch her name but she was very friendly and helpful. I wanted to call her out for going "above and beyond!" One major problem (which reduced the rating from 4 to 2 stars) we encountered was the "breakfast sandwich" (panini bread with scrambled egg and bacon) at the breakfast buffet. One of our party ordered it and started feeling its effects an hour or so after eating it. It did not make him violently ill, but he was pretty miserable and barely functioning for the next 24 hours. read more

My room was like a step back in time. No wall thermostat....just the rattling under window air conditioning. The genius room designer put the updated desk right in front of it. I'm sure the side of the desk was nice and cool, but the rest of the room was not and had the familiar humid feel. The lobby is updated, so maybe they are working their way up. Way too many hotels in the area to stay here again. Happy I used points and wasn't paying out of pocket. read more

I had a fairly good stay at the Courtyard by Marriott (North Olmsted, Ohio). One of the advantages of staying here at this particular hotel is that it is very close to the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), making it easier for folks to catch that early departure out of the airport. In addition, this hotel did manage to have the most important characteristics that I look for in a hotel: cleanliness, safety, and quietness. The staff here was also friendly and professional throughout my stay. This hotel provides some of the common necessities that most travelers require, including a nice bed, a good quality TV, a desk/office area, a good-working HVAC system, fairly comfortable chairs, a small refrigerator, and a small personal coffeemaker, as well as a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. My room also had a door to an adjacent room for some of their travelers that are traveling with more friends or relatives than their room can accommodate. Each room has a small ice bucket, and folks can refill this at one of the ice machines down the hall. This hotel also has a good-working elevator, as well as a coin-operated washer and dryer for travelers that need to clean their clothes. There's also a small pool and jacuzzi here. Although I had a fairly enjoyable stay here, I was a little annoyed that some of my common hotel expectations were not met. First, I just happened to forget that the Courtyard does not offer a free breakfast for their customers...what a bummer! I can't really fault the Courtyard for that, but I was rather disappointed that they don't provide free coffee in the lobby. Something as simple as a cup of coffee should be free for their guests, but this hotel requires their guests to purchase this in the lobby. I know lots of hotels that offer free coffee for their guests, and I believe it's a nice minimal standard to set. I was also rather annoyed that none of the movie channels worked on my hotel room TV during my stay. My TV worked just fine, but the movie channels were not accessible. My assumption is that this was a problem that was isolated to my room because the staff was unaware there was an issue when I reported it. Overall, I do believe this is a great place to stay for some of their guests, but this location just fell short of my expectations. I would consider coming here again, but I will most likely look for other options when I'm in the Cleveland area. read more

The courtyard at the Cleveland Airport is a bit outdated, except for the lobby. The rooms are dirty and a bit dark. The staff seems decent. They do have a shuttle service to the airport. There is also a little coffee bar in the lobby that services Starbucks coffee.certainly not one of my favorite hotels, but a decent hotel if you can overlook the dirty rooms. read more

Bf and I stayed overnight to rest up before continuing our road trip to his hometown. It's off the highway and the surrounding area has lots to eat and do. We were told we got an upgrade bc bf was a rewards member, but really we got the executive suite that we paid for. Thanks for the false hope, haha! Our room was clean and spacious. However, the walls are so paper thin, you can hear other guests cough and sneeze. Our room was facing the back of the hotel, so we didn't hear any traffic sounds from the highway. I did enjoy the extra Zzz after waking up later than usual to black out windows. I thought it was still around 6am until I realized how bright it was outside. It's not in downtown Cleveland, so there's a free parking lot. Free shuttle to airport and mall etc. No free breakfast, but the lounge serves food and snacks are for sale at front desk. Near the front desk, there's a printer where you can print your boarding pass if you're in a rush. The pool and jacuzzi looked cool with colored lights. We didn't bring our bathing suits to try them out. Overall, served its purpose. read more

Eh nothing special about this hotel. Wasn't impressed. It's a room and it serves it's purpose- to sleep and store your crap when you're traveling. We got a room that had a glass sliding door to the outside- that looked like a cool thing at first because it was easier access to go outside but the door wouldn't budge from inside so it was kinda useless and all it did was cause more cold air to come into the room. The bed was comfortable for the most part and the service was pretty good as far as cleanliness. My complaints were all about the bathroom though. One thing I thought was kinda gross was the shower had a dirty water ring around the drain. I had to look closely and it was actually the tub itself that was discolored from the water always hitting it- it wasn't necessarily "dirty" from dirt but more so like it was rusting away the tub portion. Just thought that was weird to not replace the tub and to keep it like that. But anyway- the other thing that I didn't like was the toilet and shower are in one room but the damn sink is in another room! Can't stand that. They should do some remodeling lol But again- overall the room served its purpose. read more

I'm all about customer service and this Courtyard has awesome staff! I travel for work frequently and know my way around a hotel. My room is always upgraded (perks of being platinum baby!). Some Courtyards also include a microwave in your room but this courtyard does not. However there's a microwave downstairs next to reception. I have a refrigerator in my room which helps because I practically live here Monday-Thursday. They have free shuttle service to and from Cleveland airport which rocks. And if you live local and want a cheap place to park your car they offer park n ride services for a fair price. The gym is tiny with 2 treadmills and 2 ellipticals and some free weights. They have a clean pool and hot tub. Food is expensive at their little cafe but you're within walking distance to all types of food options and the mall. Great location and friendly staff gives them 4 stars in my book. read more

Fantastic room with soft new bed and great couch. Modern artwork and pantry and Starbucks where you can order a real breakfast at the extended cafe. Not a bad value. And, they do sleep studies on site. Who knew you could do a sleep study in a hotel setting? read more

Stayed in room 226. Room was clean and updated. Bistro open until 10pm. Bathroom could be better - basically has a tub-fitter instead of a real shower/tub with real tile. Walls are thin - I can hear my neighbors as I type this. My big gripe is surrounding when I checked in. I checked in on the Marriott app -basically making it so I could walk in grab my keys and go to my room. My keys were not ready. Also,was handed my keys in a the paper key holder with the room number exposed, enabling the man next to me to see where i would be sleeping. With security measures under heightened scrutiny, you would think that they would be on their best behavior. I would return to this location again. read more

Room's AC wouldn't go below 66, which sucks because i get very warm while I sleep....on top of the fact that the little air that is coming out of the AC...and is hitting the desk directly in front of it. Very poor room planning. It honestly feels 75 in here. Called down to have it fixed and the woman they sent up said that all the rooms are set at a 66 MIN and there's nothing they could do. WTF is that. I know that it can be overridden because I've had it done at other hotels. Called down to front desk to let them know I was cancelling my 2nd night and they basically said ok. No "can we offer you a fan, etc". This place is crap, staying at the Hampton Inn tomorrow which is no bueno because I'm a Marriott rewards guy. UPDATE: After further inspection, the AC wasn't working because the removable filter was completely clogged with disgusting lint/dust/hair. Friendly staff and location near food (walking distance to two places, 5min drive to dozens more), also the worst hotel beds I've ever experienced. The pillows were probably borrowed from a motel 8 twenty years ago becausee they are terrible. The mattress itself is just bad, not completely terrible. The hotel seems clean. It has a good entrance, computers in the office center and a decent pool. That's where the good ends. The rooms are modern but the bed was saggy and had no support. It put me in the mind of a economy hotel with very old and used mattresses. The toilet was 2/3 standard height. There are no refrigerators in the room. Air conditioning would not work because the thermostat was installed right in front of blower. So it did not really read the temperature of the room. Miserable stay. read more

Courtyard Marriott North is situated in a very good location. It is near Great Northern mall, a Walmart, Red Robins, and a list of other restaurants. The Bistro bar was empty each day I went down stairs. It's a really quiet hotel if all you want to do is rest. No outside car noise, or police sirens. Front desk staff was friendly upon check and check out. Not much I can say was wrong with this hotel. Did I mention that it is super quiet? At one point, I thought I may have been the only person on the 3rd floor. That's how quiet this hotel is. read more

Crappiest Courtyard I've stayed at in a while. The toilet flushing made me think of all those horror stories you heard as a kid of sitting on the toilet in an airplane during take off or landing...that you're butt would get sucked into it and you'd be stuck and have to be evacuated off of it. It was a violent series of events when you had to flush. Not only did the put me by the damn EXIT door, yah I'm Platinum Elite don't do that, I could hear every flush and movement of everything within a 20 mile radius. The only saving grace that had I decided to tie one on at the steakhouse next door I could stumble back to my room, at least I wouldn't hear anything in my drunken stupor. read more

We chose this place as a last minute getaway for Sweetest Day. We purchased the spa king suite which has a jacuzzi in the room. Not bad for the price which was decent. I was a little disappointed in the room itself compared to the atmosphere when you initially enter the hotel, which is modernly updated. Breakfast isn't included with the stay and with the meals being overpriced and of low selection we got a chance to get outdoors at an earlier hour. We had a reservation and confirmation number for a double room to check in on 6/19/20 and check out on 6/21/20. We arrived at the hotel about 6:30pm after a long hot day at the softball field. At check in, we were informed that no double rooms were available and we would have to take a king room and a cot for 4 people. When I showed my confirmation for a double room and explained that we have 4 people, we were again told that is all that was available. So, it was up to me to decide who got to sleep on the floor. After discussing with my group we decided to make the long 2.5 hour drive back home so no one had to sleep on the floor. The next day, I called to speak to the General Manager (who was not in) and left her a message to give me a call as I wanted to make sure that I was not charged for the confirmed room I did not receive. It's been a week and still no call from the General Manager. The ability to pick up a phone and return a call has nothing to do with COVID-19 and there is no excuse for not calling me to assure me that I would not be charged for the hotels error. read more

My flight from the west coast was late getting into Cleveland. As a result, I was too tired to drive to my parents house which is over an hour away. I called the Marriott reservation number and spoke with Nicole. She booked me at this hotel and 10 minutes later I attempted to check in. I was told that the hotel was completely full and that there was no way that I could have a reservation. To make a long story short, at 2 am I was finally given a room. Not much to say about this hotel. It is one of the better Courtyard by Marriott hotels that I've been to, but nothing really special or eye popping about it. It is moderately priced and convenient to the airport as they do operate a shuttle. It is a block away from Great Northern Mall and a block away from the Walmart so you'll be close by to some shopping if you did forget something at home while you are travelling. read more
