After staying here for a while I want to comment that management is very responsive and very accommodating.

I've stayed here before and this time was not great at all. I checked in after 8pm and there was only one room left which was handi accessible. No problem until I got in and it smelled like smoke. The shower was handi accessible so water got everywhere when I showered and there was no soap in the shower. The bathroom area where the sink and mirror are was much smaller since it has to make room for handi. The worst part was the air conditioner that was SO loud it kept me up all night. The bed was very uncomfortable and hard and the lights outside were very bright despite me closing the blinds. Breakfast did not have a lot of healthy options for someone who also can't eat eggs. This stay was very out of the normal from my usual Marriott stays. Very disappointed and tired. read more

Unfortunately a mediocre experience at this courtyard which seems to be a hit or miss brand with Marriott. I try to remain loyal to Marriott as I travel a fair amount and they usually take great care of me. This time we arrived to a room where the bed was made but the sheets had that slept on look to them. Also the tv was down. It never worked throughout our entire stay. Apparently some important cable was cut to certain floors rendering no tv service. I was not a happy camper. Also the elevator was extremely slow. One car of 2 was out of order. So getting in and out of the hotel was a process. Staff was friendly, apologetic but also unhelpful. We wasted 75000 points on our stay there. Not happy. read more

The hotel, while it looked new, provided us with a ripped pull out couch in our King Suite. Additionally, the suite bathroom was in the bedroom rather than being a separate room which made it difficult for our daughter who was on the couch in the living room. The most glaring problem was that in the morning there was only paid coffee and tea. For $300 per night I cannot believe they cannot afford to provide coffee and tea. After you paid for your beverage the only choices were half and half and non fat milk. The hotel has five floors and one of the elevators didn't seem to be working which made for long waits. The only saving grace was that the staff was very nice. This is the second time we have stayed at a Marriot in the past month and had to pay for coffee so I'm guessing that is a new corporate policy. We won't be returning to Marriott. read more

Just got back home after staying here for a conference. I'm always torn with Courtyards because I almost always love the room and I always hate the fact that they don't have free coffee available and many (if not all) have a little bistro to order coffee and a very limited breakfast. So, as usual I though the room was nice and I was pleased with the fact that the water pressure was good. Room was clean and the cleaning ladies did a pretty good job (though they didn't refill the coffee creamer packs twice). Bed was a little soft, but the pillows were awesome. View was great...beautiful sunrise each morning. One really big negative for me was that there were zero USB ports for charging...luckily I brought the actual plugs. Breakfast bistro (not included in the room price) was decent too, but I still prefer more options. Also, there are some decent food locations nearby, but it's a little bit of a walk and most of them are chains Overall a pretty decent stay...I'd stay her again. read more

It is just the little things that separate the elite hotels from the others. Was in Phoenix for some training and stayed at this hotel. Booked everything online and it was a smooth transaction. Checking in was just as smooth. The lobby was clean and clear and the room was nice and well organized. They have a bar in the lobby with lots of comfortable lounge furniture. Would definitely consider staying here again. Stayed here for one night and it was well worth it. Check in was fast and easy. It helps when the check in crew is professional. Great job. Got into the room and it was very clean. Everything was perfect for a great night. In the lobby they had a bar area where you can order drinks and food. Also had a small area where you can grab snacks and drinks all through the night. The pool area was great with a pool and a big jacuzzi. Also had a small basketball court to shoot around. Over all a great night and would love to stay the weekend. read more

Checked in on Monday 8/6/2023, after going to the level 2 to get to my room I noticed a strong smell of weed, after getting settled in I walked back towards the elevator to go back down and the smell was stronger than before but I went about my business. As I came back from dinner the smell was even stronger so I called down to the front desk and the lady told me it is legal here for recreational use, so I asked if the hotel is non smoking? I'm giving two stars ONLY because I was given a refund and received an apology through email. Below is original one star review. Very upsetting front desk worker. She was incredibly condescending upon first introduction. I have her my card so she couldn't have spelled my name wrong, talked about days booked and what not. When she finally gave me a card, I open up to a room with a couple getting dressed. I go down and tell her what happened. She asks me "are you the browns daughter?" I never said that name, I never mentioned any parents or family, I was checking in ALONE, and my name could never be confused with the name brown... just leaves for five minutes without communicating anything?? Then she comes back and tells me that the couple is finally leaving and that I can go up now. I hadn't seen the couple come down yet so I asked if the sheets were even changed. (and the bathroom should be cleaned and reset and everything should be wiped down for COVID right???) She just continues to talk over me and tries to give me the room again but I repeat my question. And she looks me straight in my eyes and says "the couple told me they didn't use the bed" !!!!???? Is that a joke? I guess I don't deserve a clean room right? I didn't say anything I just looked at her with the most 'are you a real person talking to me right now eyes' and she finally said "I'll just get you another room" like are you kidding? That should have been obvious right? After reading a few other reviews about trash and stains I decided to look around. I found trash. And I found stains. I'm going to throw up. These stains ARE NOT easy to miss. I don't know how it was just left for guests like this. read more

This was your standard Marriott Courtyard, but holy crap, they put me in a room next to the stairs and with kids running up and down all night, it sounded like a herd of animals and kept me awake. Plus, the staff claimed to not understand that you don't put a single woman right next to the stairs and outside exit door on the first floor. Staff was not particularly helpful. My air conditioning unit was excessively loud, and kept me up the first night, so much so that even with earplugs, I couldn't drown out the noise. When I mentioned it to the front desk, he told me that it's normal for Arizona. I've stayed at this hotel before, and it's not normal for this hotel, let alone Arizona. It will be the last time I stay at this hotel when in town on business given the indifference they expressed in fixing the issue. read more

We have never stayed in this area and had no idea where to try. This place had a fair price and looked good online. It is in a good location not too far from the highway. It is also close to a lot of dining options. We did not have a lot of interaction with the staff, but when we did they were friendly and helpful. The lobby is updated with a lot of seating areas. They have a small cafe if you want food or even a drink at night. The room was average in size. The bed was comfortable. Everything was in good shape and the bathroom was fine. This is a solid choice for a hotel in the area. read more

Total stay was 3 nights. Had a reservation for a King. I'm a Marriott Gold Elite and requested a complimentary upgrade via Marriott App when reserving room online 1 week prior to check in. We arrived at hotel late at 8-9 pm Thanksgiving night. The King room was very small, no microwave or upgrade(requested 1 week prior), refrigerator barely chilled items and was smaller than a dorm model. Bed was horrible! Hard and big indent and body profile on my side. My wife's side was flat but within 6 inches of the wall making getting in and out too difficult for me. Returned to front desk following morning to request room change. Moved to 2 queens on 5 th floor and was told no additional charges. Room had much nicer bedding and amenities. Reviewing folio prior to check out noticed I was charged much more for the rooms and there were extra room charges I didn't make at the Bistro.!? Night auditor,thankfully, adjusted my rate and removed charge at Bistro/Starbucks I did not make. Other than uncomfortable first night we enjoyed the property. Nice location close to shopping, dining and highways. Our last visit we stayed at the adjoining Residence Inn and had a similar bed issue. I'm curious when this chain changes their mattresses since this has happened twice. Both visits required moving to new rooms. Moral of the story is check your bed before unpacking.!! read more

Had an amazing stay here at Courtyard Marriot. Skylar & Daniel and the tech support lady were awesome. Comfortable stay, definitely Marriott quality. Great deal too! (Dem Priceline deals) I would highly recommend staying here. The cost/value ratio isbreally excellent, although I was left wanting a few things (like a cont. Breakfast would have been MAGICAL), but overall, I can't complain. The pool was fantastic, the hot tub was nice and the shower was decent. Now for the dislikes...the TV was...kinda awful. Considering how affordable a good quality TV set is, I'm surprised they didn't upgrade this to a more acceptable level, but oh well. One thing I can definitely take away from the bad TV was the fact that I was able to focus on giving my Wife some much needed attention. So yeah, a lot to like here. The only other dislike were the random Roaches/Beetles/Grasshoppers/Crickets around the pool area, but given the area we were in, we can't possibly blame the Hotel for such a thing, so it's more of a dislike of the general Arizona nightlife. I stayed here with my husband for 8 nights while he was on a business trip. The place is very clean and the staff is super helpful and friendly. One of the times I needed to borrow a bottle opener and the front desk guy helped me out. A few times my room key card got deactivated and the staff was very helpful and did not judge me or act like I was annoying them by asking for assistance. Every day, housekeeping would come by and put the room back together and restocked our soaps. I took advantage of the hot tub and gym a few times which was wonderful. I really enjoyed this place as well as the location - walking distance from shops and restaurants. Good job, Marriot! read more

I'm the director for a $500M company and needed a place to stay while in town. I fly out here every month and stay about a week. I also have 16 reports who stay at the hotels as well. As a busy executive, I don't want any distractions. This was my very first time at the hotel. It was very clean, I liked the area (from what little I got to enjoy of it), and the staff seemed nice. When I had arrived at 3:00 am they told me I had no reservation. Explained that the woman gave me all the info a short time ago. he said "oh, if it's a woman it's the hotel next door". These hotels are sort of joined in a weird way. The woman there says nope.. nothing for you and didn't seem to care too much (in her defense she was cleaning the floor too). I was also wearing sweat pants and a wife beater shirt and often get judged for not looking like a million bucks. It's funny how people are different when I'm in my suits. So I say screw it and walk out. A minute later she taps on my car window and says the guy next door called and found my reservation. I head over there and get my room by 4:30 am now.. ugh I wake up to a zillion calls for work and need to extend the room for the week. I walk down and the guy says. Sorry. You have 5 min to check out. Lol awesome!!! So all my suits are in the car and now I'm kicked out in the same sweat pants and wife beater. FML. So now I'm sitting in the car waiting for my secretary to see if she can get me into courtyard Phoenix north where I have been satisfied with so far. Anyway the hotel is decent. Pillows are all hard. I prefer a mix so you can pick hard or soft pillows.. staff seems okay JUST make sure your reservation is emailed so you have proof and make sure your rate is locked in cuz he wanted to jump me from $150 a night to $280 for the rest of the week. Sorry Marriott - this rewards member didn't feel very rewarded. Great value but a few things could be improved. Hair dryer is a joke. Bring your own ladies. Tip is expected for room daily cleaning service. The food is really bad. Just don't eat there. Wines have been opened for ever so by the glass is not a good choice. I was under the weather otherwise would have never stayed here to eat/drink. Service is pretty good. read more

I've always enjoyed my stays at any Marriott hotel. Place was clean, and friendly staff. I had one bad experience but nothing the staff could've done to prevent it but definitely couldn't offered a better resolution than a "refund" or "points". I took none. I have a son who is special needs, my dad is in his elder years and took both my kiddos to the pool. They both had squirt guns and I guess my little one was shooting it at people outside the pool. While my dad kept walking back and forth he'd tell my son to stop squirting other people. One guest took it upon herself to take away my son squirt gun and hide it. A very ABUSIVE and wrong choice on her behalf because 1) you don't know the mental state of a child, and 2) because you simply don't take stuff away from someone if it does not belong to you. PERIOD! If it bothered her that much she could've said something to my dad about it or move away. Why go to the pool side if you don't want to get wet. There were plenty of seating areas by the pool where you wouldn't get wet. Anyway, my dad returned to the room sans squirt gun and told me who he suspected that had it. He's not confrontational so he didn't want to ask the ladies. I on the other hand am not going to take anyone being like that to my special needs child. I went down to the pool and found it. One of the ladies without me making any contact first told me "oh I took it because the kid kept getting us wet" I told her, you could've said something to my dad who was with him, and don't take stuff that doesn't belong to you" and I walked away. I went and complained to the front desk about it, because granted I know there's no prevention of such behavior but it should t be tolerated. If I wanted to go to the extreme I could've called the cops, you also just don't know what people are capable of doing in terms of starting a fight. While that would get someone kicked out of the hotel, I don't see why pretty much stealing from a child doesn't result in the same consequence. Because yes, taking something that doesn't belong to you without consent and hiding it is pretty much stealing. No matter the age of the person. My son came back to the room extremely upset and distraught. Something I as his mother had to deal with on top of him being somewhere that is out of his norm. A partial refund, or points don't make this better. I hope to see the Marriott do something better to protect its guests from predators like this lady. Specially for guests with a disability. My wife and I checked in on Easter afternoon for 1 night. We were in a King room on the 5th floor. We were very impressed with the customer service at check in, the recently renovated room and the overall cleanliness of the property. This is a renovated property which sometimes makes me laugh at some hotels use of the word "renovated" only to find a new shower curtain and carpet. This property was done right. The room is set up different than any other courtyard we have stayed, the bathtub was completely removed and replaced with a very large nice shower. We very much enjoyed our stay and can tell the property is managed well. read more

Stayed here because of a time share sales pitch hotel room deal. The hotel is clean. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Like the bistro/ bar in the lobby. The lobby/business center area is great if you need to work on your laptop and you're sharing your room with someone who wants to watch tv with the volume full blast. The prices per night are very reasonable compared to other Courtyard Marriotts in the Phoenix area. Because of the time share sales pitch we got a slightly better rate. It unlikely I'd stay here again because I have a timeshare, but if For some reason The time share we're booked up I would definitely consider this Courtyard Marriott first. read more

Two associates Hayden and Kat went far beyond to accommodate me in resolving a misunderstanding that I was dealing with. Very clean, quiet and new hotel. WiFi is complimentary (paid option for higher speed), but otherwise the free connection works just fine. Full bar, and food to order - both open at certain times. Breakfast and Starbucks reasonably priced (not a complimentary buffet). There's a ton of food and breakfast places to eat in the Norterra / Happy Valley area of N Phoenix anyway. Large workout room, outdoor pool and hot tub. I'll definitely stay at this Courtyard again. Probably one of the more comfortable hotels I've stayed with in a long time. Well done Marriott! read more

If you're familiar with the Marriott brand, then it doesn't get any better than this. This Courtyard, built in 2007, still looks brand new and shares a large, sparkling pool with the Residence Inn next door. We stayed here on our way to Prescott for its convenient location off of the I-17. Norterra and the Happy Valley Towne Center are a block north with every chain restaurant and big box store you can shake a stick at. Our room was quiet, clean and modern with a great shower (tile with glass doors). Wi-fi was fast and reliable. Staff was friendly and doted on us without being invasive. The fitness center is so clean it looks like it hasn't been used...ever. All of the machines have tvs. We enjoyed the new(er) treadmills, bath towels, free ear buds, purified water dispenser, and bottles of anti-bacterial gel. It might seem trivial, but it's a nice touch--especially if you don't like running in the 110-degree weather. Full breakfast was included with the room rate and was excellent. They had a selection of fresh juices and beautiful cuts of seasonal fruit. The wait staff was nothing short of incredible. I can't remember the last place I stayed that I enjoyed as much. I needed a place that was quiet and clean for a quick overnight in the area. This place was perfect. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodated me with the quietest, most remote room in the hotel. The shower was awesome (good pressure, shower head, and plenty of steamy hot water), and the bed was uber comfy. I would have appreciated a small continental breakfast for the price, but at least they offered a really nice breakfast for around $10. read more
