Just got back home after staying here for a conference. I'm always torn with Courtyards because I almost always love the room and I always hate the fact that they don't have free coffee available and many (if not all) have a little bistro to order coffee and a very limited breakfast. So, as usual I though the room was nice and I was pleased with the fact that the water pressure was good. Room was clean and the cleaning ladies did a pretty good job (though they didn't refill the coffee creamer packs twice). Bed was a little soft, but the pillows were awesome. View was great...beautiful sunrise each morning. One really big negative for me was that there were zero USB ports for charging...luckily I brought the actual plugs. Breakfast bistro (not included in the room price) was decent too, but I still prefer more options. Also, there are some decent food locations nearby, but it's a little bit of a walk and most of them are chains Overall a pretty decent stay...I'd stay her again.

The room is nice, the attendants in the lobby are friendly and the open space around the café is moderate and clean The beds are comfortable and the pillows soft I had one issue: just as I was washing my face, the shower stopped: - literally the water flow slowed and then ended. Quite the strange occurrence. 10 minutes later, after getting out, I tried it again and the shower worked. Hummm. I like this place so I'll come back again and again but the shower thing is just odd or "Off" if you prefer.

It is just the little things that separate the elite hotels from the others. Was in Phoenix for some training and stayed at this hotel. Booked everything online and it was a smooth transaction. Checking in was just as smooth. The lobby was clean and clear and the room was nice and well organized. They have a bar in the lobby with lots of comfortable lounge furniture. Would definitely consider staying here again. Pros -In room refrigerator, microwave -work space with a desk -Clean nice sized room with love seat -Nice lounge furniture in the lobby Cons -loud in room ac unit -only water cooler is in the fitness room -expensive bar!

Stayed here for one night and it was well worth it. Check in was fast and easy. It helps when the check in crew is professional. Great job. Got into the room and it was very clean. Everything was perfect for a great night. In the lobby they had a bar area where you can order drinks and food. Also had a small area where you can grab snacks and drinks all through the night. The pool area was great with a pool and a big jacuzzi. Also had a small basketball court to shoot around. Over all a great night and would love to stay the weekend.

I'm giving two stars ONLY because I was given a refund and received an apology through email. Below is original one star review. Very upsetting front desk worker. She was incredibly condescending upon first introduction. I have her my card so she couldn't have spelled my name wrong, talked about days booked and what not. When she finally gave me a card, I open up to a room with a couple getting dressed. I go down and tell her what happened. She asks me "are you the browns daughter?" I never said that name, I never mentioned any parents or family, I was checking in ALONE, and my name could never be confused with the name brown... just leaves for five minutes without communicating anything?? Then she comes back and tells me that the couple is finally leaving and that I can go up now. I hadn't seen the couple come down yet so I asked if the sheets were even changed. (and the bathroom should be cleaned and reset and everything should be wiped down for COVID right???) She just continues to talk over me and tries to give me the room again but I repeat my question. And she looks me straight in my eyes and says "the couple told me they didn't use the bed" !!!!???? Is that a joke? I guess I don't deserve a clean room right? I didn't say anything I just looked at her with the most 'are you a real person talking to me right now eyes' and she finally said "I'll just get you another room" like are you kidding? That should have been obvious right? After reading a few other reviews about trash and stains I decided to look around. I found trash. And I found stains. I'm going to throw up. These stains ARE NOT easy to miss. I don't know how it was just left for guests like this.

Maydeline at the Spa was very helpful and very in touch with guest needs. One step ahead everytime. Colin really saved the day with making sure we had everything we needed. Brennan was also really helpful at breakfast and bringing us water all the way to the retreat pool. There was a minor hiccup with requesting ice while we were there but they did take care of it and apologized the next day for it not being done promptly, the acknowledgement was great and it really was such a minor thing. The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

Dining: TAQUERIA CENTRO -- 10 out of 10. The food and service were both exceptional. Manager Carlos did an outstanding job and was a true highlight of our stay. Prado -- 4 out of 10. We visited Prado twice during our stay. Our first visit was for breakfast -- the food was okay but noticeably overpriced for what was offered. Our second visit was a far worse experience. We were seated and waited 15 minutes without our server ever acknowledging us, so we got up and left. The service at this restaurant was consistently poor and the pricing did not reflect the quality or experience provided. Dining Options -- Room for Improvement. For a resort of this size and reputation, the dining options felt limited. We would strongly recommend adding at least one additional restaurant to give guests more variety. The snack and coffee shop, which could help fill that gap, closed far too early in the evening. Extending those hours would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience, particularly for those who want a light bite or a cup of coffee later in the day. The Room -- 6 out of 10. The room itself was nice, but there were several issues that fell well below the standard I would expect from a resort of this caliber. The bed was old and noticeably worn down, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. To make matters worse, the comforter on the bed was torn and had visible holes in it -- something that should never make it into a guest room. We also struggled with the room temperature throughout the night and were unable to get it to cool down comfortably. A Bright Spot at Checkout: I spoke with Avery Williams, Director of Front Office, at checkout and she was genuinely outstanding. She was sincerely concerned about the issues we experienced and did everything she could to address them. She even followed up with an email after our departure, which was a very nice touch. Overall, I left feeling somewhat disappointed given the reputation of this resort. With a few improvements -- additional dining options, extended snack shop hours, updated room bedding and linens, and better temperature control -- along with a serious look at the service standards at Prado, this could easily be a 9 or 10 out of 10 experience.
