Supposed to be undergoing a renovation. I got in a renovated room, but it's darker than the darkest dungeon. The sink faucet is off so when you think you are getting universal hot, you're actually getting courtyard cold and when you think you're getting universal cold, you're getting courtyard hot it's absolutely ridiculous. Complete reverse of universal settings. You don't get service every day, but you're not told that you're not getting service every day and instead you come back to unserviced room but you wouldn't know the difference. It's unbelievable how dark these rooms are. It's unbelievable how modest the service is. You think you're going to an updated hotel but all you get is a dark cave with no lighting. You cannot see your hand in front of your face during the day in this room. And no service. And no towels. read more

Obligatory "I would give zero stars if I could". Long story short, their deceptive/false advertising for their available rooms very nearly ruined my anniversary weekend. I booked a king room with water view, complete with whirlpool tub for my anniversary weekend over the Memorial Day holiday for a total of $255/night. We live about 3 hours away and wanted to stay in the area because we are considering buying a home in Tri-Cities and wanted to check it out. What we got when we arrived was nothing short of being catfished. Room 319 (the numbers add up to 13, funnily enough) was not what we drove to and paid for. What we got was what Melody at the front desk referred to as an "accessible room", one which she swore had a whirlpool tub. My attached photo shows this was not the case, not only was it NOT a 2-person whirlpool tub, but actually shallower than a standard tub. This wasn't even the worst part, either. What I CAN'T post is the small strange locked closet that was in our room that produced the worst noise that is similar to a commercial a/c condenser unit (think the ones on roofs/outside of houses). I have no idea what was in this closet that would make this continuous noise, but Melody swore to us that no one had complained prior and that "maybe it isn't on continuously?". Originally we went to the reception area with the idea of a room credit in mind due to room not having a whirlpool tub as advertised (we were offered a $40 credit for this), however on going back into the room and hearing what an awful noise that it would be filled with we had to ask ourselves if we could really sleep there. The answer was NO, when we closed the door to the bedroom the noise got WORSE- think like a horrible booming continuous bass. They had no other rooms available to us due to the holiday weekend, nor did the other hotels we attempted to stay at. So we had our dinner at the restaurant we planned to eat at, and drove the 3 hours back home afterwards. I am disappointed with this place, not only for obvious false advertising reasons, but the fact that Melody at the front desk almost refused to believe the tub wasn't correct and that the room had a horrible noise issue. Why would we make this up? Why not come up and look for yourself and tell me if you want to sleep here for your anniversary weekend? Also, THIS was the room they give to people who require accessible rooms!? Unbelievable. Never will I stay at a Marriott because of my experience with this place, they need to do a room audit and price/list their rooms accordingly. STAY AWAY FROM ROOM 319! read more

This was an ok stay. The location made it three stars for us. Being right on the river and the trail was excellent. However, the staff weren't very friendly, the rooms didn't feel completely clean and the hotel Resaurant was out of 75% of what was on the menu for breakfast by 8:30 am. I am a regular at Marriott with year over year(s) Gold Elite status. Just mentioning this as a reference point to the number of different locations I have stayed. This one could really be four stars with some effort. I suspect the new property next door, The Lodge, will be taking a ton of business from this Marriott. read more

Great place to stay if you ever find yourself in Richland. This Courtyard is only about 7 years old and sits on the bank of the Columbia River which makes a great place to walk or run along during your visit. The rooms are nice- and at $89 a night- you really can't beat the price! Free WiFi in all the rooms and common spaces, free coffee in the rooms, a microwave and mini refrigerator, tons of hangers, a large TV, comfy bed and large bathroom make up the total package! Plus- if you are there to work- the desk is spacious and there are plenty of easy accessible plugs that don't have you crawling around on the floor! While there is no room service- there is a restaurant that is open in the morning that you can eat in- for $10.95- an all you can eat hot breakfast buffet or for $6.95- an all you can eat continental buffet. Either way- the food is good and there are plenty of tables to eat at overlooking the water. At night- the space converts over to a restaurant and there is also a lobby bar which makes the perfect place to end your evening. This Courtyard has a nice workout room as well as a pool if that is your thing. The service is friendly and accommodating. The check in process was quick and the front desk staff said hi to me each time they saw me. They even helped me when I was juggling a ton of stuff and still wanted to buy a bottle of water out of the cooler located by the desk. I don't find myself in Richland often. But you can bet, when I do- that this Marriott will get my business as they take the hassle out of business travel. And isn't that what it is all about? read more

The thing I like best about this hotel is the location. You have three restaurants just around the corner. Cleaning is very good too and housekeeping is super friendly. I like the fact that you can get your Starbucks coffee right there at the hotel lobby, they also have a little shop with things you might need, most of it is crazy over priced though. The gym is too small, I made sure I was there no later than 05:15 to make sure I got one of the two treadmills. My room was next to the gym, late at night someone used it and turned the TV up which made me wake up over and over again during the night :( I was going to tell the reception the next day when I came back, maybe they could make sure TV was turned of during night? But there was no one there behind the desk, three people in line before me. Finally someone came from the bar and told us he had called for the guy, 17 min story short. I left. read more

This used to be our go to hotel when staying in Tri cities. We hadn't been here since 2020 and were rather saddened by its condition now. Service is ok as usual and the bed comfortably as expected, location is great by the River and the walking path. However the place needs some work. The entire decor is 1990s. Door handles weren't working well, the hot tub was out of commission and had been for a long time. Carpet in our room was old and stained. As before, you can only get breakfast in the restaurant. The hotel is in a spectacular location with great restaurants. I had an amazing orchard salad at Lu Lu's nearby. It was so good we stayed for happy hour and had the pink candy and zucchini planks. Lu Lu's was so great we ended up back there at breakfast the next day as far as the hotel goes it was super clean we loved our view it was quiet. We would definitely go back. read more

I would give this 0 stars if I could. Here's my recent experience. I reserved a room for 2 nights at this hotel. After the first night, I woke up and attempted to shower so that I could be on time for an important event that I was attending. However, when I went to shower, there was no hot water. When I informed the front desk, she offered me points or to switch to another room to shower. I wasn't interested in points, I simply needed to shower to get ready for my day. Therefore, I switched rooms to shower. The water in the other room was lukewarm, however, since I was running out of time, a lukewarm shower was going to have to do. I proceeded to shampoo my hair when the water went ice cold after 3 minutes. I rinsed my hair in the sink and sponge-bathed. After a terrible experience, I requested a refund for my room and I switched hotels. The GM, Brey Bock thanked me for bringing this to their attention because they had a broken boiler and refused to comp or discount the room. I asked for her manager's information and she refused to provide it to me. For someone who has frequently traveled and stayed with Marriott hotels, I feel that is absolutely unacceptable to not offer a hot shower. I also think it is unacceptable for her to refuse to provide her manager's contact information when requested by a customer. I have never received such poor customer service from any of the Marriott hotels that I have visited. read more

Hmmm where do I start? Pros: clean rooms, nice lobby, beautiful view of lake, good food at the bistro. The issue I had was the fact that I checked in after a LONG day of travel, called downstairs to order food. Was transferred to the bistro and lady sounded frazzled and asked for my room# to call me back to take my order. 25 minutes later and STARVING, I decided to head downstairs myself and place my order assuming they were just really busy. Well...no one was dining downstairs. That's right, completely empty, so why couldn't she take my order and what the hell took 25+ minutes to call me back? She admitted she forgot. WOW, thanks all I wanted was a meal and to go to bed. Finally ate and headed back to my room to sleep except the walls are super thin and all I could hear is someone in the room above me walking jumping skipping whatever they were doing. I hardly slept and had a big presentation the next day. Speaking of the next day, ordered breakfast with a side of fruit. Never got my fruit. I mean is it really that hard people? It's a shame I had to give only 2 stars. Lastly, if the weather is in its 30's, I would assume it's cold enough to turn the fireplace in the really nice lobby on, but what do I know. read more

Terrible evening spent here. First of all, this place is more expensive than most Courtyard Marriotts and far less nice. Don't be fooled by the pretty lobby and decent-appearing rooms. We had to move rooms at midnight because they put us right above the boiler room and we woke to deafening noise that shook the floor. At first the alternative they offered us was a room where a tree bangs against the window. I said I'd take that over the boiler room but I prefer a quiet's night sleep, especially when I'm paying over $200 per night. They finally put us in a quieter room, but we were again awoken at 4 am by our neighbors seemingly having a party. The walls are so thin - at one point we were sandwiched between these 4 am partiers and kids who woke up at 6 am to watch cartoons. We were both wearing earplugs and the sound was still really loud. The room seemed decently clean with with a decent view, and the one positive was that the initial people who checked us in were helpful and lovely, but that's about it in terms of positive things I can say about this hotel. read more

Lovely location even though it was a freaky cold, snowy weekend in March. Right on the river, with several bars and restaurants within walking distance. Last weekend we had a big event at the Courtyard at Columbia point. I enjoyed my stay there as well as the friendly staff. The staff member that stands out the most was Suli. When I checked in she helped out with my members account that was needing corrections, she helped out with all the load I had to bring to my room from my luggage to event items and more. She is such a beautiful positive and energetic person. She was so friendly and accomodating as well. Then she also worked the event the very next day and everyone at the event loved her kindness, helpfulness, and fun energetic spirit. Again she went out of her way to help make everyone happy and she was so much fun to have around. This young lady has so much potetial and seemed to love her job. The Hotel is beautiful, clean, and had great ammenties. Not having the Hot tub up and running or my jacuzzi tub not working ether was only thing that I can say that was disappointing since I did an upgrade to have that. The other things I will discuss with management regarding some minors things. Had nothing to do with how awesome the hotel is. I will still be staying there again soon and also using the Hotel for events again. The view and atmospere is the best and I really loved my stay! read more

Fellow business travelers, they were playing that tired game of who's most jaded. I couldn't disagree more, Bogart. The more I travel for work, the more exact my wants from a hotel get: I want a quick check in. I want the room to smell good and have decent lighting. I'm here to work so I want a desk and fast and reliable internet connection and absolutely a good working iron (not one that leaks mysterious compounds onto my dress shirt). I want a king-sized bed even though I'm only five-seven. And the sheets have to be soft; I'm past the sleeping on sandpaper phase of my life. The room I like to be roomy, but not too roomy. Efficient, cushy, but not overly plush. It's good to have room service but even better to have that and a store in the lobby so I can just grab a cereal or an ice cream. One key thing is you have to have a crack staff of knowledgable, engaging people to make the whole thing come together. I didn't ask to be this particular. It just happened. I'm on my second stay at the Courtyard in Richland. That should tell you something. It's got everything I said I want. And it's on the Columbia River, with a path outside where I can run along the river. It's got a killer seafood restaurant a short stumble away. And a fridge in the room for my brews should I feel antisocial. No, my cynical friend, hotels are not all alike. Not even big chain hotels. This place made me comfortable on a business trip. I booked this room on Priceline as I do all my hotels and got a reasonable rate. It was Memorial weekend and was not a full hotel by any means. I asked for a river side room and was told that they could not do that as I booked on Priceline and the room type was already set. This is not true. The room was great except for the bird nest on the balcony with swooping swallows not happy about my presence and chirping at 6 am! My husband forgot to grab the key and returning to the hotel at 11 pm carrying a sleeping 6 year old should not have been too inconvenient with the exception of them LOCKING the doors! I have never experienced this before even in the seediest of cities (and if you know Richland this is NOT the case). No big deal, I'll just buzz the lobby right? Well I did for 15 minutes as well as calling the hotel and hearing the phone ring and ring with NO voice messaging. Finally, someone opened the door and was irritated with ME for not having my key! The next morning we go downstairs to help ourselves to the usual juice machines, bowl of cereal and old pastries and to my surprise a waffle maker and a man making omelets! After serving ourselves and seating ourselves with NOTHING said and no menu or sign, we started walking back to the room and they chased us down with a $30 bill! For 2 adults and 1 6yr. old who had cereal! My husband had only a banana! The worst part about this whole experience was how the management handled it, or didn't handle it I should say. I left a message at the desk for the manager to call me. A week later I called her and she acted like she didn't know I was waiting for a call. She said "Oh, something about having to pay for breakfast?" After telling her the few complaints and her being defensive "Priceline shouldn't have even given you that room", "We were fully booked that weekend", "None of our Courtyard Marriott's have continental breakfast"...At the break in the conversation where normally customer service would say something like "I'm sorry about that"... she was just silent. I had to look at my phone to see if we got disconnected! She never did apologize AT ALL. I will never stay at ANY Marriott again! read more

Most expensive place for what you get. Rooms are way in the 200's. This stay, the pool did not work. It not matter anyways, you can't laps in a tiny pool. The water view has a view of the river but mostly the view of the freeway bridge. The kitchen in the room or whatever it's called, is room only for the provided microwave that I did not use and the mini frig underneath. Also, the WiFi is much to be desired. I've been to nicer Marriotts and Hyatt's for cheaper. On the good side, the staff are very accommodating and nice. read more

I've stayed in some rather crappy Marriotts and I wasn't expecting much of a difference from this one. I mean, Marriott in Richland, WA, come on. Well color me impressed. The building and everything inside is modern. The furniture is in new-ish condition and they spent a good amount of money on this place. Suite! Sweet! I don't know which was better; the high quality of this establishment, or the fact that it shared a parking lot with the venue for the wedding reception I went to on Saturday. Just a stumble away! Really, though, this is one of the nicer hotels I've ever seen. I shared the 'suite' with Sissy One, her husband, and Sissy Three, and we had all kinds of room. There was a little kitchenette for the prefunction (and for making coffee the next morning!), a huge bathtub that we used in lieu of the hottub since we'd forgotten our suits (just kidding, but we could have) and a nice pull-out hide-a-bed in the living area (gotta love spooning with yer sista!). The only disappointment was that the breakfast served in the morning was not a free continental-style like we'd been expecting. Denny's it was. If I ever go back to the Tri-Cities (sooner rather than later, God willing), I'd totally stay here again! read more

I came with my husband on his business trip so needless to say, I spent a lot of time in the hotel and in our room. Very clean hotel, great little gym and nice pool and hot tub to enjoy. They also have a great bistro open for breakfast and lunch, the only downside here is they don't serve lunch which is why I did 4 instead of 5 stars. Hotel is also walking distance to a good amount of restaurants on the water! They do have a cute sundries shop with microwavable food and microwaves in the rooms! The food in the "Bistro" is actually pretty good for hotel food! Overall, very impressed with staff and all accommodations. read more

I had a nice, comfortable room with a terrific view of the Columbia River during my three-night stay. I was there for a meeting held at the hotel, so my only comment would be about the quality of some of the food. The scrambled eggs for breakfast one morning were absolutely awful--flavorless and resembling some sort of hideous, vibrating rubber sculpture--and a sandwich I had one day in a hotel-prepared box lunch featured a veritable mountain of bread that was impossible to get in my mouth without pulling a muscle. read more

I've been going there for years, and even when the slight error happens (happens to everyone) they sure know how to take care of the situation. Oscar Gonzalez is always a pleasure when you're greeted by him. He remembers you by name and, genuinely, looks happy to see people come stay at this hotel. Today, I ran into an issue of overbooking and he called me and emailed me to let me know in advance. He also made sure I was taken care of at their sister property not too far down the road. We stayed here for one night which was our worst hotel experience. We have two little ones. Elevator was not working. We had to move the stroller upstairs ourselves. They didn't even offer help. No crib available to make it even worse. The phone in the room was out of order. The carpet had stains all over. Complimentary breakfast was not included even though we are platinum members and always got it before etc etc. Definitely not recommended. read more

Maybe 3.5 Stayed one night for new years eve to ring in 2021 peacefully without our three kids. 2nd floor river front view was BEAUTIFUL. Front desk on the other hand, though nice she did seemed undertrained. Bistro was closed for covid but when I asked about having any food she said "well you can order door dash or something like that..." anyways, we picked up our kids to have breakfast and just needed milk for their cereal. Winco it is, no problem whatsoever! BUT... Upon checkout my husband notices a display of various foods for purchase such as cereal and what not. Not once did she mention this over the phone when I asked. Something you SHOULD mention in hospitality. Aside from that blip my only real complaint is the tub. We decided to stay there instead of the lodge because they had a "whirlpool tub" as specified in our suit description, which the lodge didnt have available at the time. Guess what? The jets didn't work (which we specifically asked for) and the tub panel was screwed on with basic screws and honestly it looked like crap and will eventually rust out, just a heads up. The room in general was clean-ish... There was a foil beverage seal stuffed between the mattress & box springs. We (and everyone should) always check for bed bugs when staying anywhere so that was gross. Luckily no bed bugs lol. We did have noisy upstairs high heals and could hear every convo from them thru the bathroom fan vent, which also didn't work. The bed was comfortable and for $209 it was mostly worth it. Just watch out for ditzy employees i guess and hidden garbage. There was visible filth in the bathroom, along the sides of the desk, a recipient balled up on the floor under the vanity sink so those concerned about covid BEWARE it was NOT cleaned to covid standards (we brought Clorox wipes) like I said we have three kids and for judgement sake I have been in hospitality and janitorial services for 10 plus years, so I've seen worse. Ill go back because though I'm a neat freak, I'm not picky and understand the business.... but the food would have been nice to know about when I asked. I normally strip the bed and pull trash for housekeeping when I stay anywhere as i know you can get overloaded with rooms, sometimes more than one person can realistically handle with the expectations (Not specifically this hotel but in my personal experience.) Overall we enjoyed our stay but for those who are finicky, you might want to check other locations. read more

Placard's in the elevator and in the lobby indicate breakfast through dinner and lounge availability. There is nothing. Don't advertise it if you don't have it. maybe it's because I'm from Vegas but I just wasn't thrilled with this hotel, and really not for $130 a night. The bathroom has one little tiny sink with no countertop space for barely a hairbrush. There's only one hook and one tiny towel rack in the bathroom. I wanted to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without waking my husband but you can't turn on the bathroom light without turning on the outer light that lights up the whole room!! And worse when the toilet flushes its so insanely loud I wondered if it was broken. The breakfast is $10 but it's basically just a continental breakfast with a few extras. Better to go out and get breakfast. It does have a nice path to walk on along the river but otherwise it's just a generic hotel.
