The staff member checking us in was ok but the woman checking us out was rather rude. We didn't sleep at all at this location. The bed was hard as a brick and AC didn't work properly. It was either freezing or blazing hot with no in-between. The AC was also so incredibly loud that it was impossible to sleep through. Room looked old and run down as well. Not a pleasant stay whatsoever. Only saving grace was the location of the hotel. read more

The best thing about this courtyard Marriott is the location. That along is worthy of five stars. It's tough to beat since it's in such close proximity to just about everything, from shopping to restaurants and even a golf range just around the corner. The rooms are decent, I was expecting a little more since they had supposedly upgraded my room. Just felt very much like a standard room, with the exception of a bar soap, no toiletries were available. Gum and pool area is more of the same, typical, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The Hotel felt clean and updated, I would probably consider staying here again in the future but only for business. read more

We stayed for two nights and had a pleasant stay. The beds were comfy with a nice soft feel, and the TV and AC worked well. The staff here are great! The gentleman at the breakfast counter was really friendly serving us quickly and doing it with a big smile. So, it was my second recent visit. There's a pandemic going on. My travel plans have been cancelled. I opted for a "stay-cation." The hotel is pretty cool for the most part, but my stay was marred by a lot of little things, some of which were preventable. Upon checking I handed my license and credit card to the staff member at the front desk. For whatever reason, she didn't hand both of them back to me. She threw one on the counter. I'm my opinion, this is very thoughtless and impolite. It's actually a pet peeve of mine. I just think if you are in a service industry, particularly hospitality, you should always be polite and thoughtful when dealing with customers. There were a handful of other small issues that got my attention. For example there was long, straight brown hair in the shower. I don't have brown hair, or straight hair, or long hair... The bathtub was dripping when I came in, noticeably. The fixtures in the bathroom looked odd, some grayish and chalky. I'm guessing there may be some type of sterilization process or something but who knows. Also, my television was on when I entered the room. Odd. One morning in particular there was a lot of noise outside of my room door. There were multiple internet issues also. Again, all of the issues were small, but after the bad first impression, the small issues stood out more than they otherwise may have. The bed was comfortable. And the rest of the room seemed clean. I only interacted with housekeeping once. It was a pleasant interaction. It was my second recent stay. You could do a lot worse. The value was okay. No room service and nothing complimentary. That was slightly disappointing but understandable since the world is so strange these days. I may very well stay here again for a few nights if the pandemic continues and I need a "fake getaway," but it won't be my first choice. read more

Located in the heart of Oldsmar is Courtyard by Marriott Tampa Oldsmar. Approximately 15 minutes from Tampa International Airport. Greeted with a friendly face (her name escapes me) was OUTSTANDING exceptionally customer service and provided information about the layout, pools, restaurants, Starbucks onsite, etc. You are walking distance to an Applebee's (which is located right in front of the hotel), Buffalo Wild Wings, First Watch, City Fish Grill, and several smaller restaurants, plus there is a little bistro inside the Courtyard, so there are plenty of choices right nearby. There is an outdoor pool which was very popular with the family visiting from Minnesota, and a small indoor gym with a handful of well-maintained pieces of equipment. Very clean and huge rooms. There is a Bistro on-site with space to eat, drink, and connect. You can even start your morning off with breakfast and Starbucks coffee (also on-site). Parking is free and there is plenty of spots it is shared with Marriott Residence Inn which is next door. There is also a free shuttle service within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. So to Countryside Mall or AMC Movie Theater would be as far as they would go. The staff was very friendly and professional.  If you are in the area and need to stay for a day or so I recommend this location. read more

EVENT REVIEW I recently attended a wedding event at this Courtyards location and I just had to share my experience. Once upon a time we exclusively used Courtyard by Marriott for all of our hotel travel needs. Although it's been years since we've done an overnight stay, I remember how much we always enjoyed breakfast. So it didn't surprise me that the food prepared for the wedding by the hotel chef was good. However, it did surprise me that it was so good I would easily be a regular here for dinner if they were a restaurant. GREAT VENUE If you are considering a venue for a wedding or corporate function and food taste/quality is important, this location should be high on your list. We were served a garden salad, rolls, amazing green bean w/almonds, delicious butter noodles, the best garlic mashed red potatoes I've ever tasted and really delicious sliced ham. If that were the entire meal I would have been completely happy, however the final item on the menu was chicken alfredo and it was Uuuh-Ma-Zing. It honestly makes no sense to me that this incredible chef creates meals like this in a chain hotel. I was blown away by his excellent cooking and I am pretty confident that I'm not over-hyping the food. I will admit I had fairly low expectations, but even if they were high they would have been exceeded. The wedding consisted of about 70 guests and ran smoothly (in my opinion) using the in-house events coordinator. There were a few discrepancies between the bride and the event coordinator concerning things promised, so my advice would be to get everything in writing prior to committing to this venue... which only makes sense. The only reason this hotel is rated as ok is because the day staff and room besides the small ants were ok. The overnight staff is another story. A guest next door to my room decided to argue with his significant other after 11pm, yelling at the top of his voice and swearing nonstop for well over an hour. My best friend was in town this past weekend, and I knew that meant a night or two of bar hopping and general debauchery, so I decided to get a room at the Marriott Courtyard to be near the action. This Courtyard is located in Oldsmar, along Tampa Road (Hillsborough Avenue extended), at the intersection of St. Petersburg Drive. There are several hotels right near this intersection, and it's really quite convenient if you fly into Tampa, and have business in Pinellas County. The Courtyard is tucked behind an Applebee's, and as a result the road noise is fairly minimal, though you'll will hear the train whistles as the CSX trains rumble through Oldsmar. There is plenty of free parking, and you're actually sharing the parking lot with the Marriott Residence Inn which is right next door. You are walking distance to an Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, City Fish Grill, and several smaller restaurants, plus there is a little bistro inside the Courtyard, so there are plenty of choices right nearby. There is an outdoor pool which was very popular with the family visiting from Minnesota, and a small indoor gym with a handful of well-maintained pieces of equipment. The lobby has the bistro with doubles as a place to get breakfast or dinner, as well as the bar area. You'll also find a small marketplace where you can pick up snacks, drinks, and essential items. There is a large sitting area which has comfy chairs and sofas, and gives people a nice place to grab a cup of coffee or tea, and then just relax. They also have a small business center with two computers for checking your email and printing boarding passes. Upstairs, the rooms are quintessential Marriott with clean rooms, super comfy beds, and plenty of space to work at the desk, or just relax on the sofa and watch TV. As with all Marriott's, there are outlets galore which makes it great to re-charge electronic devices, oh....and free WiFi too! The bathroom divides the shower / toilet from the sink and closet area, and there is the usual collection of thick towels, and Marriott toiletries offered for free. Booked in for the week by Corporate - not a lot of choice. Day 1 - check in 7P - Toilet not working correctly - call maintenance. They don't arrive until morning and after I leave for meetings at 7:30A. At least it is fixed by the time I get in at 6PM. Day 2 - Good stay - no problems - a 5 star night. Thinking it is more due to the long day and just collapsing to sleep than the hotel conditions. Day 3 - Wake up 6AM to get ready for a business meeting - no water (none at all). Use overpriced bottled water to brush teeth/wash face and get out the door. Elevator broke - carry laptop and meeting supplies down 2 flights of stairs. Return from meeting 3P - Cold water only - elevators fixed. Go downstairs for a light snack and restaurant closed - no hot water but assured it will be up by 8PM at the latest. Offered complimentary bottle of soda/microwave popcorn. Graciously accept - get back to room - No Microwave. Seriously? Th 9PM take a cold shower - at least there is water. I am dreading tomorrow morning and looking forward to checking out and heading home. Looking for late night flights tomorrow get the hell out of dodge and back home. If that doesn't happen - checking out and getting another hotel. read more

It is what it is. A Marriott Courtyard. Aren't they all pretty much the same. A good bed for a decent price. They've updated since the last time I stayed here. Have flat screens now. Rooms also have coffee makers, love seats and decent sized bathrooms. This one also has a buffet breakfast. Can't beat the close proximity to Applebee's for late night two-for-ones! read more

This was such a disappointment. Everything appeared nice when you first entered the building and the room. I was immediately aware of a loud noise that sounded like a loud motor running non stop. I mentioned it to the desk clerk. After investigating it he did not have an explanation and would not switch rooms upon my complaint. It is Now 1:30 in the morning and I can't sleep due to the noise. This will be my last visit to Marriott..so over rated and disappointing. If you want to sleep don't stay here. read more

For anyone who is planning a wedding and wants to use the Courtyard by Marriott as their official hotel, BEWARE!!! This hotel and their sale team will only work with you till the moment of the event. I had a signed contract for a block of rooms for my wedding in October. The hotel waited 3 weeks before my wedding to inform me they were under major construction and they could no longer accommodate my contract/needs. Rather than work with me, I was pushed off to other hotel, 10 miles from the original with no transportation. Speak to manger?? Good luck with that! Not even the general mangers will return your phone calls. I ended up booking the hotel across the street; Holiday INN and SUITES. read more

I stayed here in August or September 2007 when I had to go to Tampa for some training. Due to the proximity of this hotel to the Nielsen Company location on Brooker Creek, this place should just rename itself "The Nielsen Dorm Facilities." read more

HANDICAP ALERT-- we had a reservation for a handicap accessible room with a request for a roll in shower. When we arrived we were told that the only roll in shower was taken, but we could have an accessible room with tub. The room we got did have wide doors and a roll under sink but that is it. No handrails around the comode, not safety rails etc in the tub. Very disapointing. Also the comode was a std. height- not comfort height as in most accessable rooms. read more

I have to stay in this place for 2 weeks. The morning front desk bitch is probably the meanest person I've ever encountered. I called several times about a light fixture in my room that didn't work properly along with some of the furniture that was broken & nothing was ever addressed. I was using he shuttle service they have & on the weekend I called to be taken to a car rental place, I got some bs excuse that the shuttle was not available for 2 hrs. So I decided to walk but I've been seeing the shuttle people every day so when I start walking to my destination I run into one & ask him why are they so busy, the driver tells me they aren't busy & if they were they have a second shuttle they can use. I was appalled & told the driver I was told he was super busy & wasn't able to take me anywhere for at least 2-3 hrs. He was surprised since they keep a list of places they need to be at and he was free most of the morning. I will never stay at this hotel again, the only good thing about it is the friendly guy in the morning that works at the bistro and the shuttl. Other than that these people are just plain rude. Update I've been staying in this hotel for 10 days. They haven't cleaned my room in 3 days. I have asked every morning for the last two days & nothing. They had some water issue & now the hotel doesn't have water. That's no excuse to not even clean a room & at least replace the towels. Seriously. Tried calling the front desk & there's no answer. Definitely one of the best Courtyards I've stayed at. The rooms are almost like an exquisite hotel, very nicely laid out with spacious revamped bathrooms. The only thing that's missing is a fridge and microwave. It has all the amenities that all Courtyards have but just a whole lot nicer. It has a very nice pool, a good sized workout room (machine weights only), and a very spacious lobby for socializing. No dinner service here, only breakfast is served in the restaurant. The staff here is also very welcoming and some of the nicer staffs I've dealt with. It does have the convenience of having an AppleBee's right next door for close dining. If only it wasn't in the boonies of Tampa, I wish all Courtyards could be like this one. read more

I had a friend in town and had to book a room less than 24 hours in advance. Ended up booking 2 nights on points and used a room upgrade to get the 2 bedroom suite. We had such a great time we added another 3 nights (points & upgrade) and again for last night using a certificate & upgrade. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful. I was quite pleasantly surprised by the extraordinary lengths that the desk clerk, Karalinna, went to in order to address concerns my wife and I encountered. She guided us through the process of getting the best rate that we qualified for saving us lots of $ and getting a very nice room. She was knowledgeable, patient, pleasant & resourceful. I feel Marriott is taking advantage of the situation during COVID-19 a bit. Now there is a $5 per day charge for parking. Daily maid service has been eliminated. But overall the property was clean and the staff friendly. read more

Recently I started traveling again for business and I have had some wonderful experiences at Marriott hotels. I almost stopped using Marriott as a go to chain after I had a wedding reception at this hotel in December 2021. It made me realize that I needed to not only post this review but I also needed to be mindful and post positive reviews in the future. I was widowed over 10 years ago and after becoming engaged in 2019 decided to hold our wedding and reception locally. We wanted a one stop shop due to several elderly guests and we were assured because of positive reviews from 2018 and early 2019 that this hotel could make it happen. This was an important event for myself and my fiancée. We waited almost 2 years to get married because of the pandemic. I'm fairness to the hotel the ceremony went extremely well. The end of the evening was disappointing when the bar closed down early to start. By the next day we began hearing from several guests about various issues. People actually told us that they were shocked and surprised at the lack of variety the bar offered although we chose a premium bar package and assumed this is what our guests would receive. They didn't. I should have realized something was terribly wrong when my husband had to provide the bar with cranberry juice. I don't know whether this was just poor planning or done on purpose but it wasn't right. Maybe this hotel didn't consider this an important event but it meant everything to us. And yes I did contact the hotel on the next business day and was made to feel like somehow this was our fault for not pointing it out the day of the wedding although I didn't start hearing about 99% of the issues until the next day. This was an extremely disappointing experience and one that can never be rectified. read more

I stayed here after a bar hopping event a little while back. While it is just a Marriot like an other, this one is really new, clean, and offers great food. Because of these things, it's really a much nicer Courtyard Marriot than someone might expect. It's got a gym and pool, but I couldn't find dinner here unless you are with a wedding party. That's alright because it's within walking distance to Botan Sushi, Oldsmar Taphouse, and Applebee's. Good value here! read more

The price was very affordable and our check in went very smoothly. The room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the Tampa area. read more

Our wedding was set for 5/27/17 Memorial Weekend. After our initial venue canceled less than 2 months before and we were scrambling for a new venue, reception and hotel. The Hampton in staff did a phenomenal job setting up all the rooms needed, meeting our needs without a hiccup. Once we checked in through check out they took care of everything, we had no issues everything was taken care of with such ease. Which we know could not be easy with the volume of family we had.
