I am writing to thank Coury Buehler for a good experience rehabing a hamsteing injury. I've never done PT before and it helped. Dr Amanda Oshita was great. During the course of treatment, one weekend, after watching the world cup in a park on a folding chair, had greatly worsened my hamstring pain. I came to the appointment juat to share I had been in alot of pain for days and couldn't do the PT. Amanda had me lie down, could tell my hips were out of alignment. After 10-15 minutes of adjustments and exercise the pain was gone! It was amazing, I was very impressed, and so glad i was in treatment. Let me tell you what it is like to be 8-9 months pregnant. You're carrying a big load, you've gained a substantial amount of weight, your extremities are swollen, and you have unexpected pain in places you didn't know so... your movement is definitely restricted. What was once a strut is now a waddle, and you're moving at a much slower pace. I have had the pleasure of working with Gillian and David. Both PTs are incredibly personable, knowledgeable and detail oriented. They would ask me questions to make me aware of how my movement affects different parts of the body, massage painful areas, and give me exercises that help me extend my movements to make me stronger, more flexible, and able to handle daily life. The office staff is very friendly, esp Tatiana. Always willing to accommodate my appts and times. It is a very clean, colorful and inviting environment. I can't say enough good things about the entire team following my therapist Camila. I had a right shoulder manipulation surgery and my Orthopedic surgeon referred me to this place. Quite possibly the worse physical therapy I ever been to. They have too many people and barely focus on your individual needs. I would be there for 20-30 min tops. Just a waste of time and money. Coury & Ferris Buehler is not the right place to go to if you're looking for a treatment plan to improve your condition. I always go to Coury Buhler in Irvine for physical therapy treatment. I have been a patient there for many years and have been treated for different body parts. Most recently, I was treated by Timothy Phan for my neck and my lower back. I was very impressed with Tim. He is kind, caring, thorough, patient and very skilled. At each visit, he attentively inquires about the current symptoms, modifies the treatment plan accordingly, and explain clearly the rationale (the why and the how) of the exercises, making it easier for me to do them correctly. This place is a huge scam. They tell patients that insurance will cover the treatment (minus a deductible) but then you come to find out your insurance does not cover this particular treatment facility and are left with a large bill. I am SO grateful for physical therapy and CBPT!! I came in with an overuse injury on my ankle from running and was paired up with Jonathan, who was extremely knowledgeable about physical therapy (obviously, a literal doctor of PT), but also running specifically. He took the time to explain the likely cause of my injury, gave me specific exercises to address my weaknesses, and taught me how to safely increase my weekly mileage. He answered all of my questions with care and was very easy to talk to. I just finished my first marathon a few weeks ago (LA marathon) and I credit physical therapy for helping me do it injury-free. This business is really poor. My left knee still have problem after 1.5 years and every time I lapse the 2 months even by couple days they want you to do initial assessment most likely to make more money. Bad part is in general initial assessment is also not done quickly. I have had like 3 assessments with them and last time only 6 days past the 2 months time. read more

I would like to be a patient at Coury and Buehler, but apparently my ONLY option when calling ANY of the many locations is to talk to someone overseas who knows nothing about the company other than what is in their script. Basically, locations, times, directions. Then, if I need any other info, or need to immediately get a hold of a therapist with a pressing question, I have to email someone at the front desk of the location, because they are too busy helping whoever is standing in front of them at the location. There is apparently no receptionist to just answer calls at this busy company. This sounds troubling that they are not using 1. A call center in the US, 2. A good old answering service or voicemail. Just getting any basic info is quite painful. Not sure if this is the place for me, but I am hamstrung by the fact that my insurance gave me their name. read more

This was my second series of PT treatments at the Irvine location within a year. I specifically returned here for treatment after a recent shoulder injury and asked for Yashi Kobayashi again. The structure of treatment at C & B is efficient and effective and the environment is upbeat. Yashi answers all questions clearly and Mark, the assistant who coached me through follow up exercises, was very good at making sure I used correct form. I had an extreme lower back unbearable muscle pain and advised to have 5 days treatment - one day of each week, during Nov - Dec 2024 at West Yale Loop, Irvine branch. I was assigned Therapist Justin. He is a great physio therapist and from the day one till my last session, quickly diagnosed my muscle problem and provided solutions with P.T. He took care of my health and wanted me to be healthy. He is knowledgeable with the P.T. and testify that he is outstanding in his profession. I worked with David Luckett following lower back surgery. He provided exceptional care, working to build up my strength while using stretching and deep tissue massage to release knots and stiffness. Always had very catered exercises for each phase of my recovery and was very responsive to feedback and setbacks that I encountered. Pleasant conversation and banter with David and the assistants. Since starting physical therapy with Daniel at Coury & Buehler last year, I have gained the strength and confidence to be able to resume activities such as tennis, skiing, rollerblading, walking daily and jogging (short distance on soft surface), working out at the gym, and playing sports with my son on our driveway. When I first met Daniel, I experienced pain while standing, sitting, and laying down. I was feeling weak and scared that I would one day end up in a wheelchair. After almost a year of consistent sessions with Daniel, now I have the confidence to think that maybe one day, I could run a 5K or even challenge myself to do a triathlon! Not only is Daniel professional and extremely knowledgeable, you can tell that he is passionate about the work that he does. He is patient - he would listen to my questions and concerns (lots of them, but he never showed that he was annoyed or treated my concerns as being insignificant) and educated me on how the body works, explaining in a way that I could understand. He is skilled with manual therapy, and he taught me a variety of exercises and stretches that I've stuck with and are continuing to strengthen me. As a physical therapist, I would give him an A+. He is also an amazing coach, who could guide you to overcome your limiting beliefs and motivate you to keep moving and living an active lifestyle (with a better understanding of the body and how to maintain it for the long-term). At 44 years old and having experienced multiple car accidents, I have seen quite a few physical therapists. I have not met one that I would recommend, except Daniel. Thank you, Daniel! I injured my left knee when I crossed a street in hurry. I went to Coury & Buehler at Yale Loop to treat my left knee pain. Yashi is my PT. He is knowledgeable, patient, observant, and professional. My leg is getting better every week during his treatment. Nick also helped me with some movements. He is very friendly, nice, and helpful. Now I can walk correctly and without pain. Dr. David L is amazing. He is very knowledgeable about anything that I need help with. He made good suggestions and directions for what should be done next step to make progress and solve the problems. I had bicepts tendinitis that makes my shoulder hurt and limit my mobility. I would like to leave a zillion star review for my therapist Justin! I had therapy related to my knees & foot/ankle. From my initial evaluation to my final date of treatment, I received the best quality of care! Justin was extremely patient with this patient! He allowed me to express why I thought I was experiencing knee issues. And, Justin leveled up by asking a very important question; "What do you hope to achieve with therapy?" My response; "I would like to leave here without limping". Throughout my course of therapy I encountered many set backs; Pain/reduced mobility due to an extra pilates class, dancing, a fall onto both knees/toes, & I experienced Pseudogout for the first time. With each set back Justin brought me back to having some mobility. And, upon completion of my course of therapy (12 visits) I have full mobility with limited knee pain. I promised to do my exercises & Justin ensured me that he could get me walking without a limp. Justin also encouraged me to continue Pilates which allowed me to regain my mobility more quickly & maintain socialization. *I almost satisfied my personal goal of 200 pilates classes in 2023...I attended 198!!! So how bad were my knees & foot/ankle? They were all very swollen and my mobility was truly limited. I am a very active/social individual (53) & I was hoping this wasn't my new normal. I have been limited to footwear for sometime & when the Pseudogout introduced itself I had difficulty sitting & standing to go along with my limp. As one may imagine it was embarrassing & made me want to limit socializing. Therefore, I truly want to share my gratitude & thank Justin for the wonderful success, care & his kindness overall! I can't emphasize how important physical therapy is for a body that needs healing and a mind that needs calming. Before I went to Coury and Buehler, I was with another PT Center and I was miserable and the PTs were unprofessional and were doing inappropriate stuff. Coury and Buehler PTs, PTA and front office admin staff are just GOLD class. They are very good in what they do, professional and the place is very clean. The staff is very nice, caring and accommodating too including the billing department. I feel I'm getting better healing here not only because of the therapy services but because of the vibe of the staff and the place. I came here for my knee's micro tear on the meniscus. I was really nervous coming here especially because I've never had an injury so severe before. My therapist, Yashi, made my few months experience comfortable and was super supportive when showing me my exercises. Amanda was also my favorite front desk lady! She always greeted me with a smile and after a few visits, she remembered me making signing a breeze! Nick was my favorite exercise assistant since he was so outgoing and supportive. Laura was absolutely amazing. From the first appointment to even after our regularly scheduled appointments; she has been there for me during my recovery. It truly shows through her work, care, and patience that she is patient first always. She is super personable and really listens to you. I came in for a right shoulder injury that limited my range of motion. She asked me what my goals were in terms of physical therapy and beyond. After I got a sports injury from lifting too much and pulling my hamstring, I needed some professional help. I was a bit skeptic about physical therapy having never done it before, but from what I've heard from others, it never really helped them, however I came here with an open mind and this place was recommended by the podiatrist that I saw. Appointments are easy to make and even cancel if you give them enough notice and a good reason. The space is large and open. On a busy day you can see about 15 people getting physical therapy, and you never feel cramped. I got assigned to Charles and Richard. Charles met up with me, I told him my issues, and throughout 2-3 weeks of once time a week we worked on the location through massages. It was painful at first, but as the weeks progressed, I started noticing a difference. I could actually bend my knee upward now without pain. Richard helps out afterwards with all the exercises that I am supposed to do. I workout regularly and thought I was in good shape, but the physical therapy they had me do was working on my core and butt region that I guess I normally don't use much. It's taken a lot of time to activate it all, but it has tremendously helped. The team here is superb, and I would recommend anybody who wants to try physical therapy to give them a shot. I was skeptical at first, but I'm a firm believer that this does work if you put in the effort. read more
