I've shopped here a few times. Owner has great taste, a bit eclectic mixed with classic leather bags and shoes. The items are pristine...everything is steamed and looks perfect, which I appreciate as consignment. You feel as if you're buying new yet know you're helping the environment. The great thing about consignment that I love is you won't be buying something everyone else has off the rack...it feels one of a kind. Prices are fair for brands she carries... Highly recommend if you want to meet the re-incarnation of Joan Crawford. I got a condescending lecture about presentation because the clothes I brought in were not on hangers. I wish I had seen the low ratings (and one that was filtered out). They're dead on. read more

This is my favorite Consignment store!!! I'm confused about any negative reviews, that hasn't been my experience here at all. I shop here at least once a week, probably more so I feel I have a wide variety of experiences to draw from. 1. The owner, Susie is always welcoming. I see her greet customers as they enter. If she doesn't help someone right away it's because she's busy helping someone else or on the phone, there's only 1 of her... I have also been treated well by her employees but yes it's true if there's only 1 person helping customers they can't spread themselves out... they have to help each person one at a time. And of all the time I've spent in this store I have not seen what Ashlie reported (not that I don't believe she had a negative experience - it's just that that hasn't been MY experience). 2. The clothes are reasonably priced!!! I have bought some amazing pieces here and most have been around $30. It's true, if you're looking for a $10 pair of pants you'd best go to Goodwill and not to Couture Revival. Susie carries name brands and some of them are very high end. Sure you'll spend a bit on a Chanel suit or coat but where else can you find a used Chanel suit or coat that's going to be less than 1/2 of what you would pay for it new at a department store? 3. Susie has taken 80% of the clothes and jewelry I've brought in to re-sell. Does she take everything, no? She's picky and that's a good thing! First of all I don't need her to waste her time or mine by taking things that will never sell and secondly, I don't want to find something sub-par (ie: in poor condition) to be resold. No one here has ever been "snobbish". Everyone is kind, friendly, down to earth and FUN! This is where I go to laugh and relax, try on clothes and have a good time. The clothes are good quality, the jewelry is fantastic, the shoes, purses, hats and wallets are all great!!! I can't say enough about my favorite consignment store -- Couture Revival!! read more

Some great finds here - and many high-end items. Not as expensive as you might fear from the use of the word "Couture." Service: Friendly, but not aggressively so. In fact, I'd rate service here higher than Avant Garde or Bella, the consignment shops across the street. read more

I have to agree with the other reviewer. The time I came here to shop, I wasn't greeted for 10 minutes after I entered the store, and all of the clothes seemed really overpriced for consignment. Then when I tried to consign some pieces to them from brands that I had seen in their store, they turned me away with a snobbish attitude. Snobby and rude. With all the lovely resale clothing shops in San Rafael-- don't bother with this one. If you're looking to sell your clothes, the best places really are in SF. They won't treat you like you're a child and tell you that you need to "present the dress pressed and on a hanger" in order to sell it. Completely ridiculous. read more

I have had great luck finding some wonderful bargains at this shop. I have scored adorable shoes and tops and some cute jackets, along with a sweater I am wearing right now! I love the jewelry selection and have found the owner to be super helpful. If items have been in the store for a while, she is willing to discount them. A few times she offered and I didn't even ask! I have consigned a few items there and brought my mother in laws clothing and accessories in, and most things sold pretty quickly. I gotta say, I love this store! read more

The mere fact that there are no other reviews about speaks for itself. The clothes are in too poor a condition for the prices asked. Furthermore, to make your living in a occupation that relies heavily on customer service requires some tact and professionalism. In my brief interaction with this store manager/owner, she showed neither. Downtown San Rafael is alive with culture, style and many cute clothing shops. I suggest exhausting other options before shopping here. read more

Susie is so friendly and, although she is selective in her assortment for her store, she is kind about rejecting pieces you might want to consign. She knows her customers and buys accordlingly. I have known Suzie for years. I had owned a business a few doors down from her store and her store is my favorite shopping experience. I read the review from the woman who was upset she had to bring clothes in for sale that were in good condition . I thought if you wanted to sell your clothes that was the point. If you didn't know the difference you would think you were in a designer one of a kind studio. Suzie has a brilliant eye and the clothes in her shop are impeccable. I have shopped there ever since she opened and the things in my closet that I feel the most beautiful in came from her store. Being her neighbor for years I was in her store probably more than any retail space in my life. I have always been amazed at how kind, patient, knowledgeable, and generous she is with clients. If you can't find a win at this store the problem is you! I have moved my business but will never stop the treasure hunt at Couture Revival. This store is fantastic! It is an upscale consignment boutique so it features high quality garments that do have a higher price tag than other stores. I was the most impressed with the quality and diversity of the clothing. While there I was able to meet the owner and speak with her and another customer. I was impressed by their positive attitudes and enjoyable conversation. I only wish I lived closer (I am in Michigan) because this would be a frequent stop. read more
