If I could give more stars I would. I recently bought several pieces of antique clothing at one of Dove Places Antiques' estate sales. Not only were the pieces some of the most lovely I've ever come across, but Robin was a joy to work with and her pricing was more than fair. Yesterday my wife and I biked over to an estate sale in San Rafael hosted by Dove Place Antiques. The items and family treasures for sale were clearly marked and beautifully organized. We really felt welcomed! When it was time to leave I thought I had searched everywhere, but I could not find my bike lock key. We were stuck! We went back inside to search. Robin and her team were so helpful! They looked with us. Just as I was ready to give up, Robin found the key on the bedroom floor. When we needed to sell hundreds of items from my mother-in-law's estate - from jewelry, to silver, to fine porcelain, china, etc. - they were so helpful. They came to our house, packed it up very carefully, set good prices, and took care of everything. All we had to do was relax - they got it done! They are very honest, and would call if something wasn't selling to see if we should soften the price or not. Robin would tell me about upcoming antique or jewelry shows where my mother-in-law's items that were still left would be seen. Because of all of their years in the business, they also have hundreds of contacts for selling any items they have, and actually recommended an auction house for a few things when they felt we could get a better price that way. I love Dove Place and what makes it so good is it's family run and Robin, Wayne and Matt have been over the top helpful. I lost both parents the last few years and my father was an organized "horder". 2,3, and 20 of practically every item. Antiques and photo's galore. It started years ago with the first horder my grandfather and now the coup de gras my Dad. My brother in law rented a U-haul for one drop off of Chinese Antiques that were stored for 40 years in a shed in the back of the house we grew up in. Not to mention the shop in the back yard of where we grew up with the old guns and swords, radio, ancient sewing machine and tapestry chairs with the carved wood backs. That's only a taste...then theres the place they lived with the workshop in the back... We had costume jewlery and non-costume jewlery in boxes from every deceased woman that was in the family lineage in boxes...the mahogany carvings, the cases of silverware, lamps, paintings, nudes etc. Needless to say...what a service they provide. She also did a 60/40 split on most of the items. Other places often a 50/50 split. They are honest and Robin showed me how to determine value of gold and silver and how to tell if items are sterling or not and how to find the worth based on the market value. I asked if I'm the largest provider of items and the largest family with horders they have seen and much or maybe not much to my surprise she said YES. Can you believe it the most!!. UGH no wonder we are all so tired in my family and still not completed yet. What allies thru the process of grieving, trying to run a practice and then clearing out the estate with siblings...Exhausting but they made it so much easier. The siblings are ready to fall over backwards too. read more

Robin and Wayne, who own and run business this business, provide exceptional service and care in selling your family treasures and collectibles. We had to liquidate some antiques and collectible and were not sure of the values for many of the items. Robin and Wayne did extensive research to determine exactly what we had, how much it could be worth and the best way to sell it. As a result of their efforts, we realized more than 10 times the price at which we were thinking of selling certain items. For example, we had a Tiffany style lamp that we thought would sell for maybe $800 or $900. We realized a sales price of over $15,000! Even lesser collectibles, such as vintage shaving mugs fetched prices of as much as $600 for a single mug! Robin and Wayne are very honest and they itemize their accounting for all sales. They are also not at all upset if you decide at the last minute you can't part with something and pull it back from sale. We had the good fortune to connect with Robin, Wayne and Matt Wechsler of Dove Place Antiques when we needed help in liquidating the entire contents of a family member's home. The Wechsler's response was immediate. The process began with a free in-home walk-thru and consultation. I am so glad there are still antique sellers who take the time to know the history behind their wares. This was only my second time visiting the shop, but I have really enjoyed talking with Robin about antique silver. You really get the sense that the pieces in Robin's store are entrusted to her by their owners or their families. I had a friendly welcome into the shop on both visits.
