To salvage the opportunity, the salesperson, Chris, texted me and offered to come the following day at noon instead, along with a 5% discount for the inconvenience. I rearranged my schedule twice to accommodate them during what was already an exceptionally difficult time, as I was preparing to say goodbye to my 16-year-old dog that weekend. Chris did arrive on Friday as promised, but a week has now passed and I have received neither a bid nor any follow-up communication from anyone at the company. Shortly after the appointment, their Thumbtack profile was also removed or hidden. While I can't say why, the timing was odd, as it prevented me from leaving a review on the platform where we originally connected. I've uploaded screenshots with this review documenting the interaction, including Chris's last-minute cancellation, his offer of a 5% discount, and the Thumbtack notification showing the company was no longer available on the platform. If reliability, communication, and follow-through are important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

The drainage tube was installed with the slope going the wrong direction, and the walls were not properly covered before the concrete was poured, leaving concrete splatter all over the side walls. The concrete also cracked less than three days after it was poured. It was poured on Monday morning, and on Wednesday the artificial turf guy was using a large plate compactor right next to the two-day-old concrete. I believe the vibration from that equipment contributed to the cracking. When I spoke with JC about the issue, he told me that concrete will crack sooner or later and that is why they do not warranty cracks. Concrete was poured directly on top of the soil, no gravel was brought first. While I understand that concrete can crack over time, I did not expect it to crack before I had even made my final payment. Despite my disappointment, I paid the remaining balance. After that, I never received any follow-up confirmation that the payment was received , or even a simple thank you.

After going through the process ourselves, I can absolutely see why they spoke so highly of the company. From the beginning, Byron made the design and estimating process feel very clear and professional. One thing I really appreciated was that he used an iPad on-site to draw out the design, calculate measurements, and price everything very accurately. It was not a vague "ballpark estimate" type of process -- it felt transparent, exact, and easy to visualize, which gave us a lot of confidence moving forward. Byron also helped us finalize the color choices, especially for the walkway, and his suggestions made a big difference in the final look. Roberto, who supervised the on-site construction work, was also excellent. He really listened to my concerns, took the time to discuss details with me, and most importantly followed through in the actual work without any issues. That meant a lot to me because I care about both design and functionality, and he handled both very well. Casandra in the office and Oscar as the business manager were also great throughout the process. The crew shows up on time and the site is thoroughly cleaned up each day. He also created documents to submit to our HOA for approval, and he was able to make changes quickly when needed. Victor and the crew were on time, efficient, and timely with the work. It was greatly appreciated that everything was washed down and cleaned by the crew at the end of each day. They were also able to make quick adjustments when our neighbor had some concerns with the hedges we wanted to plant. The scope of the work included adding a concrete pad, extending our concrete patio, planting privacy hedges with drainage and auto watering system, installing artificial grass with paver walkways, and adding pebbles along the exterior wall of our house. Since we have a soft watering system, we also had them install a separate line from the main. Overall, Caliscapes OC was professional, friendly, and accommodating. We even had one of the hedge plants not doing well. We reached out to Caliscapes OC to advise us on how to revive it, and they said they would replace it. We had to get a permit, and the city took forever because of limited appointments due to COVID. Carlos did his best to keep things moving along. It also took some time to get the materials. I think the price was reasonable for all the work that was done. Carlos checked in regularly, and made sure the job was progressing. After their process was explained to us, we felt comfortable that they would most likely do a good job. And, they did! Our patio looks great! The guys who did the job worked really hard and were meticulous. Due to weather issues, the job was delayed a few weeks. While unavoidable, that was disappointing. What made it a lot less frustrating was the very timely communication by Andrew, always keeping us updated on status. He was a real pleasure to work with. Our patio should look good for many years, but if we ever need resurfacing again, we would definitely use Infinity.

Ivan patiently consulted us on every available material: concrete, stamping, coloring, and many styles from different providers of concrete pavers. None really resonated with our vision. After a month of research we ended up selecting clay pavers for their traditional look and lasting quality. The problem was that no contractor in our area would even consider working with clay pavers. Initially Ivan also refused but with some prodding he actually agreed to install clay pavers and did an amazing job. The team would start consistently punctually at 7 am and worked full days. Ivan, the owner, would work on the job 100%, including operating the equipment and setting the pavers. The site was kept reasonably clean and the process was well organized. We love the results. Our house became the model for the street as a first house with pavers. Many people complimented on the improvements and expressed the desire to contract with Ivan's Masonry. Four days passed, and I still did not receive the written estimate or any update. I sent another follow-up message and received no response at all. The only positive part of my experience was communicating with their staff, Abigail. The person responding to my texts, who I believe was Abigail, was responsive and helpful whenever I reached out to the company's main number. Unfortunately, despite her responsiveness, I still had difficulty getting the information I needed from the technician assigned to my project. I understand that delays can happen, but timely communication and following through on commitments are important. Based on my experience, I was disappointed by the lack of responsiveness and would encourage the company to improve communication between their technicians and potential customers.

There was continuous and steady progress, and I usually was invited over each week to check on the progress of work. The project was well timed. The initial estimate was for around 5 months. It ended up taking 5 months and 3 weeks. The small delay was due to city permitting back-and-forth and weather, which all seemed understandable. The cost estimate was also quite accurate. We only went less-than-10% over, and generally due to things that we decided to upgrade partway through, or issues we discovered only after tearing open the walls. They also had a one year warranty on issues with the work, which they have honored with no hassle. Ultimately the company acts with integrity, and in this industry that's saying a lot.

I had been looking for a company to level the floor of my garage for some time. I had multiple people come over to the job site none of which were able to do the prep which for this job was a must. Incredibly frustrated I was online searching and saw Covalt Floor Leveling as an option. The photos on their page got me curious. I immediately called and spoke with a project manager who had me send photos. My floor was in terrible shape. Covered in glue from an underlayment that had been put on. I tried to remove some of it myself renting floor grinders from Home Depot. Nightmare!! I was put in touch with Tanner, who clearly knows his stuff, and he said they would take care of it . I said it was in pretty bad shape and he said "dont worry, we'll take care of it and get you where it needs to be." He quoted me a price, I sent over a deposit and I was on the schedule for two days later. (WHAT....?? Are you kidding me ???) I can only say I was grinning from ear to ear from the moment they unloaded and got to work. They are the kind of crew who is on a mission from the moment they arrive. These guys are literally the ones who coined the phrase "GET ER DONE !!" The floor was diamond ground with a vacumn system which meant no dust. Which when dealing with concrete is a must. There are not enough superlatives to write down on how the project went from start to finish. The prep work, which is so important with concrete was extraordinary. The product used for leveling was of the highest quality and the operation was clean, organized, efficient and of the beyond my expectations. In this day and age of searching endlessly to find high quality work... its still exists!!! Covalt is the premier floor leveling companyin the Los Angeles area. Why does YELP keep removing this review??? WHY DOES YELP KEEP REMOVING THIS REVIEW??? They do not answer, but they keep on removing the review. The business license was secured using fraudulent information. (false address so no one can ever sue him) He has no workers comp insurance, and has letter on file promising to never hire anyone to do work for him. (defrauding the government and you, the customer) His work does not meet the label or contract agreement..... (rather than correct the mistake, he files a false police report fraudulently claiming to be threatened) He does not like to take responsibility for his work, so he has yelp! hide the reviews because he says they do not meet the standards... (Martin's work does not meet any standards except his own delusions) The positive review are lies. Alec T brags about the work done by Martin Covalt, but admits that Martin messed up the first job, and gave Alec T about $50,000 in free work so Alec T would give him a positive review. The rest of the positive review are paid endorsements. This is why yelp! exists, to protect the public from frauds that the state of CA cannot and will not protect!!!!! After doing a thorough search for companies in this area, I selected Covalt flooring for my project. I chose Covalt because they have been in business for over 30 years and are the experts in this area. I also wanted a company with an excellent reputation working on my project. From my first discussion with Martin, I felt at ease. I also needed the work done immediately as I was only in town for a few more days. He was very accommodating and he had someone out to estimate and complete the project by the end of the week! The work was excellent, on-time, and with great customer service and follow-up . I recently used Covalt Floor Leveling to resurface and repair the concrete slab in our offices in Los Angeles. The company was very professional. They initially came out and inspected the project, spending quite a bit of time with me going over their product and the details of how the would repair the concrete floor. After receiving the written quote and specifics on what repairs would be made from the project estimator, I decided to go with them. The resurfaced slab turned out very nice as they outlined it would. The work did take one extra half of a day to complete. I had a great experience with Covalt. After pulling up carpeting to put in Luxury Vinyl Planking it was determined that my flooring was not even close to being level. I was under a time constraint and totally freaking out. I started googling businesses and found Covalt. They were able to come out the next day. Moses and Anthony were awesome! Martin, the owner, was also very helpful and calmed me down. They did have to come back to sand down some high areas but my floor was beautiful and level and the vinyl planking is perfect. Onecovalt flooring did a great job on leveling the floors in a condo that my wife and I had just bought,the floors had low spots of about 3/4".We wanted to install wood floors but the floor problem had to be addressed first,Onecovalt repaired the concrete floors so that we could proceed with the remodel. We are very pleased with Covalt Floor Leveling repaired our uneven foundation cement floor, so that we could have a new hardwood floor put down. The cement floor was cracked and unlovely, so we called them for an estimate. They came out and looked over the project and went over the repair method with us in detail. Waterproofing was found to be necessary during the sale of the property through the Buyer's home inspection. Andrew and his team were amazing and worked very quickly through multiple days in heavy rain. They helped me meet a very shortened completion timeline I had and went above and beyond the scope of work in the contract by putting on a more expensive product than the contract called for and putting on an extra coat of waterproofing to get an extended 15 year warranty from the manufacturer. I obtained bids from 4 different waterproofing and foundation contractors for the job and Elite Structural was the cheapest of the 4 and also did not charge anything to bid the project. Andrew was very communicative and sent pictures through each phase of the process. In the end they left the job site cleaner than they found it, pressure washed the entire area and painted areas that needed touching up from the excavation process. I will be using Andrew and his team for any future projects and highly recommend them if you are in need of an expert in this niche field that won't take advantage of you and will truly go out of their way to help.

We hired OConsulting because we wanted to remodel our kitchen, laundry room and living room. Our…read moreremodel design included removing (2) walls and adding (2) windows in the kitchen, expanding the laundry room, and raising a sunken conversation pit in the living room. Upon initial contact we emailed details of our project and then had a video conference with Fredy and Nanak to discuss the project in more detail along with their services. A contract for the work was issued and signed and Fredy came out for a site visit to begin. Structural and mechanical engineered plans were then developed with a set of preliminary drawings for our review. We discussed a few adjustments we wanted to be made to the design and then finalized the design details. A stamped set of mechanical and structural engineered plans were issued and submitted to the city via OConsulting on our behalf for the city's review and approval. The engineering and plans were so well done that the only request the city had were minor verbiage to be added to the front page of the plans indicating wind speed of the area, that the property is within an HOA and that no oil drilling is located on the property. With the addition of the specified verbiage to the plans the city then approved the stamped set of plans and the building permit was successfully issued. Our experience with Fredy and Nanak at OConsulting was a pleasant experience. Both Fredy and Nanak were personally a pleasure to work with. They answered all of our questions, listened well to our design goals and vision, were attentive to our project and because of their highly skilled knowledge and skillset they made it possible for us to proceed with beginning construction on our remodel. We are very pleased and grateful for the professionalism of the service we were provided with and are very happy to recommend OConsulting.
