I called Covalt Floor Leveling after a local company refused to do the job. I sent photos and they responded quickly with information they could complete the project and in one day! The price was reasonable so I authorized the work. Tanner showed up, by himself, and proceeded to lug multiple bags, (up two flights of stairs), of a product he said would fill-in over three inches of space between areas of the floor that had settled. Sure enough the product did its job after it was installed perfectly. Tanner even coated other uneven areas of the floor that were not necessarily in the quote. We decided to have new laminate floors installed in 3 rooms of our house by the Home Depot. After moving most of my furniture outside, and removing the old carpet, the floor installers told me that my concrete slab needed leveling and crack repairs before they could install the laminate. They also informed me that I would need to find someone to do the concrete repair because it was not a service they provided?? So, while worrying about my furniture being outside in the weather, I started searching online for a company to do the work. I found several to choose from but Covalt's website looked so much more professional than the others I decided to give them a call first. I spoke with Tanner and after sending him a few photos and the square footage measurement needing to be done he was able to snd me an estimate right away. Not having any idea what to expect cost wise, I was totally surprised to see how much it was going to cost. Thinking that I could not afford it, I decided to get another estimate. The other company told me they would have to come and do an inspection before giving me a cost and since the inspection was free I decided to take a shot. Well, the inspector from that company was very nice and seemed knowledgable, but, when all was said and done his estimate was over $3,000 more than Covalt's! So, I called Tanner back and thankfully he was able to schedule me within one week, knowing that my furniture was outside. Tanner and his helper showed up early on the scheduled day, looked over the job site and told me what and how they were going to get it done. The two of them worked non-stop grinding, filling all the cracks and then pouring and floating their special material until the floors were perfectly flat. After a couple hours of drying they re-checked their work to address any remaining hi spots. The floors came out really nice and level... I have to tell you, my inclination that these guys were good after browsing their website was absolutely correct. They are super professional, and know exactly how to do what they are doing. On top of that, Tanner is a really great guy to work with. If you are needing any kind of floor leveling, Covalt is the best. read more

I used Covalt Floor Leveling for a project of mine in Dana Point. The second floor of this home was out of level by 1-1/4" from front to back. In order for the hardwood flooring to be level - we had Covalt come in and level the upstairs before we layer the hardwood. The guys did a great job installing and were very careful with the new drywall that was hung. Everything was completed and my flooring sub came in and laid the floor. Unfortunately I have to update my review of Covalt. After two successful small projects, I contracted to level the rest of my house ~1800 sq ft. Apparently too large for Covalt. There were localized undulations up to 1" within 3-4'. Tiling contractor had to re-pour 1/4 of the family room. Pictures sent to the company met with "we'll get back to you". After spending a total of nearly 30k total for the 3 projects, I had to spend thousands to fix it. Why 2* and not 1*? The early smaller projects were fine so, to be fair, I could give 1*, but if you have a larger project, go elsewhere. read more

Covalt Floor leveling helped me immediately with a time sensitive issue smack in the middle of a new flooring installation. My upstairs landing, hall and two of the bedrooms had leveling issues preventing a successful floor installation. In my case, the builder placed a support beam a little too high for the subfloor (second level) which is above my garage. You barely notice it with carpet but with hardwood, laminate or vinyl, was a definite issue and much more noticeable. Not to mention a professional floor installer would not want to guarantee their work with this issue. Have you ever walked on a flooring and felt a little hump?? I have but never knew why. Now I suspect it was a leveling issue with the subfloor or foundation. Tanner was "Johnny on the spot", he came over within a day to see the issue. The next day, normally his day off, he showed up early and worked tirelessly for hours to pour a lightweight fast drying cement and leveled out the problem areas. I would not trust a job like this to anyone not extremely experienced in doing this type of work. It isn't as easy as it sounds and leveling is crucial. My flooring project is now progressing with the confidence that this can be a long term successful installation. Don't leave this step out if needed, you can have serious problems later with your flooring. I highly recommend Covalt Floor Leveling!! I needed to pour a 3/8" average self-leveling across a little over 800 square feet of wood subfloor. They gave me pricing via email based on my measurements, but they had not come out to the house. The pricing was at the top of what I really wanted to pay and about in line with another company that had come out to the job to give me a bid. I took precise measurements with a laser measuring tool, but wanted Covalt to come out to get their own numbers so the pricing didn't go up on me out of nowhere when they came to do the job. After a couple of weeks of back and forth emailing to try to get them to come out and measure, I was finally able to get them out to the house. Their measurements came in 60-something square feet above mine (their guy was rough measuring holding his laser against his body rather than precisely measuring off of a surface), and the price that came in jumped 43% above the previous quote from them before I asked them to come out. I would have liked to work with Covalt as the more local company, but I could not justify the new pricing. I also received a much more personalized explanation of material options and what would take place in the process from the other company (Quality Floor Leveling), so I will likely hire them. When inquiring about why the bid jumped so much, the reply was fairly short - I got the impression that my job was not really of interest to them. I think their focus is on larger commercial jobs, and these sub $10,000 residential jobs are not really worth their time, which I totally get. read more
