We had a good experience with Covan this time around. Our team was great! They were prompt, hard-working, friendly, and even patient with my toddler who was fascinated by their process. Each day, they arrived when they were supposed to, worked their tails off while they were there, and treated our family and our property with respect. They were done packing a day early, too! From the start, the Military goofed up and didn't schedule our date. When we had to scramble and push for getting to done ASAP, they were entirely accommodating (in spite of the fact that the error was not their fault) and helped if every way they could to help us get done on-time. I worked late last night didn't get to bed until 3am and our neighbor across the street is moving so naturally all I've been hearing for two hours is bang bang bang like someone is slamming a damn car door repeatedly look out front and it's covan world wide moving how nice of people to consider those who work late read more

This was absolutely the worst moving experience we've ever had. They came in to pack our house and we're throwing their dirty poke bowl containers and empty water bottles together with our stuff that was getting packed, and said that those boxes were trash. To our surprise, we checked these boxes and at the bottom was our stuff. We were lucky to catch that. They also took apart all of our furniture, and threw screws and furniture legs in a random box. We pray our items can be put back together. They only took inventory on the last day after all boxes were packed, so there's no indication of what was packed inside the boxes. We are still waiting for our stuff to arrive and we are bracing ourselves for what we are going encounter when our items arrive. To top things off, the movers overflew our toilet with packing paper after I had finished cleaning the bathroom. This was a total nightmare of an experience. So their Hawaii office packed us out for a military move on orders. It was a nightmare from the start! The packers didn't tell me their names (there was 4 of them) I was alone as my husband was away at a training. First day they were only there for an hour. Second day they never came (I guess I told them it was okay which I didn't) what was supposed to be the third and final day my house was barely packed when I had to leave to ship my car. I had to have them leave and they had to come back on a Saturday. 4th day comes around (mind you we were scheduled for only 3 days) only two show up and finish my pack out. Well fast forward to us getting our belongings due to "peak season" took over a month! We are unloading and come to find out the packers STOLE yes STOLE our Samsung R650 sound system! (See pictures of it in use and the box upon arrival) I TOLD the packers to put the sound system in the ORIGINAL BOX. Well they packed the box empty! It arrived at our home empty and broken! They also DIDNT list this item on the inventory or tag the box! I called the Hawaii office from San Diego (our new duty station) and reported it to the general manager and he opened an investigation. I also followed all needed steps for a claim! Hopefully we get the money back to replace it. If I could give 0 stars I would. This company was hired for my military move from Korea to Arizona in 2021. They delivered around 4 boxes of items and then the entire rest of the moving crate was not my stuff. They stated they lost my crates. Several months of back and forth before they found my crates in Portugal. Company then tried to pay me $2k for all my items explaining "Portugal is a hard place to ship from". My stuff should've never been in Portugal to begin with! Worst PCS experience I've had. If I could give negative stars I would. I don't know how they're contracted by DOD. Shout out to Covan for breaking 85% of my things. All of my TVs are broken, additionally they didn't wrap things properly so all my furniture and clothes are covered in black mold. To start off they were 2 hours late to pack & left one guy to pack my whole house from 1100 to 10 PM. Finally a crew showed up including a couple what seemed to be kids (not sure) pack my things. They asked if they could stay after hours until midnight to finish. I said sure so it could get done.... They didn't leave my house until 4AM. If I knew it was gonna be that late I would've said no come back tomorrow but it was already 3/4 of the way done. They left all their trash outside/inside my house. Our crates should've been covered properly and they weren't. Finally, when the company at our new installation was re assembling what was left of our furniture they couldn't find any of the hardware and neither could we. This left us in a house with furniture that can't even be assembled. This is the most unprofessional moving company I've ever dealt with. If you get Covan scheduled to pack your belongings you might as well kiss them goodbye. read more

I wish the Army would really put more efforts into moving families because this adds more stress to an already stressful event. We were scheduled to be packed over the course of four days and the company only sent one guy for two days, both times were after 1PM. They didn't show up for two days. No calls or anything to let us know, so we were stuck waiting on them all day until I called to ask WTF was going on. My family and I were like hostages dealing with them because we were stuck at the house waiting and not wanting to miss them if they showed up. When ever I called I would get the run around. We wound up getting our house packed a day after we initially had scheduled. They showed up at 1100 am and we didn't finish until 230 am the next morning. They made our last week in Hawaii a complete nightmare. If you have a choice, don't put yourself through the pain of dealing with this company. read more

I've moved 4 times in the military. First three were ahead of schedule AND everything delivered in perfect to bear perfect condition. Covan.... it took them a week longer to move my goods half way across the country than it took another company to move my stuff internationally. They postponed 4 times. Not a problem. I'm patient. I can deal. One of the times might have even been legit, truck broke. But I only found out about the postponements only because I called them to make sure we were still on track instead of the other way around. I found out about the truck breaking down the DAY it was supposed to be delivered and it was still two days away. Seriously? It gets better. I asked for the simplest thing. Deliver in the morning. This was only because of the postponing, I couldn't hold off getting my career started at risk of losing it. Afternoons required my presence for my new career. Any day would have worked but instead they chose to deliver in the afternoon anyway. Put me in a huge bind. Made me scramble with my job or face a charge to my wallet and move myself when they put it in storage. The saving grace... when you talk to them on the phone, they're very professional and patient. When you get the ball rolling, they're all over it. But why is the customer getting the ball rolling for them. Day they showed up. Omfg they showed up late, unprofessional, and had my crap intermingled with someone else's stuff saying it all was mine. I could have walked away with easily 30k worth of someone else's life. I had to personally sift through everything and separate out what didn't belong to me. Talk about an exercise in trust. -Proactive communication leaves things to be desired. -Timeliness leaves things to be desired. -working around the customers schedule when the company was late instead of making the customer scramble or sacrifice after a weeks worth of said customer making a simple request.... leaves things to be desired. -professionalism? When you unpack a box and find out the packers deliberately broke your Air Force wreath into 4 pieces and then packed the pieces inside a box. Angry doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feeling right now. When I removed a pack of newborn diapers from this box, I saw my wreath broken with each piece laying in a different direction packed neatly at the bottom of the box. Which means it was broken and then packed into the box not broken during shipment. Being a military family is hard. Yes it's a reliable job and has many benefits. However that doesn't make it easy. It's hard on our children who have to give up everything they know and move every 2-3yrs and start all over again. Yes things are just things. But to a child when they arrive to an unknown town, in an unknown house and an unknown room, their belongings are what they recognize and comfort them with familiarity. They shouldn't have to open boxes of their things that have been broken due to negligence. During this move from Hawaii to Texas I have cried three times while unpacking items. It wasn't the broken coffee table glass, or the 4 dressers they broke nor the broken and bent bookshelves. It was my kids reading books shoved into drawers bent in half and pages torn, their ceramic piggy banks shoved into their dresser drawers with no packing paper, broken from the long journey and my Air Force wreath which was a Christmas gift from my sister on our last Christmas together before we moved from San Antonio. The disrespect of our belongings by these contracted packers breaks my heart. Why were you never taught to respect other people and their belongings??? I know we are not the only ones who have had to deal with awful moving companies that the military contracts out to the lowest bidder. It's pretty much a guarantee that you'll have broken items on a long journey from Hawaii to Texas. But to deliberately have your items broken before they even begin the journey is downright rude and uncalled for. If you have a contract with Covan World-Wide please do NOT let them pack your stuff. They emptied our dressers and then shoved the dressers full of our household items without wrapping them. They didn't use packing paper on our kitchen items even after my husband asked them repeatedly to wrap them and asked for someone else to pack the kitchen. They loaded our bookshelves full of household items and then wrapped them with paper so they were bent and broken when they arrived. They didn't pack our glass correctly and we ended up with broken glass tables and shelves. They don't care about you or your belongings. read more

Almost all of our large furniture items suffered damage or were completely ruined upon arrival. They showed up for only a few hours the first day, the second day they showed up at around 5 pm after being told our window was 8-10 am. I had to convince the agency that they needed to send a extra people for a full day on the last day of pack out in order to get us packed out on time. They continued to push back, but it took all day the next day with 3-5 workers for them to complete the job by 6 pm. We were leaving off the island the next day. The movers asked us to take apart the furniture-which they are supposed to do themselves and continually asked if things we were clearly moving were going and acted annoyed when we said yes. They had my husband carrying stuff downstairs for them, and asked me at 7 months pregnant to take apart furniture "to speed up the move". I would never recommend this company to anyone, I would recommend all military families put this company on the do not want list. read more

I have never been in such disbelief with a company before. Nightmare. -Packed our kitchen not wrapping one plate or cup. Throwing them all in one box and then tossing in the cookbooks on top. Totally spiraled as if they were just thrown in. -Forgot the plasma TV box the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd day so our TVs were just wrapped in paper, (One being worth over $1,500) and then placed in the truck completely unsafe. -Brought only one queen size bag for a mattress when they knew we had 2 queens with box springs, and 1 king with box spring. -Left one person each day to pack until the last day they gave us 2. All of them started around 10-11am and didn't leave till 6-7pm each day. -2 on their phones and taking multiple breaks besides the group the last day, the last day crew did the most and were the only ones I had the least complaints of. -Packed all of our perishable food items when we told them to only pack the canned food items. -Asked if they could have our left over opened liquor bottles. -Broke our shed door by forcing it open the incorrect way. -Forgot tools 3 days in a row to take apart our dining room table. On the last day they had to leave to go get them from a different crew and come back. -Only saving grace was the attitudes. Crew lead working the last day with guy who had only been working there for 2 weeks were the best ones and worked the hardest. -Military really needs to get them off their contract. They will be spending more on reimbursing broken/lost items than what the bid was for initially. -If you have no say in your moving company and you get Covan, be sure to watch their every move. Make sure inventory is taken and sealed stickers are put on crates. Double check cabinets and all rooms for forgotten items. Our sealed stickers were flying off from their driving. Pack your sentimental items or really important items yourself or take them with you. read more

I can't describe how poorly our items were packed. Every box I've opened has had broken items due to poor packing process. Also, we had a partial delivery, so we have mattresses, but no complete bed frames, tables without legs, no living room furniture, etc. -We had kitchen plates stacked 8-10 deep with ZERO paper in between the plates, as an example. I've had 13 military moves, and this is, by far the worst experience. Lastly, we didn't know we were receiving a partial delivery until the driver arrived. When we contacted the agent office, they had no driver on the schedule to deliver our living furniture, etc. Who knows how long this punishment is going to last... *I've made 14 moves in my 28 year military career, never have I seen this level of "give a shit" in my life. Never again with COVAN, the claim will be horrid and painful I expect. read more

Covan did my packout over the course of 4 days. Each day they dropped off 1 guy. The first guy worked very hard and packed almost 80% of the house by himself. The next day another guy packed some more of the house and then moved all the packed boxes down to the garage for easier loading on the truck. On third day three 4 guys showed up and finished packing and loaded everything into crates. The only reason they had to come back the 4th day is because they ran out of room on the truck. All the guys were very polite, they packed our living room last so we got to use out couch and tv longer. One guy did accidentally poke a hole in our ceiling but when you are moving large furniture items some accidents are expected to happen and in my opinion are understandable. I would recommend these guys and would use them again. read more

Cannot recommend you stay away from this company enough. If you're military and you see they've selected Covan as your moving coordinator, be very afraid. After promising an end of May delivery for a wine shipment, the date was changed to NLT June 30. As of today, I got a email notification that the shipment wasn't ready, and they had no idea when it would be. My Italian wines that my wife and I went to pains to select are currently sitting in a metal crate on ship without climate control. Thanks to their abysmal practices and incompetence with shipping a product like wine, I'm sure to have a $2000 vinegar collection. Thanks for nothing, Covan. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This Company is the absolute WORST! Moving back from Hawaii they broke so many things, including a custom Koa wood wall hanging! They just threw stuff into random boxes ie my wedding dress with books, bathroom decor, and a box with random items in it. They told us they would be there at 9, and were on time but they left at 1pm, second day they left about 12:30 and the third day they left at 2 and this was for a 3 day pack out. In the second day out of no where we had 3 additional people show up and that's when chaos took over. We tried to monitor but there were too many people, they were running around the house throwing things in boxes. We are still missing items and it has been a month since we PCSed. It started off with they Changed the date to 30th with less than 24 notice when the original date was the 4th Didn't call ahead for a estimated time Showed up late Left the screen door open letting the AC out and letting in a lot of flys Never introduced themselves We're rude 3 guys showed up and 2 of them immediately left to "do another job" so there was only one person to pack the house. (Just the kitchen) Said they would only pack the kitchen and nothing else until the come back on the 3rd. When asked to double check I looked and he hadn't even touch 4 drawers He moved boxes immediately in front of the dish washer so I couldn't unload it. The guy asked me if I wanted to let my dog out of his crate and I said I wasn't sure if you guys like dogs or not and that my dog was friendly but he can be hyper at first. Then he says well you can wait until I leave the house. Umm I'm glad you think I need your permission to let my dog out in his own house. Asked me to check the kitchen but everything is blocked so I couldn't and the boxes are too heavy for me to move. Checked the kitchen he missed all the drawers, a few cabinets, dish washer and stuff on the fridge. He Walked outside and didn't say anything to me. He's been sitting outside waiting on a ride for over a hour. Looked like he went outside to play with himself, I could be wrong but I have a video. After calling to complain the first time after sitting outside for over a hour he walks in and rudely says you called front office?! Then walked away huffing and puffing. Then another guy who wasn't in the original crew showed up and introduced himself and got to work packing as much as he could. I walked past the guy who had been here the whole time that was packing the towel closet and was mad still huffing and puffing. While he worked on the tiny towel closet the other guys pack most of all my sons room. The three other guys who left in the beginning came back, barged in the house. Didn't say anything again then as soon as he walked in the house rudely told my 2 year old son to move! I went upstairs to ask the guy who didn't come with the original crew who was in charge. He told me the driver. So I went downstairs and asked one of the guys 4 times and kept saying excuse me because I wanted to ask him who the driver was and he pointed to the wall and said him. He didn't point to a actual person. Then I went into the other room to ask the other two. He told me he was the driver and then walked past me to go outside. I followed him out and said excuse me I need to talk to you. I told him about how I was mad especially when the guy yelled at my 2 year old. I told him I've dealt with two moving company's and they were amazing but they were the rudest people I've ever dealt with. He said "sorry but if the guys don't talk it's because they're tired because they're super busy today." Last time I checked it's not my fault that they called us a few days early and changed the date and didn't tell us with a less than 24 hour notice. They were the ones who chose to do that. Then he walked off. He went inside and said something in another language which they did a lot of and made me feel uncomfortable. With all that was going on I wouldn't put it past them that they would be talking bad about us. After that I decided to take Ryan to the park because I was livid. Then I got a message from my neighbor saying "If your gate is fucked up its because I literally just watched both of them kick it when they walked through" That's when I called the manager and told him everything. He said he was sorry and had a supervisor come over. And that he would have another crew come out next week. Then shortly after I got off the phone the crew said they would call it a day and be back on Tuesday to finish. The supervisor never showed up. When the crew left they left boxes everywhere, paper, tape, dollies, and the clip board. DMO says they can't give us new movers because of some new government policy. If you get stuck with covan world wide moving I feel bad for you! I can only hope we really do get a new crew next week and it goes a lot better. read more

Zero stars actually. They no showed the first day. The second day (they promised to show up with a full crew and "focus on our move") they showed with 3 guys and then left one guy and took the truck. They worked until 1140pm (my husband slept on a couch because beds and blankets were already packed, while I took two over tired kids to temporary lodging). Third day, they had two guys working, no truck to be found to load into. They said thy would be done by three, and then told my husband 9pm. When we had our walkthrough with them they said 8-5pm. My husband and I are both in the military, and unfortunately, this is who was contracted to move our home. I called the day before to get the window in which they were supposed to show up. I was told between 12 and 5. I was home all day, when i had many other things to be doing, and finally when they still hadn't showed up at 4:45, I called to find out why. The guy said he'd call me back after he got in touch with the driver. He called back about ten minutes later to tell me that they had some emergency pack out and weren't going to be at my house for another hour to an hour and a half. A call letting me know this would've been nice. Then when they arrived, at 6:30 they complained about having to pack out my entire kitchen. Mind you, that was the only thing left because it was the express shipment. Then, on the way out the door, he sat the dolly up and dumped all of the boxes off of it that had my dishes in it. His response was, "oops! Haha." Then to top it off, they didn't have a crate to pack my things in, so it all got packed in to the side of the truck with everyone else's crap. But I still had to initial the seals that they were going to put on my crate when they got to the warehouse. How the hell am I supposed to trust/believe that everything made it into my crate when they sealed it up at the warehouse instead of in front of me like they were supposed to? I hope that the mil realizes what a god awful company this is and doesn't renew this contract. What a colossal waste of money. read more

Missing several items, one box full of stuff didn't even arrive, expensive jewelry and perfume appeared to be stolen.

If I could, I would give them no stars. We had our pre pack inspection and at that time we went over certain high value items that would need special packaging. We had a regular surfboard that would need a crate as well as a metal surfboard art piece that is one of a kind and can not be replaced. In addition, we had electronics, high value liquor and collectables that we pointed out and asked that they be handled with care. The gentleman informed us that it would take 3 full days to pack and load our house. On the first packing day, the packers showed up around lunch time and promptly left to go get lunch. When they came back, I asked about the special packing materials needed for the art and the surfboard and they had no clue what I was talking about. They said they would bring it with the next day. So day 2, again they arrive around lunch time and instead of crates for the 2 big items, they bring BUBBLE WRAP and tape! I was told they would put it in a crate before loading it on the truck. So at 5:30 pm the crew cleans up and tells us they will be back in the morning to finish packing and load the truck. Day 3, they don't show up until around lunch again. They promptly tell me they will need an extra day which is not possible as we are leaving island the very next day. So they call in for back up. At this point we have 11 movers at our house grabbing stuff and loading it in the truck. I completely lost track of who and what is where. When checking on the loading of the truck, I see them pushing and shoving my large tool box into the truck up against household items. Needless to say, the tool box is completely destroyed, my surfboard is as just thrown into one of the crates with garage items and my high value art piece is now bent and chipped. I will be filing a claim but as they are contracted with the government to move other military families, I would advise anyone who is assigned them as their moving company to monitor all progress closely and don't let them take anything that is high value unless it is properly protected and packaged first. read more

Horrible service! Disassembled a full size whiskey barrel, THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DISASSEMBLED. We have about 2 pages worth of stuff that was broken in transit, some of it irreplaceable. They failed to drop off multiple boxes of household goods then when contacted about it they did not know what I was referring too. After an investigation into what happened and over a month after the original delivery we finally received the boxes that were missing. Horrible service all around. Only good thing was the driver who was kind and courteous. Will definitely never use this company again. read more

The truck showed up and then dropped off just one guy to help with my pack out and then the truck just left. Single mover was incredibly uptight, vulgar(would start rapping explicit rap songs out of nowhere), and very uncommunicative. After my household goods were finally packed up, I had to wait four hours for the truck to return while the creepy mover played candy crush on his phone. This company probably doesn't care about providing quality service due to the fact the government contracts them and could careless if Covan provides any decent service. read more

If it were possible to give no stars I would. I have never left a bad review for anyone because I'm not a complainer but this is by far the worst PCS move I've ever experienced. Where do I even begin? Day one.. We were given no time line. And around 11am a very nice man came and was left all in his own to pack out our house of 6 kids and 2 adults. This was a 3 day job but the poor guy was all alone. We only had him for 5 hours and in that time he only managed part of our garage and a very small part of the dining room. Day 2.. Only 2 guys show up.. They're looking around the house all mad that this is only a 3 day job.. Oh I forgot to mention they didn't even roll in till 2pm. They were literally all over the place starting rooms then stopping. Which was extra annoying when it came to the kitchen. I asked them to finish the kitchen asap because then at least I could cook for my family with my loaner stuff. But no.. Half packed kitchen.. Day three they don't even bother to go into the kitchen which I again asked to be finished oh and they showed up at like 3pm still upset about not having enough time. And they extended dour 3 day pack to a 4 day pack. They began using our mp3 speaker system in master bedroom so loud it was blowing out the speaker. And they were texting and playing on their phones and changing songs on their phones more than working. Kitchen still not done.. Day 4 of our 3 day move they show up at 11am.. Same two slow ass guys.. Then around 3PM an army of moving end show up and the move went from zero to 60 in 1.2 seconds. This basically created mass chaos. Yelling and stuff everywhere and my kitchen which we had all arranged on the first day that was half packed started getting put in boxes so quickly and the off limits areas packed up before we could stop anyone.. And the language barrier made it very difficult. And no as we speak it is 4:45 pm. We are supposed to have our unaccompanied baggage packed out today. No one is here. No one at all. I have children to feed. I have to be checked in toy hotel and NO ONE IS HERE. I've had many PCS moves in my life. They all have their issues.. But this is by far the absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. And I'm sure I'll be writing another one when we open our crates and discover just how badly these things were packed.
