We just realized they serve breakfast and lunch here! Love all the outdoor seating especially for ice cream season. It was too cold so everyone was inside which made it a bit crowded and loud but the food was good. My mom ordered the veggie omelette and. That was the only thing that was not good. I mean who puts carrots and zucchini as the vegetables in an omelette. It was pretty terrible. I wish she had asked what vegetables they were going to use before ordering. read more

This was our first visit here and this is a review on their ice cream. The place also serves up breakfast and lunch. Their ice cream comes from Leiby's Dairy and they probably had around 20 flavors. You can also get shakes and sundaes as well. My son went with a butterscotch shake, which had a nice consistency--not too thick and not too thin. I went with Cookies & Cream. There's seating inside as well as plenty of seating outside on picnic tables. Looks like they periodically do a movie night as we saw that advertised while we were there. *review for restaurant only* Came around 11 on a Sunday. The restaurant wasn't too full. Ordered soup and a sandwich. Soup took about 10 minutes and the sandwich took 30. The service was friendly, but the speed left something to be desired. When I inquired about if it's normally that long of a wait for food, the cashier said they just started doing DoorDash orders, so that was what the wait was for. Went here with my dad a few months ago. We were going to get ice cream and I did not expect to have some of the best strawberry ice cream in all of America. Stayed at a motel, went to the launder and then thought about ice cream. A great benefit of being an Ag campus! I was there in early April looking to purchase ice cream1/2 gallons and I was told I could order them and it takes about three or four days that's wonderful! Pottstown, Pa., is an interesting old city. We dropped into it late in the afternoon after a day in the heat of French Creek State Park and Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. I was feeling the effects of the 90F temp, and needed hydration and a little nourishment. First choice was a tour of Yuengling Brewery, but I had confused Pottsville with Pottstown, and would have been too late anyway. (Should have looked further and found Sly Fox Brewery, but that will have to wait.) Second choice was to find the nearest dairy bar and settle in for some fresh cool creamy ice cream and a burger. Yelp Search found Coventry Parlor at Laurel Locks, not 10 minutes away from Main Street. Not too many reviews, but a little more pioneering today wouldn't hurt. Actually in Coventry Township, the Laurel Locks refer to both the canal built there to connect with the Schuylkill River canal system, and the large farm that took root there in the early 18th Century. Another little remembered historic fact was that this area was the home of the a small religious sect called the Stubblebines, whose moral code allowed nudity and cohabitation; giving this locale the name, "Free Love Valley," in the early 19th Century. It all got out of control, with murder and jealousy rampant. The group died out by the mid 1800's, when self- proclaimed prophet, Hannah Williamson, caught the last wagon train out of town heading west. So, we settled on a couple of burgers and split a Cashew Raspberry Shake. The shake was thick with nuts and ice cream, and was quite refreshingly creamy sweet. The burgers were something else. Past well done, they were crunchy and almost beyond redemption. I was too weary to bring it to the server's attention. It came with store bought bun, cheap chips (not even Herr's), and a soft pickle. If not for affording the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of this community, I would have departed disappointed by the grub here. I just won't look past the front retail ice cream shop next time, should that come to pass. read more

We tried out the breakfast here the other day. I can't comment on the ice cream but the breakfast was a bit disappointing. The omelet was ok. It has a good portion of veggies and tasted fine. The cream chipped beef was too heavy on the flour. It's taste was a bit off and the color was slightly grey. The LBE breakfast came with pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. The pancakes were very dense and tasted like they didn't mix the batter correctly. Everything else was ok. The server was a young girl and was very pleasant. Overall it wasn't horrible but neither great. I will try it again for the ice cream which looked wonderful but not for the breakfast. read more

I am pretty sure that I was not served because I was black in this parlor. It was so sad because I usually stop here whenever I'm in town. I just left the parlor after I was in line and another couple standing behind me and was served first. I said hi as soon as I seen it and the boy who serving the people behind me just looked at me and kept working with them. He hadn't even scooped anything and could have easily let them know I was there first. I was way in front of them and the couple knew I was there first and just completely allowed it. I was baffled because there were multiple people there walking around and not serving anyone else while working but nobody acknowledged me or tried to help. Eventually a girl came over but I was so upset I left. It is sad that in 2021 I can still get treated like that. I was the only black face in and out of the parlor and I knew that I couldn't get upset there because I would be an angry black girl. Micro aggressions like this happen every day. I can't believe that I was purposely ignored by all of the staff in there except the one girl after speaking out and I received not one apology. I will never go there again. I recommend all people who are mistreated at a business to not give them your hard earned dollars. read more

My mom and I have been bringing my kids here the past 6+ years without issue for brunch. Today on our way out we were told by a waitress- not an owner or management- that my ONE YEAR OLD needs to practice her indoor voice because customers complained about her and how loud she was. My daughter was behaved like any other day we come to eat there. Needless to say we didn't pay to eat there as a family to appease other strangers. I also invite anyone to go try to reason with a one year old and see how far you get. If you hate kids don't go eat at a seat yourself establishment that serves ice cream to- you guessed it- KIDS and families. We will be sure to no longer give our business and express to others children are apparently not tolerated to eat there. Unprofessional. read more

We love this little place which happens to be a quick 2 minute drive from our house! :) The outdoor seating is awesome in nicer/warmer weather and the indoor seating is great any time of year! The parlor has expanded their menu to include far more than just awesome ice cream and you can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner items whenever you visit. It was only about a year ago that I discovered the Coventry Parlor was also a great breakfast place. I've been there many times for breakfast (occasionally lunch) and have found the meals to be great and affordable each time. They have a nice selection of specials that are changing regularly as well which keeps things interesting. I like that it's small and off the beaten path but if they keep up the good service and food, they are going to get busier! If you want a solid meal for a small price, this is your spot. read more
