I'm a big fun of unique pizza offerings and the tomato pie at Corrpolese qualifies as a unique pizza offering. it's a cheeseless pie (a really big one!) generally served at room temperature. We picked up one delivered by Corropolese in Allentown, PA and it served a decent sized family for 2 days. The crust is sort of almost kind of Chicago-y in that it's mildly butter-crusty. (Yeah I just made up a bunch of descriptive words, but you know what I mean. I thought it was good and better than most "regular" pizza restaurant offerings...though I enjoyed it more when I added mozzarella to the top and heated it up in the toaster oven. My goodness. It's so exhausting going into a place that was once a friendly atmosphere. The woman behind the counter is flat out rude. Yelled about not having a glove to get the baccala but there were no gloves. So we just grabbed the top piece. I even showed her there were no gloves. I also looked for them because I didn't want to touch it with my bare hands. So I let my husband do it. It's one thing to be informative but her tone is unnecessary. Then we walk to go to register thinking they will eat it and she says "I know you are in a rush but I still have to weigh it out." No rush here at all. She needs to get a grip! Today I tried their Italian hoagie and it was great!! Probably one of the best ive had in the area, good size, quality, and price. I've been in here a few times and will continue to return. The counter people are a little indifferent, but I've spent a lot of time at delis in NYC where indifference is an art form. Overall, I don't have a problem with them. They're efficient and business-like. Perhaps a little more warmth could be forthcoming. I like their rye bread and I like that they stock pancetta. Thought I'd give them another try after my bad experience a few months ago. Seems like things have only gotten worse. I ordered a tuna sandwich which has gone up about three dollars in price since three months ago. It's the same price as a hoagie , when I got the sandwich , I had asked for wheat toast and got wheat bread which tasted old, tuna is dry and I was hungry after eating. There was barely anything on that sandwich. The food here is awesome! I wanted to give this place 5 stars for that reason. I've been there plenty of times, but my last two visits were errors the deli has made. I know mistakes happen, but there's too much chit chat among employees. I ordered a large hoagie, and received a small. The person offered to make another one, but I said no problem, I'll take it anyway. The second time I ordered another hoagie, and it had no cheese. A hoagie with no cheese, not the same. I know in this day and time it is hard to get people to work. I will come back again, but the next time I will have to unwrap my hoagie before paying for it. read more
