Great little roadside diner. We enjoyed breakfast and had simple order of eggs, hash browns and toast. You will get good old fashioned simple food here. I wouldn't go here if you actually wanted to eat. Went for breakfast at 10:40. It hit 11:40 and no food was in sight. Asked the waitress and still had two other tables before ours were going to get made. Asked another table and they waited an hour also and almost left. Seemed like a common occurrence. read more

Waited over an hour while seeing 4 other tables getting their food before us (2 people) that came in after us. When advising we were leaving, the waitress was rude and didn't beleive us. She was loud about it, rest of restaurant could here. Been there a number of times, the food isn't great and to wait the amount of time and rude waitress, not worth it, go somewhere else. read more

Nice diner with good food . I had the drummie basket, and I felt like no matter how much I ate, the plate was still full; the portions were excessive. The chicken was good, though, and the dinner came with fries and a piece of really good rye bread. Fair prices and pleasant service. I would probably visit again if in the area. read more

What a great little find. We were meeting someone for a Facebook marketplace trade and this place was our meeting spot. We decided to eat heat. I don't fully understand the negative reviews. The Covered Wagon was clean and we had prompt and friendly service. The food was good, too. It's basic restaurant fare. Nothing fancy, just good eats. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger, my husband had the bacon cheeseburger and our daughter got the chicken strip basket. . It was quite tasty. The fries were cooked perfectly with lots of crispiness. The coleslaw was a little bland. We up-ordered baskets and that really wasn't necessary. We had enough fries with the chicken strip basket that no others were even needed. The prices were very reasonable as well. I would recommend the Covered Wagon if you are passing through or just looking for a simple, good meal. read more

HOW IN THE HECK DO YOU RUN OUT OF FISH IN THE NORTHWOODS?!?!?!? This is the second time I've had issues getting fish here. Last time they ran out of breading and I had to eat it broiled. That time it was so buried in Lemon it was damn near unbearable. Also, 2 of our guests were served fries with uncooked cold fries mixed in. Long story short... come here for lunch... before their inability to properly stock their restaurant rears it's ugly head and they get in a rush and miss steps... like cooking. ...at least there was pie. read more

We actually were trying to go to a different restaurant and when we got there, they were out of business so we thought we would try the next closest restaurant and that was the Covered Wagon, and I am so happy we did, very friendly service, the staff were so happy and energetic. Our food was outstanding and just the feel of a small old school diner, loved it all, never been there, driven by at least 50 times on travels, but I will be stopping from now on. Ordered the omelet special. Food was good but there was a small piece of hard clear plastic in it. I brought it to the attention of the waitress. Apparently it was no big deal to her, she took it to show the cook and that was the last I saw or heard about it. Not even a sorry let alone a discount. read more

Wow, unexpected... I've passed this place on the road several years without stopping by to give it a try. I ordered a BLT sandwich, thinking it would be small,Ike every other restaurant I've been too. We'll guess again, this sandwich was massive. I'm talking a solid 4 inches thick, and filled with bacon, ham, cheese... You name it! I'm a big dude, and I was having a hard time finishing the thing. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The inside is a little worn down and ruffed up a bit, but don't let that fool ya.' Apparently the restaurant has improved quite a bit over the past few years. I heard its because of new management. Any way, I had a great experience here, and I would recommend this place to anyone trying to get as much "bang for their buck." read more

Stopped here for breakfast after church. Good things - clean and cute decor. Bad things - waited a long time to get coffee and menus. Then a long wait to order and a much longer time to finally get our breakfasts. When our food finally arrived my eggs were barely luke warm. We won't be stopping here for breakfast any time soon. Hidden gem!!!!!! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but there is a reason the parking lot is always full!!! Found this place 6 years ago or so and have loved it every time ever since. Went there expecting to cure a hangover and waited almost an hour for our food..we never received our food and we saw another person dining in receive their order. After that one of the workers noticed we were starting to get frustrated turns out they never even received our order as they were too busy worrying about to go orders and that's when we decided to leave. read more

We were heading to amnicon State Park to do some water falling and it was raining and we thought let's go find a place for breakfast we found this quaint little place wow we were very surprised. Steak and eggs were excellent and my husband's breakfast was great service is wonderful and it was out in the middle of nowhere what a wonderful surprise if we're ever in the area again will stop by and have steak and eggs and he'll have sausage and scrambled and hash browns and toast what a wonderful Delight. read more
