We live down south and came here on a Friday night for dinner. There was some confusion when we first arrived as to who our waitress was so we did sit for a good 10-15 minutes without any drinks/water etc. The lady who seated us then decided she would be our waitress and she was fantastic! We ordered 3 Old Fashioneds, 2 beers and 1/2 a carafe of wine, the sampler appetizer, the 20 ounce Porterhouse and grilled chicken and it was all just over $100 - a great deal! Came with soup, salad, a side, we got a bread basket and a relish tray - all were A to A+ delicious! It is super clean and the food comes out in the perfect order with perfect timing and the staff are incredibly friendly and do a great job! Has the perfect old school Wisconsin Supper Club vibe. I love these old school supper clubs in Wisconsin. Go for the experience and ambience more than anything. The service was friendly and intimate. They feed you well. I got the "lake and steak" and while my steak could have been seasoned more it was super tender and juicy. The fish (Canadian walleye) was great too. My sister picked this classic supper club location for a dinner for my mother's 90th birthday. She loves the vibe. There were 12 of us and a baby. The server was wonderful and everyone's food came out correct and delicious! Three of us had the walleye, including me. I can't get that very often so I usually order it if I see it on the menu. It was great. I had enough for two meals. This is an old-school supper club, of course with the relish tray to start, the soup and the salad and cocktails. This place has been on my list for years and we finally went for my birthday! We had reservations for 4pm for four of us. Our servers name was Laura super friendly seated us quickl. We all tried seasonal drinks I had the Jack Frost, Dee had the peppermint martini, Riley had White Russian , Jeff had hot spiced black tea with capt Morgan- they were all very good! The re was a basket of breadsticks and crackers on table for us and then came the relish tray it had carrots and celery, cottage cheese, kidney bean salad, pickled sweet sauerkraut, and pickled herring! She actually got us another pickled herring cause we ate the first one so fast! We all had soup it was Brocolli cheese or chicken dumpling which both were very good! We all had salads which were great! No compkaints!! Dee ordered the seafood platter and the rest of us all got same thing the steak and lobster!!!! It all melted like butter in your mouth! We had the worst dinner at dreamland supper club. I ordered a medium rare prime rib. It came to me with no pink and grill marks like they re-heated yesterday's prime. nothing else they brought us was good either other than the cheese curds. When I wrote the restaurant a Facebook message they didn't seem very responsive or apologetic. They basically told me to piss off. Bad food and even worse management. read more

This was our first time at Dreamland, but it won't be the last. We made reservations and it was quite busy when we got there, but our waitress took great care of us. It does state right on the menu that due to the number of courses to expect your dining experience to take a minimum of an hour and to let them know if you are in a rush. The mixed drinks were spot-on, and the appetizer and entrees were very tasty. I might have given this place a 5 star review, but the relish tray, soup and salad were nothing to write home about. Back to what was noteworthy. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was delicious (shrimp wasn't "fishy" and the cocktail sauce was delish). I had the Seafood Plate, which consisted of broiled shrimp, scallops, walleye and a lobster tail and it was all cooked just right and had great flavor. My Mom ordered the Australian Lobster Tail, which is purportedly 16+ oz. and it while she raved about how delicious it was, it was MORE than a meal and she ended up taking half home to enjoy the next day. read more

This place was just "ok." We ordered 3 different types of steaks and also the prime rib. The steaks were all over cooked and most of them were tough. The porterhouse was the best of the steaks, but none of them had much for flavor or seasoning. Service was good but felt a little rushed, with each course being quickly dropped at our table before the server moved on to her next table. Also, while there is a disclosure in their menu about prices being subject to change, you would think the server would at least give us a courtesy heads up. (The porterhouse priced at $34.95 on the menu actually is $38.95. It may have been a temporary or very recent price change because the server initially wrote $34.95 on the receipt and then updated it to $38.95.) Overall, we are not likely to return. Yeah. Well I'll just say the prime rib isn't made daily. They told me that they make it a day or two earlier and warm it up. The edge was hot like it came out of a microwave and the center was ice cold. Ice!!! And wife had a filet and was not even seasoned. Kids chicken tender were also obviously frozen previously, and the salad was really really small. The bright side of it is that the soup was pretty good. This started off extremely rocky.. made a reservation and we're sat right away. However, after we were sat, NO ONE came over to us or made eye contact with us for 25 minutes. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt because it was Father's Day but there were plenty of servers working for the amount of people that were there. Where they lacked in service they made up for in food. Relish tray was great and had a variety of things, warm bread and homemade chicken and dumpling soup was great. While the food was great, drinks were not. We had to keep telling our waitress how drinks were made because no one that was there knew how to make drinks.. Brandi old fashioned, Irish coffee, amaretto stone sour.. and their grasshopper is made of half ice cream half shaved ice and was not good at all. After two bites we had a major brain freeze. Expect to be there for 1.5-2 hours for dinner as they take their time brining out the next coarse to you. read more

Decided to try this restaurant because we had been listed on YouTube as a great place to eat and we had a wonderful experience, very good old home town service, extremely friendly staff, food was very , very good, it's served in courses, drinks, relish tray and bread sticks and yes we tried the pickled herring, soup, then salad then the entree's then sweet girl brought me a birthday cupcake complete with candle. The only downside my lobster was so huge.. lol. it cooled down quickly, but hey most of the time my food gets too cold anywayz, but it tasted so wonderful and served with heated butter, they were an eye catcher for sure. hubbies baked potato was great with butter and sour cream, I took the veggie medley it was frozen from a bag, I don't have a problem with this if it's done well, and it was but I'm just thinking with the supper club being out in the countryside and this time of year it seems it would be fresh veggies, like I said it was done well not mushly like they can get. Walking in felt like a bit of a step back in time, with outdated, plastic tablecloths in a pattern I think my parents had when I was growing up. And all of the customers I saw had a different glass style for their soda or iced tea. We also went with a mahatten and old fashioned. Both drinks were STRONG! First course was a relish tray which consisted of cottage cheese, kidney bean salad, a small sliver of carrot and celery and some olives along with cucumber salad. It was pretty good, but I've had better relish trays. Next up was some chicken dumpling soup with a bread basket that was two warm breadsticks and a basket of crackers. Soup was very tasty. This was followed by some small dinner salads with bleu cheese and balsamic dressing. I ordered ranch, but received the balsamic, which was actually pretty good. We ordered the filet mignon and filet with shrimp. Both steaks seemed a bit overcooked, mine was supposed to medium well, but was a bit closer to well and hubby ordered medium rare and it was closer to medium. We also got the au gratin and oven baked potatoes. The au gratin was ok, the oven baked potatoes were a baked potato cut in half and deep fried. It needed sour cream/butter, which I had asked for sour cream, but she never brought it. She remembered that she forgot it at the end of the meal. The food was pretty good and the price was reasonable, if you overlook the ordering mistakes and overcooked steaks. The food and service was good, but not super fantastic. I would give it 3.5 stars, but since I can't I'll give it 4 stars. Maybe if there wasn't such a staffing issue due to COVID, some of these issues would be fixed, so I don't want to downgrade them. What a fun spot. This classic supper club is tucked away in the north woods with an incredible sign. Follow the billboards from Highway 2, and drive toward the neon glow. You can't miss it! The ambiance at Dreamland Supper Club is kitschy to the max and the food - downright delicious. All soups and salad dressings are home made. We loved the relish tray and the bread basket. I tried the walleye, which was light and crispy. My sister had the ribs and they were fall off the bone good. The fried chicken was a big hit wIth my cousin. My husband's stuffed shrimp was ok - a little too cheesy in our opinion, but cooked well. We washed down our delicious dinner with a few brandy old fashioned sweets, and ice cream drinks. Overall, the service was great. Amy took good care of us, and the owner stopped by to check in and chat us up. I recommend Dreamland to anyone who loves a solid throwback supper club. This one represents Wisconsin well. If you're in the area, they're open on weekends from 5 to close. read more

We used to love this place, food was always good but the last two times have been a failure. Tonight we went on a Friday night and had the 14 oz New York Steak. It was tough and not much for flavor. My mother had the same and hers was worse. She had oven browns and they were way over done, you couldn't even cut them. Went there for the 1st time with my husband for my Birthday it is a classic supper club. we were seated immediately and given Menus. we did not have drinks. the Relish tray was very good and the breadsticks were nice and warm and tasted great. next course was Chicken Dumpling Soup. there was no chicken in them and they were not hot just Lukewarm but had a good flavor. next was salad which was just average also. my Husband had the Lake and Steak and said the Steak was very good his Walleye was not cooked through and he had to send it back. a new one was given to us it was a bit overcooked and dry he also had the veggies and said they were just steamed veggies nothing special. I had the Chicken and Ribs. the Chicken was nice and Hot but slightly over cooked and the Ribs were flavorful and fell off the bone but were only Lukewarm. Had the cheesy hash brown they were over cooked and dry and crunchy not very appetizing. it wasn't a bad experience but could have been better. read more

I can not express enough how much we enjoyed Dreamland! We had a very small gathering for a 40th anniversary and they truly helped make is special. This evening there brought me to recognize what true customer service and just being nice does for people. Every single staff member was so wonderful and just took time to say hello. I am from WI and have been traveling the state to find good supper clubs that live up to supper club/Friday fish fry worthiness. This place, by far is extremely over priced for what they offer. We walked in, and the only smell from the look of this 1960s, wall paper, odd ball decor establishment was that of the smell of horrid piss. Yes, that smell of you had asparagus for dinner and you wake to pee the next morning horrific piss smell. Right there, I wanted nothing but to depart and go home to make my own dinner in a sanitized location. But doing so I would get the full feel to leave a solid review. The place needs updating but the food, for the limited selection of seafood they offer for a Friday night, is decent but over priced. They offer a relish tray like the old style supper club, so if you're into relish/pickeled herring/ kidney bean slaw and a few veggies you're set. If you're looking for fish fry Friday, don't bother. The walleye is pre breaded and not worthy of your money and they do not offer a perch or bluegill as an option. Maybe a steak would be better? Rounding Lake Superior today, we stopped by "Dream Land" at the recommendation of a local resident. Typical rural Wisconsin Supper Club, It looked Clubish but in good condition, clean, north woodsie appearance inside. It was Sunday night about 6:30 PM when we walked in on a very busy waitress and the Bartender/Owner, trying to handle about 30 guests, all by themselves. We stood in the entryway for a good 5 minutes before the owner showed us to the table right in front of the door. OK we were recognized as alive. Did I mention they really needed more help? Around 7:00 pm I got a Brandy Old Fashioned (Wisconsin you know). My friends had water and coffee. Found out after my second one (after dinner) they were $7.75 each. No wonder they weren't on the menu. The featured dinner was a 16 ounce Lobster Tail for "Market Price," which is restaurant speak for "If you have to ask you can't afford it." I asked - "$65", guess I was right. I had the $40, 7 oz. Lobster and 7 oz. Crab Legs. My mates ordered very reasonably priced scallops. OK, cut to the chase here. Had a deli tray, followed by soup, followed by salad (including fresh bread sticks) and finally an absolutely fabulous meal for each of us. All in all it took almost 2 hours from slow start to stuffed full finish. That did include a last second order of Deep Fried Cookie Dough with Caramelized Ice Cream. DECADENT. Sad to say we may never be back this way again, but don't let that stop you. Just don't be afraid to ask what "Market Price" is on the unlisted items. read more

My wife and I were driving to Duluth and as a result of a book on supper clubs we discovered this place just a mile off of HWY 53. We had a lovely dinner on Thursday 6/27. After ordering a drink we received a relish trey which was excellent. Our dinner included breadsticks were outstanding. I ordered the small prime rib which I was happy with. My wife had the Walleye that she was quite satisfied. I loved the my thousand island dressing, but the salad quality didn't quite match the quality of the relish trey. Our service was excellent and the owner came by to check on us. We ended up having a nice conversation with him. I think this supper club needs to get some signage on HWY 53, but until then its going to be a little known back in the woods place. We wanted to find an old-school Wisconsin supper club while on quick trip in the area. Dreamland did not disappoint! We had great service from Julie. We also had an excellent meal and experience. The relish tray had a yummy selection of herring, pickles, bean salad, warm bread sticks and other tasty tidbits. Our soup course was outstanding - homemade chicken dumpling and black bean chipotle. We selected steak and lobster and pork chops for our entrees, and everything was delicious. The sides of au gratin hash browns and oven browned potatoes were great complements to our dinners. We had bourbon Old Fashioneds and a bourbon Manhattan for our cocktails, and they were nicely crafted. We asked for the Manhattan served up, and it arrived in a slightly frosted martini glass which was perfect. Wisconsin Old Fashioneds are typically served with brandy, but we asked for bourbon, and they were wonderful. Although there are reviews here commenting about the dated decor - and it is - we were very comfortable with it as it brought back many wonderful memories of the long ago supper clubs we went to with our families when we were growing up - which was exactly what we were looking for. We live in Minneapolis, and the menu prices here are very reasonable. The owner, Dan, stopped by our table to ask about our meal. My wife and I love Wisconsin and the whole "supper club" atmosphere. The relish tray (pickled herring, cottage cheese,etc) was great. So were the bread sticks. Unfortunately, three of our four meals were horrible. The salmon was white (like it had been boiled) and tasted dry and flavorless. Two of our three prime ribs were full of strands of muscle making it almost impossible to cut. Mostly bone, fat and gristle leaving us frustrated. The waitress never came by to ask how our meals were (maybe she knew) so we left knowing we would never return. There are too many good places in Duluth and Superior to risk further dissapointment. I grew up in the South Range area and this is a local family favorite. They have the BEST chicken dumpling soup you will ever have. I am never disappointed by their food. It is an old-fashioned restaurant for an old-fashioned community. People travel from miles to eat here.
