I first discovered it a few years ago after taking my nephew apple picking nearby, so I was excited to finally make my way back. The scenic drive alone is worth it. On this visit, they were serving customers inside only, but during peak summer days they also open the walk-up windows, which seems like a smart system for handling bigger crowds. Inside, the L-shaped counter setup helps keep the line moving efficiently even when there are multiple groups waiting. One thing I truly appreciated as someone with a gluten allergy was how clearly they labeled the gluten-free flavors on the menu. It made ordering stress-free and saved me from having to ask a million questions. Honestly, I wish every ice cream shop did this. Another huge bonus: they allow two flavors in a small size! I ordered the Great White Way and Calf Trax with rainbow sprinkles, and both flavors were absolutely delicious. After grabbing your ice cream, there are picnic tables outside overlooking breathtaking mountain views. The scent wafting through the air should honestly be studied because it had me floating toward the building like a cartoon character following a pie cooling on a windowsill. I'm not saying the aroma dragged me in against my will...but I'm also not *not* saying that. Inside, the shop is set up in an "L" shape, and they have the flavors posted both outside AND inside, which I deeply appreciated because nobody needs the chaos of 14 people trying to read one tiny menu while pretending they're ready to order. They let you sample flavors before committing, which is dangerous for someone like me because suddenly I become an ice cream sommelier. I ended up getting Bellvale Bog and Calf Trax and let me tell you: absolutely worth it. 10/10. No notes. And somehow it gets even better once you walk back outside because there are picnic tables with a view that is genuinely stunning. Like, annoyingly picturesque. My next visit dropped to three stars because service was painfully slow with only one employee working, and then we discovered that our cones had hollow centers. So we came back and gave them another chance. This time, service was speedy. There were three people working, everyone was friendly, and we got our orders quickly. The ice cream tasted great all around too. But... the products are still inconsistent. Two people had the ube cones, and those were solid. Three other people received hollow centers in their cones and cup. It's just disappointing. Everything was also extra soft this time. The ice cream was much meltier than what we've experienced here before. Not bad tasting, just noticeably different. So yes, this visit was better. Much better service and great flavor, but we still didn't walk away feeling the same way we did after that first five star visit. At $9 per cone, I think they need to deliver a more consistent product. The flavors are good and there's clearly something worth coming back for, but when the experience can vary this much from visit to visit, it's hard to justify that price.

On that particular day, there were about half of the usual flavors normally available. The girls who were working had a NASTY attitude and managed to get a basic order wrong and portions are skimpier than they used to be. The banana oreo has no banana flavor. The mint ice cream tasted like toothpaste. Our daughter was happy, so at least there was that. Also, cash only in 2025? Smells like a racket! Anyway, Green Valley has more flavors, friendlier staff, and way better pricing. From now on, that's where we'll be getting our ice cream in Milford from here on out.
