Finally got myself to the Quarry Grill after passing it frequently for a year or two! Food: ended up getting a pulled pork burger which was a bit heavy, but very tasty. The smash burgers were surprisingly done well and properly seasoned, which hasn't been a recent thing I have seen elsewhere. The coolest thing is the unique soda fountain, offering some Arnold Palmer! Aesthetic: super nice "bbq/grill" style joint, but I loved how much space there was and their wall art paying homage to the quarry and town. Very nice touch. Service: food came out quick and they asked how I enjoyed my food a few times, which I love to hear because it means they take pride in it. read more

Really good lunch spot close to the Sterling Hill mine. The burgers are all smash burgers. Regular fries are flat steak fries. The sweet potato waffle fries are amazing and were much better. The restaurant is clean and the employees were friendly. Highly recommend this place. read more

We came in here for an early Sunday lunch. Hubby had the Sussex Smash and I had the Dirty Burger ... we shared orders of Fries & Tots. Not even kidding - the best smash burger I've had in a LONG time. The Rock Sauce is delish, but the Taylor Ham Jam is TO DIE FOR. The entire staff is incredibly helpful (even with my insane questions), and the inside is pretty cool - they even have some memorabilia from the old quarry. The best Smashburgers. I could Not stop eating. True smash burgers and their Signsture "Taylor Ham Jam" is a must try. It is absolutely awesome and it goes on everything. Plenty of options form smashburgers with 2 or even 4 patties (quad) , deep fried hotdogs and French fries. All sauces are made in house and beef is locally sourced and it's all fresh. Chicken wings and chicken nuggets, milkshakes as well. Best smash burgers in the area. Everything is delicious and the homemade ranch is so good, I could eat it on anything. The first time I tried the fries here, I didn't like them but that isn't the case anymore. I really enjoy them - especially with the cheese sauce! I love how they have their food truck in at other local spots during the summer (like Sparta Dairy). We live in Newton so it's a bit of a drive to Franklin, but we'll never pass up an opportunity to go to Sparta for fantastic burgers. read more

Solid choice. Came here on a day trip to the Sterling Hill Mine. Smash burger was flavorful and cheese curds were on point. Restaurant was clean, service friendly, and food was served quickly. Smash burger was more "smashed" than I've ever had (and I've had a lot of smashed burgers!), which was fine but made the whole burger construction a bit unstable - it kept sliding apart. And, the RC cola line gets a thumbs down. So, 1 star off for those two deficiencies. But I would definitely return. read more

We finally made our long awaited stop here and both decided the Dirty Burger would get us the best of what they have to offer. Perfect beef patties with their truly unique Taylor Ham (not Pork Roll) Jam and their Rock Sauce- it was superb. Their Cheese curds and corn fritters were a nice compliment to the star of the show. A perfectly blended Banana Pudding with Oreo Milkshake (which they happily made to my custom request) was a perfect follow on to the meal. Since before it opened, I decided I wanted to check this place out. I had the Dirty Burger. It was good but messy. All burgers are cooked the same way, so you can't have anything cooked to a specific 'doneness'. Still it was good. Service was faster than I expected. The biggest negative was the poor fountain selection (RC and Diet Rite, really?). I'd go back, but not the kind of place I would go out of my way for. Staff was friendly, and place was clean. I have tried just about everything on the menu and you cannot go wrong with anything that has your name on it. Burgers are perfectly smashed and the dogs have the kind of snap and flavor that one who seeks out these types of off the beaten path places can truly appreciate. And talk about sides! Decided to finally give this place a try! It should've been a red flag when on a Friday night this place is seen practically empty with no one eating in. Anyways Rock Burger was tasteless, no crunch, the bread was smaller than the burgers and soggy. The sauce was overpowering and it tasted like ketchup and Mayo combined. The French fries were cut so thin and long, not crispy. They were soaked in grease! The fries were thrown in the garbage. Also ordered the special burger and there was nothing special about it. Also a soggy tasteless mess! The tater tots were also a greasy soggy mess. Service was fine, just interacted with the person taking the order. Facility looks nice but what matters is the food. If your food is not up to par, the rest doesn't matter. Needless to say, the food was thrown out because it wasn't edible. Save your money and go to Wendy's instead down the road. read more

I normally won't leave a review to a fast food eatery that I only visited once but since I know that I wont be going back, I decided to leave one. This is a place you walk through the side of the eating area, wide open, the décor is trendy and clean to get to the counter where you order your food and then pick it up. I ordered two items, the "Rock Burger" which was 4oz's of two smashed patties that you are not allowed to order the way you want it, for me it would be med/rare but they make all of their burgers simply well done, cheese that you could not choose from, 2 small pickles that I could not taste and "Rock sauce" which is ketchup & mayo mixture on a bun that is not firm to hold and gets mushy when you hold the burger to eat it and not worth $6.50 on a very small paper plate. The other item I ordered was French fries, which they call "The Best Fries" were thin slices of potato, a bit undercooked and not worth $4.00. Both items came on a tray like you get at a cafeteria line or a fast food place. They had a no name cheapo brand ketchup and not "HEINZ" that is just so wrong in the 21st century for the high prices they charge. The only reason I stopped in was that it was a new place to the area and looked trendy, full me once shame on you, full me twice shame on me. The final burger that you get looks nothing like the pictures. The whole menu looked a bit over priced like $6.00 shakes or a plain hot dog for $3.75 its Franklin, Sussex County for a new place that has no proven track record. The taste of the food was just ordinary and you do NOT get good value for your money here to eat from very small paper plates on a tray in a cafeteria-style area. Never will be back. read more

Fresh handmade great toppings and different from other places. The fries for example were thin slices and fried crispy , wonderful! We call in a order and was told 15/20 mins. Got there and then sat and waited for 30 mins. I called ahead to eat not wait longer.

Just an ok for us. The hot dogs were average. Didn't seem like had casing on as advertised. The buns were hard. The sauerkraut tries to be too fancy! Regular is so much better and they don't offer it. The upside was fried were great. Definitely needs work. A shame as was looking forward to a new local place. If the owners take ride to Hyrams in Fort Lee, NJ - (a very simple hot dog stand landmark) and take note of their food, they could turn this around pretty quickly. read more

Let me start off by saying that the staff here are very welcoming and that the restaurant itself is very clean. But the food is alright at best. Better than most other establishments in the area but I can just go home and cook myself a burger or hot dog that is bigger than the bun itself. The food and drinks all come separate which leaves your wallet practically skinny by the time you leave. Also the fountain drink area is not promising. Not too many options to pick from. If you're looking for a clean place to eat that has alright food but friendly staff, then this is your place. The way the restaurant is decorated to reflect the history of the borough is a nice touch as well.
