So, technically this is at the same exact winery as Giracci vineyard. It is another brand/ label they carry and sale. We really loved the Miss Kitty's Muscat. We couldn't get away for a wine tasting, so we decided to go down the street. The winery is off the main drag in the Santiago canyon, and it's a real cute small facility. They were setting up for a wedding, so they moved the tasting over to the Cabernet Barn, with kovid, of course, we were sitting outside, and there was a requirement to order food with the wine. We ended up getting the bottle of rosé and I had the chicken tacos and my wife had the bacon-wrapped dates. She really liked hers. Mine was a mix of elements that I thought were good and some misfires. There wasn't anything bad about it, but they weren't anything special overall. The wine was very pleasant. The hostess suggested that over getting glasses since we'd enjoy much more wine for less of a price. So that was definitely a good call. All in all, if you want to check out acute little winery without leaving the county, this is a very nice spot. read more

Came here for the first time last weekend with some friends as we were looking for something chill to do. Found a few wineries and decided to visit this one. We had a discount card for 2 for 1 tastings (usually $20 each for 6 tastings from a set menu). We walked away without a bottle, which is unusual for us. Mostly reds here and all were pretty tart and strong with tannins and tabaco, which I am not a fan of. The tasting room was small and so was the available seating. Megan who helped us was great, thus the 3 stars! She knew her wines, the blends, and was super sweet! However, we will pass on this place next time we are in the area, because the wines are not our taste. read more

What a nice surprise! Keeping our expectations low, we did not think we would like these wines as much as we did! We weren't fond of the Chardonnay; however, the reds are really good - especially the Barbera and the Sangiovese, which we went home with. We did think the price point was a little high, though. You can buy a selection of crackers and cheeses. There is an outdoor seating area as well, which is really pretty. ** On the day of our visit one of the tasting rooms was closed for repairs, so we are not sure which of the actual rooms we visited, but we tasted wines from both Cowboy Canyon and Giracci. Just visited Giracci and Cowboy Canyon this Saturday. Just me and a friend wanting to check out a new local spot for wine. I poured through other reviews before my visit and was a bit pensive, but if you know what to expect and are prepared ahead of time, I don't know how you could be disappointed. We started at Cowboy which has a TINY tasting area, so we sipped a couple varietals and bought a bottle of Sangiovese. The price point was reasonable, the wine was good, and our server was great! I mentioned to our server that a couple of young men employed on the property drove past a bit to fast as they kicked up dust behind the cart, she was super receptive, and said she would talk with them, one of them is new. That's a great sign when you can make a suggestion, and it is taken with a positive attitude. The only adjacent seating was a row of Adirondack chairs in the sun, so we walked over to the large gathering area in front of Giracci. There wasn't any available seating, and what seating they do have isn't very comfortable, but luckily we had our beach chairs in the car, so we set up our own spot on the grass, were perfectly happy, and comfortable. Yes, they need more seating, it wasn't very busy, and a couple of groups had to grab extra barstools for their small cocktail tables. Plus another group left their tables outside to walk around, left all of their stuff on the tables, then never came back because they sat inside at Giracci. C'mon people, don't hold tables like that, it's rude. After we put that bottle to pasture, we went inside Giracci to share a tasting. Again friendly and knowledgeable staff. Easy to find wines that we liked. And between the two locations, there are several selections in the $30 range which makes these wineries easy to return to. Save the full tasting experience for when you are traveling through wine regions. Buy a bottle here and enjoy the relaxing surroundings. Here's how you to can have a great time. Either call ahead and for $50 have a private table and chairs set up for you (up to 10 people?), or bring a picnic set-up, just like you are headed for a concert at the park, except of course buying the wine onsite, you cannot bring outside alcohol, but everyone should know that. We will definitely be returning with our group of friends, look for us on the lawn! read more

This small tasting room offers three wines: a white stainless chardonnay, a sangiovese, and a meritage. The chardonnay couldn't possibly offend anyone, although on smelling the bouquet, I could swear it was laced with horse manure. I pointed this out, seriously, I did, to my party, and another picked up on it as well. It wasn't bad, and was surely due to the stables nearby. It was very light and drinkable like a soft watery lemonade. Who could hate that? The sangiovese was decent, and we got no complaints there. Not bad. The meritage was pretty good, and we all liked that, but not for the price. This place is worth a visit. read more

We recently discovered Cowboy Canyon Winery when we were visiting Giracci Winery. It's a wonderful experience! Great wine, great music, and great people! The owner greeted us the second time we walked in which is a nice change for a tasting room. He was super welcoming and told us all about the winery. The only down size is the pour sizes are a lot smaller than other wineries I've been to. The lay out of the winery is beautiful, theres actually a wedding here today. My review is based on the customer service I received from Linda their event person. For one she took my call while she's driving, there was horrible static. Secondly, when I asked her what did their location have to offer for 25-30 guests. She asked what our budget was and so I threw a number out there $35-$40 she proceeded to say that the facility had a $1,500 rental feel plus, rentals and food. Which I understand, but her smart ass remark said that now a days you cannot get dinner for $35 or $40 and that McDonalds would be a better option. Really recommending a client to McDonalds when your winery offers $20 wine tastings. No wonder they are only open on the weekends. To the owners if you aren't booking enough events you can thank Sharon because she does a poor representation of your location. read more

Cowboy Winery tasting room was rather makeshift and the bathrooms were unkept and smelled of urine. We chose this place to celebrate my birthday based off of a recommendation from a friend. After purchasing two bottles and finding a place to sit we were approached and handed "The Rules" and treated rather poorly by a staff member (event planner?). We stopped in here after visiting Garacci and enjoyed our visit overall. The lady pouring wine was super sweet and interesting and the wines were pretty good for SoCal. We played Corn hole and visited the horses and the weather was perfect for sitting outside sipping wine under the red umbrellas. The negative was the very rude older lady (maybe an owner) that scowled and growled and looked down her nose. We brought our medium dogs that everyone was petting and enjoying and she came over and very nasty-like complained about "their insurance not liking dogs" and telling us "it" should be under our chair. Which, ok, I get it, but did she have to be so rude and cranky about it? Moral of the story: not dog or people friendly, wine was ok, Garacci was better. read more

I called twice and left messages and sent and email and gave Austin my phone # to have someone call me as I wanted to arrange to have my daughters bridal shower there. No replies! What a fun atmosphere! Awesome place to relax and enjoy good music and great wine. We hung out there with a good size group on a Sunday afternoon and had an absolute ball. We were able to meet the very friendly and knowledgable wine maker Michael and his family while we enjoyed the quaint hillside tasting room. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, they even stayed open past there normal hours for us!!! Highly recommend everyone to come visit this beautiful property! Immediately we were greeted by tree hung lights, the sound of wonderful country music, and the sweet smell of BBQ. One of my new favorite places to spend a weekend afternoon!! The property is beautiful- best part is that the tasting room is connected to the chic barn full of lovely horses! Wow! All I can say is come on down! This gem is rich with amazing energy, ambience, and flavors!!! The wine speaks for itself and the girl behind the counter (Austin) was super attentive and sweet. We did the tasting and couldn't make up our mind on which was our favorite so we bought the Sangiovese (red) and Posse (red blend) wines. My wife and I spent a wonderful Saturday night at the Cowboy Canyon Winery in Orange County. The event was the first of three scheduled for the upcoming summer months. It was their Cowboy Cookout, with a full BBQ dinner, (catered by Canyon Catering), line dancing and instructions. The band was Aaron Pax Taylor and his band. It was a family event, so the kids were out on the dance floor, dancing to their on "music". Everyone had a great time. I look forward to their next scheduled event in July. The Meritage is my personal favorite but what makes this place truly special is the customer service and how they treat every person that walks into the tasting room. What an amazing little Orange County Gem!! Visited this small winery while visiting Giracci Winery located on the same property. They were so nice and welcoming that I didn't want to leave!! The wine was amazing and you can tell how much pride and love they put into each batch! The space is small and located on the side of the Chardonnay barn on Giracci Vineyards...I can't say enough good things about the winemaker Michael and his family!!
